I do not own The Vampire Diaries

"Well this is a fucking mess," Kol snapped, throwing his hands up.

"When did he take her?" Alex asked.

"Sometime today or last night, Elijah wasn't exactly sure," Caroline said.

"Where is Elijah?" Kol asked, looking at Klaus.

"Caroline ordered him home. It seems she has more faith in our father then she does in Elijah," Klaus coldly.

"We aren't doing this right now," Caroline said, glaring at Klaus.

"Then what are we doing?" Alex interrupted.

"Let the bitch die," Bonnie muttered, earning looks from everyone in the kitchen. "Do you have any idea how much pain I am in?"

"What we should be doing- "Alex began.

The front door was thrown open and Stefan came flying in the kitchen, eyes red, breathing heavy. "Did you know about them?" He hissed, stepping close to Bonnie.

"About who?" Bonnie frowned.

"Damon and Elena!" Stefan yelled, shaking with rage.

"What about them?" Bonnie frowned, growing even more confused.

"They're sleeping together," Stefan snapped, while Caroline sighed, rubbing her forehead.

"I told him this would lead to no good," She muttered.

Stefan turned on her hissing. "You knew, and you didn't tell me?"

Caroline looked at him with raised eyebrows. "First off, I have no time to deal with relationship drama Stefan, and second, I honestly didn't care, and I still don't care."

"I didn't know," Bonnie said, drawing Stefan's attention to her.

"Liar," Stefan growled.

"Why don't you back off Salvatore?" Kol suggested.

"Why don't you get the hell out of my town," Stefan said. "Ever since you've all arrived everything has messed up and got destroyed."

"This was my town long before it was yours Salvatore, don't forget that," Kol said.

"Enough!" Caroline yelled. "You're sister is in danger, is now really the time to argue over this?"

"What?" Stefan frowned.

"Rebekah was captured by Mikael," Bonnie said quietly.

"So why the hell are you all standing around?"

"We were just about to make a plan before you decided to storm in here and let us know about your relationship problems," Klaus said.

"So what's the plan?" Stefan asked.

"Why are you so concerned about her?" Alex asked.

"Yeah, why are you?" Kol questioned.

"I'm going," Caroline interrupted.

"No need to get dramatic, we'll stop arguing," Kol muttered.

"I'm going to get Rebekah back," Caroline said.

Kol laughed while Alex frowned at her. "Tell me you're joking."

"Of course she is, she can't take on Mikael," Bonnie said, while Kol tried to stop laughing.

Alex and Caroline shared a long look, long enough to make Kol stop laughing and straighten up.

"You're serious, aren't you?" Kol asked.

"You have the disadvantage," Alex muttered.

"It was always like that," Caroline said.

"More so now. Now you have a lot more to lose," He said.

"Which is why I don't plan on losing," Caroline said.

"You can't face Mikael," Klaus said.

"I did it once before while you and your sibling got away, or have you forgotten that?" Caroline said, turning around to face him. "Did you conveniently forget that too Kol?"

"Mikael wasn't expecting a fight from you then Caroline, he is now," Kol said gently.

"Mikael's always expecting a fight from me. I never was keen to say yes to him," Caroline said. She walked to the living room and grabbed a poker. She swung as hard as she could, connecting with the wall, sending plaster everywhere.

Bonnie moaned at the sight of her living room and pressed a hand to her temple as Caroline kept swinging, breaking down the wall until there was nothing but a giant whole next to the fireplace.

"Now's not really the time for re-decorating, now is it?" Kol asked.

"I got bored," Caroline muttered, reaching her arm up inside the wall and pulling down the wooden case that was hidden inside. She walked over to Klaus and handed it to him, not quite letting it go. "In this box are the white oak stakes, please, do not make me regret this."

Klaus took the box and tried to open it, only to find it firmly shut. "What is this?"

"The box is spelled," Bonnie said. "Only I can open it."

"Open it," Klaus ordered.

"She can't," Caroline said. "She doesn't remember the spell."

"So we're basically screwed?" Alex asked.

"No," Caroline smiled. "I'm not completely dumb, despite the stereotype that follows my hair color. I compelled Bonnie to forget the spell to open it until I either tell her to remember, or I die. Whichever came first."

"Clever," Klaus said, eyes narrowed.

"I thought so too," Caroline said, meeting his gaze before heading up stairs to get what she needed to face Mikael.

She zoomed around her room, putting things in their place just in case she wouldn't be coming back tonight. Everything anyone would need would be out for them to find. She hid a few things that only bonnie or Alex cold find.

"Seems like the wrong time to housekeep love," Klaus said from behind her.

"It would kill me to know my room was a mess before I died," Caroline said, stripping out of her cloths to put something else on.

"So you've already assumed you won't be making it back?" Klaus questioned, watching her change into a delicious black outfit.

"I don't assume anything Klaus. I'm not going to assume I'm going to die, and I'm most defiantly going to assumed I'm going to live," She said, pulling on a coat, about to walk past him. He grabbed her and spun her around, so her back was pressed against his chest. He slid his hands up her top, resting them against her ribs. He inhaled her scent while one of his hands rubbed up and down her side, in an almost soothing way.

This couldn't happen, Caroline couldn't let it. She couldn't let him distract her when she had more important things to do. She tried to move away, but the hand that was on her ribs tightened painfully, forcing her to stop. "What are you doing?" She hissed.

"While my father is digging his hand through your chest, just about to end you, know this sweet little Caroline, you were the first one to get under my skin, and you shall me the last."

She wrenched herself away from him and hurried to the door, glancing back behind her only once before rushing down the stairs. Everyone was waiting by the front door, and Caroline paused, looking at all of them.

Bonnie was the first one to move, and she practically tackled Caroline back up the stairs. "I'm sorry I was being such a bitch," She muttered against Caroline's chest. "I promise I won't judge you for sleeping with Klaus ever again if you just stay here."

"I have to go Bonnie," Caroline muttered, stroking the witch's hair.

"Please Caroline," Bonnie begged, her eyes starting to water.

"No tears," Caroline ordered, wiping one away. She moved towards the door again and opened it, but didn't quite exist. She glanced over at Alex and gave him a wink. "Defiantly better than Klaus."

Alex immediately caught on and smirked. "Make it out alive and I'll show what else I'm better at then Klaus."

Caroline laughed and smiled fondly at her protégé. "Take care little brother."

"Just until you return sister," He smiled

She nodded once before smiling at everyone else and finally left. It was practically a suicide mission, but she faced everything else life threw at her, she'd survive this.

The click of the door being closed echoed through the house and Bonnie nearly broke down in tears from it. It signified that Caroline was really gone and may not be returning.

"You know Caroline Bonnie, she's be fine," Alex said quietly.

"What is she won't be?" Bonnie asked, whipping around to face him. "What if this time she isn't okay Alex?"

"She will be. You can't doubt her Bonnie," Alex said.

"You can't have this much confidence in her," Bonnie shot back.

"Yes I can, because I've seen her do everything, and beat everything that was placed in front of her. So why shouldn't I have confidence in her?" Alex demanded.

"Because she's not immortal Alex!" Bonnie yelled.

"We're all immortal Bonnie, everyone here is actually, everyone but you. So watch it," Alex said dangerously.

"No, immortal means you can't be killed, and as far I'm concerned, she can be killed. Her heart can be ripped out, her head could be ripped off, a sliver could make its way into her heart and she'll die. She can be killed, and the longer we all pretend otherwise, the less time we'll have with her. We all assume she can't be beat, but it's only because she hasn't yet."

"Exactly, she hasn't been beaten yet, and she won't."

"What happens if she does? Because I don't know about you Alex, but I have no plans outside of this. I have no one else besides Caroline."

"Then I pity you witch, especially since you're so attacked to such a worthless women," Klaus said.

"Shut up, Bonnie hissed at him. "You all have no problem judging her and treating her like she's worthless, but without her none of you would be here right now."

"I see spending too much time with Kol has affected you. I apologize for that, he has that effect on a lot of people," Klaus said, looking sickly amused.

"Laugh at me all you want Klaus, but Caroline has sacrificed too much for all of you. She has taken so many beatings, so may loses. She had been humiliated, degraded, and treated like dirt, and for what? For a bunch of stuck up Originals with no sense of humanity or self-preservation? I wish all of those times Caroline asked for a spell to save you, I wish I would have said screw it and let all of you die," Bonnie spat, storming past everyone and charging upstairs.

Everyone was silent as they digested Bonnie's words, or that was till Alex spoke up. "Caroline is the most patient person I know, but even after a while, she can snap. That's why I never understood how she could deal with Mikael day in and day out. You know what she told me when I asked her how she did it? She told me it was for you. It for his children. As long as they didn't have to deal with him anymore, she said she could. She said they deserved a life of peace, a life where they could settle down, have a home. I always thought she was crazy, that complete strangers didn't deserve that, and now that I've met you, all of you, I still believe that. You didn't deserve it then, and you certainly don't deserve it now."

Klaus's POV

Hearing how much these fold cared about her made him sick. She acted so heroic, so righteous, and innocent. When in reality, she was a manipulator, and an annoying twit who tore his heart out. He let her in and the result was nearly life ending, remind Klaus exactly why he didn't let himself feel. If you felt, then you opened yourself up to get hurt, and he had no desire to do so. As far as he was concerned, Caroline Forbes was dead to him, and if she made it back alive, he could insure she was dead to everyone else as well.

Short, yes, but next chapter is (hopefully) going to be pretty large. Large chapters need some motivation, which I find through reviews.
