Chapter 18 new new
"What do you mean she didn't make it?!" Teddy asked practically screaming.
"I don't know! They said her blood pressure rose too high and the umbilical chord was wrapped around her neck." Spencer exclaimed.
Teddy was too stunned to cry, too stunned to think about the world, too stunned to even hold her new baby boy that she just gave birth too.
The baby appeared to be struggling to swallow something. The doctor smacked her on the back, and a large piece of amniotic sac gurgled out of the baby's mouth.
"Teddy! Spencer!" The doctor yelled breathlessly. "We have her back, but we don't know how long we can keep her. If you would like to see her real quick, we can wheel her over to you and then she will be sent down to the Intensive Care Unit." The doctor exclaimed.
"Okay, bring her over." They brought their little princess over to them and looked at her big brown eyes and her golden blonde hair. "She's beautiful." Teddy murmured.
"Stay strong baby girl." Spencer whispered. They took their daughter away to the ICU and brought over their new baby boy.
"Oh, Spencer he is adorable." Teddy whispered brushing her sons brown hair with her index finger.
"At least their not identical." Spencer chuckled.
Spencer handed their son to the nurse while they wheeled Teddy up to her room. Teddy fell asleep on the ride up because of the long painful experience of giving birth. Spencer, on the other hand, was crying to himself. He lost his dad that day and he doesn't know how long his Daughter may have left.
They got back to Teddy's room and Spencer sighed as he sat down in the chair. He brought his hands to his head and let out a long held sob. "I'm sorry, Mr. Walsh?" A nurse interrupted him with the tapping of his shoulder.
"Huh?" Spencer asked after being ripped from his thoughts.
"I'm sorry." The nurse apologized. "Would you like to hold your son while your wife rests?"
"Um, sure." The nurse carefully handed Spencer their baby boy. He lay asleep in Spencer's arms.
"I'll bring over the birth certificate so you can write down their names. Also, your daughter is in the ICU. I know you are really worried about her but things are really looking up for the cutie. So anyway, I'll let you get to daddy and son bonding time and I'll be back if you need me!" The nurse said leaving.
"Thank you." Spencer replied. He held his son in his arms.
"Hey little buddy. I'm your daddy and we are going to have the best times together. You, me, mommy, and your other siblings. And I know that you could care less about your twin right now but she is doing better. I love you son." Spencer said kissing his son on the head.
Teddy was laying awake in her bed now just listening to Spencer talk to their son. Even with the hardships of the day Teddy could only smile. "Hey babe." Teddy decided to perk up. Spencer heard her and walked over to her with the baby.
"Hey honey." Spencer said brushing her golden locks. "How you felling?"
"Better since my nap. How are the babies?"
"Well our son over here is doing great. The nurse told me about our little girl." Spencer started.
"What about her!?" Teddy asked anxiously.
"I'm getting there Teddy. The nurse said things are really looking up for her and she is looking good."
"That's amazing Spencer!"
"Yah so anyway, the nurse wants us to name our children." Spencer said scratching his head. "Any names in mind?"
"Well, I really like the names the kids came up with. I like Zaiden or Zayden." Teddy replied.
"Me too, his nick name could be Zai."
"So are we settled on Zaiden for the first name?"
"Yah I like that. How about Zaiden Michael? Or Zaidan Brent?"
"Oh I really like Zaiden Brent!" Teddy smiled "it's settled, Zaiden Brent!"
"Ahh, you forgot something babe." Spencer taunted.
"I'm sorry, Zaiden Brent Walsh." Teddy stuck her tongue out at Spencer.
"Hey don't do that! It's important." Spencer smiled.
"So now our daughter." Teddy said biting her lip. She looked out the window as Spencer looked at her. He could only admire how beautiful she looked. "Stop looking at me Spence! It's creepy."
"Sorry I'm just admiring at how beautiful you look."
"Gosh Spence, I'm not even wearing make-up. I'm ugly." Teddy yelled.
"No your not, your-."
"Save it. I'm all flabby and ugly cause I had two kids and one is dying! How does that make me feel!?"
"Teddy, whether you believe it or not I feel the same. I lost my dad and my little princess is dying, how does that make me feel?" Spencer argued back.
"I'm sorry Spencer, this is just too much and I didn't realize I was hurting you. I'm sorry honey." She apologized.
"It's okay babe, least just name our daughter." Spencer said brushing her hair.
"I like Genevieve Emily." Teddy smiled.
"Oh, I like Isabella Rosalie." Spencer replied.
"Well," Teddy said picking up her phone beside her bed. "Genevieve means, Tribal Woman. And Isabella means, pledged to God. I really like Isabella now Spencer."
"Me too but do you like Emily or Rosalie?" Spencer asked.
"Well Emily means, Rival, and Rosalie means, Rose."
"Well those are different then our other two but I like Rosalie." Spencer stated.
"Me too Spencer." The two of them were about to kiss until they saw there daughter being rolled in.
"Spencer! Teddy! I'm happy to inform you that your daughter is very well and she can come up here. She gave us quite a scare because she had some amniotic sac stuck in her throat. She wasn't breathing so I smacked her on the back and she spit it up. She is doing good now and the only problem I see is maybe some breathing problems in the future but she is a healthy little baby right now!" The doctor smiled.
"That's amazing." Spencer firmly shook his hand. "Thanks for everything."
"It was my pleasure."
"Thank you so much but may I see her now?" Teddy asked.
"Oh right here." The doctor handed her over.
"Hi Isabella Rosalie, I'm your mommy and this is your brother Zaidan Brent. I love you babies." Teddy said with love.
"I love you too." Spencer smiled.
