AN: Hi, guys! Time for Chapter 3! A little bit more Clace interaction, but also Clary interacting with Simon who's being introduced a little bit this chapter, so I hope you enjoy!

To Suzalicia: Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

To Meeeeeee: Happy birthday! It's actually two of my really close friend's birthdays today, so I thought it was funny that their birthday is right after yours. (sorry it's a day late just saw your review this morning) Congrats on getting an account, can't wait to see it! You're right, I do really care about the reviews and the people who do it, which is why I try my best to answer most of them, especially questions about the story and things like that. Speaking of questions, I really didn't have any certain song in mind for the end of the chapter, so that's why I just put 'this song' and stuff like that. It might be referenced a few more times, so just imagine it as your favorite song. Enjoy the chapter!

After a few more days of dullness with a some interesting conversations with my hospital roommate sprinkled in, the nurse came I had met on my first day came in to give us some information.

"Well, I've checked out how both of you are doing, and it seems you're both doing pretty well. Jace, you know the drill by now on recovery and stuff, so we'll be sending you home this afternoon. We'd like for you to continue your medicine for about another week or so just to make sure everything is going smoothly, but after that you should stop. However, if you're noticing symptoms again immediately contact your doctor." Jace nodded his head, having apparently heard this speech many times before. I, on the other hand, was completely oblivious so the nurse had to give it to me in a little more detail.

"Clary, you'll be staying here for one more night and then you'll be released tomorrow afternoon because we just want to check out how your remaining kidney is behaving and make sure everything is okay. Here's a sheet with some information. I'll summarize it, but I recommend taking a look at it after I leave. You have a prescription for pain pills, but only take it when it gets really bad, and never more than once a day. When you get home, take it easy. If you live alone I recommend having a friend or family member stay over with you to make sure you're doing well, and help you with some more strenuous tasks that you may not be able to complete right now." That was a lot of information that I knew I probably couldn't remember, so I hoped it was mostly written down on the sheet I'd received. The nurse left, leaving me and my more experienced counterpart once again left alone in our room. I was the first to speak.

"So you're leaving me alone in this dump, huh? The last day is going to be so boring by myself."

"Well, I wrote my phone number down for you. It's on the bedside table thing. If it gets too dull, just text me or something. If you want, I have some more music recommendations for you since it seems you like what I like. Besides, I won't have much to do at home besides 'recover' or whatever. I live with my friend Alec. I always feel bad making him do all the work after surgeries, but it gets pretty hard to do stuff."

"Thanks, I'll text you! I live alone, but I'm sure Simon wouldn't mind staying over for a week or two. He spends most of his time at my apartment anyway." I rationalized.

"Oh, you have a boyfriend?" he remarked, still not showing much emotion. A very slight blush settled on his cheekbones, but I wasn't quite sure how to interpret that

"Nope, Simon's just my best friend. Why do you care anyway?" I questioned.

"Oh, um, I don't, it's just that," he said, trying to get a sentience out. I raised my eyebrow at the slight stuttering and how surprised he seemed. The nurse picked that moment to come back in. Saved by the nurse, I guess.

"Jace, we're ready for you to be discharged now. I'll close this handy dandy separation screen so you can get dressed, and then just me at the front desk where we can make it official." Much sooner than I would've liked, he was out of the hospital and I was once again left alone.

Not knowing what else to do, I grabbed my phone and put in Jace's number. I figured it was too early to text him since he'd only been gone for five minutes, so I started texting Simon.

Clary: Hey, Lewis, do you mind staying at my apartment for a few weeks? Doc says I need someone to watch over me and all of that crap.

Simon: Hey, Fray. Haha, that rhymed. Sure, I don't mind. I'm practically at your apartment all the time anyway.

Clary: That's what I said!

Simon: Said to who?

Clary: Guy who needed transplant. Tell you about him tomorrow when I finally get out of here.

Simon: Rebecca's texting me. Sounds important. See you tomorrow, I'll pick you up.

Clary: Ok, bye

Having pretty much exhausted all of my other options, I put in my headphones and settled down for my last night at that stupid hospital. As I drifted off, my phone buzzed, but I was too lazy to check who it was from or what it said. That was Tomorrow Clary's problem.

AN: Wow, I'm really excited about this story! Unlike last time, I have a pretty good idea of what I want to happen and how it's going to play out, so that's good. Thank you once again to any readers, reviewers, favoriters, or followers. I really appreciate you giving this story a chance, and I'm for what's coming next!
