"The Sonic Chao Chronicles New Year's Eve 2013 Comment Special (That should have been Christmas)!"

Swift casually leaned back in his chair while Kingdom Rider92, Edge, Miles, and Spike sat down. "Welcome to the show, ladies and gentlemen of the internet!" Swift greeted. "As 2013 comes to a close, we realized we have yet to do the promised comment special. So, we have decided to wrap this year up epic style!"

"As we wait for the ball to drop, we have decided to take this time to answer questions, comments, and reviews our way," Miles grinned.

"And promise to update this story more in 2014!" Edge said.

"Again, I really do apologize," Kingdom said with a sheepish grin. "So, how about we get started?"

"Finally!" Spike said in relief. "If I had to hold that smile for another twenty seconds, I'd be pissed!"

"Now when did we stop answering reviews?" Swift asked with a question mark.

"I'm going to guess around New Year's Eve two years ago," Miles answered. "Because this is the only time we ever update!"

"Hey!" Kingdom scowled.

"Well," Swift confessed, "of course CHAOS will show up! I mean, he's only the GOD of my entire race!"

"Not to mention a mutant Chao who happens to have the moniker 'The God of Destruction'," Kingdom added. "As for Shadow, well… we have something planned for him. But know this: neither of them will make a full-fledged appearance in First Lap. First Lap is pretty much more-or-less an origin story for Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik… maybe Amy Rose, and what will lead up to Blaze, Team Chaotix, and Rouge the Bat."

"You mean we don't get to see Chaos until he kicks Knuckles' ass?" Spike asked with a swirl of disappointment and anger over his head.

"Nope," Kingdom answered. "You know, now that you mention it, I finally realized why Chaos beats up Knuckles during his first moments of freedom… he's an echidna! And the Echidna Tribe Knuckles would descend from was responsible for attacking his people!"

"Next comment," Spike groaned.

"We try to keep you people entertained," Swift smiled with a heart over his head. "Again, thank you for making an extension of our universe."

"Ahh! You scared me!" Miles gasped, with an exclamation point over his head.

"He scares easily," Swift chuckled.

"You shut up," Miles scowled, a swirl over his head. Turning back to the computer screen, he asked, "Well, can you please keep the pitchfork away? We're very busy."

"Hey, you're third review is an actual question for me!" Swift smiled. After reading the review, he gasped. "Permanently stuck as Sonic? Well… to be honest with you, Miles and Dr. Naka are taking special care of the Morphers. It's actually a concept we've been kicking back and forth… perhaps even something we're going to consider in Season 2 with the perfect character for it. However, we doubt it's going to be Sonic."

"Swift has been in and out of prison," Edge chuckled. "I'm enjoying how funny this is."

"You shut up," the hedgehog Chao scowled with a swirl.

"As for Rouge, we're not one hundred percent sure about her," Edge continued. "We're currently debating whether or not Rogue will get her own episode like in Sonic X."

"Hey, there was nothing wrong with Rogue getting her own episode explaining why she was a government spy," Swift said.

"Then episode it is!" Edge grinned.

"We are truly sorry for the delay," Kingdom nervously grinned.

"We've looked at our version of Card Passer," Swift confessed. "We think we've found an additional main antagonist besides Eggman!"

"What the hedgehog Chao means to say is that after analyzing Passer," Edge explained, "we realized that he's become a much bigger foe for Team Sonic in this story than he probably was in Sonic X's manga adaptation or the actual show itself. Just like how Sam Speed is his usual self mixed in with DC Comics' Jim Gordon, and somewhat funnier. We saw the potential for Passer and the rest of the organization that would be known as S.O.N.I.C.X. to become a major threat to Sonic… only to be reduced to joke status. We figured it would be best to show how dangerous these guys are by showing the one with the most power prior to Sonic's actions ruining his life with actual weaponry and presenting him as a true General Ripper copy. Keep in mind this is an AU, so characters are not one-hundred percent as you would know them from the previous works."

"That said," Kingdom grinned, "if we make you hate Passer, we've done our jobs, right."

"I suppose there are still errors of the old days," Kingdom confessed. "Still, thanks for reviewing!"

Arizona Desert— 19:31

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles finished recharging their Morphers, looking around the desert while Karin sat on a large rock. Due to the Egg Balloon's ascension, they could not continue a realistic pursuit on foot and paused in defeat. "…We were so close to getting Frances out of there!" Sonic yelled, kicking a nearby rock. "Now, Robotnik has her! She's out of the frying pan and into the fire!"

"Sonic, calm down," Knuckles said. "Also, she can control fire… so she should be alright."

"That's another way of saying things for Frances went from bad to worse," Sonic elaborated. "With G.U.N., they would have let her die. With a mad scientist like Robotnik, though? Well, chances are she'll be experimented on. He'll perhaps even turn her into a robot where she'll be forced to fight us."

"You mean like some kind of 'Bunnies to Badniks' kind of way or 'Robocop' kind of way?" Tails asked, not really paying attention to the conversation as he was staring at the horizon.

"Yes," Sonic nodded.

"Okay, is this the Chao side of you?" Karin asked, working on something.

"More or less," Sonic nodded. "What are you two doing, by the way?"

"I'm waiting on the Tornado," Tails answered in a matter-of-fact tone. "I managed to make an autopilot feature that will allow her to come to our location. She'll be low on fuel, but if I ever managed to get that specialized engine working, the Tornado will easily be able to be fueled by Chaos Energy."

"Chaos energy has caused a lot of problems for us," Knuckles sighed.

"I don't see another way of heading after Robotnik if his base is a mobile flying station," Tails replied. "He could be anywhere, by now."

"Or above Las Vegas," Karin spoke up. All three Neo Mobians turned to her. She held up a cell phone with GPS. "Did you guys honestly think I would risk my custom designed Chaos Morpher falling into the wrong hands without a way of tracking it down later? I put a GPS tracking chip in that thing. Robotnik's heading towards Vegas' airspace. If we hurry, we can get Frances and start heading home."

"Dr. Naka… you're a genius," Sonic smiled.

"I try," Karin giggled. "So, when is the plane getting here?"

"There she is," Tails said, looking at the Tornado. As soon as it landed, he said, "So, everybody up for a plane ride over the evening desert?"

The four clambered into the plane, which took off after a moment. Watching them flying away from a safe distance, however, was a familiar agent sitting on top of her "borrowed" combat walker.

"Where are you going, Sonic?" Topaz asked herself, staring at them with a pair of binoculars.

"—with a picture of Daenerys Targaryen from A Song of Fire and Ice," the hedgehog Chao finished. Everyone looked at the hedgehog Chao, confusion evident.

"Swift, did you just cut to a preview of the next episode so we didn't have to talk for five minutes?" Kingdom asked. "And then put in an obligatory Game of Thrones reference?"

"Yes," Swift answered.

"…I don't even…"

"Oh Chaos," Swift groaned. "YES! Frances— while as Sol— is the precursor to Blaze. She's not going to become Blaze for a while, though. You'll see what we do with her. Silver? We're still working the kinks out on him… and we've already answered Shadow will NOT be in season 1."

"Forgive him," Kingdom said. "He's a little on the edge with these topics."

"Literally," Edge groaned, the hedgehog Chao standing on the mouse Chao's back. "Seriously, get off!"

"I'm actually disappointed that Topaz isn't Rouge as well," Kingdom answered. "I WAS, in the original versions of this story, going to have her as Rouge, but then I scrapped it for reasons I forget."

"See, he was going to do it!" Edge promised.

"For your second review," Miles continued, "we couldn't resist taking a potshot at those two guys. Those two are, in the author's opinion, Robotnik's most useless robotic minion duo in any incarnation of the Sonic franchise. While Decoe and Bocoe from Sonic X were pretty ineffective and humorous, they at least had some use. That's why Kingdom went with them over their predecessors. Why not Orbot and Cubot, though? Well, they're funny, but they didn't exist as a duo until Sonic Colors, by which this story had been around."

"We make no plans to kill off Decoe and Bocoe," Swift said. "For your third review, we figured it would be funnier and less 'riot time' if we went and bitched at him until he got on track for you."

"For your fourth review," Edge added, "Swift and Frances just kicked the names around a bit. We're aware of Iblis being a villainous name... which was why we didn't go with it. In fact, her original name was going to be 'Wildfire'."

"We're also not sure who named their kid 'Card', but I'm going to guess that's a nickname," Swift shrugged. "Either way, I don't like him."

"And hello to you!" Spike smiled.

"Uh, Spike, you were supposed to answer the review?" Miles commented.

"Well, she likes it," Spike answered. "That's literally all I got."

"Don't you mean 'Resolution'?" Miles asked with a question mark over his head.

"I know what I said," Edge answered.

"Oh Chaos, I'm the token good teammate, here," the kitsune Chao groaned with a swirl over his head.

"Again, we still apologize for delays," Spike said. "Real life kicks the author where the sun doesn't shine."

"THE OC CONTEST!" all four Chao gasped, horrified.

"Oh, right," Kingdom said. "Well, as far as everyone knows, it's still actually going on. We've never removed the rules and the bio sheet from my profile, so feel free to use those if anyone is interested."

"To answer the 'Sonic Battle' arc question," Spike answered. "We are aware of the fact that they brought Emerl on and killed him off ridiculously quickly in a cheap tournament arc. I don't mind Cream shooting the dog, here, since she is clearly devastated by it and in the actual game itself Sonic is reluctant to do so as well, only doing so when it's clear that nothing else will stop Emerl. Well, we've been debating about the Emerl arc, and the only thing we can really do with Emerl is a tournament arc… but rather than the traditional 'martial arts' style tournament you'd see in Dragon Ball… we're probably going to do something a little bit more destructive."

"If you've seen something like 'Law of Talos'," Miles explained, "you'll have a bit more of an idea what we're going to do."

"Though being credited WOULD be nice," Edge grinned.

"Stop that, mouse Chao," Kingdom scolded.

"I'm pretty sure he's a guy," Edge chuckled. "Anyway, we inspired you to write something like that? Cool! Can we get a link or title to look up?"

"As for new Chao species," Kingdom said, "I'm thinking about what the Sol Emeralds' equivalent would be. 'Sol' is Spanish for 'sun'… so we have a bit to think about."

"That's… mildly better," Miles complimented.

"Okay, perhaps… I bid thee all in the kingdom a good day!"

"I think that works!" Spike complimented. "See you, guys!"
