Hello readers! Yes it is me. I do apologise for the long wait but I had writers block and had many things going on. I hope you're not angry at me.
I hope you enjoy this chapter anyhow, sorry it has taken me ages to update, but hey I shall not keep you any longer. Enjoy!
"Trim that sail!" Barbossa ordered to the crew of the Black Pearl.
"Trim that sail!" Jack echoed following Barbossa, trying his hardest to get his voice heard and his rightful place of captain back from him. He had always hated that sly weasel ever since he put his feet upon the Pearl's deck, Jack never really trusted him. His trust had been tested many times before but Barbossa had beaten them and it made Jack never trust the man ever again.
"Slack windward brace and sheets!" Barbossa quickly added to his orders, but again he heard Jack echoing his orders. Their history hadn't been the best, but he knew he was far better than Jack. Jack had led them to dead ends and nearly to the gallows, Barbossa weren't willing to see the rope any time nor his maker, he'd been to the other side and he was grateful for being back with the living, well if they ever get back to the living world, they were still in Davy Jones Locker and it was no pretty. "Haul that Pallet line!" He quickly ordered but hearing Jack echo what he said he stopped and glared at the younger captain. "What ARE you doing?"
"What are YOU doing?" Jack asked in respond.
"No what ARE you doing?" Barbossa asked again.
"What are YOU doing?" Jack asked again but he quickly added: "The captain gives orders on the ship!"
"The captain is giving orders."
"My ship, makes me captain!"
"They be my charts." Barabossa argued lifting up the charts.
"That makes you chart man!"
"Stow it! The both of you! understand?" Pintel shouted at them making them both stare at him confused and dazed. Sensing their anger he quickly added it a much calmer tone: "Sorry. I just thought with the captain issue being in doubt, I'd throw my name in for consideration."
A few seconds passed, leaving both captains to shuffle their way to the helm, leaving the embarrassed Pintel to recover, thankful they didn't say anything. Hearing his old friend say: "I'd vote for ya." Made him turn to him and smile.
"Yeah?" Pintel say before letting out a sigh.
Ragetti looked up to the helm to see in time Barboassa show his big spy glass and saw Jack stare with jealousy. He brought out his small one and looked through it but gave up as it weren't grander than Barbossa's.
Below deck things were even more tensed, the young supposed to be couple were together for the first time since they could remember. They both could feel their anger for leaving each other out of their plans, heartache of destroying what they have had hidden since they been young, guilt for not telling the truth and dragging what they had before through the trenches of their own war, all things which they both wished could just disappear. They wished for many things but one being in each other arms once again, to feel freedom and to show their love but many implications prevented for all to happen. They didn't know what hurted the most, to lie or the things which stopped them from going forward? They both questioned if all couples kept secretes from each other, but they knew not all couples had to face what they had to face nor keep their kind of secretes away, they were one unique team. Was. Before they were spilt up and were made to hide everything way. It killed them both inside. It killed them seeing the other being hurt but what they did was not the other's concern. Was this ever going to be over, or is this their future if they survive this war?
"You left Jack to the Kracken?" Will asked.
"He's rescued now, it's done with." Elizabeth replied. "Will, I had no choice."
"You chose not to tell me."
"I couldn't. It wasn't your burden to bear." Elizabeth stated, she wished William could see why she had to do it, to see it from her point of view yet it was very hard too. These past weeks had been hard for everyone but she had been alone, her mind had been on her father, worried for him knowing she had endanger him by running away, she wished she could have done something than run away but she needed to find William to be far away from the place where she once felt safe and called home. Home. She hadn't seen Port Royal since she left, it was funny, when she was younger she dreamt of leaving the place and to be away from all the orders of the high blood life but these past weeks, well being kidnapped by Barbossa's crew she had seen many things and heard many things which can only be true in nightmares, it all made her think on what she really wanted. These past weeks, she wanted to be with her father again, to be at home, to be with William and to have Danielle near so they could look after her, she asked for so little but they seemed impossible to gain. History having a massive part to play in all lives, all had their experience in heartache and hiding things away from those they love. Everything was now more complicated. There was more people in the way. A war brewing. Words spreading. Heartache overloading.
"But I did bear it, didn't I?" Will asked, stuck in the middle of what side to chose. One side he had his life with Elizabeth, something which he had dreamed for many years, the life which would be full of happiness and love, ( what he hoped it be like after everything but doubt filled him). The other side was his life with his new found long lost father, the man who tried to do good, to fix what he did wrong but got cursed himself and sent to a place which was hell on earth. A hundred years at the mast, Will knew he had done stupid things in his life time but there was no worse punishment then to have a captain like Davy Jones and to share his misery. He wanted both but he knew he couldn't. He had to gain to lose one, the unfair deal he had to take but which was he going to take? He didn't know. He wished he didn't have to choose but the time was coming up to them all, and time will have to tell. "I just didn't know what it was. I thought..."
"You thought I loved him." Elizabeth said cutting him off, understanding his coldness and heartache. She walked forward to leave but Will grabbed her and pinned her against the mast.
"If you make your choices alone, how can I trust you?" Will asked, clearly broken.
"You can't." She plainly answered.
Hearing those words, Will let her go and didn't watch her leave. He was truly stuck in the middle. Wanting both was killing him inside. Doubt and heartache filled him. Thoughts of those he loved kept him a wake most of the night. He felt selfish for thinking of one more than the other but he couldn't help himself. Both were important in his live, he hadn't seen his father since he left him back in London, he used to blame him for his own mother's death but hearing what he had to go through and that he was sorry made William think of his own actions if he was in his father's shoes. Elizabeth was his love, he wanted nothing more but have her in his arms, even when it seemed impossible for her to fall in love with him he didn't care, his love drove him on. When he finally got Elizabeth, his actions were questioned and forced to leave her behind to find Sparrow. Sparrow, Beckett, Jones, Barbossa all have kept him away from Elizabeth, he had to fight for her once and he was prepared to fight for her again but then he had to lose his father.
He turned around and slid to the floor, resting his back on the mast. One arm rested on his leg while the other held the knife which his father gave him, the one which he promised he will make him a freeman once more. Only the lucky ones are free when alive, most a free when six feet under, but he wanted his father alive and to be free. The only way to do so is to kill Jones but the Dutchman always needs a captain, meaning only one day in ten years he could step on land and maybe to see his love, a huge strain on anyone but was Elizabeth willing to take it so they could be together? He knew it was a huge thing to ask anyone and would understand if she didn't want to take it, she needed to lead her own life, to be with her own people.
Letting out a sigh, he's mind went onto his cousin Danielle. Dead. He couldn't believe she was gone. She had her ideas and feelings of doing it herself but he stopped her from going that far but the past was too big to control for them all to handle, to give her the right comfort and love but she was Danielle Turner, she was a fighter and didn't like being made feel small nor have people to care for her. Many times she had cried to William, confessing her feelings, hating herself for feeling these feelings and wished she was dead, not wanting to bring harm to people she loved. Those were the times where William saw the other side of his cousin, the side which scared him, the side which wanted him to hold her tight and wish all the pain went away, the side which told him the truth and what lurked inside. Danielle, another person he had lost. Nearly all the Turners were gone, he thought it was going to Danielle and him until the very last day. They had been through a lot together, she had saved him from being killed many times and he had saved her from killing herself enough times to the day the Kracken pulled her down below the waters and to her watery grave.
Hearing many pairs of footsteps on the main deck and a someone shouting about a body in boat, made William look up to the stairs which lead to the the deck. Confusion showed on his face. He put his knife away and stood up, before walk up the stairs to be struck by surprise, confusion and panic.
Ragetti ran to the the starboard side of the ship. All his emotions were mixed up, he paused as a small group of pirates gathered around the person. He heard Gibbs shout about the body in the boat but hearing who it was, he drowned out everything else. He didn't want to get his hopes up as it was too good to be true, it could be God playing tricks on him for his evil ways, but ehe didn't care.
Two pirates looked up to see Ragetti and quickly moved out the way. Seeing the familiar face, the one he wished to see again, the one which he dreamed about every night, the one he pictured in his mind and the one which he missed, he fell to his knees, his feelings over powering him. He quickly but gently reached his hands towards the body of Danielle and scooped her up, so she was leaning against him. He cradled her top half like a baby. He felt tears run down his face, in that moment he didn't care who saw him cry, he had Danielle back in his arms again! Questions filled him, he saw nothing of injuries or blood, she looked like how she did before she was taken by the Kracken. Confusion filled him but he was just glad she was back to him, half alive. He guessed she was unconscious. Before resting her body on the floor, he brought her near to his chest and held her tighter scared if he let go she will disappear again!
"Ragetti...she may be..."
"She's not. She is alive." Ragetti said cutting Jack off. "She is just unconscious." He looked up and stared at the captain. "Why can't she be alive, you are. Everyone has what they want except for me. Except for Danielle and I. Life is precious captain and so is love, you have your life and your love, the Pearl I mean, my love is Danielle and would give my life for her." He quickly turned to Calypso. "Can you do anything, to help?"
Calypso quickly kneeled beside Danielle's body and shook her shoulders gently and called out to her, a few seconds of desperation their ears picked up on a soft groan of pain. Ragetti smiled thankfully and more tears flowed down his dirty cheeks. Seeing Danielle's brown eyes he couldn't help but cry! Weeks he had been thinking he was all alone. Weeks thinking she was gone from out of his life. Their future was finally back and this time he wasn't going to let her go out from his sight.
He helped her up and let his hands wrap around her body, bringing her in a hug. He felt her arms wrap around his and her heart beat against his. He placed a kiss on top of her head, he didn't want to let her go but he knew the others wanted to see her. Letting go, he watched as Jack, Will and Elizabeth all hugged her, thankful she was alive but all was confused but they had to wait until later to find out.
"Crew get back to work." Ragetti heard Barbossa order.
He stared at him and saw he was staring at him with unreadable eyes before descending to the stairs of the helm. Jack quickly followed not wanting Barbossa to take over the Pearl.
"What's with those two?" He heard Danielle ask.
"Oh the whole who is captain thing is cropped up again." Ragetti stated before turning to stare at Danielle. He let his hand brush her hair behind her ear and lift her chin. He placed a kiss upon her lips and stared deeply into her eyes. "I've missed you so much Danni. I've gone mad! I even argued with Barbossa and shouted at Jack..." He was cut off as Danielle pressed her lips upon his, he couldn't help but kiss her back, before they could lead into anything further they both broke off and stared at each other.
"You argued with Barbossa and shouted at Jack? I quite like it." Danielle said teasingly. "I've missed you too Ragetti, I know it seems crazy for me being...alive and standing here, which I must ask, how is the Pearl all in good shape, last time it was being attacked and being destroyed."
"In all good time." Ragetti replied and held her hand, leading her to the cabin.
"Time is something precious and I'm afraid we don't have a lot of it."
Danielle felt everyone's confusion, pain and her own feelings as she stood in Jack's cabin. She noticed Elizabeth was sitting far away from Will, Jack seemed to have won the battle with his chair with Barbossa as he sat comfortably behind his desk, while Barbossa leaned off the desk his arms crossed across his chest and his legs crossed at the ankles. Pintel and Ragetti sat next to each other, Tia stood near the window and Mr Gibbs sat near the door.
"Just like last time." Danielle muttered to herself, remembering when Elizabeth, Charlie and her found Jack and the crew in Tortuga and she had to explain herself to the others what was going on. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes for a few seconds before realising her feelings which had been locked up for a few days and opened her eyes. "I know it seems weird to see me alive...well maybe not because here you stand Barbossa, the ghost from the past and I before I was told you were all ghosts to me as I saw the Pearl being dragged under by the Kracken. I should start at the beinging."
Within an hour or so Danielle was finished talking, she told them all about how she escaped from the Kracken, was a prisoner on the Dutchman, then on the Endeavour, she could feel all their tension when she spoke of such ships and the men who were in charge, she spoke of her uncle Bill and that he was losing his mind, he was soon becoming of the ship! She spoke of Beckett's plans and his plan for war, he had Jones on his side meaning they were going to win.
Silence filled the room, she knew they had questions but she had her own. She was very basic at times because she didn't know all that great detail or it would waste time. They all knew war was brewing but it was in their lifetime which it was going to happen. They had strong pirates on their side including themselves but they were no match to Jones, the Company they could deal with but many ships against so little, was there any hope?
"So he is back." Jack stated plainly.
"And he wants to control the sea." Gibbs stated.
"He has Jones, Jack, we have no chance." Danielle stated.
"Only a fools chance." He stated with a smirk.
"I'm not sailing the Pearl into war!" Barbossa said.
"Then why are you captain?" Danielle asked. "You've been in many battles but that is when you had the curse, but you're a bloody pirate and it is your life that is stake here, not those who live on land nor those in power. It is ours. Every. Single. Pirates. Life. We got to fight for it, if not then what else is there?"
"You're mad than Jack." Barbossa stated angrily before pushing himself off the desk and pushed passed Danielle, slamming the door behind him.
"War is what people go in, if they want to gain anything from it" Tia said, bringing back everyone in the room. "War we've all been in, though no one sees our scares nor the battle we go through, but we know from ourselves that we have to fight to survive each day. People fight for love, for freedom, for power and for people they love, they will do anything within their power to do win, what will you do?"
"You can win war not just by fighting." Jack said.
"You can't reason with him Jack, you should have learned from last time." Elizabeth stated. "He does the devil's work and gets all the credit, I'm shocked the devil hasn't killed him yet."
"We have to fight of course." Will stated which got Gibbs, Pintel and Ragetti nodding with agreement. "There's no way out Jack, you cannot run away from this one. Show you a truly a pirate and fight for your freedom."
Danielle smiled, as he reminded her of old self when she used to be Daniel Turner, he had truly changed to a man, having no guidance or help from anyone but Danielle, William had done well. He was standing on his own feet. She saw what he did for the ones he loved and for his own freedom, she was proud of him, something she didn't show that often but planned to do if they get out alive. They were finally reunited again but in be trapped by war, war of freedom of the pirate world and the other which they fight alone and hide away from the world; love being what they fight for, feelings which confuse them, what they did for love was greater than their words.
"Aren't we pirates? We breathe and live the sea, we are the sea. We had controlled the waters for many centuries, all before these men of the Company started. Now they propose a war against us but they know nothing of what he know. We know the waters better than them. It is our home. It is our freedom. It is our future." Danielle said clearly. She stared at each person of the room and then to Jack. "Are you really going to let the world which you were born and grew up in to be killed? To let everyone you know die? To have their freedom end? We all made our choice what is yours Jack?"
Jack just stared at her. She noticed many eyes upon her and Jack himself, she was truly back, which made an impact in their lives. She was angry with Jack for not acting upon this, she was angry at the monster and what he put her through and now what he had planned for the pirate world but most of all she was angry at herself, for hiding things from them all, she wished she could express herself easily, but when she wanted to say how she felt she could feel it at the back of her throat; choking her like a noose around her neck. Many times it made her frustrated, it made her turn on herself. Times she thought it would get better but they were at war and it challenged everyone, challenged everyone's heart, mind and their freedom.
Hearing no answer she walked out and stood at the rail, staring at the dark sky. She guessed she was in Davy Jones locker as well, she was live but within a dead world, it felt strange. It was quiet. Held no feelings of joy, nor feelings of sad just plain. It was worse than death itself, you are alive but dead at the same time. Mad. Anyone could easily go mad in this place. Letting out a sigh, she leaned against the rail. She needed to tell Ragetti the truth but it was just how to tell him. It will crush him but it will hurt him more if he knew she had hidden it away from him. In the cabin, she could feel his anger when she mentioned the monster and what he was planning, they both wished death to the man or to themselves and not being in his company. Her heart was full of guilt but thinking of Theo, the anchor which was tied around the organ dragged it even more in the pool of guilt. He had helped her escape. He had put his life on the line so many times, she was in his debt. She couldn't remember anything except their goodbye and jumped onto the rowing boat but she had hit her head on the wood knocking her out.
Jack sat in his cabin alone. Alone with his thoughts. He had a rum bottle in his hand and he had drunk from it but his thoughts were stopping his from enjoying the drink. So here he was again. By himself. To plan what he needed to do. Many eyes looked up to him, a few cursed his name, a handful didn't know him and more than a handful knew his charm. That was his way of life, to sail around the world, to know his name known and to tell stories about his adventures. Not got to war and but it all at risk. That weren't how Captain Jack Sparrow did things but what of Jack Sparrow? He would have seen this coming before, maybe he did but turn a blind eye to it or maybe he was truly lost in the world? He did feel lost, though he felt much alive. Being in the locker, it had made him think, made him reflect on his actions, something which he dwelled on many times by himself in the living world, it seemed the locker had brought out his secretes; the person he used to be, the person which he can be, the person he fought with many times a night.
A war was brewing. He was pirate and he needed to fight, but he would miss life too much. He let out a sigh and took a sip from his drink. He would normally say 'it will look better in the morning' but this time it was different. It was war, a thing which changes everything, only one side will win, everyone will be pushed to their depths, everything will be challenged and what of the losing side, what comes of the survivors? War was not thing to be messed, nor was Beckett, nor was life. Death was waiting to claiming anyone who falls. Death not caring who it was only satisfied he claimed a life.
"You see Jacky, in death everyone is the same." He muttered to himself before taking another sip.
