Natsu's Tutoring Service

"Wendy Marvell?"

Natsu (cutely) asked as he bit a cookie Lucy baked earlier. "Yep! A freshman in the junior high division!" the ghost happily replied.

After the whole Jellal-Erza (or JeRza, in Lucy's words) incident, Lucy had another favour to grant, which was introducing Natsu to a young bluenette.

"What about her? Oh, wait...don't tell me you promised you'd make another love letter?!"

"What? Of course not!" Lucy said with a chuckle, "You see, Wendy-chan has been having a hard time in her studies..."

"And?"

"Exactly how good are you in Math?"

Natsu stared at her dumbfounded before finally blinking his eyes, "Excuse me, what?"

"You see..." the blonde ghost started to explain, "I sorta promised Wendy-chan I'd help her in her studies soooo-"

"So you want me to teach her?"

"Yeah!" Lucy snapped her fingers in delight, "You're doing good, Nat-chan! Good boy!"

'What am I, a dog?' Natsu thought exasperatedly before sighing, "I hate to break it to you but I can't even get a D- in Math."

.

.

.

"What?"

"I'm horrible at Math."

"Oh..."

"Let's just skip her and go to-"

"It's fine, Nat-chan!" she happily yelled, cutting Natsu, "I'll be teaching you Math from now on so you won't get that fantastic red mark anymore on your report card!"

'Fantastic red mark?' the pinkette curiously thought.

"You know what? Let's not just do Math! Let's do all the subjects!" Lucy offered, "In that way, you won't be getting such a hard time in your studies! Am I right or am I right?!"

"You're loud and annoying."

"Oh shut up. You're just thankful."

"Yeah, whatever..."

Lucy let out a small chuckle before floating up to the ceiling, "So what do you say? Are ya up for it?"

Natsu stared at Lucy intently before flashing a small smile.

"Alright, let's start!"

XXX

For the first time, Natsu had found himself actually improving in his studies. His routine after school changed and instead of smoking, he began drinking the spicy orange juice Lucy would make him.

It is unknown why or how Lucy makes it but it's really fitting for Natsu's taste.

Mavis knows what she put in there.

Anyways, putting that aside, both the lad and the ghost had began for their second mission, a quest to improve Wendy Marvell's grades.

Natsu Dragneel stood in front of a small but warm house, his eyes nervously twitching and his fingers shakily reaching for the doorbell. Before he could even press the button, he looked behind him and saw Lucy mouthing 'Go on.'.

He let out one final sigh before finally ringing the doorbell.

"Yes?"

Natsu swore he froze in his spot when he heard a woman's voice at the door. "Is there something you need?" she asked.

"Y-yes ma'am," he nodded, "actually, I came here for your daughter. I was sent by Lucy to t-teach her..." Lucy couldn't help but chuckle when he squeaked at the final word. Was he really that nervous?

"Oh, you mean Lucy-chan?"

"Y-yes..."

"Then come in, come in!" the blue-haired woman quickly stepped aside and gestured for Natsu to come in.

"S-sorry for barging in..."

"Didn't know you could be so nice." Lucy said. Natsu threw him a look and hissed.

"Is there something wrong, dear?"

"None, ma'am."

"Oh, don't call me ma'am," she chuckled, "my name's Grandine Marvell. Children usually call me Grandeeney. And you are?"

"Natsu Dragneel."

"Natsu...Dragneel?" Grandine quickly tilted her head to the side, as if remembering something, "I swore I've heard that name before. It rings a bell..."

"Is it my father, Igneel?"

Grandine quickly opened her eyes in shock and smiled at him, "Yes, that's right! You must be Igneel's son, right? Oh, that guy. He never told me his boy was handsome."

Natsu immediately pinked from her compliment and bowed, "T-thanks..."

"Oh no, thank you," Grandine flashed him a sweet smile, "you made your way here just to teach my daughter. That alone is really enough for me to thank you. I'll just go upstairs to call Wendy, okay?"

"Okay.." Natsu nodded like an elementary student and sat uncomfortably on the chair.

"Are you really that nervous?" Lucy asked as she floated beside him.

"O-of course!"

Lucy only chuckled and ruffled his hair, "Don't worry, they're both really friendly. I'm sure you'll like Wendy, 'cause you're the same as her."

"Huh?" he turned around to face the blonde, "What are you-?"

"Natsu-kun!"

Natsu Dragneel, once more, froze in his spot and turned around robotically, "H-hai?"

"This is my daughter, Wendy," Grandine pulled a blue-haired girl from behind and pushed her to Natsu's direction, "come on, dear. Don't be shy."

The girl immediately blushed and bowed, "N-nice to m-meet you, m-my name is Wendy M-Marvell."

"I'm sure you'll like Wendy, 'cause you're the same as her."

'What did she mean by that?' Natsu curiously thought as he examined the girl head-to-toe.

Wendy, on the other side however, was already in fright at the boy standing in front of her. She didn't like it whenever someone was inspecting her. Unfortunately, Natsu didn't get the message and still continued staring.

"Stop staring, you idiot!" Lucy yelled from the other side.

"O-oh, sorry..." Natsu's thoughts were scattered as he averted his gaze.

"Come on now, introduce yourself."

Natsu nodded at the older woman and bowed, "My name is Natsu Dragneel and I'll be your tutor from now on."
