Starstrucked

Changes and Surprises

"Welcome back," the familiar face greeted him with a huge grin till it showed his razor sharp teeth. Kenny knew this place very well; he would always come here, it was like his second home. The flames were still big as ever, screaming echoes all around and demons lurking at the shadows every inch of the place.

"Looks like I'm gonna get busy with you around now," the voice said again as it turned and walked slowly on to the endless narrow, dusty road. Kenny followed behind carefully just in case some demons get the idea of pouncing on him from behind.

"I'm not gonna be that long," Kenny said plainly as he looked around to recall some little details since his last visit.

"Hmm. Say..." the voice slurred as he turned his head to face Kenny, it wasn't grinning as wide as before and looked at Kenny with his big red eyeballs.

"What?" Kenny frowned not liking the attention he was giving him.

"Have you seen Damien recently?" He asked slowly and faced one of the gargoyles that seemed to appear out thin air since it wasn't there in the first place and happened to hold a tray of drinks for him and of course, Kenny himself.

"Damien? No, why?" Kenny asked harshly but curious at the same time. He faced Kenny for a moment, examining him for a moment, the gently took the cup from the tray and handed it out to Kenny. Not feeling the mood, Kenny declined politely.

"No, it's nothing–,"

"Spit it out already!" Kenny lunged impatiently not caring about cutting his talk.

"Sheesh...impatient now are we?" He chuckled and looked at Kenny in the eye.

"If you're not telling, then I'm going back." Kenny said giving him the bored face.

"Hmm, seems fair," He said and grinned again.

Kenny vision became blurry, his eyes were betraying him...the last thing he saw was a grin so wide it would rip someone's mouth if they grin in that fashion.

Fck. Kenny woke up and grabbed his phone just to see the time. 9.43am. Kenny adjusted a little and sat at the side of the bed, feet touching the cold cement floor. He frowned a little.

"Wonder what his problem, blacking me out like that!? And what's Damien problem?" He mumbled to himself, angry, confused and most of all; Curious. He pulled himself up and walked to the bathroom to clean himself up.

It was the usual, not a living soul around the motel grounds. Kenny doesn't even want to know where everyone went. He made a quick walk to the good old vending machine for some early morning drink. Inserted the coin in and pressed number 12 and grabbed the chilled coffee can out of the slot. Then he sat at an old bench next to it and enjoyed slurping his morning 'breakfast'.

"Wonder if I could rent a car or something," Kenny thought as he remembered that he wanted to see his parent...and probably some ol' South Park folks too.

Just as he got himself thinking, Mr Victor exited his door, looked at Kenny then smiled and waved at him, Kenny waved back while continued to slurp his drink.

"Usually folks don't wake up till it's noon, or should I say get out of their rooms. Heck, even Felicia doesn't do room services after 1pm; says she got this show she has to catch up to. Sometimes I wonder why I even hire her, not that she's doing a good job cleanin' anyways." Mr Victor said as he walked over to the vending machine and grabbed the chilly coffee exactly like Kenny's. Kenny shifted himself to make space for Mr Victor, who then sunk the bench as he sat on it.

"Pretty bad luck huh? Famous people like you stuck in a rundown place and not some fancy hotels and penhouses. Heh, as if South Park has them. And don't expect it to change either, cause South Park same ol' same," Mr Victor said as he slurped his coffee.

"I don't mind, South Park's always like this anyways," Kenny said huskily.

"You a south parker?" Mr Victor asked eyeing Kenny disbelieving.

Kenny looked back at him and nodded slightly. Earning a sigh from Mr Victor and a pat on the shoulder.

"Then welcome home bud'," He said smiling genuinely. Kenny smiled a little as Mr Victor started to talk about how the motel used to be in those days and stuffs. Kenny was just glad to lend an ear for a change in the ghost town atmosphere.

"Hey you're a real good listener, glad to have ya listenin' to my stories. Ain't got someone like you in the longest time of my life; tell you what, you got something up, just come knockin' on my door ai'right?" Mr Victors said smiling real wide as he rubbed Kenny's back.

"Actually there is something," Kenny said boldly flashing a little smile, Mr Victor looked up.

"I wanna ask if I could borrow a car or something. Don't have to be that classy, just needing it to drive round' town that's all," Kenny continued.

Mr Victor placed his thumb under his chin and started scratching in... probably thinking if there's any car available. Then he got up and motioned to Kenny to follow him. Kenny obeyed.

They walked to the motel yard and into the old shack. There's a huge bulky thing covered with a canvas right in the middle of the shack. Mr Victor pulled the canvas revealing an old Honda car, still shiny and probably haven't use in a while.

"I last drove her bout' few months back, just to get her all shine up and stuffs fer' Christmas. Still good, engines' changed. You can take her." Mr Victor said with a smile.

"You sure? No hard feelings?" Kenny asked still uncertain.

"Yea, I'm good. Don't worry bout' me, I got another car parked behind my suite. Plus, no one's gunna use her anyways," Mr Victor said and took the key from some old wooden cabinet then threw it to Kenny.

"I promise to return it back the way it is," Kenny said while Mr Victor stood by the doorframe letting Kenny have his moment with the 'borrowed' car.

(LINE BREAKER)

Mr Victor wasn't kidding; South Park has not even changed, except some shops names and some old carts that sold this and that. Kenny made a quick turn at the junction and drove it down the lane to the old house he was raised in.

The house looked surprising great, the past cracks and holes are all cemented well, and the lawn looked nice, not to mention the house and garage was repainted to look even more homely. Kenny gave a satisfaction puff then parked the car by the roadside.

"This is awkward..." Kenny said as he straightened his grey hoodie and pulled his rugged jeans and dusted his expensive vans, checked his hair and made a last minute styling.

"I feel like I'm gonna puke," He said as he finally dragged his feet outside the car. He locked the door behind him and tucked the key in his pockets then awkwardly walked towards the front door and rang the doorbell.

"Honey, someone's at the door. Could you get it?" that voice gave Kenny shivers as he recalled that voice really, really well. His dad...and he sounded less drunked.

The door swung opened, and Kenny stared wide eyed at the red-haired lady which he knew was his mother whom he hasn't met in the longest time.

"K-k-kenny?" his mother said disbelieving, and then her eyes got teary.

"Hi mom," Kenny said with a smile.

(LINE BREAKER)

"So your guys what now?" Kenny asked again, trying to recap the whole story in that moment.

Apparently his mom now owned a cafe which sells ice cream floats, grilled cheese sandwiches and stuffs, and his dad runs a family garage with Kevin. So they all got busy to earn a little something for the family. Karen got herself into some accountant college, surprisingly and would come by to help at the mom's cafe during her weekends and school breaks.

"You can drop by the store if you want. But we're closed today, so as every Wednesdays. Oh and public holidays too." His mom said sounding all cheery and stuffs.

He hasn't seen his parent looking very happy and cheerful for almost his whole life. At least they're most decent looking and dressed like any normal parent are now. Heck, even the house looked proper and decent unlike those trashed days of Kenny's childhood.

"You know, we sometimes see you on TV. We're both really proud of you, just we are to Kevin and Karen," his dad said. Kenny was shocked in the inside. It was the longest sentence his dad had ever said to him in a decent way...unlike the drunkard one he knew very well.

Kenny adjusted himself in the "new" sofa trying to be comfortable in his new home while listening to his parent talking about how they stopped drinking and how they always wanted to see him and stuffs. Kenny again was all ears to their talks.

"You should stay for dinner!" His mom said excited. His dad nodded immediately saying he should just stay in for the night.

"Kevin should be right home by any minute. I send him over to buy some groceries just right before you came. "Kenny smiled as he felt somewhat happy to see his mom and dad all excited in his welcome.

"Mom, the groceries," Kevin shouted as he arrived. His mom quickly got up and raced towards the front door. As Kevin walked in the sitting room, Kenny looked up and smiled at him.

"Dafuq! KENNY!?" Kevin immediately hugged Kenny not caring about Kenny being crushed by his body weight. Their father just laughed to see his happy boys.

"Listen dad, I gotta run back to the motel. Just needs to tell them that I'm gonna stay over at my parent's place; grab all my stuffs then I'm all yours." Kenny said after a big dinner that his mom made for the night.

"Alright honey, just remember to call before you come. Cause we'll be at the store tomorrow. Ask for directions if you don't know where it is." His mom said as she gathers the dishes from the table.

"Right, bye guys." Kenny said getting up then when and hugged all 3 of them before he exited accompanied by his family.

"BYE!" they bided him as he waved at them.

(LINE BREAKER)

As Kenny drove, he saw a sign which looked brand new named Tweek Bros. Coffeehouse and it looked bigger than it was back in those days. Kenny decided to pay a visit then quickly turned to the roadside and parked his car.

He walked inside the shop, and the atmosphere was way different. It got more classy, kinda like a Starbucks feel to it. Not to mention, well decorated too.

"Someone's business is looking good," Kenny said as he looked around the store.

Kenny was looking at the shelf displaying varieties of coffee beans from all around the world. Occasionally took some just to have a closer look.

"M-may I help you sir?" A voice said from behind, Kenny turned over and his eyes got wide.

"OMG! Don't tell me!" The certain messy blonde haired guy dressed with a collared shirt, an apron displaying the cafe logo, some plain black pants and a grey converse shoes; said mouth wide opened. Before Kenny could say anything, the messy blonde haired guy ran away and in the door that said OFFICE. Kenny emptied his throat and finally sat at the empty cube at the corner of the store...just in case some people get freaked out to see him again.

He sat there for a while, then a shadow hovered over, Kenny turned to see a black hair guy, well-dressed navy blue shirt tucked in his black pants and a shiny leather shoes.

"IT IS YOU," he said shocked as he looked at Kenny up and down, still in his monotone voice...of course. He invited himself in the cube and sat on the opposite side.

"Long time no see Craig," Kenny said smiling awkwardly as Craig stared at him still disbelieving and finally coughed a little, just to ease down the atmosphere.

"So, finally come over to say hi after so many years?" Craig asked hinting a little sarcasm. Kenny gave a light chuckle.

"Hey, don't worry about me. What's up with you wearing that manager tag right there?" Kenny asked as he eyed the tag clipped on Craig's shirt.

"Oh this, nah it's just some fancy role of this place. I helped Tweek run this place after his dad gave the business to him. Brought this place to life, replaced this and that...you know the usual stuffs. But Tweek didn't want to be the manager since he felt like he didn't have enough strategy skills in doing business, so he told me to do it. He begged me, you know, I could resist those puppy eyes, so I had to take it. Oh and Tweek doesn't scare of customers now, he lessen his coffee intakes. He drinks hot cocoas and teas now. So don't get all weird on him if he doesn't twitch," Craig said smiling a little especially when saying Tweek's name. But it was harder to digest the story for Kenny since the whole story was told in a very, very flat tone.

Kenny so as everyone in their high school time knew that Craig and Tweek always had eyes for each other since the 1st year of high school...or maybe longer than that. They both finally got together in the mid 2nd year. Their love story was expected anyways, since Craig would always defend Tweek when he was being bullied for being a weirdo and shits that any teenagers those days could insult him with. Craig didn't mind them saying him or calling him names but if it's Tweek, then it's an issue for him. Occasionally Craig would get himself into fights just because they insulted Tweek or bullied him in front of him. And Kenny admired that part of Craig. He was loyal to Tweek through thick and thin.

"Hey, you remembered Butters right?" Craig suddenly said. Kenny looked at him and nodded.

"You should say hi to him. He misses you a lot," Craig said with a serious face, then looked around at the store, probably checking the customers or staffs in case their slacking.

"How would you know that?" Kenny asked, with his heart beating fast when he heard that name.

"Oh, he and Tweek Tweek are friends you know, he comes around almost everyday just to say hi," Craig said then flashed a smug smile when he saw how red Kenny is.

"Anyways, I gotta go over. I saw some staffs slacking off cause' the boss can't see us kinda guys." Craig said as he got up then eyed Kenny.

"You know, I'm serious about you meeting Butters. Give him a nice surprise for a change. He's pretty lonely without you, you know. Oh and he's not dating anyone at all. So it's cool. Come by tomorrow, round' 12. He's here by then." Craig said then left, leaving Kenny really embarrassed and flustered.

(LINE BREAKER)

"And where have you been the whole day?" Ruben said sitting up from his bed as Kenny closed the room door behind him.

"Cut me some slacks Ruben, every man needs his freedom," Kenny snapped as he walked towards the bathroom to get some shower.

"Oh yea! Tonight me, Bob and Sturly are havin' pizzas for dinner, you wanna join?" Ruben shouted and he continued to lie on his stomach on the bed.

"Already ate!" Kenny shouted back in case the shower was to loud for Ruben to get the reply.

"What!? And you didn't bring any of us!? Real hurt man!" Ruben shouted back.

"You guys were still asleep when I left!" Kenny shouted while soaping himself.

"Ohh yea, then no pizzas for you then! We're eating your share!" Ruben said louder than before. Kenny left no reply cause he was busy shampooing his hair.

"Damn I'm tired," Kenny said as he put on his sweater, hair's still damp and covering his eyes, earning a really sexy Kenny at sight.

Kenny sat on his bed and switched on the tv just so there's something that made sound in the quiet room. Then he grabbed his phone and unlocked it to check so emails and stuffs.

ONE MESSAGE

Kenny pressed the read button.

"Hey Kenny, Tweek said you're at South Park! Wow, I really surprised! Do you think we could meet, I just wanna talk that's all. I really, really miss you. Please reply soon. –Butters"

Kenny heart just skips a beat when he read the message. The message arrived while he was bathing. He's face was all red.

"Doesn't Butters realised his move was...too bold!" Kenny screamed mentally. He locked his phone. He was too embarrassed to reply.

"Damn that Butters," He said all red from ears to ears.
