Chapter 5

It passed a year since Masato's death. Lots of things have changed during this time. Atsushi was made in charge of the science project and now he was giving away the orders to others scientists. Atsushi never felt so proud before. Everyone respected him, though he knew that some of scientists were jealous of his new position, even though it was just a trial period. However, he heard the rumours that it would change at any time soon and he would be in charge permanently.

However, there was other feeling besides happiness and pride, guilt. Atsushi felt guilty that he decided to work for people, who killed such the nice person like Masato. The worst thing was that, even if he knew that Masato would be killed, he would do nothing about it.

Atsushi's dream was to gain the boss' trust, which he kind of obtained, though he knew that there was a long road to make the boss completely trust him, though it didn't mean that he trusted the boss.

He knew that if he would make a wrong move, he would end up like Masato.

This thought terrified him.

He didn't want to die now, not before the project that he was working on with other scientists was finished.

This science project was the main reason why he didn't run away from this place as far as he could

It was his dream to complete this science project, which would bring a great change to the world. He and all scientists worked hard on it to achieve it. Even, the scientists, who didn't know about the organization's real goal, were working very hard as well. Atsushi also realized that even they didn't know about it, the knowledge that they had about the research was also needed and connected to the true aim.

Atsushi knew that this organization is the only source of his and others' happiness and he should not give up, because someone did not approve it, though he wished people wouldn't die, because of it, but he knew, there was nothing he could do about it, not if he wanted to complete this project.

Are you crazy?

Dejima's voice echoed in Atsushi's head.

He tried to think as less as possible about Dejima. Every time, when Dejima came to his mind, the guilt in his heart rose even more.

He hated that people had to die, so this science project would be completed without any problems.

He wished he could change it, but he knew that he would have to give up on this project and probably his life as well.

Atsushi knew that the boss would not let him go, if he suddenly said he doesn't want to work anymore, but then again Atsushi didn't want to leave the organization. Its goal excites him, so much that he was almost forgetting about morals.

He was aware that he had to forget about morality, though he assumed that the boss had other opinion about whether their actions were moral or not.

He decided that it was better not to discuss his concerns with the boss.

Atsushi could not imagine them to kill him, if he only express his opinion, but he rather not to risk it.

He couldn't help it, but he felt a fear towards the boss, even though he was a nice and he never shouted at him, however, his cold voice made him shiver every time, when he heard them.

It was weird, but he didn't feel any fear towards Pisco, Pisco who was shouting at everyone around him all the time and he was responsible for Masato's death.

He also couldn't fully respect Pisco, even though he was older than him and on higher position in the organization, though he still gave him the pretended respect.

Speaking of Pisco, he wondered, when he would be back from London.

Pisco came in the morning to his lab and informed him that he was going to London in order to get a new member, who will be in the charge of the science project together with Atsushi.

Before, Atsushi could ask any question, Pisco already left.

He didn't like the idea to share his position with anyone else.

The new member was probably some big brain, who probably will be bossing around.

However, Atsushi had no other choice now than to wait.

A young woman in her early twenties was waiting for someone in the terminal.

She hid her blue eyes behind the sunglasses and her long reddish-blond hair was falling over her long white coat.

She patiently waited and she didn't react to anything what was going on around her as if it was only her in this terminal and no one else.

The person, whom she was awaiting for, finally appeared.

He smiled towards her and he offered his hand to her.

"It's good to see you again Elena-san. I hope your flight went without any problems."

Elena looked at him and her first thought that came to her head was, his smile is fake.

She took off her sunglasses and then she slightly bowed at him and responded to him with her quiet and gentle voice.

"It was alright Pisco-san."

"Hey, what did I say about calling me by my codename in the public places?" Pisco was still wearing the fake smile, though the corners of his lips dropped down a little.

"I apologize, Masuyama-san. I understand that the organization still maintain in the secrecy," Elena stated with her polite voice.

"Of course, it is a good thing that you did not forget, about not saying my codename," he lowered his voice, "You know, I am always the one, who is taking care of the business outside the organization and because of that my face is now recognizable by quite amount of people. I think, if it is better if people who are not involved in the organization's business will not know anything about it including the codenames of our members."

Pisco's breath had smell of a cigar to Elena's displeasure. She only wanted to get out of the terminal and for Pisco to stop being so bossy.

He always been like that since she met him six years ago.

Having no other choice, she slightly bowed her head.

"We should go now, the car is outside, and we will have a few hours of driving,"

Elena followed him to his black car, where Pisco opened the door of the passenger's seat for her.

She thanked him and got inside the car.

Pisco was asking Elena different questions, starting from how her university's life went ending on how she feels about working for the organization.

Her answers were short but sensible.

She had not much to talk about her life in the university, because honestly there was nothing really for her to say about it. Pisco already knew about everything what she was learning in there, because he visited her several times over the last three years.

Pisco always tried to seem as if these were some nice visits of a good uncle, but Elena always considered them as excuses to check if she was being a good girl.

Elena avoided talking about her almost non-existent social life.

She had a few friends, but she never got close with them. There was no point of having close friends, if you would never see them again.

Elena was aware that the first thing, after she would finish the university, what she would have to do is to work for the organization, where she had practices before.

After they finish discussing her university's life, they moved to her current life in the organization. Elena smiled towards Pisco and said that she is looking forward for it.

"I actually have the good news for you Elena-san. The boss decided that you will not only work on the science project, but you will also be in charge of it, of course with along the other scientist," Pisco grinned at her probably expecting her to squeal in the joy as a teenage girl.

However, Elena looked at him with the puzzled look. She could not understand it, how she could be in charge, if she only had practices there in three years.

It was true that everyone was under the impress of how quickly she learned and she never need an extra help in doing stuff. She also got the highest grades from her course.

However, it was just too weird for her, though she enjoyed that she would be able to work with Endoso-sama. He always was nice to her. She was really happy when she found out from the Pisco, that Endoso-sama was promoted, though she couldn't help it to think that Pisco wasn't happy about it.

Pisco seeing her questioned look, he explained, "You are very smart Elena-san and you made faster progresses over all those six years than other scientists, who work for us."

"Thank you, Pisco-san," she imagined that Pisco would not object for her to use his codename, since they were in the car by themselves. "I am also happy that I will have a pleasure to work with Endoso-sama," Elena genuinely smiled at him; however her smile quickly disappeared as she saw Pisco's face dropped. She expected the worst and she wasn't wrong as she heard about Endoso-sama's and his wife's death.

Elena quietly asked with her shaking voice, "H-how that happened?"

Pisco answered with his cold voice, "He became a problem and we had to eliminate it."

"By killing him?" Tears flowed on Elena's cheeks. All different emotions appeared in her such as sadness, anger and also a fear.

"You are not only smart, but you already matured enough to realize our methods. We told you about the main goal of the organization, before you even started properly working for us, considering that some of our members had to work for years to gain the knowledge about everything what is going on in the organization. You should appreciate everything what we have done for you and the fact that we also put our trust into you," Pisco hissed through his teeth.

Elena did not spoke a word. She just wished for him to stop talking and part of her wish for the car to turn away in another direction.

However, Pisco was right. The organization helped her so much. They helped her to become somebody instead of nobody and most important they gave her a reason for living, their main goal.

Pisco's face softened as he said, "Look Elena-san, I apologize, but I am really nervous, when it comes to keep the organization in the secret. Masato was not a first member who we had to kill off and probably not the last one. The boss does not like it either, but if we would not make the right moves, then we could say goodbye to our dreams. I hope you would understand, Elena-san."

She could not understand the killing part, but she understood why the organization was so careful about keeping their existence in secret. Elena also would not like for the world to find out about what organization was doing.

However, she hated the fact that people had to die, because of it. She wished that there was something that could be done, so people wouldn't die anymore, but she realized that as long as people would try to go against the organization, then there was nothing that could be done.

Elena actually wondered, who would be her new partner, but since she didn't want to speak with Pisco, she remained silent.

Pisco, who clearly got the hint, didn't say anything during the rest of their journey.

Atsushi felt bored; there was nothing for him to do. He was sitting upon the chair browsing some chemical data while yawning.

He heard the door opening, but Atsushi didn't move from his desk, but he only grunted, "I'm busy."

"So am I, waiting for you to get up and meet you new partner," Pisco said with his dry voice.

Great, Big Brain has arrived

Atsushi stood up from his chair to sit down again upon on it. This woman who stood shyly before him, playing with her fingers and looking down try to avoid the eye contact with him, looked as the most beautiful woman in the world.

"What are you doing Miyano-san?! Get up now from this chair now!"

Atsushi got up from the chair and he approached the girl. He took her hand and introduced himself, "I am Miyano Atsushi. It is a big pleasure to meet you."

Elena, who clearly was intimidated by his behaviour, she smiled at him, though she took off her hand and she introduced herself as well, "My name is Wilson Elena."

Atsushi was wrong, Elena wasn't just a woman, she was an angel, a very beautiful angel.
