Osborn sprinted towards Spidey and Spidey leapt above the green behemoth. His hand touched Osborn's back mid leap, but had to instantly remove it because of the flames that surrounded it. He took a dive and rolled onto the ground.
Debris of the building, the street, and the Slayer surrounded them. Osborn picked Spidey up and slammed him into the ground. "HAHAHAHAHAH! YOU CAN'T WIN THIS!" Osborn boasted as he picked Parker back up.
Parker punched Osborn in the teeth and he let go of him. Spidey tried running away, but he tripped and fell onto the concrete. Osborn walked over to him and picked him up. "Did you really think you could win this ALONE?"
Ock then appeared. "He doesn't need to fight this alone, Osborn!"
Osborn turned his head and laughed "Look at you! Playing the hero! Trying to make up for past misdeeds?"
Peter smiled at Otto. "You…survived the explosion…"
Otto nodded as got into a battle stance. "I'm ready to fight, Goblin!"
Norman laughed and threw Spidey into a truck. "Oh I'll save you for later, Parker. I always wanted to put an end to my insubordinate employee!"
Otto grabbed Osborn by the arm, but Goblin pulled him up and sneered right to his black lenses. "You're reign as Spider-Man ends here."
Then he felt someone else tugging on his arm. It was Ben! He had gotten up from Osborn's retaliation. Osborn growled as his arm alit with fight! "WHY WON'T YOU GIVE UP!?"
"Giving in…isn't my style…" Ben said as he continued grabbing onto the arm, even as it was burning.
Soon others got back up. Silk grabbed onto Osborn's leg, Gwen grabbed the other, Toxin tried attacking his chest, and Carnage went for the back. Osborn then blew them all away in an explosion of fire.
He started really getting pissed now. "YOU ALL WON'T STAY DOWN! SO I'LL MAKE YOU STAY DOWN!"
They tried grouping around him, but it didn't work. Each time they did he just pushed them further away! "I AM THE ULTIMATE IN CREATION! I AM THE ULTIMATE IN LIFE! I AM THE GREEN GOBLIN!"
"Your delusions in grandeur end here!" Gwen said as she tried to hit him, but each hit was a no sell. Despite all of her power, she was no match for him. He kicked her away and laughed.
Ben then ran up to Osborn and tried his own shot. He failed as well and Osborn threw him into a passing by car. He continued to laugh. Toxin fared better than the others, but his weakness to fire deterred him, same goes for Carnage and Agent Venom.
He chortled at his fallen enemies. Silk glared at him. She was hurt a lot by Osborn, and she wanted to rectify that, but despite her efforts, she was brought down swiftly as he stomped her into the ground.
"IS THAT IT?!" he asked as he looked to the sky. "NO ONE ELSE DARE OPPOSE OSBORN?!"
It was about this time the swat team showed up. He looked at them and laughed. "IS THIS IT?! IS THIS ALL YOU HAVE TO OPPOSE ME?!"
The swat team starts firing their guns and Osborn laughed off their gunfire. "THIS ALL YOU HAVE?! THIS IS ALL YOU CAN DO?! THIS IS ALL YOU'VE GOT?! THIS IS A PATHETIC MOCKERY!"
Osborn rammed into the swat members, and took down each and every person. A helicopter flew in, but he just threw the swat van at it. "A WANT A WORTHY CHALLENGE! GIVE ME…A WORTHY CHALLENGE! ONE WORTHY OF OSBORN!"
Then that's when the only person in the entire Spider-Group who COULD oppose Osborn got back up. It was Anti-Venom. He grinned and turned to Osborn. "You want a challenge, eh? How about the very thing you created?"
"GIVE ME YOUR BEST SHOT, BEAST!" Osborn boasted as he laughed. Anti-Venom ran up to Osborn and the two began trading blows with each other, each of their hits barely affecting each other.
Anti-Venom dug his claws into the Goblin and the Goblin dug his claws into Anti-Venom. The white ooze covered Osborn's hand and Brock's hand formed into a large fist that he used to smash Osborn with.
Osborn was taken aback by this hit, but he then ran back to Anti-Venom and slammed him into the ground, leaving in imprint in the concrete. Anti-Venom got right back up and slammed Osborn into the side of a building. Osborn then slammed Anti-Venom into the same building. This process repeated after a while until the two began to grow tired.
Anti-Venom knew this was the perfect time to strike, and he tried to cure Osborn of the serum's effects. Norman pushed Anti-Venom's curing touch away and kicked him into a truck, causing the truck AND Anti-Venom to slam into another nearby building.
Osborn leapt over to the building and began wailing on Anti-Venom. Just punching and slashing him as he lied down upon the ground. He laughed and he laughed, but then he laughed no more, for he was soon met with a stop sign slamming right into his back.
Osborn screeched as he turned around. There was Peter Parker himself, lugging around the stop sign, as if it felt way heavier than it should have felt to him. Osborn picked him back up. "What is this…TEAMWORK? You need TEAMWORK to even imagine beating me? Pathetic! Needing the help of others is the MOST pathetic thing you can ever need!"
"You're just mad because nobody wants to help you…" Peter grumbled as he spat in Osborn's face.
Osborn sneered and squinted at this action, and was about ready to slam Parker into the wall, but then something happened.
He felt it the cure was running all in him. As he was distracted by Parker, he began to depower. He could feel each and every spike recline back into his body. He screamed in agony and fell on his knees. The fire that ran through his heated body dissipated. He let go of Parker and grasped his head. He knew he had lost but he couldn't accept it. All that was left of the Goblin serum were mere side-effects, such as scales scattered across his now pale green skin, a tiny amount of small spikes found on his hands and shoulders.
Other than all of that, Osborn was basically human again, a human at peak physical form, but a mere human. He lied on the ground. Anti-Venom stood over the body and grinned "Where's your crown, King Nothing?" he jokingly asked.
Osborn got back up and tried to grapple with Anti-Venom, but it remained pointless. Anti-Venom just held him up into the air as he struggled. "LET ME GO, BEAST! I AM OSBORN! I AM…THE ULTIMATE…CREATURE!"
Osborn finally broke into tears over his defeat. Here he was, on top of the world the previous day, but now he had been humiliated in front of the city that once considered him a hero. He continued to cry, but then to make matters worse Spidey walked up to him and punched him in the gut.
Anti-Venom then let go of Osborn and let him fall on his knees. He just stood there as he continued to bawl.
"Pathetic, isn't it Eddie?" Peter asked his white clad friend.
Eddie nodded in agreement. "Real sad. But I still don't feel one bit of sympathy for him."
Peter glared at his enemy and scowled. "Normally I would…but not for him."
Norman growled and tried to attack Peter, but he was promptly punched in the jaw. Norman took the hit and fell upon the ground once more. This time, he chose to stay down.
A paddy wagon then drove onto the scene and picked Osborn up, and promptly took him away to Ryker's Island. Anti-Venom and Peter stood there amongst the fire and looked to the sky. The sun was beginning to rise up. This entire venture had taken them all night.
Eddie and Peter sat down and watched the sunrise, pretty much all of their animosity had been gone by now. They were no longer enemies, but they were pals.
Peter asked him "Isn't it funny?"
Eddie turned to Peter and asked "What's funny?"
"Just…this. A month or so ago…we hated each other…" Peter explained "But now we're buddies. Isn't it just…"
"It's nice." Eddie said. "I learned to let go."
Eddie then asked him "Hey, where's Felicia?"
Peter then replied "We decided it'd be the best if she stayed home. A none superpowered individual like here going on this outing would've been suicide."
"Good point." Eddie replied.
"Should we wake the others up?" Peter asked as he looked at his fallen friends.
"Let's carry 'em home if we can…they need this rest." Eddie protested as he got up.
Peter nodded in agreement and stood up himself. They carried each and every one to the Avenger's Mansion, where nobody was home. The Avengers and all the other heroes in town had decided to move across the country, leaving the Spiders in New York.
The mansion was all but abandoned, but it'd make a fine home. Fury even said they could stay there with the Avengers gone, and they did. There they finally rested up after their tough battle. It took many hours of sleep and some more of relaxation, but they recovered…
I don't normally do this, but coming up next is: The Epilogue, which will just be a short little conclusion thing that I do and maybe a final Author's Note that might explain some questions you might have...
