Chapter 6 from episode 4

*That night*

After it got dark, everyone grab their stuff and made their way outside to meet so we could head to Crawford. Clem and me came out to see Lilly coming out of the garage with Kendell and Molly standing next to each other.

"Hey everyone I found some pretty useful tools in the garage: an hatchet, hacksaw, and some other tools that might help with the break in." Lilly announce as she puts the tools in a book bag.

"Nice work Lilly." I said giving her a playful wink.

"Will you two get a room?" Kendell, the new member to our group asks sarcastically as he counts the arrows for his crossbow.

"Don't get mad because you get more attention from your crossbow then from ladies." Molly jokes earning a smirk from Kendell.

"Oh so the lone chick with her trusted axe got jokes." Kendell responds as Molly rolls her eyes at him.

Lilly walks over to me while they were talking asking me could she have a moment with me. "Lee are you sure we can trust those two? I mean they seem to eager to help in a way especially Kendell?"

She does have a point, I mean they could be taking us to a trap or once they get what they need they might try to attack us again. Then again we have to keep in mind that not everyone we meet is dangerous and its good to get any allies that we can get in this crazy new world. "Its hard to say right now Lilly but I think we can trust them for now plus we out number them so they definitely won't try anything funny."

"Alright but I will be really if they try anything funny." Lilly warns me as I give her an approval nod when Carley and Doug came towards us.

"We thought about it and Doug wants to stay at the house." Carley tells us. Lilly, at the same time, and me had shock looks on our faces.

"Really? How come?" Lilly questions Doug.

"Well we all shouldn't go out and leave this safe house unattended and I don't think we need that many people on a stealth mission. I will be fine, trust me." Doug explains to us which I can understand that. The last thing we need is someone waiting for us when we got back that is not as friendly as Kendell and Molly.

"Though I don't like you being by your self, if you are confident in your plan then I'm okay with it." I said reassuring Doug on his decision.

"We will be back." Carley softly tells Doug.

"I know." He said as the two share a nice kiss to where Lilly and me smile at the display.

"Here you should keep the walkie talkie just in case our mystery friend decides he has something to say." I suggest to Doug giving him the walkie-talkie.

"I will let you know as soon as possible if I hear from him." Doug said with a smile.

"Well what are we waiting for lets get moving." Molly said putting on her hood and mask along.

I kneel down to ask Clementine was she ready. After telling me yes I remind her of the rules that she needs to follow for we don't know what will happen.

"Not to tell you what to do and Clem does seem capable of handling her self, but do you really want to take her along? If your friend Doug is staying I'm sure he can protect her while we are gone." Kendell mentions over hearing our conversation.

"I appreciate your concern but I did tell her we need to stick together and my decision is final." I said in a strong tone.

"Say no more." Kendell backs up feeling somewhat intimated from my tone.

"Trust me from what I seen so far, Clementine will fine." Carley speaks up proudly getting her pistol ready. At this point, Lilly gives me the hatchet she found earlier and we all make our way to Crawford with Doug going inside the house to keep watch from there.

*At Crawford*

Using the secret pathway from the sewers system that was found from Kendell's map, we successfully enter Crawford from underground.

"If I remember correctly, there is a old school building within Crawford so judging by the map we should be right underneath it." Molly points out as we all look at a ladder leading outside the sewers.

I gather everyone attention to make sure everyone knew what to do. "Okay people, this is it. Remember the plan. We stay quiet, we stay hidden, and we stay together. We find what we need and we get the hell put before anyone even knows we're there. Got it?" Everyone nod quietly understanding the plan. I turn towards Clementine and said, "That part about staying close? That goes double for you." She too nods her agreeing. I then climb up the ladder first so I can make sure the close is clear. Seeing that no one was close by I let the group know its clear to come and we walk slowly towards an alley.

"Um shouldn't this place have guards patrolling? I mean I know its late but for a huge place like this there's no way they would just let no one be on look out." Kendell ask which was a pretty good question.

"Looks like you got your answer cause there is one over there." Carley said pointing at one guard just standing around.

"Me and Lilly will sneak over there and take him out, therefore the rest of you will wait until we give you the signal to follow us got it?" I order as Lilly got her riffle ready and I took the hatchet out.

"I'm right behind you." She said in that cold tone of hers. We slowly snuck over to the guard and stealth like as possible until we was right behind him. As soon as I went knock the guard out, the guard turns around showing to reveal his self as a walker. "What the hell!?" was all I could say as the walker try to attack me but I quickly kill it before it had a chance. Lilly had a surprise look on her face when she also so that it was a walker and signal everyone to come out and head to the school before more could come after us.

*Inside the school*

"*hit do you think they saw?" Lilly panic as Kendell and Molly made sure the doors were close behind us.

"I don't think so. I think we're good, for now at least." I reassure everyone especially Clem who seem frighten.

"For a place that suppose to be well guarded, it must not be doing a great job if walkers are here." Carley said while we were catching our breaths.

"What always happen, I guess. In the end, the dead always win." Molly claims with a shrug.

"Not really I mean we still alive are we? If you think about it this actually works to our advantage since before Crawford had people with guns but now we are dealing with slow walkers so that makes us a lot faster and smarter then them." Kendell tells us winking at Clem, which I can tell really calming Clementine down.

"That is true, so the plan doesn't change if we just stick to the plan." Lilly smile but Carly didn't fully agree.

"Are you serious? The plan does change when walkers are involved we can't just let our guard down for you saw there's a lot of them out there." Carley said with concern.

"I wasn't trying to imply that Carly or would you rather us face them alive with guns?" Lilly question her where I can tell this was about to lead into another fight between the two and that's the last thing we need right now.

"Before you two get into a catfight, I think I found a room we can use for a safe base." Kendell intervene showing us a room that he found. He leads us to a regular classroom, which seems safe for now. There was a door that seems to be a secret exit but it was lock shut.

"Figures." I mutter to my self. Everyone look around the room to find anything useful or information about the place.

"This room seems to be used as command center. Not a bad idea really." Lilly mentions looking at how the chalkboard was used.

"Okay, so now what? Where do we start looking?" Molly ask as Kendell place a map of the school, that he found in the room, on the table so we could gather around and look at it.

"Well we need to find gas fuel and a battery, yet it wouldn't hurt to find medicine supplies as well while we here." I said to the group reminding them what we need.

"Judging by this map it seem like there's an auto shop here so that's where we can most likely find a battery. Then here's a maintenance shed across the playground which would be the go to place for gas." Kendell points out the directions on the map.

"If you want to get medicine here's the nurse's station, they were using it as a medical facility." Molly claim out of nowhere

"How would you know about that?" Carley ask for we all was curious on how Molly would know that.

"Just make sense, doesn't it?" She suggests but I wasn't buying that answer.

"Well if that's the case me and Kendell can go get the battery, Lilly you can get the gas, Molly since you know about the medical facility you get the medicine and Carly how about you stay here with Clem and try to find away to breakthrough that door for I have a feeling we might need to use that exit as an escape." I plan, I ask Kendell to come with me for one I don't know how heavy the battery is and if we deal with walkers on the way it would be nice to have backup plus I can try to get to know him more and see if he's really an ally.

"Me teaming with the leader? Sounds like a fun plan. Don't worry I got your back." Kendell said proudly with a smile.

"You better not let anything happen to him or so help me." Lilly threaten Kendell. She really doesn't play when it comes to Clem and me.

"Whoa trust me I won't let nothing happen to your boyfriend for I rather not take a arrow to the knee or in your case a bullet." Kendell joke making everyone roll his or her eyes at him but getting a small laugh from Clem.

"I won't let anything happen to Clementine." Carley tells me.

I give her a nod before turning to Clem and telling her, "You help and stay near Carley alright sweet pea?"

"Yes Lee." She softly answers.

"Got it." Molly said getting her weapon out.

"Good, we all got our assignments. When we are done lets all meet back here. Everyone be careful and good luck." I order them. We all begin to leave but Lilly didn't leave until she gave me a nice short kiss good luck and left leaving.

"Don't I get a kiss good luck?" Kendell asks Molly before she left the room.

"You can get Hilda right in your head as good luck if you like?" She asks back waving her ice tool weapon at him with a smirk on her face.

"Never mind." Kendell answers quickly with me shaking my head at him in amusement.

"If I didn't know better I would say you have a crush on her." I ask folding my arms at him

"Um negative I'm just messing around with her." Kendell quickly claims and tries to hide his face from revealing his self-blushing.

"Sure you are." I smirk at him as he shook his head.

"So anyways how long you and Lilly been together and how that started?" He asks me which I saw this as an opportunity for us to get to know each other better.

I went on to tell Kendell how Lilly and me met which led to me talking about Kenny and his family, Larry, and Ben. as we travel to get the battery. I told him how at one point I had to make a decision between helping Kenny or helping Lilly with Larry which I chose to help Larry because it wouldn't be right to just assume that he was like dead just like I couldn't assume Duck was bitten when he hadn't seen a bite. Of course Kenny decides to kill him and thus causing Lilly to hate him and me not trusting him as much as I originally did. I then told Kendell that after that night me and Lilly grew close especially seeing her get close with Clem which us two in her life were like the only people keeping her together until one day we kiss and from there we became official.

"Sounds like you been through a lot with the group and this Kenny guy, I would be mad at him at the moment if he did that to someone I love but I can understand wanting to save his family."

"I know but at the same time if it was his wife in that situation he would hesitate and that's why I question his call on that."

"What end up happening with him?"

"Well after we got into an incident with a bunch if bandits, Kenny really didn't like where the group was heading. Him and me got into a huge argument to where we both decide maybe it was best that we separate the group. It was hard to decide that plan, but at the end me and Kenny made up and he respected the fact that me and Lilly were together even though I don't think they fully got over each other."

"Man that's crazy. It sucks because from the way I'm hearing you two seem like brothers. Who knows maybe you will run into him again."

"I'm not sure considering I have no idea where he end up going and if they are still any boats he probably would be on it with his family. Since I told you about me why don't you share more about you. Was you in a group before you met us?"

Kendell smiles before answering. "That's fair, since you told me about your group and all. Well like I told you before I got separated from my family but I didn't tell you what happen after that. I got with this one group for a while. They brought me in like family, taught me how to defend my self, and even gave me this nice crossbow, which I still haven't, gave her a name yet. Anyways I like this group at first because we were about family, which fill the void of losing mines, but over time our leader change things and got me to close to darkness meaning I became ruthless when I shouldn't be which is not who I am especially not before this world change. So one day I escape and never look back and I was on my own for a while until I met you and Lilly. Meeting you two reminded me on how there still are good people here in this crazy world and yea I know not everyone trust me but believe when I say I am a good guy who wants to be in a group like yours not my old one because we can't survive alone out here."

I was surprise hearing Kendell's backstory. Now it seems clearer what his motive was, just to be around good people and survive with them, kind of like me. I also can understand at times we have to be ruthless but we shouldn't become fully evil just to survive so I respect him for leaving before he fully change for the worse.

"Do you ever miss being with the group." I ask him curiously.

He shakes his head and said, "Lets just say there's no point of missing them because they don't take kindly to people leaving the way I did."

"That doesn't sound good." I ask hoping to my self we don't run into that group.

"Yea man..." He stops and looks at me and slowly asks, "Since were being honest your last name is Everett isn't?" He asks in a serious tone, which made me freeze up from what he could know about me.

"Maybe why?" I ask somewhat nervously.

"Because if you are then..." He points his crossbow at me ready to shoot. I try to hurry up and think of how I can get my self out of this situation but it was to late for he fires a arrow, but instead of it hitting me he hits a walker that was standing in front of the auto shop where a battery should be located.

He walks over to get the arrow back. "Then you are Lee Everett, who I heard on the news about before all this happen who murder a state senator."

"I should have known." I thought to my self as I slowly pull my gun out pointing at him. "So because you know that information, what happens now?" The response I receive from him, however through me off as he shakes his head at me.

"Lee put the gun down. If I were going to kill you over that I wouldn't have brought the subject up. I don't know why it pop in my head, but I saying this now because we need to be able to trust each other. Now I'm sure there's more to the story considering I heard your ex-wife was part of the story, but the man I heard about on the TV is not exactly the man I standing right in from because the man I see in front of me is a great leader who care for his little girl and his girlfriend, one who is not rash about his decision, and one who when he first met me could had easily kill me if he wanted to. So you kill one person, isn't that what we all are doing now and beside he probably had it coming if he was involve with your wife, and don't worry you don't have to tell me the details." Kendell explains to me, which actually left me speechless as I slowly put my gun back in my pocket.

"So far since I met you, you truly have been full of surprises. I will admit I still had doubts about you but for now I will trust you since you was honest with me." I said to him extending my hand out as he shook it.

"It makes sense that you would still have doubts about me but the nest way to have trust is to be honest with each other. Now come one lets go find this battery." He said with a smile as I walk with him inside the auto shop.

*Some time later*

Luckily Kendell and me were able to find a battery that could fit the R.V even though we had to deal with some walkers on our back to the classroom. We figure things would be calm at this point.

"I COULD USE SOME HELP OVER HERE!" yell the voice of Lilly who ran into us with two can of gas.

"Lilly what's going on?!" I question when Molly came casually walking towards with a smile.

"Hey guys I found plenty of med..." She was interrupted by Lilly before she could continue.

"We don't have time for that LOOK!"

We all turn to see an army of walkers heading towards the direction that Lilly was coming from.

"Holy *hit everyone back to the classroom!" I command grabbing a can of gas and running back to the classroom where Carly and Clem were waiting for us.

"Whoa what on earth!?" Carley ask not knowing what happen.

"No time Carly did you get that door open?" Lilly demands closing the door behind us.

"Almost but its lock shut." Carley answers.

"Lee..." Clem said in scare tone.

"Kendell help me get this door open, Lilly lock that door!" I order moving Clem to safety along with Carley getting her gun ready.

Kendell and me kept trying to open the door until somehow, after one strong kick from both of us, we were able to get the door open.

"Oh hell yes that's what I call team work!" He yell getting offer a high five.

"Damn right!" I slap him high fine just cause I was in the moment. That moment ended as soon as the door behind us slam open and the walkers begin to come in.

"Now can we go?" Molly ask heading towards the exit.

"Oh yea, come on everyone." I command the group as we all ran out the classroom. I then try to lock the door behind us but the lock is broke.

"Great how are we suppose to out run them with this stuff?" Molly questions as I look to the side to see a shotgun lying around.

"All of y'all head up the stairs I will try to keep them off of us." I told them.

"Are you crazy!?" Kendell question me.

"Just go I got this!" I answer confidently getting ready to defend my group. I walk slowly backwards up the stairs as the walkers begin to come in. One by one I shot each walker that was getting close to right in the head while the group hurry and made there way up the building. When I ran out of ammo, I quickly caught up with the rest of the group to have Clem hug me.

"Good you made it everyone lets go." Lilly said as they started climbing down the ladder. It was down to Kendell and me for he let Clem climb down before him as we heard the bell starting to go off. Kendell turn with a shock look on his face aiming his crossbow at me again.

"Not this again." I said to my self thinking this is the moment he would kill me but instead he shoots the arrow missing me and hitting a walker who was tie up to the bell and almost grab me.

"Seriously could l getting a warning before you point that crossbow at me." I ask with a smirk.

"Hey I'm a pretty damn shooter and you don't have to worry about getting a arrow between your eye." He answers me with a laugh as we climb down and head back to the sewers to get out of Crawford.

*Back at the safe house*

"About time y'all got back, I was starting to feel lonely." Doug joke as we made it back to the house. He was greeted with hugs and kisses from Carley, which was a nice sight to see the too reunited.

"I miss you so much." Carley tells Doug wrapping her arms around his neck.

"I miss you too babe." Doug said wrapping his arm around her waist.

"Well now that we got what we need I said we take a nice long rest. No sense of trying to fix of the R.V while we all tired." Kendell suggest which wasn't a bad idea right now.

"You know what I actually agree and plus we all earn it." Lilly said in proud tone.

"Say Doug did we hearing anything from that guy?" I ask being curious.

"Nope not a single word."

"I guess that's reassuring for now." I wasn't too sure if we would not hear from that person again.

"Lee do you think once Lilly fixes the R.V we can use to go look for my parents?" Clem ask me and everyone look at me wanting to know what I would say.

"Ummm..." I honestly felt speechless and couldn't give a straight answer.

"Clem why don't you head upstairs I need to talk to Lee about something important." Lilly tells Clem which I knew what this conversation would be about.

"Okay." She sadly said heading to our room.

"Well I'm going to sleep now because this seems like a conversation I might not need to be apart of." Molly said going to her room.

"Come on babe lets go to our room." Carley suggest as Doug nods to leave me, Lilly and Kendell to our selves.

"There's no sense of beating around the bush anymore Lee you need to tell her." Lilly said in a serious tone.

"Tell her what?" Kendell ask. I forgot he doesn't know about Clem's parents.

"*sigh* When I found Clementine I heard a voicemail at the house from her parents saying they were in Savannah when it happen. I don't think they made it." I explain which made his mouth drop in shock.

"Oh damn, Lee I been in Savannah for a while and from what I can saw I don't think her parents are here and if they are then the worst might had happen."

"I know but I said we look for them."

"We kind of already did if we think about it and the disappointment is going to become worse the longer we keep this from heard." Lilly points out for at that moment I realize that I had dragged this on to long.

"Okay fine, I will tell her." I decide as Lilly gave me a comfort hug.

"Its better this way." She whispers. Kendell gives me an approval nod as he went to his room to rest while I head upstairs to talk to Clem.

"Hey sweet pea." I said coming inside the room.

"Where will we go once Lilly fixes the r.v?"

"We going to probably drive somewhere that will be a lot safer then Savannah."

"Well before we leave do you think we will have time to look for my parents?"

I took a deep breath before answering her question. "Clem honey, I have to be honest with you. The day we met I happen to hear a voicemail from the house phone and it was your mom speaking... and from what it sound like I honestly don't think they survive when the attack happen and as much I would want to keep looking for them its not safe to and we really should leave when we can." I knew right then that Clem was not receiving this well as she immediately starting crying. When I try to reach out to comfort her she turns away from me to lay down and cry some more. I decide to sit across from her for I knowing hearing what I said hurt her, I didn't want to leave alone.

*Some hours later*

"I must have had fell asleep after talking to Clementine" I told my self as I begin to wake up. After my vision became clearer I notice Clementine was not in the room.

"Clementine?" I ask softly hoping she would appear but she wasn't. I got up and went outside to see if I could fine any trace of her. While searching for her, I notice her hat was lying on the ground by some trash. I hurry and walk over to it but just my luck a walker came from where the trash was at as I kick him to the ground and curb stomp his head before it had a chance to attack. At that moment I heard a buzz sound coming from the hat, so I go to pick it to see that its the walkie talkie underneath to which what I fear the most end up happening. I run back into the house to get everyone attention.

"HEY EVERYONE COME DOWN HERE NOW!" I demand trying to stay calm but it wasn't working.

"Yo what's going on!? Kendell ask rushing in the room along side Molly, Carley, and Doug.

"Lee is everything alright? Where's Clem?" Lilly came downstairs quickly.

"She's gone. I think she got a hold of that stranger and he took her because when I went out to go look for her the walkie talkie was outside." I tell the group as they all look at me with shock looks on their faces.

Authors note: I'm so sorry for the long wait, with school and work it's really hard to take the time to really write my stories out. Also because I'm trying to get one of other stories done since it's almost done. So as we see here everyone made it safe from Crawford and in this story Molly sticks around as the group of Lee, Lilly, Carly, Doug, Molly, and Kendell set out to fine Clementine. Keep in mind since Lee never was bit, and never met Vernon, that the this is the part where the story is going to change some and that's all I will say about that. Also I drop an Easter egg in Kendell's backstory hehe.
