And here we are again.

I'll probably update the next chapter tomorrow, a bit early.

Valerie sighed and then looked at Danny with confused anger. "Danny? I don't understand. Why is all this… in your head?"

Danny paused and everyone looked at the C student for answers. He turned his head and smiled sadly at them. "Sometimes things aren't what they seem."

"Um not to interrupt but… how much farther?" Lester asked worriedly.

Danny smiled. "This is the last room of emotion, then you can go through the Memory Bank and get out."

"Don't worry citizens! You'll be safe with us! We will guide you to the last door and it's guardian."

"Don't pull me into this! I I I duh-duh-don't want to be be found by Him."

Everyone turned around and saw the last two Danny emotions.

One was Danny wearing the same outfit as the Danny guide along with a bed sheet tied around his neck like a cape. The other was hiding behind the first. It was disturbing though to see him.

The second Danny was shirtless and barefoot. He had a bruise on one eye and blood running from his mouth. A bruise was near his right hip and left shoulder. Finally and the most gruesome thing was the large Y shaped healed wound on his chest.

Danny gulped and rubbed the back of his neck. "Meet Courage and Fear."

"Do not worry. We'll get you to the next door quite quickly. I shall then do battle with Him."

"That's suicide! You can't do it alone. He'll hit you and cut you and hurt you!" Fear trembled. His whole frame was shivering.

"Daniel why on earth do you have a dissection wound on your chest!?" Lancer exclaimed and the kids gasped. Sam and Tucker only looked solemnly at each other.

"I tried… I tried to tell them… I'm human… I'm human… I still feel pain… It hurt it hurt so so bad…"

Courage looked over his shoulder sadly at Fear. "You must overcome it! You can not control the acts of others, only your own! Just because someone is unjust to you doesn't mean you should ever do the same! Be brave and face what comes!"

"I wish I was brave…" Fear shivered. He glanced over the group and froze when Valerie came close. "No. NO! Stay away, please! It was an accident, don't hurt me, please! An accident! Accident!"

Valerie gasped and pulled her hand back.

"I'll do your homework, Dash… Please…. just no more… no more… no…." Fear suddenly collapsed on the ground.

Dash felt a strange stab of guilt hearing the pitiful emotion, begging like that.

Courage looked up at them and nodded to the group. Courage helped the half-conscious, Fear on his shoulder and pointed to a glowing white door with black ascents.

"He's the one that decided to be the guardian?" Danny asked.

Courage shrugged. "Life really began when we died."

At those words, everyone froze.

"Say what?" Tyson blurted.

"How? What do you mean?" Paulina stuttered.

Danny started to sweat nervously. "Let's just go."

"No Mr. Fenton, we need to hear an explanation. You've dragged us through all these places, I've had to witness sides of my student that I had no idea existed, and I'm seriously worried about your mental health! Explanation now!" Lancer almost shouted.

Danny sighed and pointed to the door. "That's… where you'll get your answers."

Before anyone could speak, the room started to rumble.

"Oh no… He's trying to find us." Danny murmured. He looked at the group. "GO GO to the door! Me and Courage will hold him off!"

Everyone paused in shock as Courage stood at the ready staring into the darkness that was forming in the grey expanse above. Fear ran and hid under a table that formed from nowhere and Danny ran to stand next to Courage.

"But, Danny…" Star murmured.

Everyone but Tucker and Sam gasped when both turned to look over their shoulders. The Dannys' eyes were glowing a radioactive green that didn't belong on Danny Fenton.

"GO!" They both yelled.

Sam narrowed her gaze with Tucker before they ushered everyone to the door.

"Let's go!" Sam yelled.

"You heard the man… uh men!" Tucker snapped.

Everyone ran through the door and Sam shut it. As soon as it shut, it locked. Everyone stood there for a moment panting. Everyone jumped a foot in the air when they heard Fear let out a bloodcurdling scream, as if he was dying. Explosions and thumps followed and well as a maniacal laugh that chilled them to their cores.

"What is hell is going on!" Dash yelled in anguish.

Really no one knew what to think anymore. What was chasing them exactly and why in the world was Danny Fenton's mind so complex, so dark, so vibrant all at the same time?

"I wish Courage wouldn't say I'm dead. Otherwise I wouldn't still be here."

Everyone screamed and whipped around to see… Danny… only not. It was Danny wearing a hazmat suit only it was white with black accents as if he'd never been shocked by the portal. However, his eyes were pure green and his skin had a slightly bluish green tint to it; his legs were made into a ghostly tail and green fluid leaked from his hollow eyes, ears, mouth, and nose.

Sam was the first to get her voice back as everyone continued to take the sight of the new and odd Danny in. "Danny?"

"Yes, Dr. Frankenstein? Do you not like your monster? The dead parts of me which you electrified and brought to life? My master… Do you wish to take apart your best creation? Am I yours to do with as you wish, to take apart and put back together as you like? Is life and death but words or obstacles to you, Doctor?"

Sam trembled in place as she gazed into Danny's eyes. "You're his-"

"Ghost? Why yes… yes I am."

"Ghost?" Valerie whispered.

"Yes, was I not clear?"

"You talk in a strange manner," Mikey observed.

"Ghosts… their talk is not hindered as easily by emotions. They still feel, they still can know fear, pain, happiness, sadness and rage, but in a different way. More organized and compartmentalized. More control. With that control, we can think faster with things and not let other thoughts get in the way."

"Ghosts can't feel," Valerie snapped and then flinched when she realized she'd said that more viciously and loudly than she'd meant to.

"I am offended by that statement and probably many ghosts who don't wish to come to the human world would also be offend by such a narrow minded statement."

Valerie seemed confused by the response but didn't answer.

Lancer walked up and interrupted the talk. "The Memory Bank?"

"Impatience is not a good color on you, Mr. Lancer."

Lancer rubbed his head. "I just want to get my students and I out of here and have a long talk with your parents, Mr. Fenton."

Ghost Danny just stared. "Fine, the gallery of all that has been is ahead."

Ghost Danny turned and floated off, ectoplasm dripping to the ground every few feet.

Everyone walked behind the ghost solemnly as they traveled to the Memory Bank. Ghost Danny eventually froze in front of a large steel door that looked like the doors to the Ghost Zone in his parent's basement.

"Aren't you coming?" Tucker asked as everyone got near the red button on the wall.

Ghost Danny shook his head. "I'm bound to this small plain here by obsession. I must stay behind an erect defenses to hold back Him. You won't actually be moving along any further. The Memory Bank practically is a terminal that kicks you out of the mind. Since you won't be getting distance between Him and you, I have to keep him held at bay until you're let out."

Sam frowned and then spoke. "Danny… why does your ghost… look like…"

"This?" Ghost Danny finished. "It's what I would've been… I represent the truest form of Danny's soul if he'd died with regret. If you both hadn't been there during the accident, I would've died alone... If I had not had… you and Tucker, I would've wandered the Ghost Zone for years and years. Unlike the Monster's Frankenstein… You loved your creation and I wanted to stay alive for you that day."

Before Sam could ask more, Ghost Danny faded completely from view.

They heard his voice one last time. "I would be nothing without you guys…"

Sam smiled, understanding who Danny meant when referring to 'you guys'. He meant his friends and family.

"Why would Daniel compare Frankenstein and his Monster to you and himself, Samantha? Although his knowledge of the concept is impressive, I don't see the similarities." Lancer folded his arms.

Sam turned around to face them all and looked at Tucker. "You'll see why soon."

Tucker nodded and pushed the button. The doors opened and everyone was surrounded by a bright white light.

zz

"So what crazy thing has your parents invented this time, dude?"

"They called it a ghost portal or something."

"A ghost portal?"

"Yeah, sounds pretty silly. It doesn't work anyways. It sparked and then fizzled out."

Everyone in the group rubbed their eyes and looked around as their surroundings came into view. They were in the Fenton's basement. Another Sam, Danny, and Tucker were there. Everything around them was dreamlike. Sam turned to Tucker and buried her face in her shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her.

"You should check it out!"

"Sam, my parents said not to go near it."

"Just think about it though? A whole other world full of ghosts? How cool is that?"

"Well that's true. Who knows what super cool things could be just on the other side."

Everyone watched in confusion and slight foreboding, if Sam's actions with Tucker meant anything. Memory Danny pulled on a hazmat suit while Memory Sam walked over and replaced the sticker of his father's face with a stylized DP symbol. That's when everyone's breath caught.

"No." Valerie said simply. She and everyone watched as Danny walked into the portal. "NO!" She screamed out as if that would stop what was to come.

-click-

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Everyone closed their eyes and some cried out in horror as Memory Danny's scream echoed in their ears. They looked up after they heard Memory Sam and Tucker's voices scream Danny's name as well.

During this time they felt the presence of Fear and Sorrow. The emotions they'd met now permeated their souls. Near the end they strangely felt a tinge of Courage.

The energy in the portal started to die down and everyone flinched hard when a hand snatched the edge of the portal. None other than Danny Phantom tumbled out and passed out on the ground. Two bright white rings of light appeared around Danny's waist and changed him into Fenton. Sam and Tucker ran over and and picked Danny up.

"He is dead? Is he a ghost?"

Memory Sam fumbled with Memory Danny in their arms until she could press two fingers to his neck.

"He… he has a pulse. He's still alive Tuck."

"So he's… a half-ghost?"

The room started to dissolve as the group heard Memory Danny's parents calling down into the basement, wondering who screamed.

The rest Memory Bank is next and then the last chapter will be the repercussions of all this.

Oh and what do you think of the Frankenstein and Monster metaphor? It's not exactly the same of course, but I thought it was neat. Sam being Frankenstein and Danny being her Monster because of the portal.

Hoped you still liked this one :)
