A flash of green light blinded Scorpina and then she felt a foot connect with her face, sending her backwards and out into the corridor. She fell on her back and looked up. Flashes of green and gold stood before her. Kimberly Hart had become the Green Ranger.
"It's over for you, Scorpina!" Kimberly said. Scorpina jumped to her feet, but Kimberly quickly jumped into a forward flip, quickly closing the distance between them. She kicked Scorpina in the mouth, recovered with a strong right haymaker and then jabbed her in the stomach with her left hand. Scorpina retreated, trying to raise her weapon for attack.
"Dragon Dagger!" Kimberly commanded and the weapon appeared in her hand. Scorpina struck, but Kimberly parried it and delivered a kick right to the center of Scorpina's chest. Kimberly next threw a whirlwind kick and Scorpina blocked it with her armored arm. She thrust with her blade, but Kimberly knocked down her arm and punched her across the face.
Scorpina then took hold of her blade with both hands and swung at Kimberly's mid section. Kimberly parried with the Dragon Dagger and then activated the blade on her sword/gun and swung it at Scorpina's neck, but Scorpina moved her head in time and the blade slashed her helmet. Scorpina fired her eye blasts into her hand and redirected the energy at Kimberly, the room exploded. Part of the blast struck Kimberly's shield and it took most of the burst. Scorpina charged next with her blade over her head and brought it down.
The new Green Ranger crossed her two blades and parried the blow. Sparks flashed between the two blades as the two combatants locked their weapons in a struggle of muscle and power. They growled at each other under grinding teeth, both neither giving an inch to the other.
Kimberly Hart could not help but feel a little exhilaration and confidence. Behind her helmet, in the midst of computer analysis and threat assessment, she couldn't help but smile. Before, Scorpina had the upper hand, but now the playing field had been made even. And Kimberly knew Scorpina hated it.
"Kill you! Kill you!" Scorpina spat. Kimberly smiled mischievously and pushed their arms up and shoved her knee into Scorpina's stomach, it was one of the few places that her armor was not as protective. Scorpina walked back, clutching her injured mid section. Kimberly moved to press her attack, bringing the butt of both her weapons down on Scorpina's head.
The twin blows struck Scorpina and rattled her ears, but she charged forward, wrapping her arms around Kimberly's back and tightened. She ran Kimberly hard into the far wall and then shot her head up, clipping the chin of Kimberly's helmet. Kimberly tried to move away, but Scorpina got one of her hands free and punched the helmet. Kimberly watched a small crack appear on her visor. Scorpina wound her fist back to strike again, but Kimberly was able to duck it and her fist entered the wall behind her.
Scorpina still had Kimberly partially pinned, but she could still move. Kimberly head butt Scorpina again, further cracking the alien's nose. Scorpina staggered backward, letting go of Kimberly and spat out part of a tooth. Blood dribbled down Scorpina's mouth, she almost looked shocked.
"That's what happens when you date a hockey player." Kimberly said as she spun forward and punched Scorpina in the face again. Scorpina spun like a dancer away from Kimberly. She breathed heavily and her face was starting to swell from the bruises on her face. Kimberly held up both of her weapons defensively as both she and Scorpina stood ready, waiting and looking for any weakness to appear in their defense.
She breathed heavily, but Scorpina was impressed, somewhat. The girl had obviously gotten better with time, but she could tell that she was unaccustomed to her weapons. Carrying a bow and arrow were much different from being up close with bladed weapons. Scorpina would use this to her advantage.
Kimberly watched as she saw Scorpina's eyes flash red with power as she redirected it at her. She ran to the side and up the wall as bursts of exploding power followed her. Kimberly pushed herself off the wall and spun length wise into the air. She then brought her foot down on the top of Scorpina's head, dropping the alien female to the hard marble floor.
She landed in front of her downed enemy, but Scorpina's legs shot up from behind her, tying them around Kimberly's neck. In the same motion Scorpina had somersaulted, taking Kimberly's body with her and down into the floor. Kimberly's world had spun around and then felt her helmet take the brunt of the force of the hit. Powerful hands grabbed Kimberly's back and threw her across the hall.
She landed hard against part of the wall and shoved herself to her feet. Scorpina closed fast and tried to plant her foot right into Kimberly's head. Kimberly rolled to her left, shot up to her feet and she and Scorpina re-engaged one another in a powerful struggle. They ran each other into different walls, Kimberly getting in a few punches on Scorpina while more cracks appeared on her visor. Scorpina got Kimberly into a headlock, but Kimberly managed to stab her exposed arm.
Scorpina released her and Kimberly slashed her across the chest. Scorpina slashed Kimberly across her gold shield in return; sending sparks flying. Then she kicked Kimberly through one of the broken windows into one of the abandon labs. Kimberly landed on equipment and sent other important scientific instruments crashing to the floor. Kimberly looked up at saw that Scorpina had jumped onto the ledge of the window and then jumped in, kicking at her. Kimberly blocked the kick and attempted her own at Scorpina's head, but she dodged it and attempted a round house kick.
Both combatants missed each other and Scorpina swung with her sword which was blocked by the Dragon Dagger. She pulled back and swung down and was countered again. They exchanged blows back and forth, left to right and downward and upward. Each time Kimberly was her match. Kimberly broke the deadlock with a back flip and then slashed the dagger vertically, causing a wave of green energy to be fired at Scorpina which struck her.
Knocking her across the room, Scorpina fell hard into a computer bank. She rose slowly and charged her blade and threw it at Kimberly. Kimberly knocked it away with both her weapons. Kimberly ran to her left, transformed the blade into its blaster mode and fired several quick shots at Scorpina, two hitting her in both her shoulders.
Scorpina yelled in rage and charged Kimberly again, knocking back out into the hall. But Kimberly managed to stay on her feet and when Scorpina charged her again, she managed to meet her like a football player running into another. They struggled for a moment but Kimberly managed to get behind Scorpina and threw her back toward the elevator. Scorpina staggered for a moment but caught her balance at the door. Kimberly ran forward jumped and kicked her into the open elevator shaft.
Both of them managed to grab onto the wire. When Scorpina had first attacked, it had been through the entire shaft, causing the elevator car to fall down several flights. Kimberly ordered her helmet to activate its infrared lighting and the entire shaft came into her line of vision. She looked down and saw that Scorpina was desperately trying to climb the rope. Kimberly climbed up a few inches and drew the Dragon Dagger, causing Scorpina to stop in her tracks.
"Going down?" Kimberly said as she cut the wire below her. She watched as Scorpina helplessly fell down into the darkness of the shaft, her scream filling up the terminal accompanied by crash.
Kimberly dangled on the rope for a moment and looked down; hoping Scorpina had not found a way to get back up. She ordered the scopes in her helmet to magnify the infrared and she could see that Scorpina was still on her back, stunned, for the moment. Kimberly breathed hard and climbed the rope up and jumped back onto the floor on which she had been fighting.
She was sweating and she stood for a moment to catch her breath. There was no way that fall had taken Scorpina out and she would have to get down there to make sure she was down and out. Kimberly looked around her and saw the damage that had been left in their wake. Marble and glass were everywhere. She saw the destroyed form of Beta One, totally unresponsive.
Kimberly knew she had to get out of the sanctuary and soon, she had to get back to Earth. She walked over and pulled the pieces of Beta One together and then rushed down the hall to where she had talked with Zordon one last time. There was no way she would leave Scorpina in Zordon's house. It was the last thing she had to take care of before leaving. She bowed her head in thanks and thanked Zordon and Beta One for a final time and got up.
She retrieved her backpack and returned to the shattered elevator. As she past one lab, some glass remained in place and she caught her reflection in it. It was the first time since gaining the powers that she truly had a chance to see herself in her new uniform. She smiled, "Huh," Kimberly said to herself ironically, "skirt and all." Kimberly made sure her pack was secure and finished readying her weapons and looked down the elevator shaft.
'That's got to be one hell of a drop." Kimberly said to herself. She eyed the elevator wire and looked up and then down. Gathering her strength she leapt into the shaft and entered free fall all the way down. Holding the Dragon Dagger she charged and fired a blast down, striking a rising Scorpina. The blast did as it intended and knocked the wicked warrior back down.
Kimberly managed to land gracefully and kicked Scorpina in the face. That seemed to slow her. Kimberly breathed, grabbed the beast and hauled her out of the elevator shaft and dragged her down the hall.
Zordon's Sanctuary truly was endless. They weren't in a bottom floor or basement, but it led out onto another vast level, with windows that looked out on the Great Cold Mountains of Eltar. Kimberly had no time to find an exit, so she dragged Scorpina to one of the windows. She pushed the evil warrior up against the wall under the window sill. Kimberly looked out and saw how vast the outside was and how high up she still was. She leaned down and smacked Scorpina's face. "Hey," Kimberly said as she gave her another smack. Scorpina looked back disoriented and dazed. Kimberly took off her green helmet.
"I'm going to make this short: you lost, Scorpina. Take a good long look at that. You failed, so now it's time for you to go back to your new bitch empress and tell her how you failed. Tell her we're coming for her. The Power Rangers are coming and will defeat her."
Kimberly put back on her helmet and used the Dragon Dagger to break the glass. She next grabbed Scorpina by her collar and shoulder guard and with added strength, picked her up and threw her out the window. She held on to the sill and watched as Scorpina fell fast and disappeared through the vast cold air and clouds, down into the deep dark of the mountains. Kimberly removed her helmet and breathed in the cold air.
A few minutes later, after de-morphing, Kimberly found her way back to the production facility where the Zords had been built. She looked around the facility, trying to imagine what it must have been like when it was fully activated and filled with all kinds of Androids just like Beta One. She imagined Zordon over looking everything, giving orders, and looking at blue prints. She was amazed and how much she wanted to hear his voice one last time.
In the vast facility, after looking and looking, she finally found a release door and walked out into the cold. The snow had picked up and was billowing all around. Luckily, she did not have to walk through it.
Kimberly retrieved her communicator, "Alpha, it's Kimberly, I did it. I'm the Green Ranger now."
Alpha's high worried voice replied immediately, "Kimberly! Thank goodness! You are just in time."
"What's happening?" Kimberly asked with concern.
"More and more monsters! We need you!"
"Transport me right to Earth, Alpha."
"Affirmative, prepare for transport." Alpha quickly replied.
Kimberly looked around her one more time and then grabbed her Power Morpher. "DRAGONZORD!" And with a flash of green light she was gone.
Kimberly held the Dragon Dagger tightly, when she had appeared, she literally hit the ground running. Alpha Five filled her in through the communicator in her helmet and all that she had missed. Angel Grove was a war zone and Zomdar had gotten help. The original Megazord was down for repairs and the Ninja and Turbo Megazords were doing their best to try and hold the monsters within city limits.
She ran and ran across the roof tops, past rubble and other things and saw what the creatures of Kirai had done. Alpha informed her that as soon as she morphed the first time, the Dragonzord had come to life. Kimberly was very glad to hear that as she reached the remains of a flag pole and saw the Turbo Megazord fall down hard.
"Send down Dragonzord now, Alpha." Kimberly ordered. Her helmet next provided her with schematics and how to play the right command for Dragonzord on the flute part of the Dragon Dagger.
"Jason and the others are returning to the battlefield, Megazord is ready for battle." Alpha informed. Kimberly smiled.
"I'm waiting for them." Kimberly held the flute up to her mouth and began to play the familiar tune. The three monsters descending on the Turbo Megazord suddenly were blown back by a haze of missiles, while another was hit by a massive tail. The Dragonzord walked forward slowly and released its cry. Megazord soon appeared.
Kimberly Hart ran, ran faster than she had before, jumping the rest of the way to reach the Dragonzord. The great beast machine lowered its head as Kimberly approached and jumped onto its head.
"Kim, this is Jason, prepare for Mega Dragonzord mode."
"Ready!" Kimberly replied as she entered the cockpit of the Dragonzord. They jumped into the air and the transformation of the Zord commenced and Megazord linked up with it. A giant smile crossed Kimberly's face as her seat suddenly backed up and transferred to the main Megazord cockpit. The door opened and her control seat locked into place right behind Jason's. Calls of welcome and greeting surrounded her
"Welcome aboard." Jason called.
"So glad you're here." Trini said.
"It's great to be back." Kimberly replied as the Mega Dragonzord was met by Tommy's White Tiger Zord and they marched into battle together.
