A day after the incident, Peter's day at school went normal. But something was missing. He talked to Harry, he went to his classes, and was bullied by Flash. But Flash's bullying was very toned down. He gave a shove, but nothing too bad. Then Peter realized what was missing. It was Gwen! Gwen was gone! She must not have showed up at school because she was depressed from her father's death.
So he planned to go straight to Gwen's house after school, but before he could Harry stopped him from making a straight line to her place. "Dude, Pete." Harry began "My dad wants you over for dinner!" Peter smiled and asked "Really?" Harry nodded and said "Wants to meet you, Pete." Peter nodded, and continued on his way. Harry just looked at him run and said under his breath "Okay…see ya later, Pete."
Peter ran and ran and ran until he got to Gwen's house. He knocked on the door. She answered, and she was wrapped up in a grey hoodie. "Hi Pete…" she said rather solemnly. "Hey Gwendy. Sorry to hear about your dad…" She then said "Don't. He died doing what he thought was right. Well…aren't you gonna come in?"
Peter walked inside, and saw her stuff was packed up. "Hey wait…" he slowly said "You aren't moving are you?" Gwen nodded rather sadly and said "Without dad, nobody's here. Movin' with my grandma. She lives pretty far." Peter then looked at her, but he couldn't make eye contact though. Her hood and hair covered her eyes.
"You don't gotta move, Gwen." He said, with a confident smile. Gwen just looked at him. "You can move in with me and Aunt May." He continued. Gwen shook her head and said "Peter I don't want to be an inconvenience…" He placed his hand on her shoulder and said "You won't be." She gave a small smile and said softly "Okay."
Peter helped her pack her backs and then they walked out, Gwen still hanging her head low.
Elsewhere at Ravencroft institute a young woman with black hair and wearing a labcoat was speaking with Doc Ock, who sat in therapy. "Please Otto you must realize that Doctor Octopus isn't your name. You are Otto Octavius." Ock denied this by saying "No, Doctor Kafka. You must understand, I am Doctor Octopus…and my plan isn't over yet."
Kafka wrote some things down in her notepad as she continued to look at Ock. "What plans, if I may ask?"
Ock grinned and said "John Jameson's shuttle is landing tomorrow... It has something that I want, Doctor Kafka. So I sent someone out to get it…" Kafka tilted her head and asked him "What do you mean by that?" Ock then said "I shall speak no more. Please send me back to my cell."
Kafka frowned and sent Otto back to his cell. She continued writing on her notepad. She wanted to fix Otto somehow, despite how daunting it seemed.
Back in the outside world, Peter and Gwen finally arrived at the Parker House. May then turned to the door to see both of them. "Why hello Peter, I see you brought company!" Peter scratched the back of his neck.
"Well…" he began "She's Gwen Stacy. Her dad kinda…died. I was hoping she could stay with us." Gwen then added "If it wouldn't be too much, …"
May slowly walked over to them both and she said "Oh nonsense, it's no trouble to me dearie. A friend of Peter's is a friend of mind. You can sleep in the guest bedroom, dearie." Gwen nodded and said "Thanks …" May then chuckled and said "Please, call me May."
"Well since you two got to know each other…I think I might head out now." Peter said. Gwen then asked "Wait...where are you going?" Peter smiled and said "Got places to be, Gwen." She frowned slightly and said "Well. Okay, Peter. I gotta go get my stuff from my house anyway." She then walked off as well. May sat alone in the living room and thought "I think those two have something special. They're quite nice together."
As Peter walked to the back of his house to change, a smoke bomb hit him. His spider-sense went off, but by then it was too late. He was knocked out cold. And when he next awoke, he was flying high in the air as he heard the berserk laughter of the Goblin. He was tied up in a rope.
"Well, well, well, look who woke up!" he said, his voice as upbeat as ever. "Wh-what are you doing?" Peter asked. Goblin chuckled and said "I'm giving you a flight around town, ! Or should I say…Spider-Man?"
Pete's face went into shock and he tried to respond "But…I'm…"
"BUT YOU ARE!" Goblin said before Parker could finish. Luckily, a web shot at the glider and up came Spider-Woman. She landed on the glider, no quips or anything. She just tried hitting the Goblin, to little success at that. He pushed her off as she grunted, but then she snapped the rope Parker was on. She then leapt off of the glider, the roped up young man in tow.
Goblin flew away while shaking his fist. And then Spider-Woman landed still holding Parker. She broke him out of the ropes. "I have a habit of saving your life." She said. "Well…thanks, Spider-Woman." He replied to her.
She then wrapped an arm around him and said "Yep. You're quite the handsome guy, ." Peter just looked at her and asked "A-are you hitting on me?" Spider-Woman shrugged and said "Yeah, maybe." Peter looked at her in her skintight suit. It was certainly…revealing He began sweating and said "Uhhhh…sorry, lady. But I got someone else in mind."
Spider-Woman hung her head and said "Awww nuts. Tell me who it is, though. I wanna know." Peter shrugged and said "Well…you've probably never heard of her…but her name is Gwen Stacy." Spider-Woman at first had a look of shock, but quickly changed to indifferent as she said "Oh…her? No idea who that even is. But you should tell her, man."
"Me?" he questioned "Asking her out? But she's so pretty…I'm pretty average at best." Spider-Woman looked slightly flustered when he called Gwen pretty, but she punched him in the arm softly and said with a reassuring smile showing through her mask "Don't be so hard on yourself, champ. You're handsome. She'd be stupid to say no. Believe me. You can do it."
Peter nodded and said "You're right…thanks." She grabbed him and said "No problem. Let's get you down." She then swung to the ground, while still holding him. Peter ran off to Gwen's house to tell her about this, and Spider-Woman swung away once more. He finally got there and walked inside. Gwen was in her bedroom, putting back on her baggy green hoody. Pete said "Hi Gwendy." She turned around and said "Hi Pete!" Her eyes were actually visible, well as visible as they were beneath her glasses.
Peter scratched the back of his head and then asked "Well…Gwen…I was wondering something…" Gwen perked up and said "What is it, Petey?" Peter took a deep breath and said "Do you wanna go out or something?" Gwen hugged him and said "I was hoping you ask soon. This is a good time…something to cheer me up during…all of this."
"Well…alright, Gwen. You got your stuff packed up?" he asked her. She held his hand and said "Yeah. Let's go home, Petey…"
