Sorry about the long wait for an update but it's been really busy over the holiday and both my dad and granddad are in the hospital so it's been pretty hectic. And I'll be travelling to Saudi in a few days and then it'll be good old school :P

Well then unto the story

"Dr Eggman!"

The two turned around to face the said man who was grinning like a madman he was

"Well, well Sonic fancy meeting you here"

Sonic raised his hands up getting ready to fight if he had to

"What do you want Eggman" Sonic questioned

Eggman tried to act innocent

"Oh me well I thought that it was a nice day to come to the park and relax for a while" he replied

Sonic didn't buy it

"Yeah right as if you would do that, your too busy trying to take over the world"

"I'll have you know that it's a lot of work coming up with ingenious schemes! AND YOU DONT HELP EITHER!" Eggman yelled

Eggman than sneered "by the way did you enjoy the little gift for one of your friends"

At this Sonic stepped in front of Chris who Eggman had not yet spotted

Maybe I could get him to talk and give out some answers, thought Sonic

"So what's your plan Egghead, what you get out of targeting one of my friends?" Demanded Sonic

Eggman laughed "why I did it just for fun, also so that I'm able to have leverage over you seeming as I have the only cure for your friend. But I would love to know something, which one of your friends was it who became victimised?" He asked

So Chuck was right about the leverage and it's supposed to be the only cure, that just makes it worse. At least he doesn't know that the victim was Chris that has to be a good thing

"Now why would I tell you that you'll probably kidnap my friend then" growled Sonic

Eggman went red "Well then don't tell me I'll just find out myself, in the meantime why don't you play with my little friend here" Eggman then pushed a red button

The ground under Sonic and Chris started to shake straight below them, Sonic grabbed Chris and jumped away as soon as the ground started to split open to reveal one of Eggman's robot

"Say hello to E-53 Drillmole" announced Eggman

E-53 looked like what his name suggested, an orange mole with a large drill for the snout. It also had a moustache that looked like Eggman's for some reason

"Hey egghead I think your robot has a nose hair problem, bit like you really" laughed Sonic still holding Chris

"Why you little! E-53 attack that rodent!" Yelled Eggman

The snout split into four and missiles started to fly out of it, Sonic quickly sped out of the way. He then put Chris down near the tree he was in before

"Stay here alright and try to stay out the way" he said to which Chris nodded

Sonic then started to spin dash into the side of E-53, the robot then turned to face Sonic with its drill snout starting up as it tried to spear Sonic and make a hole in him.

Sonic had dodged it with ease as he shouted at Eggman

"Is this all you've got Eggman I'm hardly breaking a sweat here. I seriously hope that this isn't your mega scheme 'cause if it is then I honestly have to say that your loosing your touch"

Eggman kept growing red with anger at the hedgehog's comment

"Oh don't worry this isn't my big scheme I'm saving that for later, now time for me to find out which one of your friends got hit"

"Oh yeah and how are you going to figure that out, it's not like I'm telling ya who" questioned Sonic

Eggman smirked "how you ask. Why because of a little microscopic tracker that I invented along with the poison"

Sonic's attention perked as soon as the word 'tracker' came up tracker? And what did he mean by poison

"You see that little tracker can tell me who the person is and where they are, unfortunately i only made one which was the prototype and it can only work once. So once I've gotten my information it will automatically shut down" Eggman explained when he noticed the look on Sonic's face. He then started to press buttons "now, let's find out who it was"

Sonic had to move his focus away from his enemy as the robot started attacking again, Chris was still hiding behind the tree as he still hasn't been spotted.

There was a series of beeps coming from Eggman's carrier until a ringing sound came and a madman grin came upon Eggman's face

"Ahh so it was your little human friend was it hehe and it says here that he's here in the park, perfect! This just makes the job easier" Eggman chuckled

Uh oh this is bad I'd better beat this thing fast and then I could deal with Eggman thought Sonic as he dodged another attack from the robot

Eggman flew near were Chris was hiding, and almost missed seeing him

...almost

"all I see is one mangy mutt!" Eggman banged his fist down on the machine

...huh?

Sonic and Chris couldn't tell if Eggman was messing or not

"Where's the brat hedgehog!" Eggman demanded at Sonic

"Oh like you don't know. You're the one who turned Chris into a dog in the first place"

Eggman gaped "you mean that that mutt is the brat?"

Sonic faltered in his fight at Eggman's shocked face

"Y-you mean that you didn't know that you turned him into a dog. But what about that that thing that you sent Bokkun with?" He questioned

Eggman didn't hear Sonic as he was lost in his thoughts, and he was saying them out loud.

"That dart only contained poison in it, it was to cause his internal systems to start malfunctioning after a few days and then eventually they would of stopped functioning all together" a wicked grin suddenly appeared on his face "I think that this requires some more research, and I may need a little test subject to do that"

Chris didn't like the sound of that as he started backing away from the manic scientist

"Now stay still whilst I grab you" Eggman leered as a mechanical claw (like the machine in the arcade where you grab a stuff toy or something, forgot what it's called) came out from the bottom of his hover craft

Chris jumped out of the way from the claw and started running to get away from the scientist,

Right time to end this little game and get going decided Sonic as he spin dashed underneath and out through the robot, with the robot defeated he ran over to where Chris was and picked him up

"Sorry Eggman but I think it's time for us to leave, i think Chris has had enough of his dog walk for one day" Sonic said getting ready to run back to the Thorndyke's place

Eggman just sneered at the two "not this time hedgehog. If you won't give me that mutt then I'll just take him"

Sonic had no time to react as he was suddenly shoved forward due to an attack from behind, he grunted a little in surprise but he was still standing. He managed to drop Chris by accident and when he looked to check on the boy he found him frozen in shock looking behind Sonic

Sonic quickly turned around to see what his friend was looking at, Sonic also became slightly shocked as well

"Shadow!"

As he was staring at the 'supposed-to-be-dead' hedgehog he didn't notice Eggman come up from behind until it was too late

"Yelp!"

Sonic turned around just to see his friend inside some sort of cage-like hovering miniature robot

"Hold on I'll get yo-"

Sonic couldn't finish his sentence as Shadow started attacking him

"What the heck Shadow. What do you think you're doing?"

Shadow said nothing but just looked at Sonic with cold eyes and continued fighting him

Eggman starting laughing "Well look at the time as much fun as it is watching this I think it is time to take our leave"

Shadow took that as his cue as he moved back to Eggman's side. In his hand was a yellow chaos emerald

Before Sonic could do anything though the three were gone from chaos control

"Damn It!"
