Hey guys! It's been way too long! School does that...unfortunately! This chapter is kind of short, but I think it's really good. At least the first part anyway. I do apologize if you can't exactly picture what's going on. I can picture it in my head, and I tried my best to describe it, but I'm not perfect. If y'all are confused, I truly am sorry.
Y'all have waited long enough! Here's chapter 29!
Chapter 29: Double Vision
Maybeck placed a finger over his lips to signal silence, gripping the door handle to the abandoned hotel tighter. Philby and Patrick held up their guns, ready to shot anyone who wasn't welcoming to them.
Charlene counted to three through hand signals and nodded at Maybeck, who was about to swing the door open...
The sound of a gun firing made all of them turn around. Before them stood Greg, Spencer, Jeanie and some other girl Jess didn't know.
Charlene and Mattie threw up their hands in surrender.
"Whoa! Marcus, it's me, Storey!"
Jess hadn't seen Storey or Marcus there.
"It's over Whitless. They left you," Greg said as he pointed his gun down at someone who wasn't there.
"You guys have got to get out of here!" Someone yelled, it almost sounded like...like...Dillard? How could that be possible?
"Leave him alone!" Finn yelled back.
Jess couldn't see Finn. Or Marcus. Or Storey. Or Dillard. The sound of guns firing made it hard to hear. It sounded like a battle was going on around her.
Maybeck fell face first to the ground as the door swung open. Patrick turned his gun and fired into the open room.
A blood-curdling scream turned into an evil laugh. Jess turned around to see Greg grabbing something obviously invisible to Jess and pulling it up. He said something to it before firing the gun and throwing the thing, or person, he was holding on to the ground with a lot of force.
"Whoa!" The still unseen Marcus yelled.
"Little Finny, no one who loves you, no one who cares." The girl with Greg whom Jess didn't know taunted.
Another scream of agony echoed through the park—this time from Philby. Jess turned and saw him grasping his bloody stomach.
"Not again," Finn cried out. Jess could hear the agony and pain in his voice.
"Use it!" Maybeck yelled at the top of his lungs. "Dang it Willa! Now!"

Underneath Mickey's Sorcerer Hat
1:02 P.M.
Jess gasped. She opened her eyes and saw Willa, Amanda and Lizzie staring at her.
"Auntie Jessie?" Lizzie asked. "What wrong?"
Jess caught her breath and glanced over at Amanda, seeing the recognition on her face.
"What did you see?" Willa asked.
"It...it was like two visions in one," Jess stuttered. "Two events were happening in the same place but at different times. B-b-b-but I was seeing him at the same time."
"What did you see?" Amanda asked.
"I saw Maybeck and the rest of the group at the Tower of Terror trying to break in." Jess glanced at Willa, deciding whether or not to tell her about Philby. "And I stepped back and there was this in-between zone where the visions overlapped. And...and everyone in that area was invisible. I could hear them, but I couldn't see them."
"Who did you hear?"
"Guns shots, and Storey and Marcus...and..." Jess trailed off. Based off what she heard, she didn't want Amanda to know. She didn't know the difference between the time of the two visions, but Finn's sounded later. But she couldn't know for sure.
"Was Finn there?"
Crap, Jess thought to herself. "Uh...I thought I heard him," she lied. "I'm not sure though. The gunshots were really loud."
Her sister eyed her suspiciously, but said nothing.
"So what do you suggest we do?" Willa asked, not caring as Lizzie slid out of her grasp.
"I think we're supposed to go meet them." Jess closed her eyes trying to picture it again. She couldn't. "I heard Maybeck yell something with your name in it, Willa."
Willa shoved her hand in her pocket, grasping on to something that Jess couldn't see. "Let's go."
"But we don't have any guns or anyway to defend ourselves!" Amanda protested. She glanced at Jess, wanting her to take back what she had said. "We're not going, right Jess?"
"Uh…"
Amanda narrowed her eyes. "Jess…"
"We have to Amanda! Finn might be there."
Amanda took a deep breath and stewed. After a few seconds she rolled her eyes. "Fine, but I'm going first. I'm the only one that can defend us right now."
Before Jess or Willa could say or do anything, Amanda walked away from them and toward the Tower of Terror. Willa picked up Lizzie.
"Mommy, where are we going?"
"We're going home, sweetie." Willa kissed the top of her head and started off past Amanda. "You have to be really quiet okay?"
Lizzie nodded and held on to her mother tighter. Jess followed behind. Finn better be with them the second we get there, Jess thought to herself. I'm gonna kill him otherwise.

Tower of Terror
1:09 P.M.
Maybeck walked up to the entrance to the Tower of Terror. He couldn't believe he was saying this, but it looked awful.
Before this whole curse thing, the hotel was supposed to look as if it was abandoned and creepy and all that. But now it looked even worse—if that was possible.
He walked up to the door where one would normally enter the ride at and found it barricaded shut. He moved the various items blocking the door to the side. He put his ear to the door and heard a few people's voices. He couldn't make out exactly who it was, but it sounded like they were fighting.
He grabbed the door handle and turned to face his friends.
Maybeck placed a finger over his lips to signal silence, gripping the door handle to the abandoned hotel tighter. Philby and Patrick held up their guns, ready to shot anyone who wasn't Finn. Charlene counted to three through hand signals and nodded at Maybeck, who was about to swing the door open when a bullet went straight through the door about five inches from his hand.
The entire group turned around, except Maybeck, who was still shocked at almost getting shot. In the distance, not too far down the street, stood a masked man with a machine gun aimed right at them.
Charlene and Mattie threw up their hands in surrender.
Storey stepped forward. She squinted at the person, studied the person before rolling here eyes. "Whoa! Marcus, it's me, Storey!"
"Storey?" The man unmasked himself and started heading their way. "What are you guys doing here? You're not supposed to be here!"
"What did you think you were doing? Taking a vacation?"
Marcus rolled his eyes. "Move aside losers. Let me tell Whitman and Dillboy that it's just you guys."
Charlene's eyes went wide. "Finn's inside?"
Marcus gave her a confused look. "Duh? Why else were you guys here?"
"Amanda—"
Philby cut in. "It's not important why we're here. Let us get Finn so we can go home."
Marcus turned to Charlene. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Amanda's here? With you?"
"Yeah. Why do you care?" Charlene raised an eyebrow. "Who are you anyway?"
Marcus cleared his throat and knocked on the door three times. "Not important."
Marcus took a step back. Storey put a hand on his shoulder and started talking to him in hushed tones. Maybeck glanced at Philby and gave him a what the heck look.
Charlene turned around and gasped. She turned back around with a startled look on her face. Just as Charlene was about to explain, the door swung open, causing Maybeck to land face first on his face. He felt the burn of the concrete as his cheek collided with the concrete. He blacked out for a few seconds, but the sound of Patrick firing his gun brought him back to full consciousness.
"Whoa!" Marcus yelled. "Guys! What are you doing? It's us!"
The sound of gunfire and screams echoed over his head. Most of them sounded…almost girly. But he saw Charlene next to him, trying to get the door off of him without getting shot. Who's screaming?
He heard a scream of agony and saw Philby fall backwards onto the ground, blood spewing from his stomach. Maybeck's eyes went wide. His best friend could be dead right now but he couldn't think about that now.
"Philby!" Willa screamed. Willa? And then it hit him. WILLA!
Amanda had to hold back Willa with all her might. Jess was holding Lizzie tight.
"Philby!" Willa cried out.
"Willa! Just calm down! They're shooting at us! Now is not the time to be irrational!"
Willa, tears streaming down her face, pushed off of Amanda and glared at her a look nobody thought she had—the you are dead to me look.
"What if it was Finn that was shot? Huh?"
"Willa!" Maybeck called out with all his might. "Use it!"
Willa reached into her pocket and pulled out some kind of talisman on a string. Amanda didn't know what it was, but she had a feeling it wasn't something she was going to like it.
"Dang it Willa!" Maybeck called out at the top of his lungs. "USE IT NOW!"
Willa grabbed Amanda's arm with one hand and Jess' in the other. Despite the fact that there were still some bullets flying out of the Tower of Terror, she pulled the two sisters and her daughter toward their friends.
They reached Maybeck, Charlene and Philby and ducked down. Lizzie started crying at the sight of her father bleeding. Willa grasped her husband's hand so tightly surely he was losing feeling in it.
"This better work Dell Philby!" She scolded him before kissing him passionately for a few, brief seconds. She held up the talisman and slammed it on the ground, watching it scatter into a million pieces.
Amanda watched as it swirled and started to smoke. She had never seen anything like this before.
"Amanda!" A voice called out from far away.
Amanda snapped her head up and saw Finn standing at the far edge of the room inside the Tower of Terror. His brown hair was disheveled and his green eyes, though so far away, were showing exhaustion, but upon seeing her, there was a spark. The one that she always saw in his eyes when he was looking at her. A smile started to grow on his face just at the sight of her.
It was the little things like that that made her heart melt.
He was holding on to his left arm with his right hand, a little bit of blood staining his fingers, with his wedding ring reflecting a light from inside the room.
"Finn," she whispered, suddenly unable to find her voice. She reached out toward him hoping that he would suddenly get closer, but the talisman smoke covered her up, cutting her off from him. She couldn't see him, but she could feel his presence. She wanted to get up and run into his arms, but she couldn't feel her legs. They weren't moving. Nothing was too working. It was like the world didn't want her to be with her husband.
Her vision started to blur. Jess, who was within arms length, was starting to become a big blur of color.
"Amanda!" Finn's scream was the last thing she heard before she blacked out.
Duh...duh...duh!
What's going to happen next? Any ideas? Was Finn close enough to make it back with them? Is Philby dead? Did Patrick make it back with them? What about Marcus, Storey, Dillard & Mattie? Heck, did the talisman even work? So many questions...which will be answered in chapters to come!
Oh goodie the next chapter's going to be so good! I'm so pumped! I'm going to try to get it up as fast as possible. I don't want to leave y'all in suspense for too long. ;)
Have a wonderful weekend! And don't forget to review! I love reading them :)
