Hello, lovely readers! I moved back into my dorm on Sunday. I'm setting a goal to update at least every two weeks this semester. My schedule's a little better so hopefully I'll stay on track. Anyway, here's a new chapter!

You guys know I don't own Marvel.

I was on edge from Tuesday afternoon when I got the news until the meeting Thursday morning. It could have been jitters about moving off the helicarrier or freaking out about Loki basically saying he liked having me around. Honestly, it was probably a combination of the two. That whole week had been weird. Well, weirder than usual. All chances of normal disappeared when I joined SHIELD.

On Thursday, I walked the familiar path to Fury's office. Loki followed me, grumbling about how he hated Thursday. My stomach did flips as we neared our destination, each turn bringing us closer to the reality of moving the next day.

I took a deep breath as I knocked on the door. Fury told us to come inside and motioned for us to sit. There were several files of various sizes on his desk.

"Agent Coltey, Loki," he greeted us, his voice taking on a noticeably colder tone as he said the god's name. "As both of you know, we will be moving the two of you off the helicarrier tomorrow. We have already prepared a safe-house for you, including a room with the necessary equipment to establish a permanent connection for communication with Asgard. The house is already furnished and you will find a supply of civilian clothes, as well as SHIELD uniforms for you, Agent Coltey."

Fury handed me a small file labelled "Resources." As I began to look through the papers inside he explained, "This file contains the contact information for both myself and Maria Hill, as well as two retired agents in the area and an emergency contact should you become compromised and need immediate extraction." Fury opened a drawer on the side of his desk and pulled out a smartphone. "The phone numbers and email are already programmed into this. If you hold down any button for more than ten seconds we will dispatch a team to the house immediately." I nodded and took the phone. "You will call weekly on this device in place of our regular meetings."

"These are your cover identities," Fury said, handing Loki and me each a large file. "Should you come into contact with any civilians, you are to use these. Hopefully, you will never have to use them, but we have included IDs, passports, insurance, and credit cards in addition to your personal histories." I looked at the driver's license in my file. Elise Mariskan. Easy enough to remember. "We have arranged for supplies to be dropped off at the house weekly so you should not need to go into town, but in case you do, we wanted you to be prepared."

"Where exactly is the closest town going to be?" I asked, hoping it wasn't too far. I knew there was no chance of living in town or even on the outskirts, but we might be close enough that I could visit occasionally.

"There is a small town about thirty miles from your house. You will have a car with a GPS programmed with directions into town and to a few select locations such as the hospital, again, just in case you need it. Because Loki is still very recognizable, it is imperative that you stay as isolated as possible." Fury picked up the last file and turned to Loki. "These are instructions for using and repairing all of the equipment in the communications center. Most of it is pretty straightforward and similar to, if not the same as, what you've been using on the helicarrier." Loki took the file and flipped through the pages. I could see numerous diagrams and charts as he skimmed the manuals; each one looked at least as high-tech as the computers and holo-projectors I had used. "If something goes seriously wrong, we can send a SHIELD technician to the house to fix it, but we would like to avoid drawing attention to your location."

"Which is...?" Please be somewhere warm. I knew Hawaii was out of the question but a girl could dream, right?

"Unfortunately, I cannot give you the exact location until tomorrow. Once you have arrived at the house you will find another file with your location. I know this all seems over the top, but only a few people know of Loki's presence on Earth, and we would like to keep it that way," Fury explained, "This also means that you cannot tell any of your family or friends where you are."

"I understand sir," I replied. I had assumed that I wouldn't be able to tell anyone. I didn't talk to my family as much as I should, but they knew my job made it hard for me to keep constant contact.

"And last but not least, your transportation. Again, this will seem over the top, but we have to make sure as few people as possible know that Loki is here and where you are." Fury paused and pulled a jump drive out of his desk. "You will take a helicopter from the helicarrier. When you land, you will meet a SHIELD agent who has a rented moving van. You will plug this jump drive," he said, handing me the device, "into the GPS. Once you have arrived at the house, you must clear the history on the vehicle's system. We have arranged for another agent to pick up the van, but he has only been told that the location is a SHIELD safe-house, so Loki must not be seen. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir."

Loki nodded. He hadn't said a word the entire time. Honestly, that was probably a good thing.

"Well, if you have no questions, you are free to go. Agent Coltey, do not hesitate to contact me if you need assistance." We stood up to leave and gathered the files Fury had given us. "And Loki, you've been behaving yourself so far, but don't think I won't throw you into a cell like all the others who've tried to take over the world."

Loki looked up at Fury and nodded slowly. I grabbed the phone and jump drive and followed Loki to the door.

"Agent Coltey."

I turned back to Fury.

"Good luck."

"Thank you, sir."

When we got back to our apartment, I made lunch like I had for the past two months. Loki and I talked a little as we ate, but we were both anxious to pack and get ready for the move the next day.

We both retreated to our bedrooms to pack our belongings, though Loki didn't have much besides the clothes SHIELD had given him and a few books that had appeared over our time there.

I got lost in packing up my knick knacks and photos and singing along to my favorite playlist. I didn't realize how much time had passed until I smelled something delicious outside my room. I removed my headphones and walked into the living room to find Loki stirring a pot of something in the kitchen.

"You can cook?!" I exclaimed. I had never even suspected he knew how.

Loki turned to me. "Yes. Why is this so surprising to you?"

"You never mentioned it before or offered to make anything."

"It never came up." Loki smirked, "Besides, it was more convenient to let you make our meals."

"If that's true, why didn't you get me to cook tonight?" I crossed my arms, slightly frustrated with him for letting me do all the work all this time.

Loki shrugged. "You were busy packaging your belongings. I was bored."

"Well, if this is any good, you can expect to be doing a lot more cooking after this."

Loki smiled and turned back to the pot, stirring whatever was inside. I returned to my bedroom to finish packing until supper was ready. I had just put my last picture frame in a box when Loki called for me. I walked into the kitchen and sat down.

"This is a traditional Asgardian stew," Loki explained as he brought two bowls to the table. "Of course, it's not the same as it would be on Asgard because you don't have the same plants or animals here on Midgard." He placed one of the bowls in front of me and one at his place.

I picked up my spoon and looked at Loki. "Here's the true test of your cooking ability. I might make you cook a lot more often."

Loki watched as I took my first bite.

He would be cooking a lot more often.

Awwww, fluffy(: I hope you liked it!

I have two requests!

1. I am still making my final decision on where to put Megan and Loki. I have a couple ideas (and events that would be specific to those locations), but I want your suggestions!

2. I'm curious about what your headcanon is for Megan! I always imagine how characters would look and act in real life (and am disappointed when movies get it wrong) so I want to know how you imagine her!

Oh, and follow/favorite/review please!
