Hey Everybody! Sorry I haven't updated in SO long! My schedule's been kind of hectic recently, and I haven't really had time to just sit down and update, but I decided to do this as tomorrow is my 17th birthday! Anyways, I know that the storyline of my Return of Malefor series seems a bit rushed, but there's a just reason for it. The 9 preceding stories will be relatively short, but the 10th and final volume will be rather large. At least that's my plan. Now, at long last, the next Chapter of The Ties That Bind!
Chapter 6: The Reception, 1730hrs (5:30pm)
The ceremony is over, Spyro and Cynder are married! Or so most would think, truth be told, it's a dragon tradition that the bride and groom aren't officially married permanently by the Ancestors until midnight on their wedding night. Thus giving Ace the time she needs to break up the happy union.
"This is my last chance to complete my mission. I must get back to Lord Malefor with Spyro and Cynder's powers and sorrow by sunset tonight or its curtains for me!" Ace tells herself as she stares on at this moment. "Just look at them, so joyful and happy. It makes me sick! Time to ruin it." Ace then slinks off to put her plan into action.
Meanwhile in the reception hall, Spyro and Cynder's friends are busy celebrating the happy couple's union. The guests are all enjoying the joyous festivities, and several are on the dance floor alongside the happy couple. Suddenly the band strikes up a waltz and we zoom in on Spyro and Cynder as the two of them celebrate their happy union, and for once, the two are extremely joyful, yes they've never been extremely joyful before, they are war veterans for the love of Pete! Anyways, I'm losing my train of thought.
Just as the waltz reaches a high note, in sneaks Enchanting Ace. "This plan better work", she says as she pulls out her amulet from at the beginning of her mission. "I've only got one chance for this to work. Keeping her eyes on the happy couple, she prepares the amulet and a hidden dagger, ready to strike. Suddenly, the camera angle shifts to Spyro and Cynder. "Spyro, this is the happiest moment of my life, and I'm glad to share it with you" Cynder tells her new husband. "You took the words right out of my mouth, Cyn." Spyro tells her. "Cyn? Since when did you have a pet name for me?" She asks. "I just came up with it a few days ago, but I wanted to wait for our marriage to be official to use it" Spyro tells her.
Now this is where things get dramatic, so you might want to pay attention. The orchestra has just stopped its waltz, and just as the crowd on the dance floor turns to applaud the orchestra, Enchanting Ace jumps out with a cry only a demon could utter, and a majority of the crowd scatters, leaving Spyro and Cynder behind.
"You again!" The two newlyweds say at the same time. "You know her?" they then ask each other. "What are you doing here?" Spyro asks the demonic Ace "And why are you here?" Ace puts the dagger in her other hand as she prepares to reply. "I am Enchanting Ace, a demon in the command of the great Lord Malefor, who's spirit has commanded me to get rid of you two so he can continue to prepare for his glorious return!" she tells her targets.
"Whatever your plan is, we won't let you get away with it." Cynder responds, throwing off her wedding veil, ready for action. "Very well then, you choose to resist. Prepare to perish!"
Oh boy, this is absolutely about to go down in the best of ways! Anyways, I'm just going to cut this short, to see what happens next, tune in next chapter, Same Time, Same Channel!
