I AM SO SORRY I AM AN AWFUL PERSON AND AUTHOR IT'S BEEN LIKE A YEAR AND I AM JUST TERRIBLE. I KNOW. I AM SO SO SO SO SORRY.

I don't own Marvel or their characters.

The third day Loki carried me down to the living room I decided enough was enough. It had been about four and a half days since I had gone out after Loki, and I still couldn't walk. I didn't want to believe that I could be permanently injured until I heard it from a doctor.

"Loki, I want to go to the doctor."

He glanced up at me, a little confused. "Why?"

I sighed. "I'm still not getting any better. I can't feel my feet or walk on my own."

"Surely if you give it a few more da-"

"No, Loki. It's been over four days, and nothing has changed. There's a walk-in clinic in the closest town. I want to go."

Loki's face screwed up with a mixture of concern and frustration. "Will you let me try one more thing before we go to your Midgardian healer?"

I sighed. He was so hesitant about this. "How long will it take?"

"I do not know yet. I have to contact someone."

He ran upstairs. I heard the door to his communications room open and slam shut and the sound of a frantic Loki running around and pushing buttons. He started talking to someone. I couldn't make out any of the words but the tone was pleading, almost desperate. It went on for several minutes before the door opened again and I heard Loki's footsteps coming back down the stairs.

"We are going to have a visitor." Loki was solemn. His face was expressionless but his eyes showed the swirl of emotions whatever conversation he had just finished upstairs had caused. They were a strange green mix of hope, worry, anger, and something that said this-better-work-because-it's-too-much-trouble-not-to-work.

"We're what? Who?" They better not be from SHIELD. I hadn't told Fury about the whole frostbite thing, though a part of me was sure he knew regardless. "Loki, who were you talking to?

He glanced at his feet, clearly torn over whatever had happened. "I made a call to Asgard. I need someone's help to help you."

"What do you mean?" He could be so cryptic and I just wasn't in the mood to deal with it.

"Thor. I asked Thor to come here and unbind my magic temporarily so I could heal you."

"Wait. You could've done that days ago! Why didn't you call him earlier?" He had better have a good reason for this.

"It is treason! Odin bound my magic because he believes me to me a hazard to Midgard while I am here. It is forbidden to undo the All-Father's actions. Thor may not even be able to unbind it for long enough, if he can do it at all," Loki looked hurt and more worried than I had seen him. "As long as I thought there was another way for you to be healed I did not want to bring my brother into this. You know we are not exactly on the best of terms."

I smirked. "That's an understatement. But wouldn't Odin release your magic for long enough for you to heal me if you explain-"

"You are a mortal. In Odin's eyes you are worthless and replaceable. Your needing healed would just be a sign that you were meant to die."

I doubted that Odin was as bad as Loki made him out to be, but it did add up with his other actions that I knew of. I took a deep breath. Odin was not the issue here. At least not yet. "When is Thor getting here?"

Loki shook his head. "That I do not know. He said he would come as soon as he could slip away unnoticed and get to Heimdall. Heimdall should be on our side. He has always kept watch over Thor's mortal friend Jane."

That was reassuring. I had met Jane Foster once at an event for the Avengers. She seemed like a good match for Thor.

Suddenly a blinding light filled the living room. I turned to the windows and caught a glimpse of a large figure moving toward the door.

"Loki…"

He got up and walked to the door, visibly exhaling before turning the handle and pulling it open.

"Brother!" The figure grabbed Loki and wrapped him in an embrace.

Loki extricated himself from the enormous arms.

"Thor."
