Hello kitties!
Look, I know I've practically neglected this story, but I'm kind of not feeling it anymore, but then again I owe it to all of you to continue, so I'm gonna write like I am ?
So, here's the next chapter.
Enjoy, and E is for Escape!
I almost ran into a tree back there, but the sound of him roaring out my name helped me dodge it.
Where the hell was Stefan? We promised each other that we'd protect each other, which is a group effort.
Especially since I attract a lot of danger. I might as well have a sign on my back that says "free supernatural bait!"
I dodged yet another tree. I need to make it back to my car so I can book I out of here the right way. Running isn't going to cut it right now. Because when he eventually heals, he's going to want to use vamp speed and catch me.
It's not like he wants to kill me, but he was compelled against his will to do so without any second thoughts.
"But let's make this game a little more interesting, shall we?" Klaus said circling around. We stood in the middle of the road. We were actually running from Klaus as an attempt to get me out of town before he found out the truth about my blood was his ultimate ingredient in making hybrids.
Klaus walked up to Damon and looked into his eyes. He was compelling him.
"When that nasty wound of yours heals,"
Damon looked away and looked down at himself. "What nasty-"
Klaus stabbed him with a wooden stake through his stomach, making him grunt in pain. "Now, when it does, you will turn off that pesky switch of yours and kill her."
"Klaus, stop!" I shorted. He held up a hand at me and that creepy smirk of his crossed his face.
"Now, now love, don't want to rile him up and make this death quicker, do we."
I looked at Klaus like he was a psycho, which he is, and then back at Damon. He was staring at me like he wanted to kill me.
"I'd run if I were you, because your time starts now."
So here I was, running from him.
And to make matters worse, I don't even know where I'm going. I was hoping that past these trees was my car waiting on me.
"Elena!"
He was calling for me again. I figured as long as he was doing so, he still had his humanity in tact.
I keep running and eventually I trip over a stone and fall to the forest floor. I cringe in pain as I realize that I scraped my knee. Bad enough to rip my jeans.
I stifle my shriek in pain when I realize that it wasn't a scrape, a stone had gashed my leg.
I try to get up, but it hurt to badly. Silence meets my ears.
Which isn't a good sign.
If I call out for him, he'll find me in a second. My blood is already a good enough signal anyway. He'll smell it even if he was miles away.
I scan over the forest scenery around me to see if he was around. I tried to listen out for him, but came up short.
Suddenly, I'm pressed up against a tree, forced to stand on my injured leg, and looking into the eyes of Stefan Salvatore. He presses a finger to his lips to signal that we should stay quiet. I mouth "he's going to kill me."
He nods at me and looks around him. When he sees that the coast is clear, he picks me up bridal style and starts walking towards what I hope is the direction of my car.
Without warning, I'm on the ground again. The sound of someone snapping someone's neck rings through my ears. I look up to see Damon standing over Stefan's unconscious body and shaking his head.
"Bummer, I knew you were hoping for him to carry you off into your happily ever after." He starts stalking over towards me. I scooch away with every step.
"Can't always get your way, can you?" My back hits another tree and I breathe heavily as he kneels down in front of me. I send a slap at his face and his head jerks to the side. He clenches his jaw and looks at me with his eyes a stormy gray.
"Lucky shot, princess. It won't happen again." He says.
"Damon, you don't have to do this." I breathe. He strokes my cheek as I speak to him.
"You know, I'm glad I don't have my humanity. Humanity me sucked. He played around with his brother's girl, tried to me a better guy just to win her over when in reality, she just needed to die."
"Damon that's not true-"
"Oh, but on the contrary, it is. If you were dead, I wouldn't need to have my humanity, and Stefan would be back to his lonely broody self where his only worry was if his big bro was going to kill someone that day. It'd be a reality where you didn't exist like before." Veins appeared under his blood red eyes as his fangs jetted out. "Good thing I'm here to make it happen."
He looks in my eyes. "Don't scream or move. Can't have people coming to look for you."
My mind wants to scream and move, but my body won't. I've never been compelled, not like this. I can't help but feel betrayed as he bites into my neck. I feel all my life slowly pour out of me and into him.
"Damon, stop." I squeak. "Please."
He bites deeper into my neck, making me want to scream in pain.
"Damon, you're hurting me."
The dark forest around me suddenly blurs. My vision begins to slowly slip away.
"Damon stop, you're hurting me..."
I can't help but feel as if all hope is lost. My help is lying unconscious on the forest floor. No one could hear me for miles.
I'm doomed.
"Motus!"
Damon is immediately thrown away from me and crashes into a tree. Bonnie rushes to my side and looks over my injuries.
Damon has Bonnie pinned to a tree in a blur.
"Klaus..." Bonnie whispers in fear, seeing the compulsion in his eyes just as he lunges for her throat.
He nips her a bit, but she has him on the ground in seconds roaring in pain from a witchy migraine.
"You should know by now not to come at me, Damon. I know you're in there. You wouldn't do this. Don't do this." She gets down on her knees in front of him just as Stefan wakes up. He immediately runs over to me and sees my neck wound. He feeds me his blood and I take it willingly. He and I both watch in wonder at what Bonnie does next.
She grabs his head with both hands and presses her thumbs to his temples.
"Exsindium Miara!" She shouts and a small ring of fire circles them. She whispers more words in Wiccan and Damon doesn't move a muscle. Within seconds, Bonnie collapses on the ground in front of Damon, who's eyes are wide in wonder and slight fear.
"Bonnie!" He grabs her by the shoulders and shakes her. "Hey, come on, get up!"
No response from her.
"Bonnie!" I say as tears cascade down my face I run to her side with Stefan close behind me. "What did you do to her?" I demand looking at Damon.
"Nothing! She picked through my mind with her magic and erased the compulsion, but...I don't know what happened to her." Damon says worriedly.
"She's not breathing." Stefan says sadly.
I place hand over my mouth to stifle back a sob.
"Bonnie..." I say as I remove my hand and break down in sobs. "I hate him. I hate him, guys he...he killed Bonnie!"
Damon looks as if he's having a mental war in his mind and Stefan looks just as grim as he does.
Bonnie suddenly sits up and inhales deeply. She looks around at the three of us with wide eyes and tries to catch her breath.
"I did it." She says with surprise etching her every feature.
"Oh my gosh, Bonnie!" I throw my arms around the shoulders of my best friend and continue to cry and laugh. "Don't ever do that again!"
Bonnie laughs with me and tears fall from her green eyes as sr hugs me back.
"Welcome back, Bennett." Damon says with a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes.
"How'd you do it?" Stefan asks curiously. "You broke the compulsion of an original."
"It wasn't easy. I knew I had little time, so searched through his recent memories an erased the compulsion." Bonnie says with a smile. "After this one, the witches are going to kill me,but it was worth it."
I laugh and sob all over again. "Don't do that to us. I thought you died."
"I'm here, Elena. Don't worry." She cooes. "Its fine. We need to get you home before Klaus finds out that you're still alive."
"Right, I don't want anyone else getting hurt." We help each other up and walk towards my car. Damon hangs back to speak to me.
"We need to talk." He say.
"It's nothing to worry about, I'm fine now and so is Bonnie." I kiss him on his cheek and let it linger there for a few seconds.
When I stop the kiss, I cup his cheek in my hands. "We just need to be more careful."
"Alright."
