Chapter 5
A New Beginning... of War
As always, the Goddess of Nature ignored the presence of the Hero. They were first enemies, then joined forces, enemies, friends and now... she wasn't so sure. It was getting irritating switching back and forth, hate and love. Well the kid WAS in her palace and no one attacked him, Viridi didn't even do anything. Perhaps all is well and.. wait, WAIT A DARN MINUTE. Viridi, Goddess of Nature! Hatred towards humans and the mistress of the living green! What has happened to that fire and spirit? Where did all the hate go?
"Hey Princess! I bet you my dinner that I could pick this up." Pit, clearly bored, was staring at the Goddess's work, is determined to lift a giant clay pot with a truck load of damp soil inside.
This angel annoyed the heck out of her, but taught her to enjoy life a little more. He was the one who interrupted her plans and showed her how to scare Pittoo when he's meditating. Pit, servant to the Goddess of Light, lead Viridi to believe there is hope in the darkness and even though Pit can't fly well on his own, he still defeated Medusa AND Hades. Talk about MLG here, geez the kid's a natural. When Viridi thought about it, she would be all alone if he wasn't here. Sure she had Arlon and Phosphora but, it was never the same company when Pit was with her.
"Viridi...? Are you alright?" He abandoned the pot and laid a hand on the Goddess's shoulder. "Hey rest up, I think you been behind the desk for way too long." As the girl kept thinking about the situation, Pit lead her out of the working chambers to the path outside.
The sun was setting, off in the distance and sinking into the thick layer of heavenly clouds. The color seeped through, filling the skies of gold and orange. And above was slowly darkening, tiny stars here and there with the moon appearing high and bright. What Pit admired the most about Viridi's gardens is how everything was so lush, overflowing with life and beauty. The simple things like the color of the flowers even caught his eye, they were arranged in patterns throughout all her grounds, little flowers filling in the spaces between trees and large plants. Branches grown reaching out and creating shade or a breathtaking view of the sun shining behind the leaves and fruit. Shrubs and bushes trimmed to perfect the scenery. Creatures roaming freely both to benefit the plants around and their own little community. The tripping of water and rivers are always heard, and most of all Pit loved how peaceful everything was.
They walked into a corridor, surrounding themselves with tree bark walls and fallen leaves. It came to Pit's attention that something wasn't right... glancing at the Goddess before keeping an eye around. The two then came to an opening, descending the moss covered stone steps. The breeze no longer blew and the waters were not heard. Pit grew uneasy, occasionally looking over his shoulder.
"Don't worry, I had this place specially built to block off the wind and the sounds outside. It's more peaceful." The short walls around were cloaked with twisted vines and life, surrounding the tree at the center. Everything with water sparkling underneath. Flat rocks lighten the path to the Goddess's sleeping chambers. Strong lily pads here and there accompanied by long stalks of grass patches. The tree was basically the area to sleep, the roots stretch out along reaching the vine walls. The thick ones nearest the tree, served as uneven stepping up top the trunk. "There is where I rest, I apologize for the trouble Pit."
"Something isn't right..." The angel searched, ignoring her words. The moonlight above sinked through the leaves casting shadows and clear reflections on the water. The two paused, standing silently on the stone path. At one moment, Pit caught sight of the moon. The reflection of it staining the water. The next moment he saw his own image, mirroring his every move... studying it for only a breath more... his own reflection moved upward from the water till a hand popped out. "W-What?" Then an arm shaped like his own but with the covering of the wavy pond, reached higher. For answers, Pit eyed Viridi. She was as lost as he, but the hero also noticed the movement of something behind her. Her Shadow? It was performing the same struggle of the 'Water Pit', pulling themselves up towards reality. Taking the image and the resources to create a physical body.
Viridi inched closer to Pit, "What is this?" her voice confused and worried. Pit summoned his blade, getting into his battle stance.
Laughter, "Awh the little kiddies are having a sleepover. How cute."
"Pandora!" Yelled Pit, his weapons disappearing.
Viridi, also enraged yelled as well, "What is the meaning of this?"
A simple answer for a simple question. "I thought it would be a great way to show off my new army."
"-new army?"
With a smirk, the Goddess of Calamity replied with, "meet my new dimensional links, a.k.a, enemies to the corrupted."
Viridi covered her face sighing, "You're joking right?" She looked to Pit tired. The angel of course saw this and beckoned her to go as he guided Pandora out. But at last minute, falling from the sky a handful of new monsters came again. It was obvious the creations were nothing of the light, twitching and filled with hate. Viridi doubted that the new enemies had any intention for good as Pandora's. "What? Are these... new Dark Forces? I-I... they're suppose to be gone!" The Goddess of Nature summoned her staff and brought out her creatures of the living green.
"Suppose to be.." Remained the Amazon, "Did I not tell you?" Pulling out a wand from thin air, the goddess conducted her shadow links to go for the kill as Pit went for Viridi. If you forgotten, Pandora still carries the curse. Fog in her soul. She immediately grew limp from the single act of magic. To her relief, none of the two saw. With the enemies gone in a struggling flash, all was silent once more. The waters calmed and the reflection clear, Pandora planted her feet to the stone, frowning. "Viridi... Hades has awakened."
"... No."
"For now he is weak but I am not sure what he is after... Dark Pit teinted the rules of the immortals. And I fear he will go for him, which leads to why I made these.." Pandora pointed to her army returning where they came from. "But I know there is more... Hades is never satisfied. I came to warn you both and conclude my actions. Do you understand?"
Nodding, Pit stood straight. "Yes Pandora."
"I do not." Pacing the Nature Goddess asked, "Pandora. How, how is he alive? . . . We ALL saw Pit defeat him."
The King of Evil did not disappear completely. His spirit still there and after waiting and waiting, the devil himself constructed a new body. Time will tell what he is planning next and who he is going after. The peace Dark Pit, Daymein and Emma have will not last for long, the love Pit has for a Goddess with be crushed. And for now, Pandora created from the dark will make her next move in this game.
