I do not own The Vampire Diaries

"Faster Alex," Caroline ordered, turning around in her seat to check on Bonnie. Her screams were getting louder, and that told Caroline that Rebekah was getting further and further away. "Bonnie calm down," She said, reaching for Bonnie's hand.

"It's hurts," Bonnie groaned.

"I know honey, hold on, okay?" Caroline said, holding on to her tighter.

"Make it stop!" She screamed.

Caroline climbed in the back seat with her to further help her. She bit her wrist and held it close to Bonnie. "You need to drink," Caroline said.

"No," Bonnie gasped, her body twisting every other way.

"It'll help Bonnie, please," She said, pressing her free forearm against Bonnie's chest to keep her still.

"No!" Bonnie groaned. "What if I die?"

"I won't let you, please Bonnie, let me help you," Caroline begged.

Bonnie gave in and drank Caroline's blood. It helped enough to calm her down and she was no longer screaming at the top of her lungs, but it still hurt.

Caroline carried Bonnie upstairs and Alex let her, knowing Caroline was going to be extra protective of her right now. In fact, he wouldn't be surprised if she sat there until she was better, but Alex hoped that wasn't the case. They still needed to talk about what happened in France.

He had thought long and hard about what happened, and he had a lot of questions. Like why Mikael was punishing her in the first place. That's what he needed to focus on. He couldn't think about what actually happened, not yet, anyways. He would once this was all over with, he would just disappear and deal with this by himself. First he had to talk to Caroline, she was the key to all of this.

Caroline stroked Bonnie's hair to the side and lovingly touched her cheek. Bonnie was already sleeping because of how exhausted she was and Caroline knew she would wake up screaming once the blood left her system.

Her focus should have been getting that spell, she shouldn't be wasting time, but Bonnie was her baby. She couldn't leave her behind knowing she was in pain, and especially since she now had vampire blood in her system. Caroline had to keep her promise, but she also made a promise to Alex that she would tell him the full story, and she knew he was waiting. She watched Bonnie for a few more minutes before she headed downstairs to Alex.

She sat next to him on the couch and accepted the drink he offered her.

"What do you want to know?"" She asked.

"Why was Mikael after you?"

"He thought I was the one that got the witch to put the desiccating spell on him."

"Did you?"

"No, and that greatly upsets me."

"You stayed. Even after he hurt you."

"For you," She replied.

***Flashback***

"Alex," Caroline whispered, trying to touch him.

"No," He screamed, throwing himself back. "Stay away!"

"You have to eat," She said softly.

"I can't," He whispered.

"Yes you can, please."

"I don't deserve too.'

"Alex."

"I don't deserve to," He repeated, sliding down the wall with tears running down his face.

***FLASHBACK ENDED***

"You refused to eat, you were killing yourself," Caroline said, starring off into space. "I knew Mikael had accomplished his goal."

"What was that?"

"To break you."

"What happened next Caroline?" He asked, setting his hand on her knew.

She looked at her and gave him a small smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.

***FLASHBACK***

It was the 3rd week he refused to eat, and he could barely talk because of it. She tried everything, talking to him, bribing him, screaming. None of it worked. She refused to force him that would only make the situation worse. She was out of options.

It was all Mikael's fault, dammit! Why did he have to bring Alex in this? He should have to pay for what he did to Alex. She didn't care about herself, just Alex. Even Mikael knew he crossed the line. She could see it in his eyes when she grabbed Alex and left. He allowed her to leave, that was saying something. He was the cause to all these problems, but maybe he was the solution.

Caroline stood up slowly, calculating what to do next. It would be stupid, and if it was anyone else, she wouldn't bother, but it was Alex. She had to try. She opened the door to Alex's room to find him curled in a ball in the corner. She had to try.

**FLASHBACK ENDED***

"I sound pathetic," Alex muttered.

Caroline chuckled and spread her legs out. "You were the most pathetic vampire I've ever seen, but you were mine and I had to help you anyway I could."

They were both quite, thinking about what was going to happen next. Alex stood up and grabbed Caroline and pulled her into his arms. She was surprised, but relaxed in his arms and returned the hug.

"Thank you," He muttered against her head.

"For whatever it's worth I'm glad you remember," Caroline said pulling away.

"So am I," He smiled. "So how good of a kisser was I?"

"Alex!" Caroline scolded, teasingly shoving him away.

"Seriously though, how good was I?" He asked.

"I've had better since then," Caroline smiled.

"What?" Alex screeched. "I demand to know who!"

"Wouldn't everyone," Caroline winked.

"I'm hurt now," Alex said, falling back on the couch.

"You'll live," Caroline said.

The front door opened and Kol entered. Immediately Caroline and Alex sobered and straightened up. "You better be here to tell me your sister is on her way back," Caroline said.

"She didn't answer, so Elijah is chasing after her as we speak," Kol said. Caroline growled and kicked the table in frustration. "Hey, don't blame me. I'm on your side during all of this."

"Alex, I need you to get ahold of Lucy and see that she comes by and helps Bonnie," Caroline ordered.

"On it," Alex said, walking out of the room.

"Kol, I need you too," Caroline began.

"Nope," He said, plopping down on the couch.

"What?" Caroline frowned.

"Look sweetie, I realize your use to taking charge, but that's not going to work around this family, and certainly not around me," Kol said.

"Is that so?"
"Yupp, so why don't you," Kol found himself pressed against the wall, Caroline small body pressing into his, her knew pressed against the worst place imaginable, and she wore the most sinister smile he had ever seen.

"Why don't I what Kol?" Caroline asked sweetly. He swallowed and didn't dare to speak. "Now Kol, what I was trying to say before you rudely interrupted me, was that I need you stay here and watch over Bonne."

Kol let out a sigh and glared at Caroline when she finally stepped back. He immediately straightened up. "So you want me to babysit the witch?"

"No, I want you to protect Bonnie," Caroline corrected.

"What's the difference?" Kol grumbled.

"A witch can be replaced, Bonnie can't. Take care of her," Caroline said, heading towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Kol asked.

"To the witch's place," Caroline said, shutting the door on him.

Kol grumbled to himself and sat on the couch. Maybe he should have told her Nik was still there. Nah, she threatened to hurt his family jewels, let them suffer. Maybe they would get rid of some of that sexual tension.

It was official, Caroling was going to kill Kol. That little shit didn't tell her Klaus stayed at the witches place. She was outside and could already sense him near, and she was positive he could sense her as well. No point in leaving, she was here, may as well get moving.

She made her way through the house slowly, and even slower down the steps to the basement. She paused at the bottom and just watch him. He sat on the floor with his back against the wall, legs stretched out in from of him, crossed at the ankle with a book in his laps. He was breath taking, especially surrounded by dirty, ugly things.

Caroline knew that in that moment, she fell in love with him. She took a steady breath and cleared her throat, at least letting him know she was present, even though he probably already knew.

He didn't even bother to look up, so she grabbed a book and was just starting to open it when he spoke. "How is your witch?" He asked.

"Uh, she's fine."

"I assume Kol informed you about our dear sister?"

"You mean that Elijah has to waste even more time fine her? Yes."

"Don't judge Rebekah too much, seeing as you kept us spellbound in a room for hours." Caroline didn't answer and sighed. She was upset that not only that he did, but he had a point. "You're witch will be fine, she comes from a powerful bloodline

"Yes she does."

"Do you make it a habit to make promises to people?"

Caroline met his gaze and knew he was talking about the promise she made to him. "Only promises I can keep."

He was in front of her in seconds, and she blinked in surprise, struggling not to take a step back. "Can you? Can you keep all your promises?"

"Yes, or I'll die trying."

He kept his intense stare on her for several more seconds before his lips twisted into a smirk and he turned away from her. She took a deep breath and stepped back. He knew what he was doing and he was doing it on purpose.

"That's wasn't necessary," She said, glaring at him.

"What wasn't necessary?" He asked smirking.

"You know exactly what," Caroline said.

He walked towards her and kept walking, forcing her to walk backward trying to get away. Her back ended up hitting the wall and he caged her in, leaving no room for escape.

"What do you want me to stop doing Caroline?" He drawled.

"This," Caroline said shakily.

"You're enjoying this darling,"" He said, brushing his body against hers.

She inhales and stood up straighter, trying to create space, and instead created even more friction. "Stop," She muttered.

He chuckled and leaned down and brushed his lips against her throat. She closed her eyes and mentally cursed herself. He was doing this to punish her for all she put him though. He was doing this to show her he could, and there wasn't a damn thing she could do to stop him. Sure, she was able to pull away, but she wouldn't. She actually wasn't sure she could. He knew how she felt, it had shown in her eyes, and because she hurt him, he was going to hurt her.

He kissed his way across her jaw just below her ear, softly whispering in it. "Be careful what you say love," He purred, before completely pulling away and leaving her pressed against the wall.

Dick, she thought.

Bonnie was burning up. Caroline's blood made the pain diminish to the point where it was a dull ache, but it was still there and she felt like she had been microwaved. From the inside out, and she had the shakes. They were bad, enough to make her teeth shatter, even when she was fighting them. And her throat hurt. She needed water.

She made her way out of bed and nearly collapsed on the floor. She knew Caroline wasn't here, and whoever was left to watch over her was not about to see her weak. She gritted her teeth and bared on.

Kol heard the witch moving around. "Fuck," He heard her curse. He thought about helping her, but he wasn't that type of person, also he was curious on how far she would be before asking. Her door opened and he laid back on the couch, listening to her struggle, the quick intake of her breath, the short gasps. It was kind of a turn on. He got turn on by a lot of things, but he has never been turned on by a women's breathing. He stood up and headed to the bottom of the stairs to watch her walk down.

She didn't hear him and was too focused on the next step to look up. It wasn't until there were three steps left until she noticed him. She looked up and tried to take a step back but hissed in pain and stopped, staring at him. "What?" She asked.

"I could have helped. If you asked," He said.

"I don't need help," She frowned.

"Sure you don't," He smirked.

"What does that mean?" She asked, glaring at him.

"Nothing darling," He said, his smirk growing.

She fought the pain and finished the three steps, standing dangerously close to him. "Well?" She questioned.

Kol frowned down at her before bending down and picking her up, despite her protest. "Stop struggling," He ordered.

She stopped and glared at him. "What are you doing?" Bonnie snapped.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Kol said, snapping right back.

"I can walk," She muttered while he sat her on the couch.

"Maybe, but I'm not risking Caroline's witch. I would like to keep my body in one piece," Kol said, and headed towards the kitchen.

She assumed it was to get her water, but Bonnie was going to get her own water, dammit. She forced herself up and made her way to the kitchen.

"What are you doing?" He frowned.

"Grabbing water," Bonnie said. She moved towards the sink, but he blocked her.

"Go sit down," He ordered.

"But-"

"Go."

He left no room for arguing, his voice was so demanding but that didn't make Bonnie any less surprised that she listened to him. She settled herself in her seat and watched as he moved around her kitchen. She was upset that she listened so easily, but she couldn't help it. He had a dominating side to him, Bonnie could tell, and it pissed her off that she was so attracted to it.

He sat the glass of water in front of her and settled in the other chair, just watching her. "Drink," He ordered when she didn't make a move for the glass.

Damn him, she thought as she took a sip of water.

She was tempted to through the damn thing out the window. Why Elijah kept calling, she didn't know nor did she care. It never once occurred to her that something may be wrong. They were all together with that blonde bimbo, what could go wrong?

She had settled herself in the most expensive hotel and was not sitting at the bar enjoying a drink while keeping her eyes out for cute men. She was slightly thirsty and didn't want just some random stranger. She didn't look for long as someone came and sat next to her. He wasted no time chatting her up.

"What's a pretty thing like you doing alone?" He asked, shooting her toothy smile.

"Waiting for a pretty thing like you to come join me," She shot back, matching his smile.

"Well here I am. Now what?" He smirked.

"You tell me."

"Why don't we move this upstairs?"

"As appealing as that sounds, she has other plans."

Rebekah's blood ran cold while the guy next to her laughed. "Oh yeah? With you? Take a walk old man."

Rebekah closed her eyes at the snap, followed by the scream. She stopped breathing completely when the smell of blood filled the air.

"Now, let's chat, shall we?"

Rebekah finally opened her eyes and looked over at the man sitting next to her. "Father," She whispered.

"Hello Rebekah," Mikael smiled.

Hello all my patient followers! As you can tell, I'm not getting them out as fast as I use to, and as I'm sure all of you assumed, I actually do have a life, which gets in the way of updating. Maybe with some extra motivation, all update a little faster. I want to beat my record of 13 reviews for one chapter. I will update on the day I beat that record, and if I don't beat it by this Sunday, well then I'll just post the next chapter on Monday. Please and thank you!

Answer to a review. I believe your name was Bailey? If I spelled that right... If you can, Pm me through fanfiction, that would be a lot easier, just because they blank out your email address so I can't answer you that way. And if you can't Pm, then just re-ask your questions and I'll answer then for the next chapter. Thank!

Remember people. 13 reviews!
