This chapter is in Haruhi's POV and is based on the song "The Only Exception" by Paramore at the request of ShadowhunterCici02!
I am so pissed with a certain Hikaru Hitachiin at the moment. So pissed in fact that I very nearly lurch as he comes to a sudden stop in front of me due to my blatant attempt of disregarding his presence. He spins around with a lot more swagger and smugness than is probably necessary.
I continue to sweat drop onto the luxurious white fluffy carpet that swathes the ground like a dream.
"Oh Haruhi, it's raining in here! I think that we need an umbrella," he cheekily remarks in such a cavalier manner that I almost slap him silly.
But I quickly remind myself that he is merely being his mischievous self. And while this often infuriates me, I must admit that I also enjoy his nonchalant behaviour.
So instead of lecturing him relentlessly for the lengthy walk across the manor like corridors along the west wing, complete with wood wall furnishings (only the best of course) and majestic window seats which overlook the acres of luscious grass, down the marble staircases with engravings of Greek mythology scrawled expertly and lovingly upon the elegant steps and finally through the expansive chamber in which the principal resides for much of the day, I merely laugh and joke at Hikaru's outrageous actions.
After all, this is far more satisfying. I don't know to be a downer all of the time. He is so guileless, a trait with which I admire and I always try to be as bluntly honest as physically possible.
Upon hearing the booming voice of the lofty principal, I snap to attention, not desiring any further trouble due to my often bothersome best friend. He got me into this situation…and now everyone thinks that Haruhi 'the boy' is gay… well, I don't understand why they think that is some kind of insult. It just happens that I am not a guy and not gay. It just bothers me as it is false information, a problem which is common in today's world which is one of the reasons why I aspire to be a lawyer. That and because my mom was also a lawyer, she was great at her job. I don't remember much of her unfortunately… I hope that becoming a lawyer will make me feel somehow closer to her.
"Well, well. Who do you we have here?" he asks rhetorically, his voice resonating around the cavernous room and almost bursting my ear drums. As it is, my ears feel like they have listened to a mariachi band for 48 hours straight.
"Umm…Hikaru Hitachiin and Haruhi Fujioka it seems, principal-san," his assistant promptly whispers in a stage whisper.
Principal Uchima proceeds to crack his knuckles in a very daunting manner before breaking out into a beam which envelops half his face.
"I see! Haruhi Fujioka, you truly are an excellent student. Please do your best to help Hitachiin-san along. He can also receive great grades when he tries but otherwise he is a mediocre student."
"Hey! I am right here you know!" Hikaru pipes up before realising whom exactly he is talking to.
Principal Uchima simply ignores his audacious remark.
"So what is this I hear about the pair of you sneaking around campus like love-sick crack heads?"
Wait, did he just use that kind of terminology around students?
Oh my god! He thinks that we are dating!
Please read and review. Sorry for the late update, I had exams all week and now I am finally on summer holidays for three months.
Shadowhunter69, stay tuned, your request is up next!
