Spidey kept leaping roof from roof looking for Sin-Eater. Spider-Woman then showed up and said "Hey Champ—whoa what's with the rushin'? Oh and nice outfit. It matches mine kind of. The black and white, just add some purple."
He didn't reply. He just kept on walking. "Dude, don't give me the silent treatment!" she said while trying to keep up with him. He still walked along his way, making the occasional leaps between buildings. Eventually Spider-Woman stopped talking and following him, her feelings were pretty hurt at the silent treatment.
Finally, the black suited Spider-Man arrived at a church. Two police officers were investigating the scene. It was Captain DeWolfe and Officer Stan Carter.
"Any sign of Sin-Eater?" DeWolfe asked Carter. Carter shook his head. They kept on searching, but Spidey just crawled on the ceiling, waiting for them to run into something. When he crawled, a slight creak was made.
Officer Carter screamed and then Jean slapped him. "Do you want to make me wish I brought Officer Mulligan here instead of you, Carter?" she demanded. Carter nodded maybe a little. "Get out of here, then." She said, sounding disappointed and angry.
Carter left, and Jean kept looking on her own. Spidey leapt down and she said "Well at least I don't have a useless partner now." Spidey just remained silent. "Not much for talk, are ya?" she asked. He just nodded. She said "Good, talk is small time. Let's get to looking."
Then a shaky voice said "No need to go looking for what's here!" Out stepped Sin-Eater, with his shotgun. DeWolfe then yelled outside "Officer Carter, if you're out there, I need back up!" Sin-Eater gave a sick grin that could be seen through his green ski mask as he said "I'm afraid that Stan won't be joining us this time." He then dropped Carter's police badge and hat.
"You bastard, you killed him!" she yelled at the mad man. He gave a shrug and said "Stan isn't dead, though. He's riiiiiiiight heeeeeeeere." Sin-Eater then removed his mask to reveal Stan WAS the Sin-Eater. Jean stepped back and said "N-no…"
Sin-Eater said "Ohhhh yessss, …I don't like how we get the job done." His shotgun fired, but luckily, the bullets were caught by Spidey in a web. "Thanks for the save, Spidey." DeWolfe said.
Spider-Man then flipped over to the mad Carter and kicked him in the face. Considering this man wasn't very superhuman, he fell over instantly. Sitting in the back of the church was again, Eddie Brock. He looked at Stan Carter unmasked and he thought "No! It can't be him! It's supposed to be that Emil Gregg guy! I-I can't believe this! I won't believe this!"
Eddie then ran over to the Captain and Spidey as he tried to take the body of the knocked out Carter and tried dragging it away. Spidey and DeWolfe looked at him and DeWolfe proclaimed "What do you think you're doing?!"
Eddie said "Savin' my career!" Spidey nonchalantly walked over to Eddie and grabbed him. He webbed the has-been reporter to the ceiling of the church. Eddie continued to yell, and then something happened. Peter beneath the suit had found himself waking up. "What…what the…?" he said under his breath. He just now noticed his was in an abandoned church and that he had been taken there by the suit.
"What's the matter, Spidey?" DeWolfe asked him. He shook his head and said "Nothing. Take Sin-Eater to jail." DeWolfe nodded sadly, looking at the body of Carter. She slapped the cuffs on and walked away, dragging the fallen Sin-Eater.
Spidey crawled up to the bell tower of the church and said "What is wrong with this suit?" The suit started to warble, and then he said "Wait…is this thing…alive?!" The suit warbled more and gripped onto Peter even harder. He tried to remove it, but it wouldn't budge. He tore into the goopy mass, but it did little. "GET OFF!" he demanded the suit. It tried to stick to him, but then the bell rang. The suit hissed and began to move. As the bell continued to ring, it finally removed itself from Peter.
Peter fell onto the ground and backed away on all fours. The suit formed into a huge black beast, the same black beast that he saw in his dreams. Its mass was reaching for Peter, but the bell rang and it just sunk down to the lower areas of the church.
Peter gave a sigh of relief and jumped out the Church's window. He was in just a pair of pants, he had no web shooters, but relief would come in the form of a paper bag blowing in the wind. He grabbed the bag and poked eyeholes into it. The Bombastic Bag-Man was born!
He crawled back up to the roof of the church and instead of swinging he leapt from building to building. Spider-Woman swung by and said "Nice costume change." Peter looked at her and said "Yeah I quite like it myself." She smiled and said "Hey! You're talking to me! Need a lift or something?"
Bag-Man shrugged and said "No thanks. And if I wasn't talking to you and I was in a black suit…I wasn't quite myself then, sorry." Spider-Woman brushed it off and said "Really? What happened with that?" Bag-Man shrugged and said "Well…I got a new suit. But it was…kind of alive, you have a hard time believing this, don't you?" She said "Not at all."
He laughed and said "You know, if I kept it, our costumes would have nearly identical colors. Besides the purple you have." She also laughed. "Yeah, well…I actually said that to you while it was on you."
"Well I don't think we'll have to worry about it again" he said with a reassuring smirk. "Well I hope not, I like talking to you. Anyway, it's late. I better get home! Later, Baggy!" she swung off, beaming that Spidey was back to normal.
But back at the church, Spidey will find that he was quite wrong about never seeing the suit again. When it crawled back into the depths of the church, it crawled alone…until it found the man who also shared a contempt as strong as it did for Spider-Man. That man was Eddie Brock, still tied to the ceiling…
The suit crawled over to Brock and he said "Wh-what the hell is that?!" It continued towards him and attached itself to his free hand, and continued to attach itself. "GET OFF ME!" he screamed. It didn't, it instead continued to form over Eddie. He screamed not with words, but just agonizing screams. He didn't know what it was, and he didn't want to find out either. But he would.
The suit finally fully attached itself and removed Brock from the ceiling. It began to contort over Eddie's already muscular physique and made it far bulkier. It stretched across his face, but what was once a face wasn't. Instead it was a horrible maw of sharp teeth formed into a grin that would make a shark jealous. His were covered into the white lenses, like Spideys suit, but these lenses were more jagged. He grew claws and his hands were given webshooters of his own, but most eye-catching of all was that same spider symbol seen on the black suit Spider-Man.
Eddie howled into the night sky and said "I like this…no…WE like this. And…we finally know the identity of Spider-Man…and he's…Parker? It all makes sense now. He was setting us up! He lied to us! He betrayed us! So did Jameson…we'll get out revenge yet…Spider-Man must DIE! We are no longer Eddie Brock…from now on we are poison to Spider-Man…we are…VENOM!"
