claraowl for your amazing reviews as per usual! :)
This chapter is 'based' on the song "Don't Save Me" by Haim.
Hikaru slowly unwinds himself from the foetal position which currently seemingly enshrouds him as he blocks out the bellowing of the engines as they screech and roar in protest. I feel like joining him in his cocoon which shelters him from his immobilising fear momentarily. However this is my very first time experiencing the joys of air travel (NB: I recommend that you read this as you would imagine the personification of sarcasm to greet you "Great day we are having" when the weather states otherwise and the winds are engaging in a fight to the death in which blood-curdling yells may be heard and torrents upon torrents of rain acquaints with the preceding torrent about the evidence that it is in fact not a good day)
But I will not succumb to my own anxieties, not when I must remain strong even if only for Hikaru, the mischievous and slightly lovable boy I appear to have feelings for beyond that of a mere friend. It would be entirely unjust if I were to pile my own mere anxieties over the needs of the cowering Hikaru whom clearly is not fond of planes.
Well this is my very first flying experience and I agree wholeheartedly with Hikaru's sentiments about flying.
I have a sudden desire to place a blanket (cashmere, what else, I swear these boys have nothing but the best even in sleep related garb) over his body and cuddle him until he no longer fears but acknowledges the presence of an individual whom is all too aware of crippling phobias. Me! In case you didn't get the memo….
And I do just as I set out to do. However I fail to notice the startling elephant in the room as I settle down next to Hikaru.
I am reassured by Hikaru's now steady breathing as the lurching of prior panic attack begin to slowly cease. A gentle smile tugs leisurely at the corners of my lips, forcing them upwards in a spontaneously sincere gesture. The deliberate blending of our breaths lulls into a deep slumber until the fear which once consumed our minds now bathes in a golden healing light.
Until of course the harsh glow of a bothersome camera startles us awake, capturing the moment of us wrapped in the other's arms, a relaxed beam to be found on our respective faces still hazy from the placidity of sleep.
"Kyoya!" I growl akin to that of my dad when I have strolled around the house in a comfy tracksuit for the third day in a row, my dad of course preferring that I borrow one of his lavish outfits.
His glasses glint in the harsh airplane light…until the quick rapid fire succession of bumps indicate our safe landing on the beautiful ground once more and the commencing of Hikaru's kissing of the sweet ground.
Meanwhile, I am absolutely astounded as to the sheer magnitude of the Hitachiin holiday home. Seriously if this is a mere holiday home, I would hate to navigate each wing of his family's actual home.
Please read and review. I am so sorry that I haven't been able to update very often. Blame school ;)
I apologise also for this cliché and short chapter!
