"I think it's also best like that.", Raleigh followed.

"Well she's perfect and very useful at this time, why ruin it?"

"It's a secret for us. It's an order." "

Yes sir."

The three scientists were waiting at the bay while the sun was shining brightly.

"Ah here they are.", said Elsa happily.

A helicopter landed on the bay, Elsa approached it with an umbrella on her hand covering the sun. The door slides and a crew walk out.

"Did you found it?",asked Elsa.

"Yes mam, by your orders."

"Good. Load it down. Be careful."

2 other men came out and both were carrying an extremely big box that is then laid on a trolley.

"Nobody disturbs my room?", Elsa shouted to the crew amongst the loud sound.

"No mam, as per your order." "

Good. Send my regards."

"The Shatterdome was shut down but your stuff remains.",asked Newton in their elevator. "

Yes, because the lock is controlled remotely by me. Well, unless they bulldoze the wall down."

"Such a brilliant mind and we've only met now.", replied Newton in amazement.

"Stop it, Newton.", said Hermann.

Elsa quickly opens the newly delivered box. Inside was a medium sized machine that was neatly made.

"So how does it work?" "It's going to be a long talk. Take a seat."

Raleigh looked up onto his Jaeger. Years of fighting, and she still remains.

"Raleigh."

Mako tapped Raleigh's shoulder, and then joins him.

"It's so full and lively here now.",said Mako. "

Yeah, all these Jaegers, the repairs and the thermonuclears."

"Can't believe we're doing Operation Pitfall again."

Raleigh and Mako stood in silence with all the busy sound around them. Blinking lights, flames, sparks.

"With the Solo Fighter program finalized, would they still need us?", asked Mako.

Raleigh looked at Mako in disbelief.

"Well me. They still need you." "What do you mean?"

Raleigh chuckled and patted Mako's head.

"When Elsa arrived here, the Kaiju attack started and all things just changed. Talk about perfect timing." "You know I used to make fun of Yancy when he talks about his kind of girl. I said it was too much of a dream. Can't believe she's actually real."

"Elsa?"

"Yeah.", answered Raleigh with a small laugh. "

"What about you ? What is your kind of girl?"

"You really want to know?"

Elsa walked in fast steps towards the research room. It's been several days since she and Hermann tried to figure out how to redevelop her machine.

Just now in her room, she probably got some idea that she need to try right away. She needs to do it now, even if it is in the middle of the night.

From afar, she saw a figure leaving the research room. That's neither Hermann nor Newton. The figure looked back at Elsa and increases his speed.

"Wait! Who are you?", shouted Elsa.

At the moment Elsa passes the research room, a loud bang was heard and Elsa was thrown to the wall by a loud explosion. In the midst of all the fire, her muted ears, the confusion, Elsa tried to follow the shady figure.

Elsa stood up and started to run.

The loud noise woke everyone up.

"What the hell. In the middle of the night.", grunted Tendo.

The alarm was blaring in the main control room. The alarm that was triggered by the explosion.

Raleigh opened his room at the same time as Mako.

"What happened?", asked Raleigh in surprise.

"I think it comes from the research room." "I'll go and check."

The research room was blazing with fire. The explosion was quite big to destroy the whole room. Crews have already started to extinguish the fire.

Raleigh discovered drops of blood on the floor. Someone was there. Raleigh followed the blood trace.

The blood trace leads Raleigh to the control room. Where Herc and Elsa are, and someone tied on the chair.

Half of Elsa's body is covered in dust and wounds while the other side of her face seems to be bumped by something.

"You're a wreck.",said Raleigh.

"I know.", answered Elsa with an angry tone. "

"So, who's this guy?"

"He blasted the research room.", answered Tendo. "

I think he's from Buena Kai."

The man on the chair seems pretty calm even though the people behind him are talking about him in anger. The man even smirked.

"There's no use of you capturing me, I have nothing to say. The Kaijus are coming and you shouldn't be stopping them."

Everyone doesn't seem to be bothered by the man's words. But Elsa grabs the nearest thing big enough to gag the man immediately.

"Why did you do that?"

"Someone must be monitoring his vital signs. From what I'm guessing he probably got a poison pill under his teeth, in case things like this happened. If he dies, something will follow next.", explained Elsa.

"But what?"

The man still smirked with his gagged mouth.

"That's right…."

Elsa grabbed the man's face and pull it near her. The three men are surprised by how agitated Elsa is tonight.

"You must've planted bombs here. The research room is the last room you plant bombs in, but the first one to be initiated. So you can go out safely. Am I right ? Tell me where is the rest ?!"

The man continued smirking, it was like he's going to burst into laughter anytime. Suddenly, the man rocked his chair back and with brute force, hit his head against Elsa, which threw her on the ground immediately. Raleigh as a reflex punches the man.

"You might not want to do that again.", warned Raleigh. "

She's out.", said Tendo a bit surprised. "

She's been leaking blood all night. Take her to the Med Bay.", ordered Herc.

Some staff took Elsa away.

"Now we have to deal with the rest of the bombs right?"

"Well, if as Elsa said, if the man dies, then someone will trigger the bomb for him right ? So if we can block the signal, they will have no access to the bombs. But that means we have to switch it off manually. The problem is we don't know the locations of the bomb. I'm advising that we use waves that only the bomb can detect and reply. With that we can know the location of the bombs. The other problem is how long till our enemy find a new signal to connect with the bombs ?"

"That seems hard, Mako." "Yeah and now, the research room is destroyed. Some of the good stuffs are there."

Everybody seems to sink in to their thoughts. But Mako stood up.

"We need to start working with whatever we have now."

The technical staff was busy with their signal blocking equipment and started to work on a new wave. Mako walks toward Raleigh and signaled him to come and follow her.

"What is it?",asked Raleigh

"If you were the Buena Kai, what would you do ? Where would you plant the bombs?"

"I don't know, if I were to stop us from attacking Kaijus then destroying the Jaegers first would be vital, then the Jaeger development…then…."

Mako waited as Raleigh kept thinking, wanting him to realize something.

"Elsa said the research room has the last bomb planted but first to be initialized so that the man can go out safely. The outer part of the Shatterdome is…."

"Yes!"

The staff of the Medical Bay sat cautiously at their stations. After the explosion, the situation got a bit tense.

"An explosion inside the Shatterdome, things got really bad this time.", said one.

The door slide open, revealing a staff from the bridge with unconscious Elsa in his hands.

"Put her here!", said another staff.

"It's her again. She's black and blue."

"And red. What happened?"

"She got caught in the research room explosion and she lost quite a bit of blood but still interrogates the culprit. But then she got hit in the head and passed out right away."

One of the two medical staff was barking orders to the other staffs and medical equipment were reeled near, while the other was listening carefully.

"What's the situation now?"

"The team was trying to find the other bombs planted in the Shatterdome. Let's just hope for the best."

"I hope everything will be better soon."

Hours feel like years till the sun finally appears high in the sky. No explosion was heard the whole night. Mako sat on the floor with the deactivator on her hand. It was an adrenaline rush. Most of the bombs was planted on the hangar near the Jaegers. She was trying to catch her breath, but it felt good.

Raleigh put his hand on Mako's shoulders. Both covered in sweat and looked very exhausted. But it reminded herself of the old times, when Raleigh works perfectly with her.

"We did it partner."

Raleigh and Mako decided to visit the research room on their way back. There was no more fire, no more commotion. But the place was terribly destroyed.

Hermann and Newton was seen inside.

"Hey guys! You alright?", asked Raleigh.

"How can you expect us to be alright ?!", Hermann shouted back.

"There goes all of our research.",said Newton in a very low tone.

"Don't you have any backup or things?"

"The software, data, designs are all backed up in the cloud, but the equipment, especially Elsa's take a long time to make from scratch."

"We're totally doomed."
