A/N: Hey guys. Aren't you glad I updated?
There is a VERY IMPORTANT AUTHOR'S NOTE AT THE BOTTOM.
REPEAT: VERY, VERY, VERY IMPORTANT A/N AT THE BOTTOM. Please at least read the part about the choices.
Thanks for reading :D. (And no, this isn't a requested chapter, sorry for the long wait. It is more fully explained at the bottom. And I don't like this chapter much either.)
Disclaimer: A disclaimer by any other name would still be as annoying. I don't own, no matter what you call it.
Centers
Sometimes, he never wanted to come down.
Ground was where he was walked through and reminded of his insecurities. Sky was where he was free and happy.
But, there was no one to do anything with up there.
Even though he was never recognized for his work in helping people have a good time, Jack enjoyed seeing people smile.
That was why he didn't hide in the clouds all the time.
And, up there, he had no chance of anyone seeing him. Three hundred years, and he still was searching for someone to care. Just one person.
He hoped. That was all he could do. Even though it was a flickering wish, he held onto it with everything he had.
Up there, he couldn't search for clues from his past. He couldn't even think about it up there, where he lost himself in the blue and wind and wet and cool. He couldn't remember the good times he'd had in various places before.
But, a part of him could never give up that one small dream for a home and a family.
If there was one thing he wanted, it was a family. Even if he didn't acknowledge this need, he knew it was there.
He often spent his time in the sky just thinking about the perfect person who'd care. Someone who'd love him unconditionally. It was a common daydream for him.
But sometimes, he'd just fly. High in the clouds, where no one had a chance of finding him. It was beautiful, wonderful, up there. When he'd soar over everything the humans had build, and through the areas they'd never found, he'd find in himself an appreciation for everything there.
Ground was pain, reminders and hurt, but it was also enjoyment, memories, and hope.
Sky was freedom, excitement, and dreams, along with avoidance, absence, and numbness.
He could never choose which he liked best.
This is a very important author's note: please, please, please read (at least the part about the choices):
Let's get down to business. (And, I am so sorry about the short chapter and freaky long author's note.)
Facts: I haven't been updating as often as I like. I haven't yet finished everyone's requests. White Wings hasn't yet been replaced. I've been battling writer's block. I have one story on mini hiatus. I've started using Tumblr. And, I got my own laptop.
My Opinions: I need to update more. Requests should be done by now. White Wings needs to get on out of here. I need to write more. I need to finish my other story. Tumblr is distracting me. A laptop can help me write more.
What's going on:
Life hit me like a two-by-four to the face. I've been incredibly busy, and my stories have suffered for it. Plus, I've been a bit down in the dumps for a while, and writer's block sucks. I found a major plot hole in the arc that was supposed to replace White Wings, and now have to rewrite pretty much the whole thing. I can no longer look back at the first chapters in this story without cringing at them. Each of the requests is about half-finished, but none are completely... complete.
I need your thoughts on the following. Do you want me to choose choice A, B, C, or D?
Choice A: I continue to update this story, but with every new chapter I 'revamp' (an improved chapter) an old one, eventually taking White Wings out. Requests would be in the new updates. In this scenario, updates wouldn't occur as often, and it might get a bit confusing for new readers in the beginning.
Choice B: I take a break from normal updates (with an occasional very small chapter here and there), and completely rewrite everything that needs it. Once that is done, I post the revamped chapters in a massive update, and then return to normal updating with all of the requests.
Choice C: Finish up the requests, post them first, then continue to update. Every other update is a revamp. White Wings takes much longer to be posted singularly. Updates seem fewer.
Choice D: Whatever you think is best. In this scenario, please P.M. me or write it in a review. Must include info about: requests, revamps, updates, and White Wings.
I have a poll on my profile about this if you don't want to review/P.M.. You can do one or both.
I will choose the option with the most votes, or the idea I like best.
Thank you so, so, so much for being so awesome and reading a stinkin' author's note longer than the terrible chapter. You guys rock. If you have any questions, please ask. Thanks for reading and being so patient!
