Really sorry this has taken a ridiculous amount of time, as always life has just gotten in the way. Will be trying to upload weekly again, hopefully there is still an audience for Lenny and Jax.

Jax sat on the roof on Teller-Morrow garage, it was his place of calm and solitude, a haven almost. His father's manuscript lay at his feet as he puffed on another cigarette, the manuscript had been a source of contention within Jax since he found it as he had not known what was best for his club. Hell, Jackson Teller didn't know what was best for himself and his kid or old lady these days, let alone his club.
They had been back from their trip to confront Hayes in Arizona some 2 weeks now, Gina had been staying with Bobby along with Lenny who had been enjoying the company of her mother which was a foreign concept for both mother and daughter and even though Lenny had spent the rest of those two weeks at Teller-Morrow Jax hadn't seen her. He had almost made it a priority to avoid her, seeing exactly what life he had to offer her had made him distance himself. His Lenny deserved a man who was going to come home from work each day and not be covered in blood or be forced to sleep alone whilst wondering if he was coming home at all.
Jax found his attention pulled to his mother climbing up onto the roof with great difficulty before he headed over to help her, "you couldn't mop around on ground level , no?"" Gemma minded moaned as she brushed her jeans off before settling down next to her only son and lighting a cigarette for them both.
"So , just how long are you planning on punishing yourself?" Gemma didn't waste any time in getting to her point, it was no secret that Jax often blamed himself on things beyond his control and this mis-adventure to Arizona was no exception. Gemma knew her son like the back of her hands, he was pushing Lenny away trying to protect her from the life he had chosen much like he had when Abel had been born. For some reason Jax felt his life was a danger to those around him, he never saw the club as the family that he never had in the way Gemma did. The club had saved her back when she was a kid and she knew it had done the same for Lenny when she got carted there as a teen.
"Mom, don't," Jax warned as he heard Lenny's laugh down in the fore court, he went to lean over the edge with the pretence of flicking the butt of his cigarette over but he just wanted to see Lenny smiling . She was joking around with Chibs and Tig whilst they repaired the cars. His mother was right, he had been avoiding her and it was killing him. She was everything to him and he thought knowing she was safe was all that mattered even if it meant he was alone but it was proving difficult. He hadn't even spoke to her about that evening, Jax had just shrugged her off leaving rooms when she entered and missing calls she would ring until she eventually just stopped calling. "She deserves someone better," Jax turned to his Mother who had pursed her lips as she rolled her eyes.
Standing to her feet she kissed her son and hugged him tight, " I think Lenny's old enough to know who she wants," she smiled at Jax before walking back to the roof hatch, " we're having a party tonight at the clubhouse. Bbq, music, the works. It's Clays idea, so you gotta be there for the club,"
Jax nodded as he thought how much he didn't want to be there tonight and groaned as he rubbed his eyes frustrated.
Lenny sat at the bar as the clubhouse filled out it seems like years ago that she was enjoying these parties, like an eternity ago she was desperate for Jax to notice the 17 year old girl she was and even the months previous seemed a distant memory. She found her gaze falling to the hall way where his dorm lay, it had been weeks since she had been in there and honestly she missed it. She missed him. It felt like they were exactly where they were destined to be and then he turned cold and Lenny was pissed. She was pissed he had made a decision that affected them both and was pissed he expected her to just accept it. If there was anything Jax Teller should know it was that Lenny-Ray Sawyer didn't take orders from anyone.
She had taken her time in getting ready for tonight, picked out an outfit that flattered her body with figure hugging jeans paired with her heeled boots and a little black tank top that bared her midriff and showed her breasts off but the red checked unbuttoned flannel shirt kept it modest. Her hair was pulled up off her face with a few stay whisps framing her face, just the way Jax liked it and her blue eyes were rimmed with black kohl. To say she looked hot would be modest, she made an effort to make sure she would be noticed. She had to stop her self from checking the door everyday time it opened but the sinking in her stomach didn't stop each time she realized it wasn't him.
The door swung open one last time before her eyes caught his , for a moment he held her gaze taking in the vision before him. She was sure she caught a grin as she felt his eyes roam over her. Lenny's plan was off to a good start, hopping down from her seat she slammed back the shot of whiskey one of the crow eaters who had replaced Eden had poured her before sauntering off to a group where Tig and Bobby were telling a story. She made sure to be real close to one of the younger Teller-Morrow workers resting her arm in his shoulder and listened to her Uncle, she felt the familiar burn of his stare and smiled.
Jax stood with Opie at the bar as his best friend talked to him about the difficulties he was facing with Donna since his return to the club but Jax was only half listening, his attention was mostly taken up by Lenny. She had worn an outfit that showed off more than Jax was comfortable with, he could see half the males in the clubhouse undressing her with their eyes and it didn't sit well with him. She was his and his alone. He knew she was playing a game but he hadn't counted on her pulling this stunt, she obviously didn't like being ignored.
Lenny found her self at the bar with Clay and Bobby, they were talking about her first visit to Charming .
"You were a little shit , Len. I had no idea how Bobby was gonna try and reign you in! In fact, I don't think he did," Clay slapped his brother on the shoulder as he puffed on his cigar laughing.
" seriously? I wasn't that bad uncle Bobby?! " Bobby shrugged as Lenny slapped at his other shoulder tutting , " whatever," Lenny laughed as Gemma and Gina joined them.
" Looks like someone forgot to wear some clothes," Gina rolled her eyes, as Gemma smiled at Lenny.
"Leave her be Gina, she looks beautiful," Gemma winked, knowing exactly what Lenny was up to and by the looks the steely eyes her son kept throwing their way it was working. " so, we haven't heard you sing for a while sweetheart. You gonna treat us to a show tonight,?"
Lenny and Gemma agreed to sing together but only if Bobby played guitar , Lenny felt the best she had in a long time and only one thing was missing but she figured Jax would come round eventually. She downed another drink before Gemma grabbed her up on the make shift stage.
"Shut up guys! We're gonna put on a little show for all!" Gemma flashed her grin at Lenny before catching Jax turnaround fully in his chair to watch his mother and the girl who had stolen his heart sing 'Son of a Preacher Man'
The whole room applauded when the two women climbed down, Gemma made her way back to the open arms of Clay whilst Lenny pushed past the crowds towards the bar where Tig and Chibs welcomed her with a hug.
"Voice of an Angel, our girl," Chibs raised his beer
"But the mouth of a sailor!" Tig winced as Lenny smacked his shoulder. She couldn't help but look over Tigs shoulder straight into Jax's cold blue eyes, she was choosing to ignore the busty blonde that was sat on his lap as he faked an interest in what ever boring story she was telling him, Lenny smiled at him and his attempts to make her hate him.
Lenny knocked back several of the shots that Tig had lined up at the bar, it seemed he had demanded a re-match from their previous drinking game. Which Tig had lost miserably. Swiping at her mouth Lenny felt the effects of the alcohol drift over her like a mist, suddenly things around her seemed slower and the only scene she could see playing out was the not so private lap dance Jax was enjoying. His interest seemed genuine now which left a knot in Lennys stomach and bile in her throat.
Finding her feet Lenny strode towards the door to get some air, she strode straight for the door she could feel Jax's eyes follow her as she pushed the clubhouse door open and shook her head laughing as he made no effort to stop what happening on top his lap. Had Lenny of stayed a few moments more she would have witnessed Jax settle further into his seat and rest his arms behind his head with an undisputed air or arrogance.
