Chapter 3: Another Day

1 Month Later (Naruto age 6 years and 4 months)

Another month passed, they settled in the house pretty good, they choose their room. The house was bid, it had around 3 rooms big enough for a couple, kitchen, dining room, storage room, study room, and a small library of the basics that were available in normal libraries. They both picked their own room and settled their stuff, Naruto pretty much had to spend all his saving for the things he and Hinata needed. The one thing that bugged them both was that there were no libraries of jutsu or seals.

Naruto and Hinata were taking a stroll of the house, they checked every room and every other place he knew. "It's odd, why is there no library of jutsu or seals? I thought he might have a large arsenal, considering he was a Kage" Naruto spoke, he hoped that he could learn his father's jutsu and all, but there were no scrolls, heck there wasn't a single book on Fuinjutsu, aside from the basics that are taught in the academy.

"H-He was a seal master, s-so maybe h-he hid it somewhere in the s-seals" Hinata spoke. Out of the two, it was understandable that Hinata was the one with a brain, Naruto was and maybe never will be good with strategies. Sure he could grasp the concept of Fuinjutsu and other Ninjutsu very easily, but he was never good with planning or thinking, he just kind of adopt in a specific situation, he was a creative type.

Naruto face palmed himself, 'Why didn't I think that' he thought. He jumped and hugged Hinata. "Hinata, you are a genius" he said top her. Then he realized her blush, and how he was hugging her and due to embarrassment, he jumped back and started to blush. "Okay Hinata, why don't you use your Byakugan to check it out" he said with joy.

Hinata nodded, "Byakugan" she said and activated her eyes. She looked around and found a seal, hidden behind a picture and was embedded on the wall. She went closer to the picture and removed it. Naruto followed her and took a look on the seal. "So, um, w-what do you think?" she asked, she was not good with Fuinjutsu, she tried to read a book, but it was too complicated for her, so she decided to leave the Fuinjutsu for Naruto.

"I don't know, maybe it is a blood seal, or maybe a chakra seal, assuming that the scrolls are inside it, I'd say it is a pocket dimension, so it can only be opened with a chakra signature, similar to that of the creator. Maybe it is better to leave it like this for a time, I'll check it out later" he declared, "Well, make yourself comfortable, I am going to see the old man for some money, we spend every bit of it on the previous shopping spree" Naruto said to which Hinata only blushed.

Naruto took her out for shopping and that day Hinata went on a shopping spree, buying anything that she liked, either for herself, or for Naruto, or for the house. Naruto didn't say anything, because he wanted to make her happy, but as an end result, he lost every single ryo he had. All the money he save during the years with Jiraiya, or from the weekly allowances, was all spend in a single day.

Hokage Tower

The old aged Kage was spending time, sitting on the table and reading an orange book. Naruto watched in amusement as he read his book, he knew that book, it was the same book that Jiraiya wrote. He watched as the Kage giggled a few times and red tint on his cheeks. He decided to do something funny and spoke "Hey old man, what are you reading? Looks like something interesting. Oh I know that, it seems that you are having some fun time" he spoke in a teasing voice.

The old Kage starred up from the voice and looked around to notice Naruto and yelled "Don't sneak up on me child, and why do you keep coming in here through the windows? It seems that sending you with Jiraiya was a grave mistake. You know that there is a door here that you can use, right"

"Yeah I guess, but then that wouldn't be fun, right" the blond said and burst out in laughter

The Hokage coughed to get his attention and asked "So, what are you here for?"

"Well first I am here to check on you, making sure that you old age doesn't cause you any problem" he said and burst into laughter, which was followed by a vein popping in the old man's head and a twitched eyebrow, then Inu and Tora also started laughing which was followed by a couple of chuckles from Neko and Wolf. Weasel was out on a mission, he concluded and then followed to come to the real topic. He cleared his thought and spoke "Well, I am here for some money, I mean could give me some chores or some job to gain some money" and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.

"What happened to the money I gave you last week? And the money Hiashi gave you as a token of appreciation from the Hyuga Clan? And the money that Jiraiya gave you?" asked the Hokage as he blinked. Naruto never spend this much money, what happened now?

"Well, you see" he spoke as he rubbed his hand on his back of the head in embarrassment and continued "um, Hinata spend it on the last shopping spree" he ended his statement feeling a bit more embarrassed. He felt something odd, whenever he was near Hinata or talking to someone else about her, he felt some odd feelings, one that he was not aware of, was he falling for her?

"Huh, is that so…I am sure Master Jiraiya would love to hear that" spoke Inu who was now out of the shadow and was standing in front of him with an eye smile and his ANBU mask in his hands.

"Hey, don't you dare tell it to that pervert Inu– I mean Kakashi" he yelled, "He would probably think that I made a move on her, jeez, I don't know what is wrong with him?" the blond yelled while the Hokage burst out laughing followed by Kakashi, and the other three only chuckled and tried to hold back their laughter. "Yeah, laugh it Tora, I'll get my pay back someday, and that's for sure, believe it" he yelled again watching Tora who was trying hard to hold his laughter.

"Ok, now I think we had enough fun with our little Naruto. Kakashi, go back to your job, and Naruto, I can't assign you chores or job until you enter the academy" the old man replied getting a groan from the boy and a nod from Kakashi, who quickly wore his mask again and went back to his duty.

"Oh man" Naruto whined, but he immediately got an idea, "Well, how about I do your damn paper work and in the mean time you could take a walk?" Naruto suggested

Hiruzen's eyes light up at the mention of the paper work, he got up and stepped forward and said "Thank You…Thank you…Thank you…All you have to do is to assign them in categories, mission's categories from D to A and funds category, donations category, things like that. Well see you an hour later" he walked towards the door and paused and spoke again "Inu and Tora guard and if required help Naruto" and with that he took his leave and the remaining two ANBU followed him while Inu and Tora stayed there.

"Well time for work" he stated and formed his favorite seal, "Shadow Clone Jutsu" and in a puff of smoke 10 clones appeared and started working on the paper work.

'Just leave it to him to misuse such a high level Ninjutsu, he is truly your son sensei, you would be proud of him' thought Kakashi and Tenzo just kept on smiling as he saw his student doing a great job.

After a while, at the Hokage Office

"Whew, that was tiring" said Naruto as he looked around the room. He cleared the room, completed the paper work, and other necessary things. It took him quite some time but in the end, he managed to complete it just fine.

On the same timing the Hokage came in, he took a look around with shocked eyes and spoke "Wow, I never thought you would do things this good", he hummed in thought for a moment and asked "Maybe it's a perfect job for you. Would you like to work in my office as my assistant, all this that you have done, let's say every week"

"Um, I don't know, what say every weekend?" he asked

"Well it's okay for me, as long as this is managed, I don't see a problem" he spoke, then it clicked, how the hell did he complete this in such a short time? "If you don't mind me asking, HOW THE HELL DID YOU MANAGE TO COMPLETE IT THIS FAST?" asked the irritated Hokage

"Well, that was easy, all I did was…that's a secret" stated the blond with a grin followed by a twitching eyebrow of the Hokage and a hilarious laugh from Inu, Tora, Neko and Wolf.

"Just tell me, I'll pay you double" the Hokage said and watched for his reaction, when he didn't reacted, he spoke again "triple", still no reaction, so he raised the bid, "four times", still no reaction, so he raised the bid again, "five times", he was about to raise the bid again when he was cut by the blonde's voice.

"Jeez, you really want to know. Seriously, I thought out of all people, you would have figured it out", Naruto waited for his reaction but it didn't came, the old man was still thinking what it could be, Naruto sighted and said "Simple, 3 words…Shadow Clone Jutsu" He waited for his reaction, but the Hiruzen only moved towards his table and sat on his chair.

'Damn you Minato, that's how you were able to escape this nightmare. You used shadow clones, how in the hell did I never thought of that, you could have told me this sooner, but no, you and Kushina have to had some fun before helping an old man' thought the old man as his eyebrows twitched and he banged his head on the table.

Now this was something hilarious, hilarious enough that made all the members present in the room burst into laughter. Truly, the Hokage was very kind and humble, and not even once had he yelled his guards for laughing, and the ANBU also knew this that he was very humble, but they couldn't help it whenever Naruto was around. There were very few people who talk like that to the Hokage, Naruto being the top member of the list, followed by Jiraiya, then his personal guards except Weasel, then Wolf, then Anko, then his own son Asuma, and some others.

"You know you really didn't need to give me five times the normal payment, but since I am short on money, it would be in my favor, I guess" said Naruto as he recovered from his laughter.

"And you are like my own grandson, you didn't have to ask for a job, I would have given you the money out of my own pocked, heck even Jiraiya left some money for you" replied the Hokage as he rose his head from the table to look at the blond.

"Like wise, if you would have just asked for help in the damn paper work, I would have done it for free. Now, the money that Jiraiya left" replied Naruto with a warm smile and a raised arm for the money that Jiraiya left for him, and the money that he just earned. The old man sighted and gave him the money.

"Just don't spend it too soon. And also, I know that you can create shadow clones, but please don't overdo it. It is a Kinjutsu for a reason, if the user does not have enough chakra, he may die due to chakra exhaustion. Although you have good reserves and also your recovery rate is good enough, still don't overdo it" requested the Hokage. He didn't want his grandson to be dead because a Kinjutsu that should never have been taught to him, at least not this early.

"What do you mean? What about my recover rate being good?" asked the blond with curiosity, he never knew the reason behind his quick recovery from exhaustion and wounds and other things, heck he didn't even got sick since he was born.

"Well as you know, as soon as you create shadow clones, you suffer chakra exhaustion, but since the seal is designed for you to use its chakra, your reserves are filled at a faster rate, almost it is filled immediately, so you don't notice the case of chakra exhaustion, however the seal only allows a small portion of its chakra as of right now, and if you perform that technique frequently without taking a break, then I guess, you may…die" said the Hokage with a serious tone that send some shivers through Naruto's spine.

"Yeah, as if something like that would happen to me. I won't die until I take that hat from you old man, I refuse to die until I became Hokage" said Naruto as he shrugged it off. The Third Hokage coughed to get his attention, then gave him an 'I am serious' look. "Okay I understand, I won't overdo it." He said as he shrugged it again. The Third Hokage coughed again to get his attention, then gave him another 'I am really serious' look. "Fine I promise, I won't" he said finally being defeated by his grandfather.

"Okay, as long as we are on the same page, you are excused" replied the Hokage with a smile on his face. It was no joke, he really cared for him. There are only few people in the list, and the old man is at the top.

Naruto bowed in respect and decided to leave, but something popped in his creative mind and he turned around and spoke "Hey Inu, you still up for some training"

"Not right now, you see I am on duty, and as such I can't play around with you" Inu replied, but when he saw the saddened face of his little brother, he added "However, I would be free tomorrow, so what do you say, we can postpone our session until then"

"Alright you got it" replied Naruto as his face brightened up from his comment, truly if one wants to make him happy, just promise him some training or treat him to ramen.

"Well Naruto, if you are not free right now, do you think you could help me in something else, on another matter perhaps" added the old man before Naruto could leave. He is indeed lazy, not even bothered to do some work by himself, and then come up with an excuse for it so quickly.

"Well, what is it?" asked Naruto

"I want to replace two instructors in the academy, they have been far too long doing that job and asked to return to field, I was hoping you would provide me with some better suggestions, as seeing that you assigned this paper work and the files as well, which includes conditions of team that were out of duty and other non-important things." Replied the Hokage

"Well yes, I stumbled upon them, let me check" replied Naruto as he walked towards a bundle of files, "Here they are" he replied as he collected bunch of files and brought them to the Hokage. He sat on the seat in front of the table and went through the files of each chunin, genin and jonin. It was a complete list of jonin's who didn't have a genin team, then chunin's who were out of duty in case one member was dead or one member was promoted to jonin, then genin's who were out of duty for the same reasons.

He then stumbled upon an interesting file of Iruka Umino and Mizuki, "I think they are perfect for the job, Iruka Umino, rank chunin and Mizuki, rank chunin, both of them were on the same team, and they are currently out of duty because one of their team mate died on their last mission" he replied

"Oh is that so, and why do you think that they are perfect for this job? Not that I am judging your judgement, I am just curious for the reasons behind it" asked the old Hokage

Naruto sighted and spoke, "Well for two reasons actually, first that they are out of duty and they both are teammates, so they would work together well, and second Iruka here –" he said as he passed the file towards the Hokage for him to see, "is quite good with the basics of most probable every field to be covered in the academy and it would be a good skill for an academic teacher, and Mizuki here –" he said as he passed the second file to the Hokage, "is quite good with shuriken and kunai, and Taijutsu. So there it is, my suggestions" he said and folded his arms and waited for his reply

"Uh… well that's a very good suggestion, I will put them on this year's batch. Ah, I would also like to ask you, would you like to enroll in the academy, in the next batch?" Asked the Hokage

"Nah, not now, I would join the academy later. Well, see you later old man, and take care" replied the blond as he leapt out of the window.

"Take care of yourself too Naruto" said the old man to no one in particular, he knew that Naruto was not in the room anymore, but he said it. He looked towards Inu and spoke "Well Kakashi, what is your training session that I am hearing?"

"Nothing Lord Hokage, just a friendly spar, and tips from a ninja to a ninja in practice" replied Inu aka Kakashi Hatake

"Good, but don't teach him something reckless like Jiraiya" replied the Hokage

Somewhere away from Konoha, a white haired man who was peeking sneezed, "jeez, some women might be thinking about me. Now that I think about it, maybe Naruto is thinking about me, maybe he finally made a move on Hinata and is currently now thanking me for my teachings. I have to go back early than I planned, I can't miss something like that for my research, I am sure my fans would love to read something like that in my next volume" he murmured.

"Yes Lord Hokage, I would never teach him something like that, just some tips like teamwork and you know" replied Kakashi, in ANBU disguise

Somewhere away from Konoha, Jiraiya sneezed again, "Yes, I am sure of it, it must be Naruto. Oh I can't miss a chance like this, I have to go back fast" he murmured.

"Very well" replied the Hokage and went to pick some paperwork which was already categorized because of Naruto, 'Hm, what should I pick? Let's see the budget first, then security, then mission status, then chores, the all the other things' he thought and made a cross seal, "Shadow Clone Jutsu" he yelled and in a puff of smoke 5 clones appeared, "Thank you Naruto, you are a life saver" he murmured, although everyone in the room heard that.

He looked towards a clone and said, "You, go and prepare some tea for me and the remaining of you, start signing the papers, and if you stumble upon something, dispel yourself. Now time for some fun" he said as he picked the book from his table and sat on the chair and started reading it while giggling.

'He is a greater pervert than Kakashi' thought three ANBU out of the four as they noticed Kakashi, aka Inu also reading the same book and letting out giggles in the middle.

Naruto's House

Naruto and Hinata were having a nice chat, in which Naruto told her about today's events, to which Hinata too burst into laughing. After the Hyuga incident, and Hinata being disowned, Naruto tried everything to make her laugh, but out of all that, this was the thing that made Hinata laugh, truly laugh. On all his previous tries, whenever Hinata laughs, he somehow managed to sense pain in her, his sensing ability was truly the best. But this time there was no pain in her, she was happy, truly happy, and so Naruto was happy as well.

"Okay Hinata, tomorrow Kakashi will be training us, and giving us some tips" he said and Hinata nodded, "And you have completed the stone exercise" he asked and Hinata nodded again, "Perfect, tomorrow we will learn another exercise on chakra control, and in the early morning we will have a spar, just to check how good you are. Okay" he asked and Hinata nodded again, "So see you tomorrow, good night" he said as he went towards his room.

"Good night" she said too, without stuttering, and went towards her own room.
