I do not own The Vampire Diaries

"It's too early for this," Damon muttered.

"What where you doing last night?" Stefan asked.

"Your girlfriend."

Caroline grinned at Damon's replay as she continued to get ready. Good old Damon, he always made her smile. It would be interesting when he met the Mikaelsons. Well, if he met them. She still wasn't sure if they where going to stay or go. She would be lying to herself if she said she didn't care if they stayed or go, because truth of the matter was that she did care. Not only did she want them to stay, she needed them to stay. She needed Klaus to stay. He had managed to get under her skin and if he just left like that, Caroline knew it could potentially ruin her.

"Who the hell are you?" Kol asked.

"I asked you first," Damon said.

"I'm older, respect your elders," Kol said.

"Enough, please," Elijah said.

"My head hurts," Rebekah whined.

"You shouldn't have drank so much little sister," Klaus replied.

Caroline's head snapped up at the sound of his voice and rushed to finish getting ready. They stayed, they actually stayed! She calmed herself down before she walked down the stairs.

She paused in the doorway and examined the scene. Stefan was just sitting on the couch, Damon and Kol where standing in front of each other, looking like they where just about to fight, and Rebekah and Klaus where standing.

"Look you ignorant fool," Kol began.

"Sexy," Damon interrupted.

"What?" Kol frowned.

"Sexy, ignorant fool," Damon said. "If your going to insult me, do it right."

Kol squinted at him and Caroline couldn't conceal the chuckle that escaped her and all heads turned to her.

"Where the hell did you find these people?" Kol scolded.

"I was wondering the same thing," Damon said, glaring at Kol.

"I had a feeling you two would be like this," Caroline said.

"Like what?" Damon and Kol asked simultaneously.

"Like an old married couple," Caroline smirked.

"I resent that," Damon muttered.

"What are we doing here?" Stefan suddenly asked.

"Hello," Caroline said cheerfully. "How is my favorite vegan vampire today?"
"Caroline," Stefan warned.

"Aww, did someone not catch a bunny today?" Caroline asked, pouting. Stefan rolled his eyes and looked away, already realizing that it was a lost cause. "We're waiting for Bonnie."

"The witch?" Kol asked.

"Yes, the witch," Caroline said.

"I'm going to go wake her up," Kol decided heading for the stairs.

"Your funeral," Caroline said, sitting across from Stefan on the couch, flashing him a smile. "And how is Elena today?"
"Stay away from her," Stefan warned.

And so started a long conversation focused on the how Caroline did not want to be bothered by the idiot doppelganger.

Kol headed up the stairs and stopped outside the witches room, trying to listen. He shouldn't be so surprise that is was sound proof, after all, she was a witch. Instead of having manners, he never did anyway, he threw open her door and strolled in, freezing in the doorway at the sight before him.

She stood just in her bra and underwear, looking incredible beautiful and pissed. She yelped in surprise and grabbed the sheet from her bed and quickly wrapped it around herself.

"Hello Bonnie," Kol purred, looking her up and down. "You don't have to cover up, I don't mind."

"Get out!" She exclaimed.

"Now now, let's not make any hasty decision," He tried, but she was having none of it. She threw her hand up and a gust of wind sent him flying back into the wall. He sat up and gripped the back of his head, his hand getting coated in blood. He looked up at her and smirked. A feisty one. This was going to be fun.

"What the hell was that?" Damon asked, glancing up at the ceiling.

"Bonnie's awake," Caroline shrugged, and sure enough, Bonnie come downstairs.

"Why did you let him wake me up?" She asked, glaring at Caroline.

"Because I thought it would irritate you, did it?" Caroline asked, standing up.

"Yes!" She exclaimed.

"Then is worked," Caroline said. "I needed to get you ready for what's going to happen next."

"What's going to happen next?" Bonnie asked.

"Well first, I'm going to answer some of the questions I'm sure everyone has. Then we're going to the witches place so you can get use to using there power, because your going to have to be prepared on how to handle it. After that, I suppose find Alex and make sure he hasn't killed himself, and eventually, once we make sure our plan is fail proof, we lure Mikael into town and kill him," Caroline said, then glanced at the Mikaelson's who all stood together. "That is if you are still with me."

"How do we know we can trust you?" Elijah asked.

"Because I had every opportunity to hand you other to Mikael, and I didn't. I could have killed you at any time, but I didn't. I put myself, and my friends lives on the line just for you, so if you still don't trust me after all that, then I'm sorry, but I don't need it that bad," Caroline said.

None of them said a word, but their silence spoke volumes, as well as their looks. Elijah met her eyes and held her gaze, as well as Rebekah, but Klaus wouldn't look at her. Caroline wasn't sure she would be able to handle it if he looked at her anyway, so maybe it was for the best.

"Who is Mikael?" Damon finally asked.

Mikael threw his phone in frustration. He was surrounded by idiots, stupid, stupid idiots. None of them knew how to do anything worth a damn, and the person he usually turned to in this type of situation was probably sleeping with his bastard son.

How could Caroline do this type of thing? He thought he knew he better then this, he thought he taught her better then this. It was his son to blame, that Mikael was sure of. He found a way to get under Caroline's skin, get into Caroline's head. Maybe he someone managed to compel her. Mikael didn't check on her everyday, maybe one day Klaus got a hold of her and compelled her. That must be it, Klaus compelled her. That had to be it.

Once he found them, he would find out for sure. That was his next step, actually finding them. None of his witches could find them, and certainly none of his vampires where old enough or had enough experience, they didn't even know where to look! So it was now up to Mikael. He was the only one who knew all his children and Caroline enough to even come close to finding them. It would be a long, and hard search, and he had no time to waste, especially since it was apparent that he did not have the white oak stakes in his possession. Caroline did.

Over the years he had built trust in her, and that was a mistake. He shouldn't have kept the white oak stakes in a place she would even know to look for, but she was on his side at one point in time, or so he thought. He would know more about this when he found her, but all he could now was remain calm and keep looking.

"So you want us to kill a crazy vampire, who can't be killed, who makes Klaus the almighty hybrid, and who feeds on his own kind, a.k.a us?" Damon asked, looing at us all like we were crazy.

"He can be killed," Caroline said.

"I just thought you said he couldn't," He frowned.

"With any old stake he can't, but with a white oak stake, he can," Caroline said.

"Okay, so all we have to do is find whatever a white oak stake is and kill him with it?" He asked.
"How do we find one?" Stefan asked.

"Caroline here has one," Rebekah said, looking at her. "Don't you dear?"

"Oh, so you're done ignoring me now?" Caroline asked, sitting up straighter.

"I was never ignoring you," Rebekah said.

"Then what do you call it when you ignore someone, refuse to even meet them in the eye? Well, except for when you're giving them dirty looks?" Caroline asked.

"You betrayed me, Kol, Elijah ,and Klaus! How else did you expect me act towards you?" Rebekah asked.

"Now's not the time," Elijah tried.

"No Elijah, now is exactly the time," Caroline said, standing up. "Tell me Rebekah, how did I betray you?"
"You lied to us about everything about you!" Rebekah exclaimed.

"But not who I was. I answered everything you asked, and whether it was truthful or not, that's besides the point. I never did, or tell you anything that would consider me betraying you," Caroline said.

"You where going to hand us over to our father!" Rebekah yelled.

"No, I wasn't," Caroline said quietly.

"Oh please, if you expect us to believe that," Rebekah laughed.

"I'm not expecting anything from any of you, I dug my own grave, and I'm going to lay in it, but before I go down, you need to realize that, you need to hear it. Whether you believe it or not, that's your call, but I never had any intention of handing you over to your father. Maybe I was at first, but after awhile, I couldn't bring myself to," Caroline said.

"Why, because you grew close to us all?" Kol snorted.

"Believe it or not Kol, I'm not all into that sappy bullshit. I don't know why I didn't turn you all in the first few days, but I knew once Mikael gave me my death sentence I couldn't do it," Caroline said.

"Death sentence?" Bonnie frowned.

"He doesn't like it when people stick around to long, and I had been around too long. I was given my notice and decided then and there that I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of taking out more people with me. So whether you want to believe me or not Rebekah, that's your call," Caroline shrugged.

"Notice? Is that what you're calling it?" Bonnie asked, standing up.

"Bonnie," Caroline began.

"Where you even going to tell me?" Bonnie asked. "Or where you just going to have me find out when you never called or never showed up?"

"It's not like that" Caroline said.

"Then tell me what it's like," Bonnie said. "What about your promise?"

"I would have made sure you where taken care of," Caroline tried.

"Let me guess, but Alex, or Stefan, or Damon. They aren't suppose to be the ones taking care of me Caroline, you are!" Bonnie yelled, stepping back.

"Calm down," Caroline said calmly.

"Calm down?" Bonnie said, laughing. "How can I calm down?"

The lights suddenly went on and the shutters against the house started to flutter and slam against the house. All vampires where on there feet, looking at Bonnie warily.

"You want me to remain calm? How the hell do you expect me to do that when there are vampires in my home and I have no idea who they are. I'm doing spells for you and I have no idea why, or what's going on, and then you tell me you where given a death threat, and you weren't even going to tell me about it!" Bonnie yelled.

The air in the room picked up and started blowing things around. Books flew off the shelves, papers filled with spells flew around the room, in people faces, even furniture was starting to move.

Caroline shoved her hair out of her face and knew the look on Bonnie's face meant that she was too far gone to stop on her own, and she knew she had to do it.

She flashed forward and grabbed Bonnie and slammed her against the wall. That was enough of a shock to make Bonnie stop, and everything that was in the air dropped and the wind ceased.

Bonnie blinked and looked up at Caroline. She never got physical with her, so it was just enough to make her stop. Her breathing slowed down and she slumped against the wall and slowly slid down while Caroline stepped away. Caroline turned away from her and ran a hand over her face before turning to face everyone else.

"Why did he want you gone?" Kol asked.

"Because she's about to turn 950 years old," Alex said from the doorway, hands in his pocket. He walked in and looked around, raising an eyebrow at all the crap scattered around. His questioned was answered when he noticed Bonnie on the floor. He looked away from her when he felt a hand touch his arm. He looked into Rebekah's baby blues and smiled at her, opening his arms to allow her closer to him. He looked over Rebekah's shoulder and smiled at Caroline.

"Glad you could join us lover boy," Damon said.
"Shut up Damon," Caroline ordered. "Now that we're all here, it's time to actually plan. Right now Bonnie has cloaking spell on all of us, so we have some time to spare."

"Not necessarily, he could have followed you," Elijah said.

"Mikael can't work during the daylight," Caroline said. "A while back a witch out a spell on him that desiccates him during the daytime."

"What!" Kol screeched, jumping up. "And how come we haven't heard of this?"
"Because he killed the witch that did it, and the only other people that know besides himself are standing in this living room," Caroline shrugged.

"If he killed the witch, shouldn't the spell have been broken?" Stefan asked.

"It should have," Caroline agreed, "but the spell was formed through a blood line of witches, and as long as this bloodline lives, the spell lives. Anyone care to guess what bloodline?"
"Bennett," Rebekah sighed.

"Why Bennett?" Kol asked.

"Because we despise vampires," Bonnie answered.

"Come now darling, we all know you broke that mold," Kol purred.

"No, I didn't," Bonnie said, glaring at him.

"Bennett's did it because they are trying to make up for the mistake they made when they helped create our kind," Caroline said, interrupting the two of them. "Also because at the time, the person who did the spell knew that the Bennett bloodline would live on."

"How did we not know about this?" Kol said, asking no one in particular, just staring off into space.

"it doesn't matter whether you knew then, you know now, and now, we're going to use it to our advantage," Caroline said.

"How so?" Klaus asked, suddenly seeming interested.

Caroline debated whether to tell any of them. After all, it may not even work, she couldn't guarantee anything, and she didn't want to disappoint anyone.

"Well?" Rebekah asked impatiently.

"We need to go to the old witches place," Caroline decided.

"What?" Bonnie frowned, standing up.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Alex asked.

"What's the witch place?" Kol asked.

"You'll love it, it's fun," Caroline said.

"I thought you said this would be fun," Kol hissed, clenching his head.

"This isn't fun to you?" Caroline panted, dropping to her knees.

"Anytime Bonnie" Alex yelled.

"I can't exactly control them," Bonnie said.

"Try," He hissed.

"Is now really the time?" Caroline asked. Whispers echoed throughout the house and it started to shake and it almost seemed that their headaches worsened. "It's about Mikael," Caroline said loudly, crying out in pain. The headaches stopped, but the whispers continued. "I'm here to keep my promise Alice," Caroline panted. Everything finally decreased and the house was still.

"Who is Alice?" Damon asked.

"Yet another Bennett witch that I made a promise too," Caroline sighed, moving further into the house and down to the basement. Alex, Stefan, Damon, and Bonnie followed, but the Mikaelson's stayed upstairs, something that didn't go unnoticed by Caroline.

"This is insane Nik," Rebekah muttered. "How are we suppose to even trust her?"

"I have no problem trusting her," Kol said.

"Of course you don't," Rebekah snorted.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Kol frowned.

"It means that you are foolish. You can only see what is in front of you, not the big picture. Caroline lied to us. Not just about one or two things, but about everything! How can you trust her?" Rebekah asked.

"She could have handed us over to Mikael at any time, but she didn't. She stayed behind and fought him for us, and she got away alive! Obviously she knows more about Mikael then we do. We need her on our side, and I for one am on her side," Kol said.

"Not only do we need her, but she needs us as well," Elijah said quietly.

"What?" Rebekah hissed. "You agree with him Elijah?"

"Yes. while I may not trust her like our brother does, but he has a point. Not only did she manage to escape him alive and seemingly uninjured, she also has the white oak stakes, I;m afraid we don't have a choice in the matter," Elijah said.

"Then it's settled," Klaus said.

"You're giving up that easily?" Rebekah asked.

"Not at all little sister, on the contrary," He said.

"She lied to all of us!" Rebekah exclaimed.

"I'm aware of what she did Rebekah, but it seems that siding with her is the best option, and if that keeps us alive, then we're going to do it," He said.

"Well I won't sit around and watch you all put your lives in the hands of our fathers whore!" Rebekah growled, flashing out of the house.

The exchange upstairs did not go unnoticed by Caroline, especially the part about being Mikael's whore.

"The only one that trust you is Kol." Alex said quietly.

"I'm not surprised," Caroline said, going through the stacks of books that where scattered everywhere. "I'm more surprised that you returned."

"I'm leaving once Mikael's dead," He said.

Caroline looked at him and smiled softly. "Don't say goodbye just yet my brother."

They where interrupted by the Originals coming down the stairs to join them.

"So what are we doing here Blondie?" Damon asked.

"Looking for a spell," She replied. "Grab a grimoir and start looking."

"what spell?" Stefan asked.

"I don't know," Caroline said,

"What?" Kol frowned.

Caroline looked at Bonnie for help, but Bonnie was still upset and didn't even look at her. "I don't know what the is exactly because I have never seen it."

"How do you know it's here?" Elijah asked.

"All these grimoirs belong to the Bennett bloodline. The spell I'm looking for is only a spell that the Bennett's know because they created it. It was created a long, long time ago by a friend of your mothers."

"Anna," Kol muttered.

"Yes. She didn't tell anyone about the spell knowing that if anyone outside of her bloodline got a hold of it, then our entire vampire race would be in danger. She kept it hidden throughout the years by transferring it through grimoirs, so I know it's in one of these books, we just need to find it," Caroline said, handing out books.

"How will we know when we find it?" Stefan asked.

"You'll know," Caroline promised.

"And you think it will help us against Mikael?" Kol asked.

"It will help us destroy Mikael," Caroline said.

"Then we better start looking," Klaus said, meeting Caroline's eyes.

Rebekah hadn't wasted anytime getting out of that god for saken town. It was full of idiots who thought they were indestructible just as long as they stuck together, as long as they stood behind that pathetic blonde. Everyone was too caught up in her looks and the fact that she defeated Mikael that they couldn't see the bigger picture. If she wasn't worried that her siblings would punish her Rebekah would end that blonde twit herself. God, what a bunch of idiots, she thought as she drove past a sign that said thanks for visiting Mystic Falls, come back soon!

"Not likely," She muttered, and instead picked up the speed.

The only sound in the basements was the sound of pages being turned and everyone's breather. They where down one person because Stefan had to go hunt, and they where about to be down another. So far no one had come across anything and it was starting to irritate Damon.

"Look here blondie," He began ," we've been at this for hours and haven't found it. It's not here."

"It's here," Caroline muttered.

"What if it's not?" He challenged.

Caroline sighed and looked up at him. "You're free to leave whenever you want Damon," She said.

"Thank God," He muttered, standing up to leave.

"Say hello to Elena for me," Caroline said just before he let. He turned and looked at her and she shot him a knowing smile. He quickly left after that and Caroline returned to examining her book.

"What was that about?" Alex asked.

"That my dear, was history repeating itself," Caroline said. Damon always wanted what he didn't have.

He did have a point though. They had been through over 1sixteen books combined, but Caroline was sure it was here, it had to be.

"Why are you so cozy with the Bennett witches?" Kol asked, interrupting her thoughts.

"I made a promise to one when I was first turned that I would protect their bloodline," Caroline said without looking up.

"Was that Alec?" He asked.

"No. I promised Anna's daughter Emily I would protect the bloodline. I promised Alice I would embrace my full potential or something like that," She muttered.

"What's that suppose to mean?"

"It means I would stop being Mikael's bitch and be my own person."

"I suppose you heard what Rebekah said."

"Yes. but I've heard worse."

Like?"

"Being called his wife.'

Elijah chuckled at that one and Caroline smiled softly.

"Is our father not good enough for you Caroline?" Kol teased.

"I will hurt you," Caroline warned.

"Oh come on," Kol began, but got interrupted by Bonnie.

She cried out in pain and clutched at her chest. Caroline was kneeling in front of her in seconds. "Bonnie?"

She gasped in pain and rested her head against the wall behind her.

"Sweetie, tell me what's wrong," Caroline said, forcing her to look at her.

"The spell," Bonnie gasped.

Caroline's eyes narrowed and her body went tense. "Where's Rebekah?" She asked, looking over at the Mikaelson brothers.

"She left," Kol said.

"Why?" Caroline asked.

"She was upset," Elijah began.

"No, why did she leave Mystic Falls?" Caroline asked. She growled in frustration when no one answered her. She bent over and scooped Bonnie up and carried her ip the stairs and through the house, Alex closely following. "I suggest someone calls her and makes her get back before it's too late."

"Too late for what?" Klaus asked while Caroline put Bonnie in the back seat and Alex got in the drivers seat.

"The cloaking spell only works as long as you still in Mystic Falls, and since the energy it would take to cloak everyone would tell Mikael's witches where we are, Bonnie linked everyone together. So one breaks the spell, then we are all visible again, meaning Mikael can come and kill us at any time," Caroline said.

"I'll call her," Elijah said.

"Tell her to hurry." Caroline said, opening her car door. "As you can see, it affects Bonnie, and if my witch gets to weakened and can't do a simple locator spell, I'll make sure Rebekah isn't even strong enough to kiss my ass."

Caroline slammed her car door and they drove away quickly, leaving the brothers to exchange looks.

"Well this is going to be interesting," Kol muttered.

Is this better then being centered? If not I'll go back, but this seems easier to me, sorry I didn't catch it sooner! Once again I mention the possibility of a Kennett story because I'm going to start working on it if enough people are interested. Also, I would like to apologize for the delay, but I won't update until I get a good amount of reviews, and something's wrong with the system because they don't show up on here like they do in my email, so blame it on Fanfiction! Review please :)
