"Wait…WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Peter asked while shaking the walky-talky.
On the other line was hyper ventilating and held back crying. "I said…I can't feel my legs."
Peter gripped the walky-talky. "I'm coming, buddy…" he said as threw it, and swung into Carnage's den and web yanked Flash. Carnage looked at Spidey. "Oh don't worry, your legs will make the CUT too, man!" He then laughed maniacally.
"In your dreams, Kasady!" Spidey said as he strapped Flash's jetpack and jetted out through a window. He then crashed back into Manhattan, which was, big surprise, still in ruin.
He picked himself back up from the pavement and made his way back to Oscorp. He kicked down the door and waiting there was Gwen. She was about ready to hug Peter, but then she noticed he was holding Flash.
She looked down at Flash and asked "Is he okay?"
Preter shook his head. "He's alive." He began "But his legs aren't in…working condition anymore."
Before they could continue, a voice popped up on the speakers, it was once again Roderick Kingsley. "Remember to pay for your stay here! Supplies aren't free!"
Both Gwen and Peter gave a look of disgust and Peter asked "He's making people pay for their safety?"
Nick Fury appeared again. "Afraid so. Only reason you and your Spider-Friends are here is because Tony Stark was generous enough to pay for your stay."
Gwen smiled slightly. "Well tell him we said thanks."
Peter was not so quick to say thanks instead he asked "Where are and the Avengers anyway?"
"They're in Latveria, kid." Fury explained "Investigating what their leader is doing. Quite good timing for Carnage, if they were right now, then we'd have this cleaned up by now. But they aren't, and we don't have time to wait."
Peter slightly grimaced, but he understood. "Alright, Fury. Look, we need to take care of Flash."
"I noticed. I'll get him to the infirmary. I've seen this before, he might not be able to walk again, but he'll live." Nick spoke as he took hold of Flash and walked away.
Peter shook his head. "What is this city coming to?"
"I dunno, Pete." Gwen responded "But still though. I'm glad you're okay. You have no idea how worried I was while you were out there."
Deep in the Oscorp labs, a scientist looked at a sample of Eddie Brock's blood. "Hmmm…very interesting, it appears there are bits of symbiote in here." He continued to study the sample closely.
Eddie then asked "Can we manufacture a cure outta this thing, Doc?"
"Well I think so" the scientist began "But I think it might take a while. Like all vaccines, this sample should help us making something better."
After minute of tinkering with the blood sample…it turned white. All of it turned a pure white. Eddie looked at the sample and asked "What the hell happened, Doc?"
The doctor then opened the sample and said "Only one way to find out…"
The white liquid moved on its own! How peculiar. What it did was move towards Eddie, and found its way into his skin. Then it happened. The symbiote on Eddie instantly deterred from this thing, and merged with him.
The scientist looked at Eddie's arm curiously. "Looks like we lost the cu—"
Then white ooze began to cover Eddie. Spikes grew from his back, a black spider-symbol covered his chest and legs, finally his eyes and mouth began to glow yellow as the white and black ooze covered his face.
He looked at himself and he grinned. "Looks like now…I am the cure. This is a new lease on life!"
The doctor got back up and looked upon Eddie with astonishment. "You...you're some kind of…"
"Some kind of ANTI-VENOM!" he proclaimed as he flexed. "I can feel all the impurities leave my body, Doc. I've never felt this clean. I feel good…I no longer refer to myself as we. This suit and I…have reached compromise."
"Impressive…" the doctor said as the old Venom symbiote leapt into the vial this Anti-Venom was once it. "It appears your suit is a natural deterrent!"
Anti-Venom beamed and once again flexed. "This is great! I can clean this city!"
Hobgoblin stepped down the stairs and said "Oh, no you don't. Not yet. I am going to be the one who cleans this city!"
Anti-Venom snarled and glared at the orange and blue clad conman. "You don't get word in this, Kingsley. I can smell your corruption."
Kingsley snarled back at him and very much returned the glare. "Look, Brock. This is great! I'm able to tax everybody for everything."
"And that's sick!" Anti-Venom proclaimed.
"It's not sick it's making a profit" Kingsley replied smugly "They should be considered lucky I don't take it all."
Anti-Venom then roared in rage. "You're taking the money from the innocent who need defense! They need protection! And most of all…they need their city back!"
"They'll get their city back!" Hobby yelled "But only when they trust me and give the city to me. That's how it works."
Anti-Venom slammed Kingsley into the wall and ran out of the lab.
Hobgoblin got on the speaker on said "Excuse me Oscorp patrons…but we have a large escaped experiment running around. It would be nice if some of the heroes around here put a stop to it if you would! Thank you!"
Anti-Venom continued running until he reached the front doors. There he met with Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Silk, and Scarlet Spider.
"What are you all doing?!" Anti-Venom hissed as he tried to made his way out the door without hurting them.
"What are you doing, Eddie?" Peter growled back at him. "By the way nice new look. But it's not fooling anybody."
"Whose it trying to fool, Parker?!" Eddie screeched "You're all pawns to Kingsley. He's playing you so he can look like the hero of this city!"
Cindy nodded in agreement. "He kept me and Ben imprisoned even though he knew we were in there!"
Ben agreed with Cindy. "She's right. Kingsley is a monster putting on a show for the masses."
"You can't honestly side with this guy, can you?!" Gwen yelled in frustration.
"She's right he's tried to kill us!" Peter added.
Eddie frowned and scratched the back of his head. "Look. Peter…Gwen…I'm sorry for doing what I did. I had issues! Issues I'm still working out! But I'm able to destroy Carnage. Just let me do this…"
Back in the mean streets of New York, Patrick Mulligan woke up again to find mutated people trying to rip into him, but the symbiote protected him.
Pat screamed and kicked away the mutants as he got back up. The symbiote covered him again. Unlike other symbiotes, he didn't show off his mouth. It was just the pure white lenses.
"This suit…" he thought to himself. "It's given me abilities. Like Carnage? Hopefully I don't become like him."
He started crawling up the side of a building when he heard someone say "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"
He looked down to see Captain DeWolff pointing a gun at him.
Patrick leaped down from the side of the building and said "Wait! Captain don't shoot!" The symbiote peeled back revealing Mulligan's face.
"Pat…is that really you?" she asked as she stepped slowly to him.
Pat stepped closer to her and said "Yeah. It's me, Captain. Whatever infected these people…I think I got a bit more than they did."
Jean scratched the back of her neck and looked at him. "Yeah…I'll say."
Then out of nowhere BLAM. Jean DeWolff had been shot in the back.
Patrick managed to stop her from falling, but he couldn't pick up a pulse. He looked down at her and panicked. "Don't die on me, chief! Don't die on me! C'mon chief! Don't die on me!"
When he looked back up, he saw the Sin-Eater aiming his shotgun at him. "All sinners must die like the vermin they are."
"You…you…YOU KILLED AN INNOCENT POLICE WOMAN!" Pat screamed as he bared his fangs and his green tongue gouged out.
"Nobody's innocent. The toxin of the streets must be cleansed. I am that cleanser." Sin-Eater said as he fired the shotgun at Pat.
"YOU WANNA SEE TOXIN?!" Pat hissed as his claws grew "I'LL SHOW YOU TOXIN!"
Pat, or as he called himself now Toxin, tackled Sin-Eater and dug his claws into his flesh. He ripped him to pieces as the green ski-masked villain screamed in agony.
It was over, and Toxin reverted back to his smaller size. "What…what have I done?" he thought to himself as he looked at his bloodied, black hands.
"I killed him…but he deserved it. He deserved it!" Pat thought in denial. Maybe he was right. Maybe he was wrong. It all depends on your code of morals.
Back at Oscorp, Peter and Gwen finally decided that maybe Eddie Brock was right.
"We'll go, Eddie." Peter said with a disgusted look, as if still untrusting of him. "But if you try anything…"
"I won't!" Anti-Venom promised. "I ain't bad anymore! I mean it!"
Gwen squinted at him. Not exactly trusting, but beginning to become trusting. "I'll come too."
Hobgoblin looked at them conspiring and said to another person dressed as Hobgoblin "It's clear we ain't got time. Get out the Spider-Slayer now. We can use it to destroy both Carnage and perhaps rid of them in 'an accident.' Got it?"
The henchman nodded. "Good. We can't have this plan failing just because of a few outwardly spiders. The masses need me! And I need their money! This time, the Hobgoblin goes all out."
A man in a trench coat had been standing next to both Hobgoblins, and appeared to have been listening in. He stepped away from the door and followed the Spiders and Anti-Venom out the door…
