P.O.V. Of Dean

The next morning Cas came in to wake me up.

"Dean? Dean, we have to go to my vessel's appointment." I heard him saying. I groaned, blinking open my eyes to see him standing over me.

"Dean, come on."

"Relax Cas. I'm... just give me a minute." I threw my covers off and swung my legs over the side of the bed, then rubbed my eyes.

"What time is it?"

"9:13. You said my appointment was at ten." Cas answered. I nodded, slipping on a pair of jeans.

"Yep, let's go. We'll go get you some maternity clothes after."

About a half hour later, Cas and I were at the doctor's office.

"Come on, we have to go tell the woman at the front desk we're here." I motioned for Cas to follow me.

"Hello, how may I help you?" She asked when we approached.

"We're here for our appointment with Dr... uh. Dr. Alena Young." I replied.

"Ah yes. The new patient. I'll need you to take these forms and fill them out before we can have someone take you back." The receptionist said, handing me a clipboard with several different sheets of paper. I sighed as Cas and I walked over to the waiting room.

"We'll have to create an identity for you..." I took a pen and stared at the first sheet. First, middle, and last name...

"Well, I am Castiel."

"No Cas. You're a human female... Cas... Cassie... Cassandra. Sure. Cassandra Mary Winchester."

"How nice." Cas said simply. I nodded and filled out the rest of the forms, then went to give them back to the receptionist.

"Thank you. A nurse will be out for you shortly."

Sure enough, we only waited there for ten more minutes until a woman opened a door.

"Cassandra?"

I tapped Cas's knee and stood up, then we both followed the woman back to a room.

"So, Cassandra."

"Call me Cassie." Cas said.

"Cassie. It's your first time here I see. Is this your first pregnancy?" the nurse asked.

"Yes."

"Okay. Any stomach cramps? Bleeding?"

"No, just vomiting."

"Okay, that's fine. Normal..."

I sat quietly in a chair while she asked Cas more questions, which he rattled off the answers to perfectly. Then she did some normal check up tests like blood pressure and such.

"Alright, that's it for that. Dr. Young will be in with you in several minutes." The nurse gathered her things and left.

"Wow Cas, not bad." I said once we were alone.

"Thank you."

More time passed and then one final woman came in, who I guessed was the doc.

"Hello there, Cassie. And who might you be?" She asked, addressing me.

"Oh, my name is Dean." I told her.

"Nice to meet you two. So if you'll just come with me, I can take you to the ultrasound room and we can get our first look at your baby."

Cas nodded and we followed her to a darker room with a place where Cas had to lay down.

"Alright, now if you could just lift your shirt for me... Thank you." She took some bottle and squeezed a considerable amount of this weird bluish clear gel onto his stomach. Then she turned on the machine nearby, took a wand like thing out began to use it to move the gel around.

"Whoa..." I couldn't help but utter a sound of surprise as I watched this process, then saw the end result. A dark picture appeared on the screen.

"Look at that... cool." I said. Cas looked up at me where I stood and smiled. Man, maybe he wasn't so bad at this human thing as I thought.

"You see that? That's the heartbeat. Very healthy." The doc smiled.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" I found myself asking.

"Oh, it's still way too early to tell. You'll have to wait for... possibly the 20 week ultrasound."

"Mmm..." I stared at the screen, absolutely transfixed. But I felt a hand on mine, that took me back to reality. I looked down to see Cas's hand on mine, his eyes concerned.

"Are you alright, Dean?" he asked. I nodded.

"Yeah... I'm just... really surprised and... happy." I smiled at him.

"Me too."

The doctor smiled as well, then took the wand off Cas's belly. She wiped it off and put it back with the machine.

"Here, you can clean yourself off and then we can go set up the next appointment." She handed Cas a towel and disappeared from the room. I stood there as Cas wiped the gel off his skin.

"What was that about, Cas?" I asked.

"What?"

"Holding my hand?"

"Just making it more believable." Cas replied, then put his shirt back down and stood. We headed back out to the front desk, set up a new time, and left.

"Alright, let's head out to the mall." I said as we walked to the car.

"Okay." Cas responded. I opened the passenger side door for him and he got in, then I closed it behind him.

When we got to the mall we wandered a bit. I don't think Cas had ever seen anything like it.

"Cas, come on." I grumbled, standing in front of the map of the mall. I located the maternity store, then grabbed Cas's hand.

"But Dean, I smell food."

"Yes Cas, there's a food court just that way, but we came here for clothes." I sighed. We got to the maternity store and were greeted by the clerk.

"Hello, first timers?"

"That easy to tell, huh?" I laughed.

"It's okay. There's a first time for everybody. Go ahead and look around. There are pregnancy pads in the fitting rooms to help you see what it will be like for when you start to show. That will make it easier for you to buy clothes. If you need anything, just ask."

"Thanks." I turned to see Cas looking at a white shirt that said: "I'm carrying God's little angel."

"Technically, human's can't carry angels as spawn."

"Cas, shush." I pinched the bridge of my nose, grabbed some shirts, and took him back to the fitting rooms. Cas went in and I stood outside the door to hand him each shirt.

"Dean?" his voice came, sounding flustered.

"What is it Cas?"

"I don't think I did this correctly. Please come help me." I heard the door unlock and I sighed.

"Coming in..." I walked in to see Cas had the pad on backwards.

"Cas..." I locked the door again and helped him put it on the right way. "I may not know much about pregnancy, but I know they don't carry the kid in their backs..."

"Sorry, Dean." When we finally had the pad on right, I handed him a shirt. He slipped it on, then looked in the mirror.

"Well..." he smoothed it out. Again, I was in awe.

"Cool." He really looked pregnant...

"This one will suffice, let me see another."

Several shirts later, Cas was ready to go.

"I need your shirt back now." Cas saw where he had tossed my old shirt to the floor, then tried to move past me to get it. In the small confined space, we got jammed together.

"Oh, sorry." I said.

"My apologies, Dean." He said at the same time.

"Here, I got it." I picked it up and gave it back to him.

"Thank you. Now let's get out of this room..." Cas took the pad off and put my shirt on, then we opened the door, almost falling out. We took the shirts up front and bought them, then headed out of the store.

"How about some of that food now, Cas?" I said, making Cas smile.

"Yes please."
