A/N: Wow guys, it's been awhile, hasn't it? I've been updating this story bit-by-bit since I didn't really like how the writing was. You can go back and reread it or not, it doesn't matter too much. Hope you guys enjoy this one. This chapter will lead to something big happening.
"Is that so?"
Kiku took a breath in, nodding. The two stayed silent for a few moments. The other that Kiku was speaking with had a concerned expression. "I know there's more." Kiku sighed. "I wish I could remember!"
They gaped their mouth to respond to Kiku, but heard something. "I have to go now! I hope we can talk later, bye Kiku!" They gave Kiku a quick glance before scurrying out.
Kiku watched them leave and then glanced down. He was left a small plate of food but didn't touch it.
"Kiku."
It was Alfred. He knew Alfred would come at some point. Kiku kept any eye contact away from Alfred.
"Why? Why would you risk everything like you did?" Alfred questioned. "We could have been found out!"
Kiku didn't respond.
Alfred went on, "When did you do this?" Kiku still didn't respond.
"Kiku, say anything, please!"
Alfred tried to keep himself calm when Kiku still didn't say anything. It took some time for Alfred to notice how Kiku looked. After all the cell they were in was lightly lit. His hair was ruffled and clothes dirty due to the majority of the cell having dirt in it. He was sitting down, his right leg lying out due to his wound. At the entrance of the cell there was a force field of some sort that was only really visible once near it. Kiku's left wrist had a silver band on it with small red lights. He couldn't leave.
"Everyone thinks you're a betrayer. Yet when we were back there you turned yourself in." Alfred didn't mention what else happened. "You obviously have some sort of connection with the government. Just what is it, Kiku?"
Chapter 11: Sorrow
"The price is having no free will of your own!"
Alfred froze. Everything that has happened was so quick. From first arriving at this place to finding a whole area of deceased bodies. Now Kiku had even tried killing him and revealed he was never a clone. He didn't know what to say.
Kiku rubbed his hand for a moment. His ankle ached from it being shot, but he slowly moved to Alfred, alerting him. He narrowed his eyes. Alfred seemed ready to defend himself but Kiku's intentions were different. He quickly locked his lips with Alfred's, startling him. "This has gone too long, has it not?" Since then Kiku hasn't spoken with Alfred. He never hesitated with going back with Alfred and even told Head Leader what had happened. Now Alfred was facing Kiku once again in a cell, trying to talk to him.
"Alfred, you're so demanding." Kiku let out a sigh. "If everyone thinks I'm a betrayer… Do you also think I'm one?" Kiku mumbled everything out, still refraining from looking at Alfred.
There was a pause with Alfred's answer. "You tried to kill me."
Kiku clenched his hands. "I'm sorry Alfred. I'm truly sorry!" His voice wavered as he spoke. Alfred gaped his mouth open before Kiku continued on. "…I didn't know what I was doing."
Alfred inhaled slowly. "You chose for this to happen." Kiku opened his mouth briefly, but then closed it. "Did you ever even care about this place?"
"Of course I cared—I still do, Alfred!"
Suddenly a sound of a whistle being blown was heard. Both Alfred and Kiku knew what that meant. Alfred's glance moved away from Kiku. "I'll talk to you later." Nothing else was said and Alfred left the cell. He ran out of time to talk. For a few minutes, Kiku hoped that Alfred would come back. It was a long shot, though. He looked down to his hands, which were covered in filth. Someone new was surely going to come in soon just to ask him things he's been asked countless times. Kiku rested his head in the corner of the cell, and did something he would rarely let anyone see.
He cried.
"How's yours?" Matthew took a sip of his onion soup and looked to Alfred across the table.
Alfred took nibbles out of a carrot from his stew, "It's fine." Matthew suspired.
"What is this, Al not eating all of his food? Is it because of Kiku?"
"No. Just because I'm not that hungry doesn't mean anything is wrong." Alfred didn't wait for Matthew's response. He stood up and grabbed his bowl to clean it out. Alfred walked away from the table that him and Matthew were sharing. Before he could dump it out, a voice stopped him.
"There's steam still coming out of that, are you going to dump it?"
A face that Alfred hadn't seen before was speaking to him. His eyes were curiously looking at Alfred, as if he were scanning him. "Uh, yeah. I only ate a little, do you want it?"
The young man smiled. "Okay! I was about to get stew!" Alfred noted that he had a nameplate on. It said TRAINEE in bold letters, and under it Feliciano V. What grabbed Alfred's attention was what was on his back. A katana bag that looked just like—
Alfred blinked a few times, snapping him out of his thoughts. He handed the bowl over. "Your name is Feliciano, right? What's that bag for?"
Feliciano nodded. "The bag is empty, I was going to give it to a friend, Ludwig. He does all the fighting stuff and is up in the ranks!" Alfred too was now up in the rankings. He had the privilege to take Kiku's spot despite his skill. He was sure the people below his rank weren't too happy, but that was Head Leader's decision that he assumed he would meet soon. "How about we sit down at a table, and then talk?"
Alfred felt bad for leaving Matt just to end up sitting with someone else. He explained to him how the bag reminded him of Kiku's, which eventually led to the story of what happened earlier between the two which almost everyone already knew. Alfred also explained their relationship beforehand. Feliciano listened and took a sip from his broth. "Kiku sounded very nice, though. I wish I could meet him!"
"I don't even think I knew the real Kiku." Alfred muttered.
Feliciano shook his head. "You never know… Maybe he wants to tell you, but can't for some reason. Maybe he feels a certain way like you wouldn't understand. I-I mean, that's just a few ideas! You never know!"
Alfred nodded slowly. "I should find my brother. I kind of ditched him earlier, heh."
"Alright, maybe we can talk again soon!" Feliciano waved a small bye to Alfred. As soon as he had left, he looked at his empty bowl of stew. "I hope I did good, Kiku."
Instead of Matthew still being at the table where he had left him, there were some other people. He had no idea where he could have gone. Hopefully Matthew wouldn't be too mad. He couldn't look for his brother all day; he had other things to do.

"How exciting this must be, Alfred!" Elizabeta commented with a slight smile. The older woman didn't say anything else. Alfred wondered if he even deserved this. Many people would never see the one who was behind this whole place. Alfred steadied his breath as Elizabeta led him to a back door. I never knew this was here!
"I'll be waiting out here." Elizabeta did a hand motion for Alfred to go inside. Head Leader was just on the other side. He slowly opened the door and the person sitting there caught Alfred by surprise.
"Hello Alfred, why don't you take a seat?"
