Grounded Part 1
North slowly ground out his words,
"You. Three. Are. Grounded."
There was silence in the woods for a full ten seconds before Jack's nervous laugh filled the air. It quickly stopped as he took another look at North's face.
"Wait, you're serious?"
North crossed his arms over his chest, "Do I look like I am joking?"
The trio of troublemakers glanced at one another, and without ceremony or discussion, they took off. Pitch quickly shadow-traveled back to his lair, Bunny tunneled to his Warren, and Jack flew off to… Well, who knows where?
A smirk crossed the Cossack's face. Just like he had planned.
Quickly he ran back to his sleigh, portal traveling back to the Pole.
He had some sacks to find.
Fifty-two minutes, three prototypes, twelve cookies, and nine yetis later, the plan was finally ready to put into action.
North let out a booming laugh as he sent the yetis on their way. Those three needed to be taught a lesson, and so they would be. Leaning back in his chair, North stroked his beard. He couldn't really blame them for their actions – Cupid's arrows were notorious for causing poor judgment. Still, the lesson still had to be learned. If everything went well, he'd have them at the Pole, and cleaned up within the hour. He'd make them stay for about two weeks. By then the arrow's potency should have worn off. The spell would still be in effect, but a lot less than it was currently. And anyways, North didn't want it to wear off all the way. Here, the Guardians had a chance to turn Pitch's ways.
Smiling, North twisted in his seat, making sure that the new inventions were in their places, ready to be used on the trio. There they sat. North congratulated himself on the idea. These would make it possible for him to keep them grounded at the Pole.
Yes, this was a very clever plan.
Jack let out a yell as he spun through the air. This situation was very familiar. He just wondered how many times he would be stuffed into a sack and tossed through a portal before North figured out that he hated it. (It had happened exactly thirteen times already!)
This time though, something different happened. Instead of waiting for him to crawl out, the yetis dragged him into the open room, held him down as he squirmed, and clamped something on his ankle.
After they had accomplished their tasks, Bobby and Natasha quickly backed away from the winter spirit, not wanting to be frozen solid.
For a minute Jack sat stunned on the floor, taking in his surroundings. He had landed in the main sitting room, and found North standing over by the window. Bunny sat on the floor, tugging at something on his ankle, while Hanna and
Meryl stood nearby. Another portal soon opened, Matt quickly dropping the sack he held, and grabbing something off of the coffee table. Fred dragged an unwilling Pitch out of the bag, and Matt clamped something down on his leg.
Jack quickly looked at his own ankle, finding a thin silvery band attached to it. He tugged and twisted it, hoping to take it off.
"What is this?" Pitch asked with a sneer, picking himself off of the ground.
North turned, answering with a note of pride in his voice, "Is ankle bracelet tracker!"
"What?!" Bunny sounded alarmed.
Jack furrowed his brow, and then took an even closer look at the technology, commenting, "This doesn't look anything like one. I've seen some before, they're a lot bulkier."
"Ah, yes, is new invention of mine!" North beamed at them, seemingly not noticing the stricken looks on all their faces.
A slightly alarmed look appeared on Pitch's face. "What does it do?"
"It keeps you grounded here at the Pole!"
North was cut off by the sudden cries of the trio. "WHAT?! NO!"
He simply nodded, still smiling, "Yes, you three deserve punishment, no? I said you are grounded and so you are! Come, I had yetis get baths ready!"
More yells of protest were heard, but the yetis were strong enough to drag all three of them off to the showers.
The room was soon empty, except for the Cossack and a few elves. A booming laugh rattled the windows, and North shook his head. This promised to be a very interesting two weeks.
A/N: So, it's super tiny, sorry… Next one will make up for it! (Hopefully
I plan on two more chapters for this arc (Maybe three if I feel that I need more)
