Pokemon: Ash and Ursula's Journey

When Ash overhears his friends plans to betray him, he runs away with all of his pokemon. After a meeting with the Legendaries and meeting up with Ursula in Kanto, they decide to travel together and start becoming closer to each other. Five years later, they arrive to the Grand League of Champion Legends to win their biggest challenge. Takes place after B W TV series.

8. Chapter 8

Chapter 8: The Kanto Journeys Part 1

Ever since Ash and Ursula met each other again in Viridian City and both became great friends, they have been traveling together throughout Kanto. Along the way, they told each other about their lives and where they came from.

Ursula had originally come from Sandgem Town in the Sinnoh region. Her parents were an accomplished couple and were well recognised by society.

Her mother, Lola, is a retired Top Co-ordinator who now owns a Pokemon Nursery School where she teaches trainers how to take care of new-born pokemon when they get any. Ursula's father, William, was the seventh Frontier Brain of the Battle Palace of the Sinnoh Battle Frontier. She had wanted to become a co-ordinator just like her mother when she was a kid and was inspired by watching a contest that the Hearthome Gym Leader, Fantina, participated in.

xxxxx Flashback Start

A young six-year-old Ursula was silently watching on TV a contest that was currently taking place in Hearthome City. The appeal rounds were just beginning and it was Fantina who was going first.

"Haunter, steal the show!", said Fantina as she tossed a capsuled pokeball into the air above her. The pokeball snapped open and a stream of smoke escaped. The smoke then began to spin into a miniature hurricane and a Haunter came straight out of it, giving a cackle.

Hau Hau Haunter.", cackled Haunter with a grin.

"Haunter, use Psychic to hold a Shadow Ball in front of you. And then fire straight one large Will-O-Wisp into it.", said Fantina.

Haunter first formed a Shadow Ball in his floating hands and then his eyes glowed a blue aura as it used Psychic to hold it in place at the centre of the stage. Next, small blue fireballs appeared out of nowhere and joined together to form a single larger blue fireball. He then released the Will-o-Wisp into the still floating Shadow Ball. When the two attacks collided, they exploded into a shower of purple and blue raindrops of darkness and fire.

The crowd was truly amazed at this combo as they clapped and cheered for the gym leader.

"Now to finish it off, Haunter, use Psychic to gather up all the drops into one place in the air and then concentrate Scary face into it.", said Fantina.

Haunter's eyes glowed blue and the same aura surrounded all the pieces of Shadow Ball and Will-O-Wisp as they all came together to for a violet screen in the air. But then, a frightening face appeared in the screen and gave out an evil laugh.

"Haw Haw Haw Haw Haw!",, it cackled, and then the whole thing disappeared in the blink of an eye. Some of the audience went a little pale from this.

Ursula was truly amazed at this. She noticed great beauty from that performance, but was a little bit jumped by the finale. Nonetheless, it was one to remember.

Then her mother came into the living room. She had light skin just like Ursula had, her hair was a maroon colour and her eyes were an emerald colour. She was wearing her normal uniform that she wears to the nursery school everyday and she was just hanging her apron on the coatrack. "So, dear? How did the contest go?", said Lola.

"Mommy, it was very good. It was a little bit startling in the end, but I still liked it.", said Ursula cheerfully as she hugged her mother tightly. Her mother gave a small laugh and hugged her back.

"Mommy, I want to be a Top Co-ordinator like you when I grow up. I want to be the best in the world.", said Ursula.

"Is that so, honey? Well, all you have to do is work hard, use your imagination, respect your pokemon and you'll be great. I'm sure you be great, no matter what.", replied Lola.

Ash told Ursula about his own life, besides him coming from Pallet Town. His mother was actually the manager of a popular restaurant called The Pallet Plate, but she was originally a trainer back in her younger years who had won the Kanto League. Her pokemon were still at Professor Oak's ranch where she visits them often.

He had little information on his father. His dad had left on a journey of his own four years after Ash was born and he hasn't been back ever since. He didn't know much about his dad, but he received birthday gifts overseas from him over the years, so that meant that he was still out in the world somewhere. But otherwise, Ash didn't know him that well.

Ash told Ursula that when he was a younger boy, he had always wanted to become a Pokemon Master because of his love towards battling and pokemon. He had first got his motivation from watching a battle between the Kanto Champion, Lance, and Kanto Elite Four Member, Bruno.

It was the time of the Kanto League again and an exhibition was about to commence. It was the Champion of Kanto, Lance, against Kanto Elite Four Member and Rock-Type specialist, Bruno.

Ash, as an eight-year-old, was watching TV at home, eager for the battle begin. He had seen many battles with the Champion, but this was probably one of the best battles to happen yet.

"The Kanto League Exhibition Match is about to begin!", called out the referee, "Each trainer can only use one pokemon for this battle. The battle will end when one of either side is unable to continue. Trainers, select your pokemon!"

"Dragonite, battle time!", called out Lance as he released his faithful orange dragon pokemon. Being the normally gentle creature it is, Dragonite gave out a small roar.

"Onix, time to fight!", cried out Bruno as he released his Rock Snake pokemon.

"Grooooaaaaar!", roared out Onyx.

"Battle begin!", called out the referee.

"Dragonite, lets start off with a Dragon Rush.", said Lance. A blue aura surrounded Dragonite in the shape of a dragon with wings and charged towards Onix from the sky.

"Onix, use Dig to evade it and then use your best Dragon Breath at point blank range!", commanded Bruno.

As Onix dug in to the battlefield, Dragonite suddenly stopped in his tracks. He quickly scanned the area for a clue to where Onix might resurface.

Onix suddenly burst out of the ground behind Dragonite and launched a burst of clear Dragon Breath from his mouth.

"Dragonite, counter that with a Flamethrower quickly!", shouted out Lance. A storm of flames escaped out of Dragonite's mouth and blasted right through the Dragon Breath and hitting Onix. It didn't do much damage but it did hurt him a little.

"Now, Dragonite, infuse a Focus Blast with your best Water Gun.", said Lance.

Dragonite created a sphere in his hands that was Focus blast and released it with a Water Gun fro his mouth. The two attacks merged together and his Onix right on his face. The rock pokemon then fell in defeat with swirls in his eyes.

"Onix is unable to battle. Victory goes to Lance and Dragonite!", shouted out the referee.

"Well done, Dragonite. Looks like you have once again proven yourself to be the most powerful of your kind. Congratulations.", said Lance to his dragon as he gave him a good pat on the head. Dragonite suddenly surprised Lance by hugging him.

Ash had seen the whole thing. It looked like Lance and his Dragonite were best friends. They also made defeating an Elite Four Member look so easy for even a trainer.

"Someday, I hope I can be friends with pokemon when I become a trainer. Then we'll maybe one day become the greatest team in the world and defeat Lance.", said Ash to himself as he turned off the TV.

"That's great spirit, Ash. Just like your father.", said a voice from behind the boy. He turned around to see Delia.

"Do you really think so, Mom?", asked Ash.

"Of course, Ash.", replied Delia.

On their way to Pewter City, Ash had already captured an Abra, a Growlithe and a Ponyta. As well as catching those, he also encouraged Blaziken, Glaceon and Psyduck to be captured by Ash's own pokeballs and they agreed. Ursula had caught a Seel, Bellsprout, Poliwag, Shellder and a Sandshrew. She also caught a wild Squirtle that knew both Ice Beam and Surf. This was probably her strongest catch in Kanto.

When they finally reached Pewter City, they had found out that Brock's younger brother, Forrest, had become the new Gym Leader. His top pokemon were Shuckle, Rhydon and Brock's old Sudowoodo. Sudowoodo was definitely happy to see Ash again since he didn't know what happened between him and his friends. Ursula decided to immediately challenge the gym and it turned into a two-on-two battle. Forrest decided to use his Shuckle and Rhydon while Ursula decided to try out her new Shellder and Poliwag.

The first battle turned out to be Shellder against Shuckle. Shuckle was high levelled, but along the trip, Ash had decided to show Ursula how to use the Counter Shield technigue in battle. Shellder won the battle using an Ice Beam Counter Shield to defeat Shuckle, but wasn't strong enough to knock out Rhydon and was defeated. During the second battle between Rhydon and Poliwag, Poliwag had evolved into Poliwhirl after being hit with multiple Horn Drills and also learned Hydro Pump. Since Poliwhirl had a double advantage, he easily defeated Rhydon. Forrest gave Ursula the badge that she earned and Ash was proud of her.

But then, Forrest asked why they weren't traveling with Brock. Seeing that Forrest was Brock's younger brother, Ash explained about the betrayal and why he is not friends with not only Brock, but the others.

"Brock actually called you weak, Ash? Well, I never. I'll have to tell the rest of my family about this as soon as I can.", said Forrest.

"Forrest, I'm not too sure about that. Do you think that is a good idea?", asked Ash in concern.

"Of course I should tell them. My younger brothers and sisters are tattletales and tell on each other all the time. It wouldn't make a difference if I told on Brock for what he did.", said Forrest. Ash nodded to this.

When the Pokemon Contest took place the next day, Ash had decided to skip out on this contest to let Ursula have a shot at winning the Pewter Ribbon. He also decided to show her how she can have her pokemon perform the Spin Technique, Counter Shield, Swallow Technique and Ice Aqua Jet the night before. They also trained to make their moves stronger as well as practicing the combo moves. Ursula had even shown Ash how to pull off some moves that she had up her sleeve. They looked relatively easy.

The next day, they were surprised to see that the traitors had caught up with them and that both May and Dawn were performing again. Ash and Ursula ignored them so they wouldn't have to keep on hearing their complaining and babbling.

Ursula had chosen Seel to be her main pokemon for the contest and had gotten through the Appeal Rounds easily thanks to all the hard training of last night along with Kenny, May, Dawn, Drew, Nando, Zoey and Harley. By the time the finals had arrived, it was Dawn against Ursula. Dawn had decided to use a Bellossom that she must have caught at some unknown point.

Xxxxx Flashback start

"Folks, this is the last battle for the Pewter City Contest and only one of the two remaining contenders can take home the Pewter Ribbon. Will it be Dawn or Ursula?", said Susan, "Let the battle bagin!"

"Bellossom, Spotlight!",said Dawn as she threw her pokeball into the air. A burst of pink flower petals escaped and a Bellossom materialised from within those petals and landed onto the floor.

"Seel, the stage is yours.", shouted out Ursula as she tossed her own pokeball. A blizzard of snow escaped from out of the pokeball, revealing Seel from within as it landed on the floor.

"Okay, Bellossom, use Magical Leaf!", said Dawn to her pokemon. A sudden barrage of green glowing leaves began to pelt towards Seel.

"Seel, use Icy Wind to counter. Then execute Ice Aqua Jet straight away, just like we practiced!", said Ursula. Dawn's eyes were wide in shock when she heard that move. The crowd were a little confused when they heard this unknown move.

A small wind with some snow began to blow in the opposite direction of Magical Leaf, cancelling each other out. Then water surrounded Seel as he began to fly in it towards Bellossom, but he straight away used Ice Beam to freeze himself and the Aqua Jet became a huge chunk of ice with Seel in it. He plummeted towards Bellossom at a high speed and hit his opponent with the super effective move. This caused Bellossom to fall to the ground, but soon got back up.

"Ursula, how on earth did you know how to use Ice Aqua Jet? Either you saw one of Ash's Sinnoh gym battles or-",said an rather enraged Dawn, but was soon interrupted by her opponent.

"-Ash himself personally taught my pokemon how to use it without a problem. He's not too bad with combo moves, I must admit. He's my new traveling partner and friend, Dee Dee.", said a snickering Ursula.

"Don't call me Dee-", said Dawn in anger, but was soon cut off because a bright light seemed to be coming from Seel. It was enveloped in a coat of a bright blue aura and began to change.

"What's this folks? It looks like Seel is evolving after performing a great combo move that was super effective against a grass type.", announced Susan.

When the light died down, there was no longer a Seel, but a Dewgong in his place.

"Dewgong!", said Dewgong happily.

"Congratulations, Dewgong! You're incredible. And it looks like you learned some new moves too.",said Ursula as she scanned Dewgong with her pokedex.

"Ha! It won't matter, even if Seel evolved, Ursula. Bellossom use Solar Beam!". commanded Dawn. As Bellossom began to charge up its most powerful grass-type attack, Ursula suddenly saw her chance.

"Dewgong, use Blizzard before she has a chance!", said Ursula. A sudden snow storm swept through the field and went straight for Bellossom, freezing it in place and swirls in its eyes were visible in the ice.

"Bellossom is unable to battle. That means the winners are Dewgong and Ursula.", said Susan proudly as she and the judges went to the center of the stage to congratulate her and give her ribbon. Dawn simply recalled her fallen pokemon without saying a word. Ash gave out a loud cheer from the stands for his friend.

"So, Ursula, this is your first contest that you won in Kanto, right?", asked Mr. Contesta.

"That's right, sir.", replied Ursula.

"Well then, I hereby present you with your prize, the Pewter Ribbon.", said Mr. Contesta as he handed her the ribbon.

They crowd gave a loud cheer for Ursula, but the traitors simple rose from the stands and left with Dawn.

From Pewter City onwards, Ash and Ursula had travelled throughout Kanto, visiting all the towns and cities that were interesting to visit or had contests or gyms.

From Pewter City, Ash and Ursula travelled throughout Kanto, visiting all the majorly known cities or towns that had gyms or contests. Ash was a great guide for Ursula since this is his home region and he had already travelled through it twice.

The next gym that was on the road ahead of them was the Cerulean City Gym. When they got to Cerulean City, Ash didn't think that it was a good idea to go there since Misty is the gym leader, but Ursula said that he didn't have to go with her if he didn't want to. Ash made his decision that he would go. But when they got there, they were both surprised that Misty wasn't there and instead were her three sisters, Daisy, Violet and Lily. They were otherwise known as The Three Sensational Sisters and were really good models on the fashion industry.

The sisters remembered Ash since he wanted to battle them for a Cascade Badge, but they were giving it to him just because they didn't want to battle. They were happy to see him, since he helped save the gym from Team Rocket. Ash asked them what they were doing back in Cerulean City and where Misty was. They said that they had just come back from their latest world fashion tour and were exhausted. They decided to take care of the gym for a while until Misty returns. Misty had called them the day before telling them she was going to Hoenn to catch some more water-type pokemon there to get a bigger collection.

And since they were the gym leaders again for a short time, they had decided to improve themselves in their battling. They also made a rule that since there were three of them, any challengers can choose to battle one of the three to earn a Cascade badge.

Ash had told her on the way to Cerulean City that the city's gym specialises in water-types and Ursula decided to use her Plusle, Minun and Jigglypuff if they did three-on-three battles. But since it was now one-on-one, she decided to use her Plusle in a battle against Lily. Lily's main pokemon was Poliwhirl.

During the battle, it turns out that Plusle had learned Electroball and Thunderbolt. Even though Poliwhirl was high-levelled, Plusle still won the battle, earning Ursula the Cascade Badge.

When Ash and Ursula were about to leave, the three sisters stopped to talk to them about something. Ash had asked them earlier about where Misty was and they wanted to know why. As told them that he was just surprised that she wasn't here, but they didn't buy it. So Ash decided to tell them what had happened. The betrayal, the new journey with Ursula and everything else that had to do with it. By the time he was finished explaining, the three sisters were not wearing faces of surprise, but faces of anger.

"Why that little girl! She should be, like, ashamed of herself for doing this to you. I mean, you are not a bad trainer.", said Violet.

"I agree. She doesn't deserve to be a Water Pokemon Master. She's just a wannabe.", said Daisy.

"Misty's an idiot calling you a weak trainer. When she gets here, we'll be sure to give her a scolding she'll never forget. After all, she isn't like us. We're, like, famous and she's still a rookie water trainer to us. And we're sure that you'll be better that she'll ever be.", said Lily to Ash and Ursula. They nodded.

Ash, Ursula and their Pokemon continued to travel through Kanto at an increasingly high pace. They had found out that the Kanto League was going to be held again in four months time, so they decided to pick up their pace. The next contest was going to be held in Vermillion City and that was where the next gym was going to be and its gym leader, Lt. Surge.

This was also the place where one of Dawn's former pokemon, Ambipom, was going to meet up with Ash again. Giratina had telepathically told Ash on the way to their destination that he had informed Ambipom of the betrayal and has also agreed to join him on his journeys and to meet him on the western outskirts of the city after the contest is finished. Seeing as how Ambipom used to be Ash's pokemon when she was still an Aipom, it seemed to make sense of her wanting to go with him.

When they got to the gym, Ash was instantly greeted by Lt. Surge.

Xxxxx Flashback start

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Ash, the boy with the Pikachu.", said Lt. Surge in a sarcastic tone. He was wearing a pair of trousers that had camouflage patterns on them, a plain white tank top and some dog tags were hanging from his neck on a necklace. His Raichu was standing right beside him and smirked when he saw Pikachu.

"Good to see you too, Lt. Surge. It has been a while since we last seen each other. How's everything here at the gym?",replied Ash.

"Not too badly, kid. Just get the regular challengers and the occasional winners here. And I see that even after five years, you still haven't evolved your Pikachu yet. But I must say, who is this girl? Is she your girlfriend or something?", said Surge while giving out a cry of laughter.

Ash and Ursula both suddenly blushed a furious red colour. "No, no, no! Her name is Ursula and she's my traveling companion. She would like to battle you for a Thunder Badge.", replied Ash quickly.

"Is that so, Ursula?", asked Surge to Ursula,"Well then, it will be a one-on-one battle. Which pokemon will you be using?"

Ursula replied. "I'll be using my Gabite for this battle."

As Lt. Surge went to go get a referee for the battle, Ursula decided to ask ask Ash something. "Hey, Ash, how do you know this gym leader?"

"When I was on my Kanto journey, he was the third gym leader that I challenged. I lost when his Raichu battled against my Pikachu. That was also the day that I found out that Pikachu didn't want to evolve and I don't think he'll want to evolve for a very long time. I finally defeated Lt. Surge the next day by using speed to my advantage.", explained Ash.

"That's very impressive, Ash.", said Ursula.

The battle then commenced about five minutes later. Raichu was the pokemon that Lt. Surge was going to use while Ursula used Gabite. It was obvious that Ursula had a complete advantage over Raichu, but he was still not to be underestimated.

Gabite first used Earthquake to start off the battle, but Raichu managed to evade it using Agility. He then collided on Gabite using a Giga Impact, which did some high damage, but wasn't able to move for a while. That gave Gabite a good chance to land a Dragon Pulse on Raichu, dealing damage. However, Raichu still got back up and hit Gabite with Focus Blast. But one powerful Stone Edge was enough to knock out Raichu out of the Battle. Ursula and Gabite won the match and the Thunder Badge.

That night, Ash and Ursula had decided to do some last-minute contest practicing before the contest on the next day. Ash had decided to use Snivy and Ursula was going to try out her new Squirtle.

When the duo arrived at the Pokemon Contest the next day, they were surprised to find only May, Max and Dawn. The others must have gone their separate ways, but they already knew Misty was probably in Hoenn. Max was probably here to compete in the Kanto League while the girls were going to compete in the Kanto Grand Festival. But other then them, Zoey, Kenny and Harley were there as well. Ash already knew May and Harley had contest ribbons for Kanto, so they must be entering contests to improve their skills.

During the Appeal Rounds, May used Wartortle, Zoey used Gallade, Kenny used Floatzel, Harley used an Azumarill and Dawn used Mamoswine. Ash and Ursula also performed and they really stood out to the crowd.

In the finals of the Battle Rounds, it was Ash against Harley. Snivy had an advantage over Azumarill since she was a grass-type, but she was at a size disadvantage because she was only at her first evolutionary stage and Azumarill was fully evolved. Ursula was cheering from the stands since she lost to Zoey in the second battle round.

"Well, folks, it has been an exciting contest today, but now we are down to the final two co-ordinators, Ash and Harley. Only one of these two can be the winner. So let the battle begin!", announced Susan.

"Snivy, lets start off with your Leaf Blade to deal some beginning damage.",said Ash. Snivy's leaf-shaped tail suddenly began to glow a bright green colour and she lunged forward in her rolling stance towards Azumarill.

"Azumarill, honey, counter that with your own Iron Tail!", said Harley. A metallic colour enveloped Azumarill's tail and it met direct contact with Snivy's tail. Leaf Blade was not strong against Iron Tail and the impact sent Snivy flying backwards.

"Now lets go with Hydro Pump!", said Harley. A huge torrent of water suddenly flshed out of Azumarill's mouth and headed towards Snivy at full speed. The water suddenly hit Snivy with great force and she was knocked down on the ground, but still got up.

"Snivy, can you go on?", asked Ash with concern.

"Snivy.",said Snivy when she faced her trainer.

Suddenly, a bright blue aura surrounded her.

"What's this folks? It looks like after getting hit with that Hydro Pump, Snivy is evolving.", announced Susan.

Snivy's form began to change. Her body began to take on a more taller and slender form. The arms and legs grew a little bigger while a few more leaves had begun to sprout from her tail. When the aura suddenly vanished, there was no longer a Snivy. Instead there was, by far, the most beautiful female grass snake pokemon, Servine.

"Servine!", said Servine happily.

"Congratulations, Servine. You learned some new moves. And you look fantastic, too.", said Ash.

"Servine.", replied Servine, blushing.

"No matter, hun. Even if Snivy has evolved, she still doesn't stand a chance.", said Harley, "Lets finish this with a Hyper Beam, Azumarill!"

A bright orange orb began to form in Azumarill's mouth and, with quick thinking, fired it straight at Servine.

"Servine, Use Agility to dodge. And while you are still moving, charge up a Solar Beam and fire it when ready.", retaliated Ash.

Servine suddenly began to move at a Liepard's pace and dodged the Hyper Beam with much ease, but was also forming a green ball of energy in her mouth as she ran. She then fired the Solar Beam at Azumarill. The water pokemon suffered much damage and fell to the floor with swirls in its eyes.

"Azumarill is unable to battle. That means Ash and Servine are the winners of the Vermillion City Pokemon Contest.", announced Susan.

After he received the Vermillion Ribbon, Ash had retrieved his belongings and changed out of his aura suit with Pikachu on his shoulder as usual. He then met up with Ursula.

After the contest was over, Ash and Ursula continued on their way towards Saffron City for Ursula's next gym battle with Sabrina. But they picked up Ambipom first, who was waiting in the forest. She was extremely happy to see Ash again and showed it by classically stealing his new hat. Ash had to keep on chasing Ambipom to get his hat back, but he finally did and got her in one of his new pokeballs. Ursula giggled the whole time, thinking it was funny and she actually thought that he was kind of…cute.

The journey through Kanto for Ash and company went very well and was really exciting for them as the region had changed in many ways. For one, the Pokemon Battle Club Corporation had spread throughout Kanto and was now beginning to present itself in the Johto region.

The gang had found out about this when they had arrived in Celadon City after Ursula earned her Marsh Badge at the Saffron City Gym when she defeated Sabrina. A brand new Battle Club building had been constructed right next to the Celadon City Gym and a new stadium was built so that there could be any Battle Club tournaments. Ash had told her along the way that the gym uses grass-types, the battles are three-on-three and the gym leader is Erika.

On the day that they got there, Ursula had challenged the gym. She used her Sandy Cloak Wormadam, Flareon and Bellsprout against Erika's Gloom, Vileplume and Bellossom. During the match, Flareon had managed to knock out Vileplume with a single Fireblast, but had also done some damage to Bellossom before being knocked out. Wormadam had finished the job by defeating Bellossom before being defeated by Gloom. When Bellsprout went up against in the final battle against Gloom, he kept on being hit by multiple Sludge Bombs. This caused Bellsprout to evolve into Weepinbell. With Weepinbell's new moveset, he was able to defeat Gloom. Ursula had won the match and the Rainbow Badge.

During the whole time, Ash had decided to get some aura training done with Riolu at the Pokemon Centre Battlefield. It took a lot of focus and energy to summon the aura properly from his body, but he was beginning to get the hang of it with Riolu's help. Riolu said that if they kept on training on a regular basis, he can start to use aura to sense his surroundings in just a few short months.

When Ursula had come back and told him she had won the badge, Ash was very happy for her. But when they were about to leave, something had caught their eye when they passed the Pokemon Centre lobby.

There was a poster on the wall saying that there was going to be a Pokemon Battle Tournament at the Celadon City Stadium the next day, hosted by the Celadon City Pokemon Battle Club. The grand prize for the winner was the complete evolutionary set of Eeveelutions. They both looked at the pictures of the evolved forms of Eevees. There was a Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Umbreon, Espeon, Glaceon and Leafeon. But there was also a picture of another evolution of Eevee that they have never seen before. It was white and pink in colours that had blue eyes, a pink tail, a bow on its left ear that had the same body colours wit htwo different shades of blues well as a same-coloured bowtie in its neck and what looked like streamers coming from its head.

The duo were both wondering where that pokemon was from and what it was called. But one thing was definitely for sure. If that was a new pokemon that they never seen before, then it had to come from a completely different region. They both agreed that when they finished their journey through Kanto, they would go to the new region straight away together.

There was also a list of rules at the bottom of the poster. Participants can use different pokemon for their battles and all battles will be one-on-one. No substitutions will be allowed. Registrations can be made at the Pokemon Centre. The day when entries will be closed is 17th June at midnight.

Realising that it was already 17th of June, Ash and Ursula quickly registered at the Pokemon Centre. They also saw that Dawn, May and Max were registered for the tournament too. But Ash also saw two people who were registered he didn't expect to see, Paul and Trip. Ash thought that Paul was here to challenge the Kanto Battle Frontier and Trip was probably here just to see if Kanto was a 'boonie', as well as its gyms and league. He didn't have anything against them since they weren't with the traitors.

Seeing as how they already had some Eeveelutions, they both decided to agree on something. Ash said he won, he would give her the Glaceon and Ursula said that she would give him the Flareon and Vaporeon if she won.

For the rest of the night, things went very smoothly for the two. They had dinner at a restaurant together that allowed trainers to eat with one of their pokemon. They had decided to bring Pikachu and Gabite with them since they were their favourite pokemon companions.

When they returned to the Pokemon Centre, they both had separate rooms to sleep in. As Ash was about to get into bed, Manaphy got out of his pokeball, wanting to sleep with his Papa again. Ash said yes to that.

Then they all fell asleep.

In another room of the Pokemon Centre, May couldn't get to sleep for some reason. The truth was that she couldn't sleep since she and the others ditched Ash. She felt like a piece of her heart was missing like someone-or something- was missing from her life.

Unfortunately, she didn't know, that right now, that missing piece was closer to her than she thought.

And that piece was Manaphy.

Xxxxx Flashback start

As the next day arrived, there was huge activity within the Pokemon Centre. Trainers were talking to each other while comparing each other's pokemon, some were getting breakfast at the cafeteria and a few were waiting for their pokemon to be healed.

Ash and Ursula had already made it to the Celadon Stadium for the tournament and were in the waiting area. There were a lot of trainers who were busy preparing their own pokemon.

The duo were having a talk with the pokemon they were going to use for their first battle for the tournament. Ash had decided to use Gible for the first match and the reason for this was that he wanted to try out a new trick that involves using Draco Meteor. Ursula had decided to use Gabite for the battle. Gabite was looking at Gible in a…strange sort of manner. She was carefully admiring him as if she was checking him out if he was worthy of being her significant other, and was blushing the whole time. Ash and Ursula noticed this, both giving out small snickers.

"Looks like Gabite likes Gible, even if he is her pre-evolved form.", said Ursula, still giggling.

"I know.", agreed Ash.

Suddenly, Don George's voice came over the loudspeaker. "Welcome, one and all, to the Celadon City Pokemon Tournament. I'm sure you are all excited for all the trainers and their pokemon to do their best in the tournament. And I'm sure that you're all even more excited to see who will be the winner of this tournament. There has been a total of thirty-two trainers who have signed up to be in this tournament, so that means there will be five solid rounds and there can only be one winner. And, as most of you know, the winner will get a full set of eight different evolutions of Eevee. All battles will be one-on-one battles and you can use different pokemon for every battle you get into. So without further delay, you will all see the trainer match-ups on the screen in the stadium, and let the tournament begin!"

On the huge screen that was hanging on one of the walls of the stadium, all of the trainers pictures showed up and found their matches. Max and Ursula were going against each other, May, Paul and Dawn all had unknown trainers, all other trainers had their own match-ups, and Ash was going up against… Trip. Ash saw this as an opportunity to get even with him. And it was the first battle.

As they made their way to the battlefield, Trip decided to speak up. "Well, Ash, looks like we meet again."

"Sure looks like that, Trip. I may not have given my all back in Unova, but I'm ready this time. And just because you might think that the pokemon I'll be using for our battle isn't as strong as you probably think, he is definitely no pushover.", said Ash with a grin.

"The battle between Ash from Pallet Town and Trip from Nuvema Town will now begin. Each trainer can use only one pokemon for this battle. The battle will be over when either side's pokemon will be unable to contine. Trainers, select your pokemon and begin the battle.", shouted out the referee.

"Serperior, lets go!", said Trip as he released his Regal Pokemon. When Serperior saw Ash, he was suddenly reminded that this was the same trainer who used a Pikachu to defeat him at the Unova League. He was hoping so that he could use Pikachu again so that he can be prove that a snake is always more dominant over a mouse.

"Serperior!", cried out Serperior.

"Gible, I choose you!.", shouted out Ash as he tossed out his pokeball. Gible soon came out in a flash of light and then solidified into his solid form.

"Gible!", he said.

Trip was surprised that Ash even had a pseudo-legendary pokemon in his possession. "A Gible? Not bad, Ash, but he still doesn't stand a chance because of his type disadvantage to grass types. Serperior, use Leaf Storm!"

But Ash was already a step ahead of Trip. "Gible, use Dig to evade that and then when your resurface, use Dragon Pulse!"

Gible then started to dig his way down into the ground, easily escaping the barrage of leaves. As he continued to dig his way towards Serperior, he began to power up a blue orb in his mouth. And when he came back up above the surface, he fired it behind Serperior, hitting his back and taking some major damage.

"Serperior, use Iron Tail!", said Trip out loud. The end of Serperior's tail suddenly glowed a metallic colour and swung it at Gible. The attack made some good damage on Gible, but he still got back up after being hit down. Gible was beginning to pant heavily, but Ash had just the plan to help him.

"Gible, power up a Draco Meteor, but instead of firing it, swallow it!", said Ash.

"What?! What are you planning, Ash?", said Trip in a confused and surprised manner.

Gible concentrated all of his dragon energy into the centre of his body and a big orange sphere was beginning to form in his mouth. He then swallowed the sphere back into his mouth. Gible was suddenly surrounded by a dark blue and purple aura, showing a boost of his dragon-type powers.

"Gible!", cried out Gible. But that was soon cut short because he was also soon covered in a light blue aura.

"Folks, this is astounding. A strange type of strategy that Ash has just told Gible to use has not only just powered up his strength, but it looks like he is beginning to evolve as well. Let's hope that we get one powerhouse of a Gabite.", announced Don George.

Gible soon began to change in his size, but something was not right. Gible was growing at a size that was far bigger than the size of a normal Gabite, but the crowd were about to get a huge surprise out of this. The fin on his back was growing much larger, the wings on his arms were much bigger than usual and the rest of the body soon stopped growing after a few moments. As the aura surrounding him broke away, everyone could not believe their eyes at what they are seeing. Where there was supposed to be a Gabite, there was instead a Garchomp.

"Garrr!", shouted out Garchomp.

"Folks, are you all seeing what I'm seeing? Ash's Gible has just evolved all the way into his final evolutionary form, Garchomp. The only possible way for a pokemon to perform such a feat is only if they are already had an insane amount of power within them and if they get a major power boost from a battle.", said Don George in shock.

The crowd suddenly cheered for the duo as if they were Cynthia and her Garchomp. However, the traitors were completely shocked to death with their jaws dropped. This was something none of them have ever seen before. Ursula's Gabite was actually having hearts in her eyes as she looked at Garchomp in a dreamy way. Ursula was completely speechless at this, and at the other end of the waiting area, Paul gave a small smile.

"And that's not all, everyone,", continued Don George, "This is not the miracle of not just any regular pokemon, but a pseudo-legendary pokemon to be exact."

"Wow, Garchomp. You're awesome. Congratulations!", said Ash to his dragon. Garchomp quickly rushed towards Ash and gave him a gentle nibble on the head in affection. Ash laughed at this. Garchomp then made his way back to the battlefield and faced Serperior. Serperior looked a little intimidated.

"Looks like you have learnt some new moves too, buddy. Finish this with Aerial Ace!", shouted Ash. Garchomp soon rose into the air and began flying down at top speed. He suddenly disappeared for a split second before we was practically in Serperior's face. Serperior was then hit with the attack and was knocked backwards into the stadium wall, unable to battle and with swirls in its eyes.

"Serperior is unable to battle. The victory of the first match goes to Ash and Garchomp.", said the referee. The crowd suddenly erupted into cheers for the two winners. Ash ran up to Garchomp and gave him a hug, while Garchomp returned it. As the two parted, Trip walked up to them.

As Ash and Trip shook hands, Trip smiled and spoke. "Well, Ash, I guess that from our battle today, you have definitely proven that you are no boonie, and I respect that. If you are going for the Kanto League, then I'll see you there since I'm going to compete in it."

"I hope to see you there too, Trip. And good luck.", replied Ash.

As they both exited the battlefield, Trip had grabbed up his backpack and left the stadium. Ash and Garchomp made their way back to the waiting area, only to be surrounded by people wanting to have his autograph, some fangirls wanting to get close to him and a few trainers who were admiring Garchomp. After dealing with the crowd, Ash and Garchomp had met up with Ursula and Gabite. Gabite instantly ran up to Garchomp and hugged him tightly.

"Ash, that was completely unbelievable! I know that pokemon can evolve to their next form on at a time, but Gible has performed the almost impossible and evolved straight into Garchomp.", said Ursula.

"Yep, I guess good things come to you when you do your best at things.", replied Ash.

The rest of the tournament went pretty well for the duo. Ursula had defeated Max quite easily, Paul had beaten his opponent without surprise with his Ursaring and May and Dawn had won their battles on close calls.

When the second round began, Ash had switched to using Gliscor against an opponent who had an Ariados. Ash won that battle when Gliscor learned Guillotine, May had went up against Ursula and lost when her Wartortle got defeated by Ursula's Dewgong and Dawn had won her battle with Mamoswine against a trainer who used a Swellow.

During the third round, the tension was really beginning to heat up. Ash had used his Krookodile in a match against a trainer who had unfortunately used a Luxray. And because he had a type disadvantage, Ash won that battle too with flying colours. Ursula went up against Paul with her Weepinbell, but was beaten by him and his Honchkrow without much difficulty. Dawn had won her battle with her Quilava against a trainer who had a Metang.

At the semi-finals, Ash versed against Dawn while Paul battled against another trainer. Dawn had decided to use Piplup for the battle and kept on hitting Ash with rude words and phrases, which truly surprised Paul. But Ash had only countered them with much better remarks, like calling her Dee Dee. He decided to use Buizel since he used to belong to Dawn and he wanted to have a chance at defeating his former owner.

Throughout the battle, Buizel was already beating Piplup by a mile, but he had also evolved into Floatzel. As a finishing move, he had delivered a new combo move that he and Ash had perfected before their battle, Glacier Crash. The move consisted of freezing a Whirlpool with Ice Beam and then using Iron Tail to hit it at Piplup. Buizel had quickly learned Whirlpool with Ash and he had learned Iron Tail, Ice Beam and Hydro Pump while he was at Professor Oak's. Ash won the battle. Paul also won his battle with much ease.

At last, it was Ash against Paul in the final battle. Pikachu was standing next to the referee. As the referee was calling out the details of the battle Paul decided to start a little conversation.

"Ash, it has been quite a while since the Sinnoh League, hasn't it?", said Paul in a calm, yet positive tone.

"It has, Paul. At this battle, I hope you can give it all you got because I'm going to use my most powerful pokemon.", replied Ash softly.

"Is that so then? Well, it just so happens that I am going to use my powerhouse as well. So it looks like it is going to be a battle of the titans.", said Paul.

"Trainers, battle begin!", shouted out the referee.

"Torterra, stand by for battle!", said Paul as he tossed the pokeball of his starter pokemon. Torterra materialised from the white light and landed on the battlefield.

"Tor Terra!". it shouted.

"Charizard, I choose you!", said Ash. The pokeball that he threw snapped open and a white light escaped form it. Charizard soon materialised from it, battle ready.

"RRRAARRGH!" , he bellowed his greatest roar. As he faced Torterra, a sudden fire in their eyes appeared and were giving each other death glares. This was the beginning of a new rivalry.

"Torterra, lets start off with Stone Edge!", called out Paul. Sharp stones began to form all around Torterra's body and were soon launched towards Charizard.

But Ash had a good defense for this. "Charizard, spin vertically and use Steel Wing to destroy that Stone Edge!"

Charizard's wings turned into a metallic colour and began to spin in mid-air. The stones simply broke apart into tiny pieces, not doing any effect to the steel-type move.

"Now dive in and use Dragon Tail!", said Ash. Charizard's wings returned to their original state, but now his tail had become a blue colour. He then began to charge from the sky and flew down towards Torterra.

"Torterra, use Frenzy Plant to stop Charizard in his tracks and then use Giga Drain.", said Paul. From out of the ground, gigantic vines sprouted from under Charizard and waited for Charizard to get nearer, while the rocks on Torterra's back glowed green and some beams of energy shot out towards Charizard.

"Charizard use Metal Claw to cut up that Frenzy Plant when you're close enough at top speed and use Flamethrower to counter the Giga Drain.", said Ash quickly.

Charizard's claws became a shiny steel colour and, when he came into range, he began to slice up the vines at lightning fast speed. He also shot a burst of flames at the green beams, complete obliterating them. Some of the fire also hit Torterra, causing some good damage. Since using Frenzy Plant rendered Torterra immobile for a short time, this gave Ash a good chance to try out another combo attack.

"Charizard, lets try out your combo move. Use Molten Claw!", said Ash out loud.

"What kind of move is that?", asked Paul in total confusion.

The faces of the crowd were also full of confusion as they had never heard of this combo move before. Charizard's fists suddenly went ablaze with a double Fire Punch, but the claws also turned a metallic colour, showing that it was Metal Claw. The metal suddenly went a bright red colour, indicating that it was absorbing the heat and becoming hotter. Charizard then suddenly lunged forward and swiped his blazing claws at Torterra's back, dealing a major amount of damage. Torterra suddenly fell down in exhaustion with swirls in his eyes.

"Torterra is unable to battle. That means the winners of the Celadon City Pokemon Tournament are Ash Ketchum and Charizard.", announced the referee.

Ash had also just decided to release Floatzel, Garchomp, Krookodile and Gliscor so that they all can be congratulated with him and Charizard.

"And there you have it, folks. Ash Ketchum is the winner of the Celadon City Pokemon Tournament. He has accomplished many great things at the tournament today and shown off some pretty good combos with skill and greatness. Lets all give him and his pokemon a big cheer for their great efforts.", called out Don George.

The crowd erupted into cheers, shouts, whistles and screams. Some groups of girls were admiring Ash, some were taking pictures of him an his pokemon fo memories and some were beginning to get at the waiting area to get his autograph. Ash and his pokemon waved back at the crowd.

Paul returned Torterra after giving some words of thanks and walked up to Ash. There wasn't any frowns on his face, but a warm smile. "Congratulations, Ash. You and your pokemon have definitely improved since we met last. The combo moves were actually pretty good and Gible evolving straight into Garchomp is nothing short of impressive."

"Thanks, Paul. You did well, too. So I'll take it that you are here to participate in the Kanto Battle Frontier and finally defeat Brandon?", asked Ash in return.

"That's right. I'm also going to participate in the Kanto League as well. If you are going to participate in that too, then I won't be going easy on you. And it looks like you were right about one thing.", said Paul.

"What's that, Paul?", asked Ash.

"I guess being nice to your pokemon can really pay off. Ever since I became a lot friendlier to mine, they have been more co-operative as well. I learnt that from you.", replied Paul.

"That's good to hear Paul. Do you want to travel with me and Ursula for a bit?", asked Ash pointing to Ursula.

"No thanks, Ash. I think I'll stay by myself for a while. But until next time, good luck on doing contests.", replied Paul. Ash was surprised by this, but Paul probably saw the Viridian contest.

Paul then turned away and walked out of the one of the stadium entrances. He was probably going to the Pokemon Centre to get his pokemon healed. But not before waving good-bye.

Ash and his pokemon then proceeded to the middle of the battlefield where Don George was waiting for him with a small box.

"So, Ash congratulations on your win today. You ought to be proud of yourself and your pokemon. They have really shown out their true potentials.", said Don George with a smile.

"Thanks, Don George. I'll continue to make them better and we will soon become the best in the world.", replied Ash.

"That's the spirit,", said Don George as he gave the box to Ash, "In the box are the eight pokeballs of the Eeveelutions. That includes Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Espeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, Leafeon and Sylveon."

"Sylveon? Is that the name the eighth evolution that was on the poster which had a pink colour?", asked Ash in wonder.

"That's right. Sylveon is a Fairy-type pokemon that is native to the Kalos region. It can't be found anywhere else in the world.", explained Don George.

"The Kalos region? Where is that region?", asked Ash.

"It's south of Kanto and is only an overnight flight away by plane. As well as that, it has its very own Pokemon League and Pokemon Contest Circuit. Maybe when you're done in Kanto, you can maybe explore that region then.", said Don George.

Ash thought for a moment. It would be great to visit this new Kalos region, but it might cut into his journey for the Johto region. Maybe he could put the Johto region aside for a while and perhaps Ursula would want to come with him. Besides, he would love to catch some fairy-type pokemon.

"Ok, Don George. I think I will go there, but only after the Kanto League is finished.", said Ash.

"Good to hear, Ash.", replied Don George.

When the Awards Ceremony was over and everybody had left the stadium, Ash and Ursula were on their way to get their belongings. He told her about the new Kalos region and the other interesting facts. The part that intrigued Ursula the most was the fairy-type pokemon. Ash then asked her if she wanted to go with him when he goes to participate in the region's league and contest circuits. She agreed to this since she said that she was going to actually battle in all of the leagues of every known region, including Kalos, but she wasn't going to do the Elite Four and Champion Challenges. She also wanted to catch some new fairy-type pokemon since they sounded cute ad could be perfect for contests.

When they got back to the Pokemon Centre, they decided to check out after they had some lunch and heal their pokemon before they leave for the next town. They also decided to get acquainted with the new Eeveelutions that Ash had won.

When they came out of their respective pokeballs, they immediately took a strong liking to Ash. Espeon and Umbreon licked Ash's face and Leafeon intertwined his grass tail around Ash's arm. Sylveon particularly liked him since she wrapped her ribbon feelers around his leg in affection. Not seeing the traitors anywhere, Ash and Ursula decided to release the Eeveelutions they already had. Ash's Glaceon had immediately fallen in love with the new male Glaceon and the same thing happened with the Vaporeons and Flareons since they were of an opposite gender.

Ash explained to the newcomers that he was going to be their new friend and trainer and that he was going to make sure they will greatly taken care of and he will make sure no-one else will hurt them. They all gave some cries of happiness. When Ash told the new Glaceon he was going to give him to Ursula, he felt a little sad since he wouldn't see his female counterpart. But Ash explained that he and Ursula were traveling together and he can see her throughout the journey as much as he wanted. That immediately made both Glaceons happy and agreed to be Ursula's pokemon.

After they had finished lunch, there was still some time before their pokemon were finished healing, so Ash used one of the computers to do some research about the Kalos region. They had also returned their Eeveelutions to their pokeballs and Ursula received Glaceon.

What he had found out was really incredible. The region was famous for being the only region that was home to Fairy-type pokemon. The Champion of the Kalos Pokemon League was named Diantha and she has been a Champion for several years with her own Elite Four team. The contest circuit was the same as all the other regions and held their own Grand Festival.

The information about fairy-type pokemon really surprised Ash. It was shown that they were immune to dragon-type attacks, but they were affected by poison-types and steel-types. It also gave out a list of known fairy-type pokemon. This made Ash realise that he was in possession of three fairy pokemon already, Jigglypuff, Togepi, and obviously, Sylveon. He couldn't believe his luck.

But there was one thing that really caught his attention. Scientists and pokemon researchers were studying something called Mega-Evolution. It involves a certain fully evolved pokemon evolving again for the duration of a battle and having their stats raised to a much more powerful level. But in order for the evolution to work, the pokemon and trainer had to have a powerful bond that brings them together as one. It also involved having to use things that are called Mega Stones and Keystones. They were stones that very rare to find and they had their own unique effects on their respective pokemon. For the trainer the Mega stone can be used in an object called a Mega Ring, an accessory that for the wrist that can start the evolution process, but there were other accessories than a Mega Ring. At the same time, the pokemon will have to wear something so that they can use the stone as well. The most common way was a necklace. Some known pokemon who could mega evolve were Gengar, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Alakazam, Lucario, Tyranitar, Garchomp, Heracross and Blaziken. Ash thought that if he could fully evolve the pokemon he already has who could Mega Evolve, then he could have a better chance of winning any future leagues or festivals. But he will still have to have a good bond with Blaziken since he used to be May's pokemon and he had been with Ash for a short while.

About half an hour later, Ash, Ursula had received Pikachu and the rest of their pokemon from Nurse Joy, they turned to leave for the next town. Pikachu jumped on Ash's shoulder in delight while he and Ursula put away the pokeballs in their backpacks. As they walked out of the front door they once again with May, Dawn and Max.

Xxxxx Flashback start

"You may have won this tournament, Ash, but when we meet at the Kanto League, I put you in your place of being a loser. And if you think that those Eeveelutions that you won will help you to win, you had better think again. They were weak-looking anyway. You must have somehow cheated, cheater.", shouted Max.

"And we have more experience at Grand Festivals than you two ever will. We'll beat you so badly, you'll never want to do contests again.", said May. Dawn nodded in agreement.

Ursula and Ash both looked at each other for a few seconds before bursting into laughter. Pikachu followed their example and laughed too. This both infuriated and confused the traitors.

"Seriously, Max? In case you have haven't seen, some of my pokemon had evolved throughout the tournament, including a pseudo-legendary pokemon like Garchomp. As well as that, I also made some new combo moves that can help me win the Kanto League. If you haven't seen any of that, then that means that not only are your eyes completely busted up, but also your skills as a trainer and your brain. The only reason why they evolved and I won is because we have been training more than you ever have been, so I didn't cheat,", said Ash in return and then turned to May and Dawn, "and as for you two, Ursula has been giving me really good advice about co-ordinating. It's you two who are going to be completely humiliated. And that includes at any future Wallace Cup Tournaments."

"That's right, Dee Dee, Shortstuff and Miss Noodle Addict. With each other's help and expertise, we'll become better than you faster than you can say 'Darn, I lost!'", said Ursula, cutting into them deep like a Gyarados' teeth.

This had truly crossed the traitors' line. Ash may have insulted the traitors the last time they have met and they ended up completely fried, but this really takes the cake, him saying that they themselves are liabilities at battling and co-ordinating.

"Well then, let's see how you deal with this.", retorted Max as he threw a pokeball into the air, revealing a Grovyle. Dawn and May did this too as they released Quilava and Wartortle

All of a sudden, three flashes of light escaped out from Ash's backpack. They then solidified into Typhlosion, Blastoise and Sceptile. The three pokemon had let themselves out of to protect their trainer.

"Raarrrgh!", shouted Typhlosion in anger.

"Blastoise!", said Blastoise in fury.

"Sceptile!", said Sceptile calmly, but in a negative tone.

While Ash and Ursula had been traveling through Kanto in the last fortnight, they had some training sessions with their pokemon. Ash's Quilava and Squirtle had helped Ursula's Vaporeon and Flareon to get stronger and they had evolved into Typlosion and Wartortle in the process. The next few times they had training sessions, Wartortle had evolved into Blastoise and, Typhlosion had learned Fire Blast and Sceptile had learned Dragon Pulse.

The three fully evolved starters gave angry looks at their enemies and their weak-looking pre-evolutions. The leaves on Sceptile's arms grew and glowed green, some flames began to form in Typlosion's mouth and the cannons on Blastoise's back took aim at Wartortle, ready to fire. The traitors and their pokemon sweatdropped in fright and backed away.

"Guys, I don't even have to tell you what attacks to use, so just give'em what they deserve.", said Ash calmly.

Sceptile suddenly rushed forward and hit Grovyle with Leaf Blade, Typhlosion sent a Fire Blast straight at Quilava and Blastoise blasted a Hydro Cannon at Wartortle. When the attacks hit their targets, they sent them flying straight into the stomachs of their trainers. This sent them all flying a few meters backwards. May was soaking wet with her Wartortle, Dawn had some burn marks from the Fire Blast as well as her Quilava and Max had some minor bruises like his Grovyle.

"Great job, you three. Your power has really astounded me. Well done.", said Ash to his pokemon as he gave them some Pokeblock. They happily accepted them and ate them, savouring the yummy flavours of the candy.

"Now that our business in Celadon City is done, let's get going, guys. It's noon right about now, so we should get to the next town by dusk.", said Ash to his companions and pokemon. They all nodded.

"And, Max? One more thing. The Kanto League is taking place in about two and a half months, so I suggest that you better get a move on if you even want to participate.", said Ash with a grin.

They then turned their backs to the shocked traitors and walked away.

Xxxxx Flashback end

As Ash and company continues their journey through Kanto they continued to improve their skills. They had exchanged as much information as possible about their techniques and strategies. One move that Ash had explained to Ursula was Thunder Armour. It was the very same combo that he used in a gym battle in Hoenn with Pikachu and Swellow. He explained to her that the move was incredibly powerful, but it was too risky to do again. But he said that he could make his flying-types stronger and that he could perhaps do it in the future. Ursula explained some contest technique of her own and they were actually not half-bad in Ash's opinion.

During the journey, they also caught more pokemon. Ursula had caught her own male Caterpie, a female Nidoran, a Clefairy, a Farfetch'd, a Meowth that obviously couldn't talk, Staryu, a Tentacool, a male Lapras, a male Horsea and a Goldeen.

Ash had caught a Magnemite, a Vulpix, a Scyther, a Magikarp because he wanted a strong Gyarados on his team, a Dratini and a female Horsea of his own.

But he caught three other pokemon he thought he would never see again. They were an Aerodactyl, a Kabutops and an Omastar. But they were just any random fossil pokemon. They were the very same fossil pokemon that Ash had stumbled across back on his Kanto journey on the day that Charizard had evolved from Charmeleon and the Aerodactyl was the same one that taunted him.

Xxxxx Flashback start

Ash and Ursula were eating spaghetti for lunch while Pikachu and Gabite were eating pokemon food. The meadow was close to the former excavation area that was closed down after an attack by prehistoric pokemon. Ash was just explaining what happened on that day to Ursula. The prehistoric pokemon, Charizard evolving and some other unimportant details. Everything seemed fine until they saw something that caught their eye. The wall of the large mountain where the excavation site used to be was beginning to crack and there seemed to be some ponding noises coming form the inside.

Ash quickly grabbed Charizard's and Garchomp's pokeballs from his backpack and released them while Gabite stood ready, expecting the worst.

"Charizard, do you remember that place?", asked Ash to Chaizard while pointing at the mountain.

Charizard was a little confused for a moment, but then he finally recognised the mountain. It was the same place where he had evolved and battled Aerodactyl. He suddenly began to growl in anger at the memory of that repulsive pokemon.

"Looks like you do remember, buddy. And coincidentally, there is a pounding sound coming from the inside of it. If that is the very same Aerodactyl and his friends trying to break out, how would you like to settle the score with him, once and for all?", asked Ash.

At hearing this, Charizard took a battle ready stance and extended his wings. Right now, he wanted, more than anything, to defeat Aerodactyl and take his revenge.

But all of a sudden-

CRASH

Suddenly, the cracks broke apart in the wall and formed a large hole. Out from the hole, flew out an Aerodactly and some Kabuto, Omanyte, an Omastar and a Kabutops exited the mountain. They first shielded their eyes from the blinding light, but then they looked around at their surroundings. It looked very strange to them, but at the same time… familiar.

"Ursula, these are some pokemon that Charizard and I have a score to settle with. You and Gabite stay back. We can take care of this.", said Ash.

"Are you sure about this?", said Ursula in concern. Gabite felt the same way for Garchomp.

"Yes.", said Ash. He then ran towards the fossil pokemon while Charizard and Garchomp took off into the air. As soon as they got close enough, Ash gave out a shout to get their attention.

"Hey! Everyone! Remember us?", shouted Ash out loud to the fossil pokemon.

The fossil pokemon turned Ash's way to face their oppressors. The Omastar and Kabutops gave out a roar of anger, showing that they remembered Ash and Charizard and that they want to show him they want payback for trapping them in the cave for so long. Aerodactyl also saw Ash, but he was keeping his attention more focused on Charizard. He gave out a shrill cry and Charizard gaveout a roar of challenge.

"So we meet again, you overgrown lizard.", said Aerodactyl while forming a smirk on his face and cackling, "Have you come back to humiliate yourself some more?"

"You and I have a score to settle, you old fossil. I want revenge and I will get it today.", said Charizard.

"Well then, bring it on. What are you waiting for?", said Aerodactyl.

Charizard suddenly charged forward without warning and slammed into Aerodactyl. The impact sent him falling to the ground, but he still got back up.

"Charizard, can you handle Aerodactyl by yourself?", asked Ash, who got a roar and a nod in answer, "Ok. Garchomp and I will take care of the others and direct them back into the cave."

Ash and Garchomp suddenly turned back their attention at the other fossil pokemon. They were slowly beginning to spread out, but not fast enough. Ash suddenly had an idea.

"Garchomp, use Rock Slide to block off their path.", said Ash.

Suddenly, gigantic stones began to appear out of thin air and crashed onto the ground. Garchomp then ran up to them and began to hit them with Iron Tail towards the pokemon. The stones had managed to block off the Omanyte and Kabuto, but Kabutops and Omastar were slightly faster and got past the stones. A sudden Hydro Pump escaped from Omastar's mouth and headed straight for Garchomp. Kabutops did the same thing with Ice Beam.

"Garchomp, quickly counter those attacks with Dragon Breath and then get up close and do a double Brick Break on them both. I think we should add them for our team since they know such powerful moves.", said Ash while observing the opposition.

Garchomp jumped up in the air and glided using his wings to dodge both attacks. The claws on the tips of his arms then suddenly glowed white, signalling Brick Break. The then got to a point blank range with his opressors and slammed his claws down on Kabutops' head and Omastar's shell. The duo fell on the floor with swirls in their eyes form the super effective attack.

"Ok.", said Ash as he threw two empty pokeballs from his hands at the defeated, "Go, Pokeballs!"

The two pokeballs suddenly hit their targets and sucked up the pokemon in a flash of red light. The pokeballs then snapped shut and bounced on the floor. They shook three times each before a ding was heard, showing that they had been captured.

"Alright, Garchomp. We just caught an Omastar and a Kabutops!", exclaimed Ash in his classic stance. He then thanked Garchomp with a pink Pokeblock and a pat on the back. Garchomp didn't take long on the candy because he then nibbled on Ash's head in affection for a moment before letting go.

"We had better go see how Charizard is doing. Even though he is the strongest in the Charicific Valley that Aerodactyl is still unpredictable and sneaky.", said Ash. They both then hurried to where Charizard was battling Aerodactyl and they got a big surprise.

Charizard was actually winning the battle against his opponent, even though he was at a double disadvantage. He must have used multiple Steel Wings and Metal Claws to get the upper hand because Aerodactyl was in a completely crumpled heap on the ground, bruised and cut.

"Well, Charizard, looks like you succeeded in beating Aerodactyl. I'm very proud of you.", said Ash as he handed Charizard a piece of Pokeblock, which he ate.

He then tapped a third pokeball on the unconscious Aerodactyl. He was sucked in a bright flash of red light and disappeared into the sphere. A moment later, a ding went off.

"Looks like we caught ourselves another fossil pokemon.", said Ash to his two partners, "but we still have to somehow deal with the problem of the Omanyte and Kabuto."

As they got back to where the leftover fossil pokemon were, Ash saw Ursula and Gabite were there.

"Well, I'll take it that you were successful in stopping the prehistoric pokemon?", asked Ursula.

"That's right. And we even caught the Aerodactyl, Omastar and Kabutops.", said Ash.

"That's great Ash. So what do we do with the other pokemon? I mean, we can't just leave them here.", said Ursula.

Ash thought for a moment. The hole in the mountain was pretty big and he didn't think filling it in would help because they would just break out again. But he soon had an idea.

"There is a river nearby. Maybe we could lead them there and that river could possible go out to sea and they can be free into the wild. That sounds like the only thing for us to try.", explained Ash.

"Great idea. Lets get started.", replied Ursula.

When the giant stones were cleared from around the prehistoric pokemon, the only thing that was left for them to do was to somehow get there. Their pokemon helped to talk for Ash and Ursula to the fossil pokemon and told them that they were going to set them free into the ocean. It took a little convincing, but soon, the prehistoric pokemon were drifting down the river towards the ocean, towards their home.

When that was done, they went back to what they were doing. And that was having lunch with their pokemon.

While on their journey, Ash had suggested something. It would be faster if they flew on their pokemon. This led to Ash riding on the back of Charizard while Ursula rode on Garchomp for the rest of their Kanto journey. This allowed them to get to contests and gyms faster.

The remaining two gyms that Ursula had defeated were the Fuschia City Gym and the Cinnabar Island Gym. They were two of the gyms that Ash had conquered and he persuaded Ursula to get her badges there.

Not much had changed about the Fuschia City Gym when Ursula had defeated it, but there were some new things about Cinnabar Island. It used to be an island completely dedicated to tourism, but now, it has been partially contributed to trainers and other pokemon-wielding travellers. There had been a new Pokemon Centre build near the centre of the town and the gym has been restored.

When they got to the island's main town, they had found that the gym was no longer in the volcano, but it was now where it used to be at the town. Ash had remembered that when he first got tho what was the Cinnabar Gym, it was completely wrecked and in a pile. But it had been completely restored to its former glory and was rebuilt as a domed building that was red in colour.

Ash had told Ursula that Blaine uses fire-type pokemon in his battles and he does two-on-two battles. Ash also said that when he battled with Blaine last time he used a Rhydon and a Magmar. That made Ursula choose her Vaporeon and Gabite for the match.

Before Ursula could have her gym battle, Ash and Blaine decided to catch up together. Blaine said that ever since he had his gym battle with him five years ago, he decided to call up the Pokemon League Association so that he could discuss with them to build a new gym in town since the old one was destroyed by Team Rocket. And ever since the new gym and Pokemon Centre were built, there have been a lot more trainers showing up for gym battles. Ash was impressed by this and was impressed even more when he saw that Blaine's Magmar had evolved into Magmortar and he also had a Torkoal as a second fire-type.

By the end of that day, Ursula had won her eighth and final gym battle for her to compete in the Kanto League. Ash was very proud of her and he was amazed that they had managed to get to all eight gyms in just a month and a half. That was thanks to their fast walking paces and to Charizard and Garchomp for flying them.

At the same time, Ash and Ursula have been doing exceptionally well in Pokemon Contests. Charizard and Garchomp had assisted them for getting around on time. For most contests, they kept on seeing the remaining trio of traitors as well as other co-ordinators that they knew such as Drew, Zoey, Kenny and Nando. They had all won a good amount of ribbons to qualify for the Kanto Grand Festival, but Ash and Ursula had also won their five ribbons so that they could enter too.

Believe or not, by coincidence, a Wallace Cup Tournament Event was held at the Cinnabar Island Battle Stadium. Obviously, May, Dawn, Zoey, Kenny, Drew, Harley and Nando entered for the opportunity to get the Wallace Ribbon, but Ash and Ursula had also entered without giving it a second thought.

That Wallace Cup turned out to be one of the most memorable events to happen in contest history because of the participation of an unexpected and beautiful pokemon that Ash used to win. And that pokemon was Ho-oh.

xxxxx Flashback start

The night before the Wallace Cup, Ash and Ursula were silently laying in their own beds at the Pokemon Centre. Ursula's Gabite was laying at the foot of her bed, unable to sleep from the excitement raging in her. Gabite was going to be her main performance pokemon for the Wallace Cup tomorrow since she had improved in strength and beauty.

However, Ash still hasn't decided which pokemon he was going to use for the Wallace Cup. Pikachu and Manaphy were fast asleep in Ash's bed, both covered n a warm blanket and resting their soft heads on the pillow.

He thought of using Leavanny or Pikachu, but he knew that there would be a lot of pokemon that would have a major advantage against them. He, at one point, thought of using one of his legendary pokemon, but he then knew that would attract a lot of unwanted attention and it could risk their safety. He was about to think of using Typhlosion when he heard Ho-oh's voice.

"Chosen One, I sense that you are having trouble deciding on who to use for tomorrow's contest. Correct, am I not?", asked Ho-oh.

Ash quickly grabbed Ho-oh's pokeball and whispered back a response, not wanting to awaken the other two. "Yeah. I'm really confused at the moment. I don't know who to use."

"Why don't you allow me to compete? It sounds like fun.", said Ho-oh.

"Are you sure about this, Ho-oh?", asked Ash in concern.

"Of course, Ash. Also there is another reason why I decided to start this conversation. Myself and the other legendary pokemon have had a talk between ourselves. Ursula has been your travelling companion for a couple of months now and, along the journey, has supported you and cared for you and you have for her. Tomorrow, when competition finishes, it would be great if you could introduce her to your entire team, including the Legendaries. Then we can all help you explain your true identity to her.", explained Ho-oh.

Ash was surprised by this. Ursula and himself have been travelling together for a couple of months now and they have always trusted each other. But he didn't think that the Legendaries would trust her after such a short amount of time. But they were quite wise and seemed to know that it was the right choice.

"Are you sure about this? You all seem to trust her already? Is she forever trustworthy?", asked Ash.

"If you recall when I gave you one of my feathers, I explained that you would find someone who you could trust forever with a doubt. And we think that Ursula is that someone.", said Ho-oh, "And besides, Manaphy has been starting to call Ursula 'Mama' behind your backs."

Ash gave a small chuckle. "Alright then. I'll let you compete in the Wallace Cup tomorrow and then you all can meet Ursula. I promise."

"That's great to hear, Ash.", replied Ho-oh, before the voice silenced.

Ash then put the pokeball back into his backpack. He then turned back to Manaphy. "Tomorrow, Manaphy, you'll meet your new Mama.", he whispered softly.

Even though Manaphy was asleep, he gave a happy smile. The biggest since he was reunited with his Papa.

The next day, the entire city was practically screaming. A large crowd was gathered outside the stadium to watch the Wallace Cup while the rest decided to sit at the bleachers of the stadium to watch the competition up front.

At the main Co-ordinator Waiting Room, the contestants were preparing for their appeals. Some were in the dressing rooms making final preparations to their costumes, some girls, including Dawn, were adjusting their facial beauty and hair and the rest were getting their pokemon ready.

Ash and Ursula, were simply waiting for the competition to begin. Ash decided to wear his aura suit since it goes better with Ho-oh's introductory. It gives the duo a little hint of 'legend' and 'majesty'. Ursula was dressed in her turquoise dress with some white gloves, a pair of glass shoes and silver bows in her hair for her pigtails. Her Gabite was sitting beside her

"Ash, which pokemon are you going to use? You haven't told me yet.", asked Ursula.

Ash looked down at his capsuled pokeball. It had a limited edition rainbow sticker stuck to it. Ho-oh was in there.

"You'll see, Ursula. In my opinion, this pokemon was literally born to do contests. Once May and Dawn see this pokemon, they'll be the ones who'll be quitting contests.", said Ash, "And when the Wallace Cup is over, would you like to meet my entire pokemon team?"

"Sure. It would be great to see which pokemon you caught over the years. I'll show you my team as well.", replied Ursula with a smile.

More co-ordinators were pouring into the waiting room now. Drew was talking to Harley about something to do with May; probably how to beat her. Ash overheard Zoey and Kenny talking about him; it must have had something to do when Ash told Zoey he wasn't friends with Dawn. Nando, Dawn and May were in a group and showing their pokemon. Nando had his Armaldo, Dawn had Pachirisu and May had Venusaur. Max was also with them.

The TV on the wall suddenly turned on. It showed the stadium and the main battlefield. There were at least a thousand people at the bleachers. The battlefield had a pool in it, showing it was a water field.

All of a sudden, Susan's voice came over the loudspeakers. "Welcome, one and all, to the Annual Kanto Wallace Cup Tournament! Hope you are all having a good day today because it is about to get a whole lot better. We have a total of sixty-four co-ordinators who are entering this event and we all hope they do their best."

Ash smiled in delight. Ursula quickly returned Gabite to her pokeball in case she was first for the appeal.

Susan continued. "My name is Susan and I'll be your MC for today. We also have our panel of judges. First up, we have the Chief of the Pokemon Activities Committee, Mr Contesta!"

"Hello. It is a great privilege to attend this once-in-a-year opportunity. I hope to see great pokemon and event greater performances.", said Mr Contesta.

"Next up, we have the President of the Pokemon Fanclub, Mr Sukizo!", said Susan.

"Hello, everyone. Have fun and good luck on this wonderful event!", said Mr Sukizo.

"We also have the Pokemon Centre's very own Nurse Joy!", shouted out Susan.

"Hi there. Good luck to all co-ordinators and their pokemon on this wonderous day!", said Nurse Joy in a smile that was probably enough to make Brock run up to her in complete dumbfoundness.

"And lastly, we have a very special guest with us today. He is a World Renowned Top Co-ordinator and the Hoenn Champion. Let's give a great warm welcome to Wallace!", said Susan.

At that moment, a Milotic burst out of the water in the battlefield. On its back was Wallace. He was wearing his classic white and green clothes and hat. Milotic suddenly launched him into the air. He then landed in front fourth judge's box and turned to face the audience. What surprised everyone was that he was completely dry. The crowd erupted into cheers and screams of congratulations for the co-ordinator.

He then returned Milotic to its pokeball and spoke aloud. "Hello, everyone. It is truly an honour to once again host the Wallace Cup for all talented co-ordinators. I hope to see all co-ordinators and pokemon to do their best at this glorious event. And, as you all know, the overall winner will receive the symbol of this particular event. The Wallace Ribbon!"

He held up the ribbon. It was the same one that was presented to Dawn. It had its gold shape in the centre, with green and white ribbons. The crowd gave some 'oohhs' and 'aaahhs' at the sight of the prize.

He then walked to his judge's box and sat down at the seat.

"Thank you, Wallace. Now to explain the rules of the Wallace Cup. Each co-ordinator can use only one pokemon in the entire contest, for both the appeal round and the battle rounds. Don't worry about your pokemon being hurt or tired, because you will be provided with Potions and all kinds of berries to keep your pokemon it tip-top shape for the tournament at the waiting room. Only sixteen co-ordinators will progress into the battle rounds based on their appeal performances.", explained Susan.

Susan continued. "So, lets begin the Wallace Cup with our first co-ordinator, Dawn Berlitz!"

Dawn suddenly entered the stage with a capsuled pokeball in her hand. She was wearing her classic pink dress, but the there were some minor alterations that she seemed to have made.

"Pachirisu, Spotlight!", cried Dawn as she threw the pokeball into the air. A sudden blast of pink hearts appeared before the crowd. They all separated form each other, revealing the EleSquirrel pokemon.

"Chi Pa Isu!", cried out the little squirrel in delight and cuteness. Some of the crowd gave out cheers, including Max.

"Pachirisu, jump up into the air and spin while using Discharge!", said Dawn.

Pachirisu suddenly leaped into the air. He then let loose a discharge of blue electricity and began to spin in midair. As soon as he did, the bolt separated into a dozen and spun around as he spun.

"Now use Thunderbolt the same way you are using Discharge, Pachirisu!", commanded Dawn. At hearing that, Pachirisu released the yellow coloured lightning bolts from his body and directed them in the same pattern as Discharge, but they were in between the blue bolts.

"Amazing, folks! Like Pachirisu has shown off by giving us a double coloured dome of beauty. Spectacular! Lets see what our panel of judges have to say about this performance.", said Susan and pointed to the judges.

"A truly impressive performance indeed. Good job.", said Mr Contesta.

"A remarkable performance from an electric-type.", said Mr Sukizo.

"Quite a beautiful performance coming from a cute little pokemon like Pachirisu.", said Nurse Joy cheerfully.

"It was a performance that has unlocked Pachirisu's inner beauty by presenting such magnificent dedication and love.", said Wallace.

Dawn and Pachirisu then bowed down before trotting back into the waiting rooms. May went to her and congratulated her along with Max. Ursula and Ash both knew that they were much better than those two.

The Appeal Round took most of the morning. The co-ordinators that participated showed off quite well. May did use her Venusaur in the battle, Drew used Flygon, Harley used Banette, Kenny used Floatzel, Nando used Armaldo and Zoey used Gallade. Ursula had just finished her appeal with her Gabite and she looked like she passed well enough. But now, it was Ash's turn to compete. He stood behind the curtain with Pikachu on his shoulder, waiting for his name to be called out.

"And now we have our last co-ordinator for today. He has gotten very far in the contest circuit so far and has won four ribbons so far and he hopes to make the Wallace Ribbon his fifth and final ribbon. Lets all welcome, Ash Ketchum.", announced Susan.

As the duo passed through the curtains and into the stadium, they received screams from groups of girls, whistling from supporters and cheers from everyone else. In his past contests, he had always gotten huge amounts of fans and supporters, but right now, this was his biggest welcome yet.

When he made it to the trainer's box on the battlefield, Pikachu jumped off his shoulder and ran towards the judges boxes. He sat down next to Wallace's box, which surprised the co-ordinator.

"Well, Pikachu, I guess that Ash is going to use a different pokemon for the appeal, huh?", asked Wallace to the mouse.

"Pika Pika Pikachu.", replied Pikachu with a grin.

"I suppose that's a 'yes'. Why don't you jump up here next to me? You can get a better view of the show.", asked Wallace.

"Pika Pi!", said Pikachu as he jumped up to Wallace's table and sat down.

"Well, folks, it looks like Ash isn't going to be using Pikachu. That means that he is going to use a different pokemon. But who?", asked Susan to the audience.

Ash tightly gripped Ho-oh's pokeball in his hand with confidence before beginning his performance. "Ho-oh, Red Carpet!", shouted out Ash as he tossed the pokeball into the air.

At the mentioning of the name of the legendary Rainbow Pokemon, everyone's eyes suddenly lit up. Everyone exchanged glances of confusement before looking back at the performance. All wanted to see the legendary pokemon with their own eyes. The judges and Susan were especially shocked.

"Wait-what?!", said Mr Contesta.

"Did he just say Ho-oh?!", asked Wallace in surprise.

The judges and the crowd weren't the only ones that were surprised at the mentioning at Ho-oh. The co-ordinators in the waiting room had different looks on their faces. Some were confused and some were surprised.

The traitors, however, just laughed like it was some sort of joke.

"Ho-oh? Ash doesn't even have the smarts to catch a legendary pokemon. Why would he say the name of one if he knows he doesn't have one?", said Max arrogantly.

"Yeah, he's just gonna humiliate himself in front of the viewing world. What an idiot.", agreed May.

Dawn walked over to Ursula with a smirk. "Well, Ursula, it looks like your 'travelling partner' is about to humiliate himself in front of the viewing world at one of the biggest events of the year. I'll bet that all that will come out of that pokemon will be an ugly Feebas. There's no way he can ever catch a pokemon as beautiful as Ho-oh."

Ursula didn't reply. She was too busy wondering what on earth Ash was thinking.

But the traitors were about to see how wrong they really were.

When the pokeball snapped open, a dozen large rainbow streams escaped and twirled together like a tornado. As they separated, they revealed a single rainbow stream that appeared to be made of sparkles came out from within. That stream suddenly exploded, revealing the legendary Rainbow pokemon, Ho-oh.

"Screeee!", screeched out Ho-oh as she flew across the stadium. A bright rainbow followed her in her wake behind her as she glided through the air inside the stadium.

Everyone who was at the stadium and the waiting room were all completely open-mouthed with speechlessness. Outside, the viewers in the city and the entire viewing world were at the same state.

Susan finally decided to break the silence. "Folks, are my eyes deceiving me or is that really the legendary Ho-oh that Ash has just called out? Ash, are you sure this isn't a Zoroark?"

Ash just laughed at this and replied. "If it was a Zoroark, it wouldn't be able to use Sacred Fire, would it, Susan?"

At hearing this, Ho-oh suddenly fired a large fireball from her mouth and into the sky above her, and then she landed onto the battlefield. As the fireball soared higher and higher, it began to shrink in size. But then, a sudden explosion of crimson sparkles showered upon the crowd in the stadium.

There was a small silence after all the sparkles disappeared. And then came the biggest explosion of cheers, screams and yells of excitement from the crowd.

"Hooray for Ash and Ho-oh!", shouted out someone.

"Woo-hoo!", shouted someone else.

"You go, Ash!", shouted out a girl.

Inside the waiting room, all of the co-ordinators cheered loudly for Ash and Ho-oh. The traitors stayed silent. Ursula's face turned into one of happiness and relief.

"Ash, I have no idea how you have caught Ho-oh, but you have some explaining to do after the Wallace Cup is over.", she said to herself.

"Well, folks, I guess that we can all say that Ash has caught a real Ho-oh. This pokemon is said to bring eternal happiness to those who see it. And it looks like we are seeing it now.", said Susan.

"Ho-oh, how about we start our real performance for all to see?", said Ash.

"Indeed, Ash. Lets do this.", replied Ho-oh. It may have been through telepathy, but it sounded like it was actually speaking.

"And even more surprising, Ho-oh is talking through telepathy to its trainer. Ash, that is certainly a special Ho-oh you have got. How on earth did you catch it?", asked Susan.

"I did it like everyone else does. With a pokeball.", replied Ash.

Some of the crowd and the judges gave out some laughs at the joke.

"Ho-oh, lets start off our performance with a Sandstorm. And then, send a Fire Blast straight into it.", said Ash.

Ho-oh's eyes suddenly glowed blue for a split second before a tornado of sand rose up from the battlefield. It stayed in the same place before Ho-oh sent a star-shaped blast of fire into the sand tornado, which created an explosion. When the smoke cleared, an adult-sized tornado made entirely out of glass was standing right where the Sandstorm used to be.

"Now Ho-oh, you are going to have to use your keen eyes to perform this next part of the appeal. Think you can sculpt a statue of Wallace out of that glass?", asked Ash.

"No problem at all, my friend.", replied Ho-oh.

"In that case, when you are ready, use Aerial Ace with Steel Wing to do the sculpture.", said Ash in response.

She then looked at Wallace for a few seconds before rising up into the air and began to fly down again. Her wings turned into a metallic colour and she gained speed as she headed for the glass. At a blinding speed, she began to continually slash through the glass over and over again.

At last she stopped. She then landed, and at the moment she did, chunks of unwanted glass fell onto the ground with huge THUDS. A human-sized statue of Wallace stood at the middle of the glass debris. It showed him standing in his suit and hat.

The crowd began to clap and cheer in sight of the beautiful creation.

"Folks, I cannot believe this. Normally, it would've taken people hours to sculpt a statue out of glass like this, but Ho-oh has just done it in under a minute with it superior eyesight and reflexes. Let's see what the judges have to say about this miracle of a lifetime.", said Susan.

"Ash may have impressed me when he used Leavanny back in Viridian City, but his has to be by far one of the greatest shows to be ever put on, especially for a legendary pokemon. Terrific, you two.", replied Mr Contesta.

"Absloutely marvelous.", said Mr Sukizo.

"I never expected Ash to use a legendary pokemon in a contest. But he nevertheless amazed me.", said Nurse Joy.

"In all my years of being a Top Co-ordinator, never have I seen a more spectacular performance put on by a more beautiful pokemon like Ho-oh and its skilful trainer. Looks like Ho-oh is, in my opinion, the perfect pokemon for co-ordinating.", said Wallace, "But Ash? I must ask, what are you going to do with that statue?"

"Actually, Wallace, I was thinking of dedicating it to you as a monument and a symbol of your… supremacy of being a Contest Master.", replied Ash.

"Well, that's very generous of you, but where are you going to put it?", asked Wallace.

"Ho-oh, use Extrasensory to put the statue on the flat platform on the right hand-side of the stadium.", said Ash.

"Ho-oh's eyes suddenly glowed blue as she levitated the statue onto the platform Ash had described. The statue landed softly. The crowd clapped and cheered.

"Everyone, lets give one last round of applause for ash and Ho-oh!", shouted out Susan.

Again, the crowd gave a good amount of cheers for the duo as they both walked back into the waiting room. Ash decided to let Ho-oh stay out of her pokeball so he could be the first one to meet Ursula. Pikachu followed them back inside and jumped on Ash's shoulder.

The moment they entered, they were surrounded by all other co-ordinators. They all cheered out for them in excitement and congratulations, except for the traitors.

"Ash, that was AWESOME!", said Drew as he patted Ash on the back.

"Incredible, Ash. You and Ho-oh were just incredible!", said Zoey.

"Indeed, Ash. A magnificent performance with a magnificent pokemon.", said Nando.

"Ash, could I please touch Ho-oh for a second? Please?", begged Kenny.

"Sure, Kenny. Just don't be too rough.", replied Ash. Kenny stroked Ho-oh's back; the bird relaxed as she enjoyed it.

"Hun, that was not a good performance. That was an excellent performance!", praised Harley.

"Thanks, everyone.", said Ash as he and Ho-oh made their way towards Ursula, who was waiting at the back of the room. She had a look of both happiness and confusement.

"Ursula, I know I haven't told you about me having a legendary pokemon in my team, but I'll explain to you everything once the Wallace Cup is finished. How does that sound?", said Ash reassuringly.

"Ok, but don't leave out a single thing.", said Ursula. She looked completely fine now.

Ho-oh decided to introduce herself to Ho-oh. "It is a privilege to meet a travelling companion of my trainer in the flesh, Ursula."

"It is an honour to meet a pokemon as beautiful as yourself, too, Ho-oh.", said Ursula.

The traitors decided to butt in. They had looks of anger and jealousy on their faces.

"How is this possible? It is nearly impossible to catch a pokemon as rare as Ho-oh. You must have somehow poached it, didn't you, you cheater?!", said Max angrily.

The trio of heroes faced the traitors with scowls of their own. Ho-oh was not amused by his arrogance. "How dare you talk to Ash in such a manner, you arrogant little creature! He would never poach a pokemon in his life and he caught me fairly, if you must know."

The talk suddenly attracted the attention of everyone in the room. Some were confused while others glared at the traitors. And that included Drew.

"Max, if Ho-oh said that Ash caught her fairly, then she is telling the truth. What the heck is wrong with you today?", he asked in a slightly tempered voice.

"Stay out of this, bushhead!", shouted Max, "Ash is simply too stupid to catch a legendary in his life. He's definitely poach-"

But Pikachu had had enough of his small talk. "Pika Chuuu!", he shouted as he relaeased a Thunderbolt at Max, burning him like firewood. Drew smirked at this, not liked being called a bushhead.

"-Augh!", shrieked Max in pain.

"That's what a human like you deserves.", said Ho-oh in anger.

"Max!", screamed May, "You'll pay for this, you overgrown bird! When we face each other on the battlefield, I will show no mercy in defeating you."

"Yeah, we'll see just how strong that pokemon is at battling instead of performing.", said Dawn.

"Hey, leave Ash and Ho-oh alone, huns! You'll still have to get through me out there.", said Harley.

"And besides, Miss Noodle Addict and Dee Dee, your lousy Pachirisu and Venusaur are nothing compared to Ho-oh. And about what you said about Ho-oh being a Feebas, it looks like you are dumber than you look, Dee Dee.", said Ursula. Most of the co-ordinators roared in laughter. May and Dawn's faces flushed red in embarrassment and anger.

At hearing the part about being called a Feebas, Ho-oh was truly outraged. "Well, I never. You three arrogant humans are such abominations in the world today."

The traitors had heard enough, because May dragged the still unconscious Max away and Dawn followed her. Ash, Ho-oh and the other co-ordinators continued to shoot dirt looks at them.

Just then, the screen in the room suddenly lit up.

"Well, folks, we have our Final Sixteen Co-ordinators who will be advancing to the Battle Rounds. You should see them on the screen now.", said Susan.

Immediately, Ash's picture was the first one to appear. Then he was followed by Zoey, Ursula, Kenny, Nando, Drew, Harley, May, Dawn and eight others. Then the match-ups commenced. Ash was going to be against Zoey, Drew against May, Kenny against Dawn, Ursula against Harley and the other co-ordinators against each other.

"Well, Ho-oh, it looks like the real fight is about to begin. We have to give all we got if we want to win this. Are you up for it?", asked Ash.

"Of course, Ash.", replied Ho-oh.

As the battles progressed, each round was more challenging that the last. The pokemon that the contenders owned were a lot more powerful at battling then they were at performing.

In the first round, Ash easily beat Zoey, May defeated Drew, Dawn defeated Kenny, Ursula beat Harley and four other co-ordinators remained.

In the second round, the known co-ordinators went up against the others. Ash won his battle, as did May and Ursula. But Dawn was knocked out by her opponent's Claydol.

In the semi-finals, Ash had won his battle against Dawn. However, Ursula was beaten by May. May said some things that must've gotten Ursula very agitated, but she simply retaliated by calling her Miss Noodle Addict and walking away.

As Ash and May made their way towards their own trainer boxes on the battlefield for the finals, May shouted out to her opponent.

"Ash, just because you have a legendary pokemon doesn't mean you will beat me. Venusaur is more well trained and much stronger.", said May in an angered tone.

"We'll just see about that.", replied Ash.

"Alright, co-ordinators. Send out your pokemon and begin the battle. May has the first move.", announced Susan.

"Venusaur, take the stage!", cried out May when she threw her pokeball. A small storm of pink coloured petals materialised from the pokeball and fluttered in the air before disappearing and revealing the large green dinosaur-like pokemon.

"Venusaur!", it shouted.

"Ho-oh, Red Carpet!", shouted out Ash as he tossed the pokeball into the air. The same rainbow streams appeared as before and presented the Rainbow pokemon.

"Screeee!", Ho-oh screeched out loud.

"Venusaur, use Frenzy Plant!", instructed May. At that moment, giant plant vines came out of the ground and shot up at the sky towards Ho-oh.

"Ho-oh, use Protect to defend yourself. Follow it up with a Brave Bird and then use Recover to heal yourself.", said Ash.

A green barrier surrounded Ho-oh and the Frenzy Plant simply bounced off it, not doing any damage. With the advantage, Ho-oh flew up high into the air and began rushing downwards. Flames covered her for a split second before it was replaced by a blue energy. She hit Venusaur, dealing great damage. A sudden jolt of blue electricity shocked Ho-oh, showing the recoil damage. But she closed her eyes and was surrounded by a green aura, showing her recovery process. When she was done, her eyes snapped open and gave out a screech of power. She was clearly feeling much better.

"Venusaur, use Petal Dance!", said May. A barrage of pink petals headed for Ho-oh.

"Ho-oh, use Sacred Fire to counter it.", said Ash.

A fireball formed in Ho-oh's mouth and she fired it straight into the Petal Dance. The petals all burned as it passed through them. It then landed on Venusaur, blowing it a few feet away with burn marks all over its body. There were swirls in its eyes, showing it was knocked out.

"Venusaur is unable to battle. That means the victors of the Kanto Wallace Cup are the team of Ash and Ho-oh.", announced Susan.

The crowd suddenly gave out their own ways of congratulations. Some cheered, whistled, shouted, some chanted their names and some girls were going head over heels for the duo. The judges clapped for them with smiles on their faces. They then got up and made their way to the centre of the battlefield. Ash soon made his way there too and Ho-oh followed beside him.

"Ash, I honestly think that was the greatest contest that your generation had to offer.", said Mr Contesta, "and since you are about to be presented with your fifth ribbon, I expect great things from you when we meet at the Kanto Grand Festival in a few weeks time."

"Don't worry, sir. Me and my pokemon will not let you down.", replied Ash.

"Good to hear.", said Mr Contesta. Wallace then came up beside him in front of Ash with the ribbon.

"Ash, congratulations on your first Wallace Cup win. You two have definitely impressed me today and expect to see you do great at any future contests or Grand Festivals.", said Wallace as he presented the Wallace Ribbon, "It is my great honour to present you with your prize, the Wallace Ribbon."

Ash took the ribbon and smiled as he examined its beauty. "Thank you very much, Wallace. And one more thing, sir?"

"Yes, Ash?", asked Wallace.

"I'll see you at the Hoenn League sooner or later. When I win it and defeat the Elite Four there, I hope we can battle.", said Ash.

"Absolutely, my friend. I've seen the strength of some of your pokemon and want you give it all you got.", replied Wallace with glee.

"And, hopefully, we can meet once again face to face in battle.", added Ho-oh.

"Of course. " said Wallace.

After the whole Wallace Cup was finished, Ash was interviewed by a lot of people from news companies. They all wanted to know how Ash had caught a legendary pokemon like Ho-oh, what the thought on the performance and everythingelse that had to do with his appeals. It was long, but it was over eventually.

Ash and Ursula then had decided to relax for a little while before Ash would show her his pokemon team. They had a special celebration lunch at a restaurant, swam at the beach and made some Poffins and Pokeblock for the journey for the pokemon.

When Ash finally did show Ursula his team of pokemon, she was shocked to see that not only did Ash have very high-leveled pokemon, but he had more than one legendary pokemon.

Ash and Ursula had made their way into a small clearing that was within a forest that resided on the inside of the island. Ash had told her that it was only to play it safe to make sure no-one else was around, except maybe wild pokemon.

Before they left, Ursula had decided to let Ash meet all of her pokemon as well. She had earlier asked Professor Rowan to modify her pokedex and remove the limiter on how many pokemon she can carry. The professor was a little curious on why she wanted to carry so many pokemon with her at once. She explained to him that she was going to be on a long journey with Ash as her traveling partner. He accepted and transferred all her pokemon to her when she was at the Pokemon Centre.

"Ash, are we there yet?", asked Ursula.

"Yes, we are. Now, when you meet my team, don't be shocked or frightened. I can promise you that they are quite friendly and are happy to meet new people. I'm sure you will like them and they will like you.", said Ash.

Ash had decided to introduce his pokemon to her first since he had a bigger team and he wanted to surprise her. There were a lot of pokeballs for him to open but he simply spilled out them on the ground. Ursula was amazed by how many pokemon he actually had. He then used a program that was installed on his Micro-Dex so that he could bring out all of his pokemon at once and then return them afterwards. This didn't apply for Pikachu since he hated his pokeball.

"Everyone, come on out and meet some new friends.", said Ash as all his pokeballs released their own white light of energy.

At once, the pokeballs opened up and flashes of white lights came out of them. They then solidified into pokemon. Pokemon from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and the legendary pokemon of the world.

"Everyone, I want you to meet someone new who is going to be traveling with us. Some of you might already know her, but say 'hello' to Ursula.", said Ash to his pokemon as he pointed to the peach-haired girl.

"Also, we have some familiar faces with our team that you might remember, so why don't you get reacquainted with each other?", added Ash.

The regular pokemon all said their cries to Ursula. The pokemon who all could use telepathy to talk introduced themselves formally. Ursula was in mild state of shock. She couldn't believe the Ash had so many great pokemon in one place. And what surprised her even more was that there were fourteen Legendaries in front of her. She had only seen sightings on Phione in Sinnoh and read stories about them, but this was unbelievable. She was also seeing important ones like Giratina, Lugia and even Zekrom. She didn't notice that Manaphy was eyeing her with cute eyes.

"Ash, I know you already have Ho-oh, but you never told me you had fourteen of them.", said Ursula.

'I know, Ursula. I can explain everything to you. In the meantime, why don't you introduce your pokemon?", said Ash.

"Ok.", said Ursula as she took out her own pokeballs, "Come out, everyone."

Her own pokeballs produced white lights of their own and quickly solidified into her pokemon; Weepinbell, Poliwhirl, Shellder, Sandshrew, Dewgong, Wormaddam, Gabite, Jigglypuff, Plusle, Minun, Flareon, Glaceon, Vaporeon, Nidoran, Caterpie, Clefairy, Farfetch'd, Staryu, Squirtle, Tentacool, Lapras, Horsea, Goldeen, Meowth and Torterra. They all rushed to meet with Ash's pokemon and to talk, relax and get to know each other. Some water pokemon went into a nearby lake. Lugia, Manaphy, Zekrom, Ho-oh, Giratina, Latias, Jirachi and Victini followed Ash and Ursula to where they could have their conversation. Manaphy was really eager to see if Ursula could be her new Mama.

"Ash, we can help explain everything to Ursula. She seems trustworthy in our presence. Don't worry. It seems she holds no form of evil within herself and she doesn't seem to want to do anything horrible.", said Lugia.

"Thanks, Lugia.", replied Ash.

With the Legendaries, Ash explained everything to Ursula. How he truly met every legendary pokemon, what adventures he had with them in the past and what conspiracies they had overcome. Ursula listened carefully, not wanting to miss a single detail. He also explained how he defeated enemies like Hunter J, Team Aqua, Team Magma, Team Galactic and Team Plasma.

But the hardest part was when he explained he was the Chosen One. Luckily, Lugia helped Ash to tell Ursula what kind of responsibility he had in protecting the world. Ursula couldn't believe that she had actually been travelling with a hero and the most important human to all pokemon. Zekrom had also told her how Ash was also the Hero of Ideals.

Another part that he mentioned was the dream he had the night before he left Pallet town. How he was in the Hall of Origins with all the Legendaries, the talk they had and how they told him they were going to go with him. Again, the Legendaries helped explain to her. Ash also told her about his aura abilities.

"Wow, Ash, this is truly mind-blowing. All of these legendary pokemon are actually your partners? And you have met Arceus herself?", asked Ursula.

"That is correct, Ursula. The Hero of Ideals is a truly special individual who has met every single legendary in existence so far because of him being the Chosen One.", said Zekrom.

"Yeah. This is all I can tell you, Ursula. I really need you to not tell all of this information to anyone, not even your family. But the world will know eventually, just it can't be right now. It will attract unwanted attention.", said Ash.

"Don't worry, Ash. Your secret's safe with me. I won't tell anybody. But why would you tell me all of this out of all people in existence?", asked Ursula.

Ash took out the feather that Ho-oh had given him. "Receiving a feather from Ho-oh means that you will find someone in the world without a doubt. I think I have found that someone. You.", replied Ash, "and besides, the only other people that know about this are my mother and Professor Oak."

Ursula gasped. She knew Ash trusted her since they had the same goals and kept each other safe, but she was surprised that Ash trusted her without a doubt. She then came forward and hugged Ash. Ash returned the hug

"Thank you very much, Ash. I promise I won't let you down. No-one's ever put this much trust in me before.", said Ursula.

"Thanks, Ursula. Also, I think Manaphy wants to ask you something.", said Ash as he parted from the hug and pointed to Manaphy.

"Ursula, can you please be my Mama?", said Manaphy sweetly.

"Mama? What do you mean by that, sweetie?", asked Ursula in confusion.

"Ursula, May used to be Manaphy's motherly figure during one of my adventures, while I am still the fatherly figure. But ever since Manaphy found out about the betrayal, she now hates her for what she's done and wanted to find a new Mama. I think he chose you.", said Ash.

Ursula looked at Manaphy one more time before embracing him in a hug and happily saying. "Yes, Manaphy. I'll be your new Mama. You're just the cutest little thing in the world."

"Mama, Papa, I hope we can be a great happy family one day. Can we?", asked Manaphy cutely.

Ash and Ursula blushed at this. Secretly, they have been beginning to develop feelings for each other. Not because of their skills or fame, but simply because of how much they trusted and helped each other in the past Their pokemon were also getting along. The looked at each other for a second before facing Manaphy.

"Perhaps we will someday, Manaphy.", said Ash.

"Yaaayyy!", cheered Manaphy.

For the next hour, Ash, Ursula, Manaphy and the other pokemon just decided to relax and talk before heading off to their next adventure.

Xxxxx Flashback end

When the time came for the Grand Festival and the Kanto League, Ash and Ursula had never been more prepared in their lives for such events.

They had still two weeks between the Wallace Cup and the Kanto Grand Festival to get their pokemon prepared and in shape. At daytime, they had trained to improve their pokemon's strengths and advantages for the battle rounds. They both decided to use pokemon that they had newly caught in Kanto and trained them carefully. But they also kept thinking up new combination moves for individual pokemon or for double battles.

Ash had taught his some of his water pokemon how to use Glacier Crash and a few other new combos. His training had Totodile, Dratini, and Magikarp evolve into Crocognaw, Dragonair and Gyarados. Since Ash had given Gyarados plenty of attention and love when he was still a Magikarp, he didn't go on any rages or be very violent. He was instead very calm and listened to Ash. Ash had managed to teach the three of them Glacier Crash, as well as Blastoise.

Ash had invented some other moves as well. One of them was called Stellar Bomb and was probably Ash's winning knock-out move. Sadly, the move can only be used in a double performance since it required Draco Meteor, Flamethrower and Psychic for it to work. Luckily, Ash had trained Abra enough or him to evolve into Kadabra and he can use psychic. He could use only either Kadabra and Garchomp together or Dragonair and Kadabra.

Ash had also been training all of his other pokemon that he caught in Kanto too. He had managed to get, from long training hours and a couple of evolution stones, Arcanine, Magneton, Seadra, Ivysaur, Dewott, Togekiss, Fraxure, Crawdaunt, Grumpig, Scolipede and Rapidash. He also managed to help Psyduck with his headache by teaching him Calm Mind and how it can ease the pain, which evolved him into Golduck. Even the fossil pokemon were listening to Ash after some convincing.

Ursula had also been busy in preparations for the Grand Festival. She worked on some combination moves of her own and making sure her pokemon were in shape.

A new move that she had perfected was called Bomb Shower. Her Gabite had just recently evolved into Garchomp after Ash's Garchomp taught her Draco Meteor. It worked a little like Stellar Bomb, but the attack was a little different. The pokemon required were Garchomp and Wormadam. She had also trained her other pokemon so they became strong and the ones who evolved were Victreebell, Butterfree, Nidorina, Starmie, Tentacruel, Clefable and Seadra.

The Grand Festival, as always, was held at the Indigo Plateau. On the day when all the entries would close for the festival, there was a really huge turnout. There were at least a hundred co-ordinators present and the rest of the people were most likely family and friends there to cheer for them. Besides Ash and Ursula, there was May, Dawn, Harley, Drew, Zoey and Kenny.

Ash had checked the rules for the Grand Festival. The days of Appeal Rounds would depend on the number of co-ordinators and only sixty-four can proceed into the Battle Rounds. All battles in the Battle Rounds will be double battles and it is optional if you want to use the same pokemon or not. There will be five Battle rounds to determine who will be the overall winner and Top Co-ordinator.

Immediately after registering for the festival, Ash and Ursula had rented a room in the luxury apartments for the two of them. The room came with two single beds, a bathroom, a lounge room, a kitchen, a closet, and a balcony. They both agreed that it was perfect for them.

That night at the ceremony, the Grand Festival had officially begun. There was announcement that exactly a hundred and twenty-three co-ordinators had registered and were participating, and that two days will be spent for the appeals and that five days will be spent on each battle round. One the seventh day, there will be a closing ceremony that will announce the Top Co-ordinator for Kanto this year.

On day one, the appeals had begun. Sixty-two co-ordinators had done magnificent jobs in performing their own styles of appeals. May, Zoey, Nando, Harley and Ursula had performed with all of the others. May used a seemingly new Magmar that she must have caught, Zoey used a Shiftry, Nando used Roserade, Harley used Bannette and Ursula used Victreebell. She used a new combo called Leaf Love. It consisted of Razor Leaf being used and then using vine whip at rapid speed to slap them into place in the shape of a giant heart in mid-air. There was a different amount of judges at the festival. Instead of one Nurse Joy, there were three.

On the second day, it was time for the remaining sixty-one co-ordinators to do their performances. Drew, Dawn, Kenny and Ash. For his performance, Ash had used Crawdaunt. He taught him how to use a new combo called Bubble Galaxy. It had to do with standing on one leg while spinning clockwise and using Bubble Beam. The spinning will eventually cause the bubbles to form a pattern in she shape of a galaxy spiral in the air. Then to finish it of, Crawdaunt clanged a double Crabhammer against each other to form a small pulse wave that popped all the bubbles, making a sparkling view.

Drew had used his Absol, Kenny used Empoleon for their performances and did great, but Dawn's had completely backfired. When she let out Togekiss and told her to do the appeal, Togekiss had disobeyed her and didn't do a thing. She then flew in towards Dawn and grabbed her pokeball and tearing off the capsule. After that, she flew away into the air. This caused Dawn to be disqualified from the Grand Festival based on the judges' reviews. Ash must have known that Togekiss somehow known about the betrayal and decided to get payback. Ash knew Togekiss must have been heading for Princess Salvia in the Sinnoh region. The rest of the co-ordinators did their appeals and finished off the Appeals Round for the Grand Festival.

That night, an announcement was made by Mr Contesta that he and the other judges had decided on the sixty-four co-ordinators who would be advancing into the Double Battle Rounds. Ash, Ursula, May, Harley, Drew, Zoey, Nando and Kenny all passed to the Double battle rounds along with fifty-seven other co-ordinators. Dawn was so depressed that she left after she had her chance at the Grand Festival, leaving May and Max.

Ash and Ursula were both quite happy that Dawn wouldn't be getting in their way for the festival. Shaymin agreed with them since she despised Dawn.

One the third day, it was the beginning of the first battle round. The co-ordinators had their first match-ups for the day. Ash had decided to wear his new black suit for the Grand Festival while Ursula used her classic blue dress. Ash's first opponent was Zoey and Ursula's opponent was Drew. Ash had decided to go with Togekiss and Riolu while Ursula used Jigglypuff and Cloyster. Zoey used Glameow and Gallade while Drew used Flygon and Absol.

Xxxxx Flashback start

"Folks, the double battle between Ash of Pallet Town and Zoey of Snowpoint City is about to begin. Each side will use two pokemon and the battle will end when either side's points are down to zero or their pokemon are unable to battle. Co-ordinators, select you pokemon and begin the match!", spoke Susan over the microphone.

"Glameow and Gallade, Curtain!", shouted Zoey as she threw her own pokeballs. One of them spat out golden stars as it opened and revealed Glameow. The second one got a fog coming out of it that filled the battlefield. When it cleared, it revealed Gallade.

"Meowwr.", said Glameow.

"Gallade Gall!", said Gallade.

"Togekiss and Riolu, Red Carpet!", said Ash as he tossed his own. Riolu's pokeball opened and a barrage of silver sparkles rained out. Riolu appeared from within and landed on the battlefield in a kneeling position. Out of the second pokeball, pink hearts floated out in every direction and Togekiss suddenly flew out and landed beside Riolu.

"Rio Rio!", said Riolu happily.

"To Kiss Kiss!", chirped Togekiss.

"Ash, just because you have some pretty impressive pokemon doesn't mean I'm going easy on you.", said Zoey.

"I don't want you too, Zoey. And I think I'll start things off. Riolu and Togekiss, both of you use Aura Sphere on Glameow.", said Ash as he commanded his pokemon. Both created blue spheres of aura before launching them at the cat.

"How is that possible?!", exclaimed Zoey, "Riolu can't learn Aura Sphere until it evolves into Lucario. Gallade, use Night Slash to counter those Aura Spheres quickly!"

Gallade's arms suddenly grew into blades and he jumped in front of Glameow, ready to cut up the Aura Spheres. But Ash had other ideas.

"Oh no, you don't. Riolu, use Quick Attack on Gallade to get him out of the way and then use Force Palm to try and get him paralysed.", said Ash in retaliation.

Riolu dashed at Gallade's side at a super fast speed and hit him, causing Gallade some pain and pushing him out of the way. He then flattened his hand and hit Gallade in the chest with his palm. This caused Gallade to fly backwards, but when he regained his balance, he was suddenly shocked by a jolt of electricity. At this point, the Aura Sphere had successfully hit their target. Glameow was badly hurt by the two super effective attacks.

At that, Zoey's point meter on the screen lost a quarter of its full points.

"Folks, it looks bad for Zoey. Gallade has been paralyzed and Glameow has taken effective hits. But Ash's pokemon haven't taken a single hit. Could this be the end for Zoey?", said Susan in a voice of suspense.

"Glameow, can you still battle?", said Zoey. Glameow nodded.

"Alright, then. Glameow, use Thunderbolt on Gallade to power up his blades. Gallade, focus your own Thunderbolt into your blades as well and then use a full-power X-Scissor at Togekiss.", commanded Zoey.

Glameow suddenly shot yellow electricity from her body at Gallade, but it all went to his arms and began to glow in a rainbow colour. Gallade released his own Thunderbolt upon his arms and they glowed even brighter. He then crossed them in an 'x' position and launched a beam of electricity in the shape of an 'x' at Togekiss.

To Ash, this was a move that was almost the same as the one the Zoey used to defeat Dawn back in Sinnoh. It would do great damage to Togekiss, but he had the perfect counter-attack.

"Riolu, power up an Aura Sphere, but swallow instead of firing. Then use Force Palm incorporated with Bullet Punch to hit the X-Scissor. Togekiss, help him out by launching Shadow Ball!", said Ash to his faithful pokemon.

Riolu's left paw suddenly turned into a metallic colour and sparked with a little electricity, showing the successful combo. He then jumped in front of the incoming attack and got ready to counter it. Togekiss launched a Shadow Ball from her wings and shot it at the X-Scissor. When it collided, the Shadow Ball was too weak to completely nullify the attack, but it looked like it made the X-Scissor weaker and less powerful-looking. At the blink of an eye, Riolu pounded his metal paw against X-Scissor. The result was that the move exploded into a rainy day of rainbow raindrops and electricity crackled through the air. But Riolu looked fine.

The entire audience was open mouthed. Ash had just nullified a move that was certain to have knocked out one of his pokemon with such ease. Another quarter of Zoey's point meter went off the chart. Zoey was starting to get really anxious.

"Folks, this is an impressive battle so far. Ash has managed a completely negate two attacks from Zoey while at the same time dealing damage to her pokemon and not taking a single hit.", announced Susan.

All of a sudden, an all too familiar light blue aura surrounded Riolu. As he began to grow in height, his limbs also grew longer, his ears became larger, and some new features began to take shape. When the aura broke away, there was no longer a Riolu, but a powerful-looking Lucario.

"Alright, Lucario, you evolved. Congratulations! I'm proud of you.", said Ash.

"Thanks, Ash. It's because I had a great trainer like you.", replied Lucario as he faced his trainer and smiled.

"That's great that Riolu evolved, Ash, but this battle isn't over.", interrupted Zoey as Ash suddenly remembered the battle, "Glameow, use Thunderbolt on Togekiss, and Gallade, use Focus Blast on Lucario."

Glameow suddenly released a discharge of yellow electricity that was soon fired

"I bet to differ, Zoey. Guys, lets finish this off quickly. First dodge those attacks. Togekiss, hit Gallade with Sky Attack at full speed. Lucario, use Close Combat repeatedly while doing Extremespeed on Glameow."

Both of them narrowly dodged the attacks coming from their enemies. Togekiss then charged in from the sky and hit Gallade with much power. Lucario was moving at the most fastest of paces while punching rapidly at Glameow from all directions and angles. They both then went back to their side of the battlefield and waited for the results of their attacks. At that moment, Glameow and Gallade fell to the floor in exhaustion and with swirls in their eyes, cleanly knocked out by the super effective attacks.

"Glameow and Gallade are unable to battle. That means Lucario and Togekiss win and the victory goes to the team of Ash.", said Susan.

Cheers erupted from the stands as the audience congratulated Ash and his pokemon for a great battle. Zoey went up to Ash and the two shook hands after she returned her pokemon. Togekiss and Lucario followed their trainer with smiles on their faces.

"That was an intense battle, Ash. You did exceptionally since you defeated the two pokemon that I used to defeat Dawn. But I must ask, where did you get a Riolu that can use Aura Sphere?"

"He belonged to someone else in the Sinnoh region, but we became friends after I saved him from a thief. Lucario's old keeper sent him to me not too long ago so I can be his new trainer.", replied Ash.

"Good for you, Ash. Well, I hope you do well for the rest of the Grand Festival.", said Zoey.

"Thanks, I will.", replied Ash.

For the rest of that day, things went well. Ursula won her battle as Ash had, May won her match with Skitty and Wartortle, Harley won his with Cacturne and Ariados, Nando won with Armalo and Lopunny, but Kenny lost his. This allowed them to gain progress into the next battle round.

After all the other battles ended, Ash had decided to do some more aura training with Lucario and some more training with his other pokemon for the remainder of the Grand Festival and the upcoming Kanto League. His aura abilities have been improving lately since he was now starting to sense things around him from a very short distance. During his training with his pokemon, some more had managed to evolve. They were Alakazam, Gengar, Feraligatr, Pupitar, Lopunny, Gigalith and Zoroark. Others had learned some new moves. After Ash finished his overall training, he had decided to practice some more combo moves with Ursula since they were friends, not rivals.

One the day of the second battle rounds, Ash had decided to use Floatzel with Pikachu against a co-ordinator who used a Combusken and a Noctowl. Ash had beat him easily because of a new combo move he used. It was called Electric Glacier Crash. It was basically the original Glacier Crash, except the Whirlpool had to be electrified using Thunderbolt before it was frozen. The contained electricity within the glacier shocked Noctowl into fainting while the impact with the whole thing on Combusken caused him to faint too. He wasn't quick enough because the glacier was hit with a double Iron Tail.

Ursula had won her battle as well against another co-ordinator with her Lapras and Victreebell against someone who had a Honchkrow and a Bellossom. She had invented a new combo move called Leaf Blizzard. It involved using a Razor Leaf barrage at top speed towards the enemy while using Blizzard to freeze them rapidly into shards of ice with leaves in them.

After they had their turns, May, Harley and Nando had still managed to win their battles. All their victories had gotten them into the Top 8 of the Grand Festival so far, but were determined to do better.

During the third day of the of the battle rounds, Ash had used Pikachu and Zoroark to win his battle against a co-ordinator who used a Gothorita and a Croconaw. Again, he devised a new combo move called Darkbright Thunder which consisted of Dark Pulse and Thunderbolt being put together.

Ursula had her battle with Garchomp and Glaceon against Nanado and won, May won her battle with Skitty and a seemingly new Vaporeon, but Harley finally met his maker when he got defeated by another co-ordinator.

Ash, Ursula, May and a co-ordinator named Mikey were in the Final 4 Semi-Finals that were going to be held in the next two days. Ash was going up against May while Ursula was battling against Mikey.

That very next day, Ash had his battle first with May.

Xxxxx Flashback Start

"The semi-finals match between Ash of Pallet Town and May of Petalburg City will now begin. Each trainer will use two pokemon for their double battle. Without further adew, release your pokemon and begin the battle!", announced Susan.

"Magmar and Fearow, take the stage?", shouted out May as she threw her pokeballs. One snapped open to reveal flames while the other blew silver feathers in the wind. They then both revealed a blazing Magmar and a mean-looking Fearow. But at the moment Fearow saw Ash, he began to screech in anger. He even wanted pierce his neck at him, but held his ground position.

"Feear!", screeched Fearow.

"Magmar!", shouted out Magmar.

Ash was confused at why Fearow looked angry at him at first, but then realised that it was someone he knew. It was the same Fearow from Viridian Forest that has a grudge against him because of the 'rock incident' at the beginning of his journey. But Ash knew exactly how to deal with him.

"Pidgeot and Spiritomb, Red Carpet!", said Ash as he tossed his own. The first one seemed to have released at least a hundred little purple souls with scary faces on them while the other send out a tornado with brown autumn leaves. The next moment, Spiritomb and Pidgeot materialized. When Pidgeot and Fearow locked eyes , they growled and gave each other death glares.

"Pidgeoooo!", screeched Pidgeot.

"Spiritooomb!", spoke out Spiritomb in a ghastly voice.

May seemed a little intimidated at seeing Spiritomb.

"Fearow, use Drill Peck at Spiritomb and Magmar, use Flamethrower at Pidgeot!", commanded May.

Fearow's beak grew in size and charged straight at Spiritomb while Magmar blasted a wave of flames from his mouth at Pidgeot.

"Spiritomb, dodge that Drill Peck and Pidgeot, use Rain Dance to weaken that Flamethrower and then use Brave Bird!", said Ash.

Spiritomb quickly dodged the incoming Drill Peck while Pidgeot seemed to have summoned a rainy weather from the sky and now droplets of water were raining upon the battlefield. The rain extinguished the Flamethrower and Magma looked a bit surprised. But what he didn't expect was the sudden attack from a physical bolt of blue from behind. He fell down on the ground but soon got back up, shaking off the pain like it was mud. Pidgeot was suddenly hit with recoil damage, but got back into stance.

"Wow, folks. Looks like Ash's pokemon not only managed to avoid getting hit, but Pidgeot had managed to hit Magmar with some heavy damage.", said Susan.

May's point meter suddenly went down a little bit. May growled in anger at her opponent, but kept her cool and thought of a way to counter-attack.

"Spiritomb, use Dark Pulse on Magmar, but use Psychic on the rings to hit him until they are gone. Pidgeot, use Steel Wing on Fearow while using Heatwave.", said Ash.

Spiritomb suddenly fired the Dark Pulse, but he quickly used Psychic to take the rings purple rings out of the attack like numbers from an equation. The dark energy hit Magmar, but the rinds were repeatedly hitting him to no and and started to look tired. Fearow felt the same was as he kept on being hit with multiple red-hot Steel Wings. The points of May's meter were also going down at a fast rate. As well as that, there was 1:23 left on the clock.

"You two, get out of there!", panicked May. Her two pokemon suddenly dodged their attacks. "Lets finish them off with your best individual attacks. Fearow, attack Pidgeot with Sky Attack fused with Steel Wing. Magmar, combine Flare Blitz with Giga Impact and head for Spiritomb."

Fearow was suddenly encloaked in a white energy and charged at Pidgeot while, at the same time, his wings became a metallic colour. Magmar was covered in flames before he charged with much speed towards Spiritomb.

Ash wasn't about to let May take his rightful victory. " Pidgeot, infuse Twister with Hurricane. Spiritomb, use Psychic to split a Dark Pulse!"

Pidgeot firstly summoned a tornado and then a giant storm combined with it to for a powerful aerial natural disaster. Fearow and Magmar were both caught in the storm and were thrown through the air out of control. Spiritomb fired a Dark Pulse at first, but then it was split into two, each half heading for a separate target. When they hit, the storm suddenly came to a standstill and the two pokemon fell to the ground. With swirls in their eyes.

"Magmar and Fearow are unable to battle. That mean the first winners of the semi-finals match is the team of Ash of Pallet Town.", said Susan.

"Alright, you guys did it. Now we are on our way to the Final 2.", said Ash as he praised his pokemon. They gave our their own shouts of victory.

Xxxxx Flashback End

After Ash had finished his battle with May, she left straight away to be away from any embarrassment. Ash though that she must have caught Magmar as a way to replace Blaziken. He still didn't know how she would replace, but he will at some point.

He felt pretty good for his win against May, but the same couldn't be said for Ursula. She had used her Garchomp and Clefable to battle against Mikey, but the guy had a Metagross and a Volcarona that he used to defeat her. They were two extremely high-leveled pokemon who evolved at very late stages, so that meant he was a very experienced co-ordinator who was bound to have more powerful pokemon like the Iron Leg and Sun pokemon.

Xxxxx Flashback Start

Ash and Ursula were hanging out at a small restaurant during lunchtime. They were eating their meals as they talked about tomorrows match and what plans Ash could have to beat Mikey.

"So, Ash the first thing that you should decide is which pokemon you are going to use for your finals battle tomorrow.", said Ursula.

"I know. All of my pokemon are really good, but there are just so many choices and my pokemon are all special in their own ways. But there is no telling which pokemon Mikey is going to use. I think I'll have to use some of my most powerful, but they also need to have good appeal moves.", replied Ash.

"Who did you have in mind?", asked Ursula.

"Well, right now I have to decide between Krookodile, Sceptile, Charizard, Floatzel, Garchomp Infernape, Staraptor and Lucario since they are my current choices. What do you think in your opinion?", asked Ash.

"Well, using Garchomp would be a little risky since mine got defeated. But my best guess is Krookodile, since he looks cool in those glasses of his, and Sceptile because he is fast and graceful.", replied Ursula.

"Then it's settled. I'll use those two.", said Ash. Ursula giggles.

"Hey, Ash, just why does Krookodile wear those glasses?", asked Ursula in wonder.

"Back in Unova, Krookodile used to be the leader of a gang of Sandiles. Without his glasses, he goes a little scared.", replied Ash.

Later on that day, in the evening, Ash decided to have a meeting with his two chosen teammates for tomorrow. Ursula was already in the apartment while Ash, Sceptile and Krookodile were still outside.

"Well, guys, tomorrow is the day to decide it all. Tomorrow we will either be going as winners of the Grand Festival or the second placers. I have chosen you because you both have your own unique character. As well as that, you both seem to like battling strong opponents.", explained Ash.

Both of his pokemon listened carefully, not wanting to miss a single detail of tomorrow's match.

"Our opponent, Mikey, sounds like he's an experienced co-ordinator. Today, he used a Metagross and Volcarona to beat Ursula, which means he's bound to have more powerful pokemon. Those are the kind we like to fight, right?", said Ash.

"Tile!", said Sceptile.

"Krookodile.", agreed Krookodile.

The next day, there was a huge turnout at the stadium. The judges and Susan were at the side of the battlefield, people were crowded at the bleachers, and lastly, the two finalists were in their trainer boxes on the battlefield. Ash was wearing his black suit while Mikey was wearing an aqua-blue tuxedo.

"So I finally get to battle you, Ash. Not bad for a new co-ordinator to get this far in the Grand Festival. And I was impressed at the Wallace Cup. I want you to give it your all today because I am not that easy to beat. Good luck.", said Mikey with a smile.

"Thanks, Mikey. You seem like the kind of person who trains hard; and I like that. Good luck to you too.", replied Ash.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like today is the day that decides it all. Ash and Mikey, along with their pokemon, have performed and battled brilliantly to get to this point, but there can only be one winner by the end of today. Only one will be named this year's Kanto Top Co-ordinator. Let's give them a round of applause for their excellent efforts.", said Susan.

The crowd within the stadium blasted out their cheers and applauds. Some held out posters and banners for their favourites, while some girls were saying things of affection.

"So, without further delay, lets begin the battle. The finals battle between Ash of Pallet Town and Mikey of Lumiose City will now begin. Each co-ordinator can use two pokemon and the battle will be over when either side's pokemon will be unable to battle or when the timer runs out. Co-ordinators, select your pokemon.", said Susan.

"Meowstic and Trevenant, Spook'em!", said Mikey as he threw his two pokeballs. The first one released a storm of golden stars while the other sent black clouds to cover Mikey's field. They joined together to form the appearance of a night sky.

Ash was really confused as to what pokemon he was referring to. He had never heard of those names, which means they were from a different region. 'They must be from Kalos', thought Ash to himself.

When the clouds cleared, there were two pokemon. The first resembled a feline-like creature. It was floating in mid-air with bright green eyes and its body is covered on dark blue and white patterns.

The second pokemon looked really scary. It resembled a big tree. It was standing on its roots and it had two large branches on either sides of its body which looked like its arms. Some black patches were present on its joints and body, leaves were sprouting on the top of it like a regular tree, but the face was the scariest part. The was one large black eye in the middle with a red pupil in the middle. Its mouth was black and looked like it had sharp teeth.

"Trevenant!", said Trevenant.

"Meow Meow!", said Meowstic softly.

"Hey, Ash in case you are wondering, these two pokemon are from the Kalos region. Their names are Meowstic and Trevenant. Meowstic is a Psychic-type and Trevenant is a dual ghost-type and grass-type.", explained Mikey.

"Thanks, I've heard about Kalos.", said Ash before releasing his pokemon, "Sceptile and Krookodile, Red Carpet!"

Sceptile's pokeball released a green tornado while Krookodile's threw up small boulders complete with some wind. The two pokemon appear at that moment when the tornado and boulders disappeared.

"Sceptile!", said Sceptile as he lowered his arms.

"Krookodile!", shouted Krookodile as he adjusted his sunglasses and gave out the two fingered peace sign.

"And Mikey has decided to go with his Meowstic and Trevenant while Ash has decided to go with his Sceptile and Krookodile. Co-ordinators, begin the battle!", said Susan as the five minutes on the clock began to count down.

Krookodile was the one who began the battle since he gave out a small startling roar at his opponents. Trevenant and Meowstic were just then surround by a red aura for a split second before returning to normal.

"And Krookodile's Intimidate ability lowers the attack power of his opponents. A great start for Ash.", said Susan as a little of Mikey's point meter went down a little.

"Meowstic, use Magical Leaf on Krookodile. Trevenant, use Will-O-Wisp on Sceptile.", commanded Mikey. Trevenant used his hands to form out little blue balls of flames and launched them at Sceptile while Meowstic blasted at Krookodile a small army of glowing green leaves.

"Krookodile, counter that Magical Leaf with Stone Edge, while Sceptile, use the same process on Will-o-Wisp with Leaf Storm.", said Ash. Sceptile shot a storm of leaves at the blue flames, extinguishing each one as they passed. Krookodile's Stone Edge shredded through the Magical Leaf. What was left of the counter-attacks hit Trevenant and Meowstic, doing some damage. This caused the Mikey's point meter to go down a little more to three quarters. On the clock it read 4:23.

"And Ash makes his special counter-attack combos once again. Things look bad for MIkey. Can he make a comeback?", said Susan as Trevenant got back up.

"Krookodile, use Dragon Claw on Trevenant, and Sceptile, use Agility with Leaf Blade on Meowstic.", said Ash.

Krookodile suddenly began to rapidly charge at Trevenant with claws glowing in blue while Sceptile took off at a tremendous speed with the leaves on his arms glowing green.

"Trevenant, use Phantom Force on Sceptile. Meowstic, dodge that Leaf Blade and hit Krookodile with a Hyper Beam.", said Mikey in retaliation and confidence.

A spiralling black hole suddenly appeared underneath Trevenant and he disappeared into it, and it then closed. Krookodile Stopped dead in his tracks, shocked at his opponent's sudden disappearance. Meowstic instantly floated even higher into the air, just narrowly missing the incoming razor sharp leaves. He then powered up an orange beam form his mouth and fired it. It hit Krookodile square in the chest, sending him flying backwards a few meters on the battlefield. Meanwhile, Sceptile was still on the lookout for Trevenant. Trevenant suddenly floated out of the ground behind Sceptile from the same black hole. Sceptile was just beginning to turn around when Trevenant collided against his back, making Sceptile fall back on his back.

"And Mikey makes a terrific return in this battle as he's managed to temporarily turn around the tide. Both sides are looking tired, but are not giving in.", said Susan. Ash's point meter dropped to slightly below Mikey's and the timer now read 3:51.

Sseptile and Krookodile were soon back on their feet, not wanting to give up.

"Alright, guys. Are you still OK to continue?", said Ash; his pokemon gave nods. "That's great, you two."

"Trevenant, Meowstic, lets finish this. Trevenant, first use Sunny Day and then fire a Solar Beam at Krookodile. Meowstic, send a rapid-fire Focus Blast at Sceptile."

While Trevenant sent a small sun in to the sky, Meowstic began to send blue orbs directly at Sceptile. Trevenant then released a beam of green energy at Krookodile. 'These moves are guaranteed to give me victory.', thought Mikey.

The clock now read 3:39.

"Sceptile, use Frenzy Plant to block all those Focus Blasts and then use them to hold Meowstic in place. When you feel recharged again, hit him with your own Solar Beam. Krookodile, use Dig to evade that Solar Beam and use Crunch on Trevenant. If he's still standing, use Outrage.", said Ash.

Mikey was completely taken off his guard when he heard this. "Unbelievable. I know my pokemon are strong, but his are capable of much better things."

Sceptile gave a loud stomp on the ground before a huge array of thorned vines sprouted in front and protected him. He suddenly fell onto one knee, feeling weak, but wanting to go on. Krookodile started to use his claws to dig a big hole in the ground; the Solar Beam missing its mark. He suddenly burst out of the ground without warning, his teeth glowing white, and bit right down on Trevenant's arm and swung him right down on the ground. He groaned in pain, but still got back up. Meanwhile, Sceptile felt greatly refreshed and jumped into the air. When he caught sight of Meowstic all tangled up within the vines, he used the still-active Sunny Day to quickly fire his own Solar Beam. When it hit Meowstic, an explosion occurred and smoke covered the entire scene and Krookodile's battle. With Krookodile, he was covered in a purple aura, showing the activation of Outrage. He began thrashing Trevenant with his body, head and claws.

When the smoke cleared, the battle was over. Meowstic was no longer floating and Trevenant wasn't on his roots. They were completely slumped on the ground, with swirls in their eyes.

"And there you have it. With only 3:01 left on the clock, Trevenant and Meowstic are unable to battle. That means that victory goes to Sceptile and Krookodile and the Kanto Top Co-ordinator for this year is Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town.", said Susan with joy in her voice.

At this moment, a mixture of emotions were going through Ash's head. He had just won the Kanto Grand Festival on his first try at his new co-ordinating career while all his other former traveling companions hadn't won any yet. He knew that if he kept on training well, he could win all regional Grand Festivals in no time. With some help from Ursula, of course.

The crowd were cheering for him. They were all chanting his name, some were admiring his pokemon and clapping. The judges clapped with smiles on their faces. Mikey returned his pokemon and walked up to

"Well, Ash, it looks like you have won the Grand Festival this year. Congratulations.", said Mikey as he shook Ash's hand. Ash returned the handshake.

"Thank you, Mikey. You did exceptionally well yourself. It was really great to battle a co-ordinator as strong as you,", said Ash, "and I hope we can battle someday again."

"That is something that will be guaranteed, my friend. I guess I'll be seeing you around sometime.", said Mikey as he turned to leave.

"Yeah. I'll see you later.", said Ash as he waved to his friend. Mikey waved back before going through the curtain to the waiting room.

"Ash, would you come with your pokemon to the centre of stage to meet with the judges?", said Susan.

Ash, Sceptile and Krookodile walked up to the centre as they were told. There, Mr Sukizo, Nurse Joy, Susan and Mr Contesta were waiting for him. Mr Contesta was holding a polished gold coloured trophy that looked like any regular one, but it had a turquoise and white ribbon embedded on the front of it with a pokeball picture in the middle.

"Well, Ash, congratulations on winning your first Grand Festival. You should be proud of yourself and your pokemon since you work together to bring out their elegance, power and beauty.", said Mr Contesta.

"I am and thank you, sir. I don't plan on stopping anytime soon and I'll be sure to win every regional Grand Festival.", said Ash.

"Well said.", replied Mr Contesta gladly, "So I hereby present to you your token of proof for winning the Grand Festival, the Kanto Ribbon Cup."

As Ash received the trophy from Mr Contesta, Susan made her final Grand Festival announcement. "Well there you have it, folks. This has been a very delightful Grand Festival this year. But before we conclude it, lets give out one last great round of applause to this year's Kanto Top Co-ordinator, Ash Ketchum."

Back at Pallet Town, Delia, Professor Oak and Tracy were watching the Grand Festival through at the Ketchum residence.

Tracy heard form Professor Oak and Delia about what Ash's former friends said about him, he was angry. He thought that he was a great trainer and was impressed when he defeated Drake back at the Orange Islands.

Ever since Tracy came back from a holiday in Johto and Ash had entered his first contest, they had been watching all of Ash's performances and were truly happy, especially Delia. When they saw the Wallace Cup and Ho-oh being used, Professor Oak was amazed by the power that Ho-oh possessed.

But now they more proud than ever to see Ash as the Kanto Top Co-ordinator for this year. Delia had tears in her eyes of joy for her son.

Back at the Indigo Plateau, a certain trio of Team Rocket agents were watching from the stands in disguises as Ash got his trophy and was continually harassed with newspeople, fans and camera flashes.

What Ash didn't know was that they have been watching all of his contests, the Wallace Cup and now the Grand Festival.

Jessie was truly outraged and jealous by this. She had almost two years of experience of co-ordinating in Sinnoh, Kanto and Hoenn, but Ash had less than a year and he had just won something she could never could. The title of Top Co-ordinator. It was like pure torture to see her enemy take something that she thought she rightfully deserved.

"That should be me down there. The twerp doesn't deserve the title. I'm a great actress and an experienced co-ordinator unlike him. Why is it that he gets all the fame while I get the cold shoulder?", said Jessie.

"Jessie, I hate to admit this to you, but Ash, right now, is a lot more experienced at any form of pokemon battling and co-ordinating than you ever have been. With his growing team and support from Ursula, he'll go very far. The way I see it, you are not an experienced co-ordinator, actress or anything famous. You are nothing more than just a complete phoney.", said Kaleb calmly.

Jessie turned in his direction and growled. Nobody had ever called her a phoney before and that was insultive to her reputation.

The trio then left the stadium, but Jessie was looking forward to hitting Kaleb

Ash held the trophy up high as the crowd started to cheer. Some news reporters and photographers went up to him to interview him, and take pictures of him with his pokemon. Some kids and fans were coming up to him for autographs.

After about an hour, everyone was gone and the stadium was silent. Ash and Ursula were beginning to walk from the stadium on the dirt road back to Pallet Town. With his trophy in hand and his pokemon to thank for, Ash was happy.

"Congratulations again, Ash.", said Ursula.

"Thank you again, Ursula.", said Ash with a laugh.

"So, Ash? What are we going to do now? The Kanto League isn't for another month.", asked Ursula.

"I'm going to take you to Pallet Town. I was wondering if you wanted to meet my mom and Professor Oak. It's really great there.", replied Ash.

"That would be great.", said Ursula.

"In that case, to Pallet Town."

Everyone, a small announcement.

I'm very sorry that this story took so long. I was in Russia on holiday for three weeks and had no access to my story. The next eleven chapters will be the 5000-25000 words and will take a lot less time to update unlike this chapter, perhaps fortnightly or every three weeks. I'll be sure to update much quicker. I like going into detail. But all this waiting will make it all worth it.

Also I need the help from anyone who likes my story.

I found out about the mega latias, sceptile, metagross, and swampert . Should I include them?
