Things have quieted down since the experiment of going inside Darren's mind, and they planned to call it quits, for one main horrible reason. They were fighting a baby. Compared to the other things inside, the child they were fighting compared to the rest was a new born baby. They barely got out of there alive so they called it quits and woke Darren up. Badly for Bubblegum when he woke up, he woke up screaming grabbed her by the neck and began to strangle her. He was still in a state of shock and had to be contained for a while. Since then Bubblegum, out of options, made Finn, Jake, and Darren, look for yang and bring him to her for his punishment. Finn, Jake, and Darren went everywhere asking everyone if they have seen him, they came up empty every time. Except for one time when they saw him. It was Darren just fucking with them cause of boredom.

Now the three had a free day, so they decided to go out of a while.

"Were gonna go to Marcy's and party out loud.

We're gonna play till the sun comes up."

"Gonna eat tasty snacks

that Marcy shall serve."

"Go to hell both of you." Darren let out weak groans. Finn and Jake groaned in response for Darren breaking the beat.

"Darren come on, be excited." Finn told.

"Finn, we've been looking for 'yang' for a week and a half. A fucking week and half, WITH NO FUCKING SLEEP. A man can go for so long without sleep till he starts to act like a dick. And I reached that limit a long time ago. And I call slavery for you dragging me everywhere you go." Darren said. He was right now being dragged by Jake across the ground.

"Darren get up no one likes a party pooper." Jake told shaking him a little.

"Go to hell." Darren told.

"Well then this will wake you up." Jake said. Darren felt himself get off the ground and felt the air blow against his skin. He opened his eyes to see that he was going face first to Marcelines window.

"Jake?" Finn yelled followed by glass shattering. Jake grabbed Finn and ran towards Marceline's house to see a window broken. Finn and Jake went though the window. "Darren, Darren." Finn whispered.

"Finn stop whispering and find him, then get the heck out of here before Marceline realizes we did this." Jake yelled. He turned on the lights to be able to see. The place was deserted. Only the glass covered the floor and Darren was nowhere to be seen. "Find him." Jake yelled looking under the couch, the sound of shuffling was heard on the top floor. Finn and Jake shared a look. Finn looked trough the small opening of the ladder, it was dark and dirty. Clothes have been scattered on the floor along with empty bottle cans and plates with food having half the red sucked out of them. Finn was about to go upstairs till arms wrapped around his mouth and was taken into the closet. "Shh." Jake said who was keeping Finn quiet then pointed out the closet to show a tired Marceline stumbling towards her bed.

Marceline has been up this past week looking for that book that Darren told her when they were drunk. No luck on finding it, she had no clue on how it looked like, location, or even a title. Marceline exhaled and let her jacket drop to the floor, she was too tired so she let herself drop onto the bed. Even though she never really layed on this, she could tell it felt odd. She punched the pillow to have a grunt come from it. She opened her eyes got up and yanked the bed sheets away to find Darren rubbing his ribs where Marceline had hit him.

"What the- ugh, heull." Darren gasped while Marceline grabbed him by the throat hoisting him in the air.

"What do you think you're doing in my domain." Marceline hissed at him.

"Finn and Jake brought me here." Darren rasped trying to pry Marceline's hand of his throat. Marceline sniffed the air and looked towards the closet, she flew towards it with Darren still gasping for air. Marceline opened the door to find nothing there, she checked behind everything, nothing alive was in there except for a few spiders.

Finn and Jake were trembling in fear. Out of panic Jake shrank in size and ran out the small hole in the wall he first made in this situation, leaving Finn alone. Finn quickly rummaged through his backpack and found what he was looking at, those small orbs he 'borrowed' from Bubblegum. He crushed it and the particles escaped through the small hole.

Marceline glared at Darren, who was smiling at her. "What. What are you going to do, kill me." Darren chuckled.

"Ahhh, you bitch, you ughhghjhsh" Marceline was right now holding Darren's ankle and holding him under water. Marceline didn't know what got over her. She was just going to beat him up a little. But instead she stayed quiet floated outside and holded him upside down and continued to dunk him underwater. She has been doing it for like 20 minutes. Marceline stopped hearing him, all she did was instinct, she would hear some words then dunk him, hear some coughs then dunk him. She wasn't even in control of herself anymore.

"*Panting * Alright I give, you hear I gi-" Marceline wasn't even hearing him she was acting on pure instincts and dunked him once more underwater. Darren gurgled and kicked helplessly, his movements slowing down as the water began to fill his lungs. Darren felt his body go cold, his vision blurring away then darkness. Marceline lifted him up again this time she heard nothing from him, she snapped out of it. She looked at Darren, mouth wide open, eyes starring blankly at space. She shook him a little. She dropped him in the ground to have him respond, nothing. She floated closer and kicked him on his sides still nothing. She placed her ear close to his heart, there was no heart beat. He was dead, Marceline looked around the cave then back to Darren. She stepped on his stomach, his body moved but only from the contact.

Marceline began to panic, she grabbed him by his wet shirt and started to shake him violently, she stopped when she heard a loud cracking sound she looked at him to find she has snapped his head sharply to the side to see a bone trying to break from the skin. She let go of him letting his body hit the ground. She floated in circles thinking what to do. She slowly began to push him towards the river with her foot. Darren's body just floated aimlessly in the water. Marceline floated back towards her house. Then came back screaming and smashed her TV set at him, the river began to come to life with electricity, the lightbulbs from her house blew up cause the cord was still attached to the TV when she threw it. The cave was now completely dark, except for the electricity that continued to move through the river. Both Darren and the TV set sinked to the bottom.

Marceline floated back to her house and layed on her bed thinking what she has done. She looked at her palm covered hand, she cautiously took of her glove letting the air in, she saw the mark in her hand slowly fade away. A sign that Darren was really dead, she looked out her window to see river there. She went to her bed she didn't sleep one bit.

Marceline was in the library, she has been looking for the book Darren told her about, this time with friends the reason because she went straight to Simon's house to find him still the Ice King. She has been double crossed. She needed to find that book. And she couldn't exactly ask the guy who knew about it for he was dead. "Hey, Marceline." Finn's voice was heard, she turned around to see him running towards her.

"Oh, uh, hey Finn, how's things going." Marceline asked uneasily.

"Good, but why are you here. I didn't take you for a reader." Finn asked.

"So what, you're saying I'm too stupid to read." Marceline asked her playfully.

"What, no, I you, you see." Finn stuttered at his words. Marceline laughed at his response.

"Hey, Finn, come help us over here." Marceline heard another voice which made her blood run cold. She floated past Finn looked to the side and her face became more pale. It was Jake next to a giant book and next to him was Darren, completely fine. Marceline shakily looked at her palm the mark was there.

"Marceline, Marceline, Marcy." Finn yelled which caught Darren's attention he turned towards her, she floated out of there followed by her ghost friends. She floated till she made it back to the point of destination. The archives of the past, Turtle Princess told that these were the last remaining books of the Mushroom War. Marceline asked for ones 1000 years ago, and the result 4,890,002 books to go through. She has gone through only 98,786 books, she called her friends to help her on the search and in return they shall get her next album for free. But after seeing him alive and her mark still in her hand she didn't think she was up for it.

She told her friends to find a book mentioning, 'Insanity.' Her friends didn't question it so they began to look for it. Marceline floated back towards Finn's location. She looked everywhere but Darren was no where in sight. Was she going crazy, she killed him right. Marceline quickly covered herself and floated back to her cave. She was near the mouth of her cave suddenly a blinding light came from the inside she floated inside and everything seemed fine. The cord to the TV was still attached and sticking out of the river. She pulled it out and went checked the bottom of the river. She looked everywhere but no sign of Darren's body. She came out of the river soaking wet.

She could smell him, like he was just here, she could feel his presence, it felt disturbing. Was she going crazy, she had to be, there was no way he could have survived that. And Death said when he died he seized to exist. Did she just imagine killing him, it was probably the lack of sleep. Marceline floated inside her home looking behind her some times at the river.

~~~2 days earlier~~~~~~

Darren's body sinked to the bottom of the river being pushed down by the TV set that was thrown to his back. His body hit the floor causing some debris to rise. Along with a certain medallion to get stuck to his hand. His body stayed there motionless for some time. Then something within his thigh began to move. It was the cursed mask that Darren kept strapped to his thigh to use at any time. The mask began to move towards Darren's face then latch its self to him, Darren's body twitched and jerked, the bone going back to its rightful location. His body turning to yin.

Darren took in a gasp of air to have more water enter his lungs. His body acting on his own he sprouted wings and started to flap sending him towards land. He crashed against the earth. Darren grasped his throat trying to hold whatever amount of air in while the mask shifted at its own turning to yang and claw its way out of the water. Once on dry land Darren began to gag and heave out the water within his body. He was on his knees gagging out the water. "T-hyat bitch...she actually tried to kill me." Darren heaved attempting to get to his feet and failed. He laid on the ground coughing out water from time to time. He looked up to see he was miles away from Marceline's cave. After hours of laying down he saw the sun rise. "Yin-yang" Darren spoke, the mask came off and his body was stiff and in intense pain. He placed the mask back on not wanting to deal with the pain and started towards the treehouse.

A day later after rest Bubblegum ordered them to get some books for some research she was doing. There Darren just looked for books to get him home. He asked one of the paper guardians for help, Paper Pete brought him a book. Darren skimmed through the pages till he found a random page that had its corner bent. He looked at it and read. Then instantly looking for his pocket and took out the medallion he had when he got out of the water. It had a picture of 2 people one on each side of the medallion, one boy and the other girl and a line in the middle. When he turned it around it had the boy and the girl except both on one side of the line. Darren looked towards the book. Looked around seeing if anyone was watching and put the book within his jacket and walked out of there.

Darren was back at Marceline's house in front of the river. He was reading the instruction and it seemed easy enough. He put the book within his jacket and took out the medallion and put it on. Darren jumped in, after a few seconds of bubbles emerging from the water's surface a blinding light came from the river followed by Marceline coming to her cave.
