Okay I feel like a complete moron. All this time I had been calling the team KRWBBY. When instead it should have been CRWBBY. I was using a K for Clark last name, when instead I should have been using a C for his first name. For know on I will call the the team CRWBBY.
Lex Corp Laboratory
For months now Lex had had his top scientists teaming up with the Schnee Dust Company in order to create a super serum. The Schnee dust company had had enough of the a White Fang interfering with their company affairs and sought out Luthor Corps help. They had combined their resources and were working on creating a serum that would enhance the speed, strength and sense of anyone who injected the serum. The lead scientist James Ferline was just finishing up today's work, the serum was finally ready.
Beacon Academy
The bell rung signalling the end of another school day at Beacon Academy. As team CRWBBY made their way to their room Clark switched on his phone which he always kept off during class. As soon as it turned on it rang immediately. He looked down at the screen and was surprised to find that he had 16 missed calls and 25 texts, all from Chloe. All the texts said the same thing.
'Clark, this is really important. Lana could be in danger. Call me as soon as you read this.'
Clark did as Chloe instructed and rang her.
"Chloe what's wrong?" He asked worried for Lana's safety.
"You remember Lana was joining that Tri Psi sorority because there were no accommodation left at Met U?" Chloe asked over the phone.
"Yeah," Clark responded still not sure what was wrong.
"Well, since she joined she hasn't answered any of my calls and whenever I go over they never let me in to see her. Have you spoken to her?" Now that Clark thought about it he hadn't spoken to Lana in a long time. He had been rather busy with school work, training and being a vigilante.
"I haven't spoken to her in a long time," he responded.
"I think there is something strange going on at this sorority. You better come over here and have a look at what I've found."
"I'll be there shortly," he replied before hanging up. After dropping off his books he told the others he was going for a run before speeding off towards Metropolis University.
Metropolis University
"Hey," he greeted Chloe as he blurred into the room. Chloe who had been sitting at her desk jumped into the air, startled by Clark's entrance.
"God Clark you nearly gave me a heart attack!" She shrieked as she recovered from the shock of Clark's sudden appearance.
"Sorry," he apologised. "So what have you got?" He asked nodding towards the computer Chloe had be working on.
"Okay, Six years ago Tri psi was just your regular sorority. Then their new president took over, Buffy Sanders. After that they became the most exclusive sorority at Met U. They get more pledges then any other every year but they only choose one girl to be apart of Tri Psi."
"Lana," Clark nods in understanding.
"Right, now it looks like she's a member for life. According to this, since Buffy Sanders took over not one Tri psi has ever left the sister hood," she explained indicating to the site she had open on her computer.
"You think this has something to do with why Lana won't return your calls?" Clark inquired.
"I think that there is only one way we can be sure," Chloe replied as she grabbed a nearby sheet of paper and handed it to Clark. He took the paper and looked it over. It was a poster advertising a costume party that Tri psi was hosting tomorrow night and everyone was invited.
"Costume party?" Clark asked curiously.
"It's the perfect cover for us to get in there and poke around," she explained.
"I hate costumes," Clark complained. As he said this Chloe's roommate wandered into their room causing both to stop their discussion. This distracted Clark and he unconsciously placed the piece of paper into his pocket. Just as Clark was about to leave Chloe called out. "Oh Clark by the way, nice Glasses!" Although confused at first Clark soon realised that this was the first time Chloe had seen him in his nerdy disguise. After Chloe promised to sought out costumes Clark ran home.
Beacon Academy
When he arrived back back at school he found his room empty. Only now did he realise that he had taken the the party poster with him. He tossed it onto his bed, God did he hate costumes. The only reason he wore one as the Blur was to protect his identity. Just as he was about to leave the rest of his team came through the door.
"Hey C.K. How long have you been back?" Bart asked as he jumped onto his bed.
"Not long," Clark responded. Yang was the first to notice the poster on Clark's bed.
"What's this?" She asked as she picked it up. Before Clark got the chance to respond Yang yelled out. "Costume party?! Sounds like my kind of thing!" Clark mentally groaned, now that Yang had seen the invitation there was no way she wasn't coming. "I can get a costume by tomorrow," she mumbled to herself. "Where is this sorority house?" She asked Clark as she read the location off of the poster.
"It's all the way in Metropolis," Clark replied hoping that would disinterest Yang. However this just seemed to make her even more excited.
"Sweet, a whole new audience I can amaze. I'll check the airship schedule for tomorrow." As Yang did this a thought accrued to Weiss.
"Clark, if this party is all the way in Metropolis then how did you get the poster?"
"Chloe sent it," he replied being as close to the truth as possible. The others accepted his excuse, all except Bart.
"Hey C.K. I need your help," Bart requested as he began to walk out of the room. Clark quickly followed and met Bart a few metres down the hall.
"A costume party?" Bart asked suspiciously, he knew something was up, Clark is definitely not a party guy.
"Okay the truth is that my friend Lana joined this sorority and now she won't return anyone's calls or see any of us. Chloe and I are gonna snoop around whilst the party is going on," he explained.
"I'll help in any way I can," Bart responded being unusually serious. Even Bart didn't want to joke about possibly losing a friend. He didn't want to think about any of his teammates going issuing or worse. "Should we let Ruby know what's really going on. An extra set of eyes could be useful," Bart suggested.
"It could be dangerous," Clark warned.
"Dude, she's a huntress in training. Plus all we're gonna be doing is taking a look around. How dangerous could it be."
Ruby immediately agreed to help once Clark explained the real reason they were going to the party. The next day immediately after school the team raced back to their room and left only a few moments later. Everyone except Blake and Weiss. Blake had refused to go to the party because she didn't enjoy that sort of thing and Weiss was having a family dinner.
Tri Psi Sorority House
The next day the group rocked up to the party in costume. Chloe wore a cheerleader outfit, Bart was dressed as a pirate, Yang was an angel, Ruby had refused to were a costume and remained in her usual red hood. Finally Chloe had picked out a Zoro outfit for Clark. At first he hated the cape, but it was beginning to grow on him. It was the mask that was the problem, it kept sliding around, he could barely see anything sometimes. Bart rung the doorbell and a few moments later a tall, brown skinned woman answered the door, she looked to be about 18 and wore a sexy, pink bunny outfit. She looked over the group and stopped when she spotted Clark. She looked him over and gave him a sweet smile. Clark couldn't help but smile back at her.
"Come on in," she allowed. "I'm Christie," she introduced herself as she wrapped one arm around Clark's. "What's your name?" She asked him.
"Clark," he replied, as they entered the house. There were people every where, the music was blaring and everyone had a drink.
"This is my kinda crowd!" Yang yelled over the music before she went off to get a drink. Now that Yang was busy the others could go and investigate. Chloe turned around to see that Clark was still attached to Christies arm.
"Come one Clark," she demanded as she grabbed him by the arm and pulled him away from Christie. The group made their way to the corner of the room to go over the plan.
"Okay me and Ruby will stay down here and look for Lana," Chloe reminded. "You two go up stairs and look for anything that might be useful," she instructed the boys. With that the group split up, Ruby and Chloe searching for Lana, Clark and Bart searching upstairs.
As they looked around Ruby was the first one to spot Lana, she knew what Lana looked like from a photo Chloe had shown her. Lana was dressed as a cat and was currently dancing with a guy in a cowboy outfit. Ruby grabbed Chloe and told her were Lana was. Chloe marched up to Lana with Ruby only a few steps behind.
"Lana! What have you been doing? What haven't you returned any of my calls?" She asked as she pulled her away from the cowboy.
"Hey!" He complained.
"Go play with you six shooter," Chloe snapped before grabbing Lana's arm and pulling her towards a corner of the room.
As this was happening Clark stood in Buffy's room and was currently flipping through the pages of her diary. Inside he found an old newspaper article of a girl being bitten by vampire bats. The title read 'HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT SURVIVES BAT ATTACK IN CAVE'. He quickly put the diary back where it belonged and placed the article in his pocket. Just as he did this Buffy came through the door,dressed in a sexy devil outfit.
"What are you doing?" She demanded.
"Just looking for a bathroom," Clark lied. Buffy was about to question him further but before she could a guy who was obviously drunk entered the room and yelled hot tub before racing out again. Buffy turned to look at the guy and when she looked back at Clark he was gone.
Meanwhile Bart was searching through another room. He hadn't found anything yet when suddenly Clark appeared I front of him.
"We have to leave know," Clark ordered.
"Dude, what's wrong?" Bart asked.
"Buffy Sanders is on to me," he replied. The two raced downstairs in order to find the others and get out of there.
Back with Ruby, Chloe was still questioning Lana.
"Lana this isn't you. What happened?" Chloe asked her friend.
"I decided to have some fun. You should try it!" Lana yelled back.
"Lana what happened to you?" She asked again.
"You shouldn't have come here," Lana warned as she grabbed Chloe by the shoulders. Suddenly she grew fangs and prepared to plunge them into Chloe's neck. However thanks to Ruby's speedy reaction time she managed to shove Chloe out of the way. Despite saving Chloe, Ruby was in the way of Lana 's attack and She screamed as Lana plunged her fangs into her neck and began to drink her blood. Only Clark with his super hearing was able to hear her yells over the booming, music. He super sped to the Ruby and was surprised to say the least when he found Lana sucking blood from his teammates neck.
"Lana?!" He yelled at his former girlfriend. Lana stopped sucking Ruby's blood and turned to face him. Without hesitation she threw Ruby at him. As Clark went to catch Ruby, Lana began to make her getaway by running out of a nearby window. When she landed however she surprised to find a young boy in a pirate outfit waiting for her.
"Hey there," Bart greeted the vampire. "Although you look amazing in that outfit, I'm afraid I can't let you leave." Not wanting to wast anymore time Lana charged at Bart who easily dodged her attack. Lana continued her attempts at trying to attack him. This only distracted him from the other vampires that were sneaking up behind him. Buffy sunk her fangs into his neck and began to suck his blood. This blood was like nothing she had ever tasted before, it was amazing, so full of energy. Before she could suck anymore a pair of hands grabbed her and threw her away. Bart fell unconscious but was lucky enough to have Clark catch him. Clark was the one who saved him from Buffy and was know the one being surrounded by the remaining vampires. The only reason why he wasn't with Ruby was because Chloe promised to look after her and called an ambulance. Before anyone could attack Buffy ran up to them at super speed.
"I could definitely do with more of that!" She squealed with delight at the taste of Bart's blood. Clark's eyes widened in shock when he realised she now had Bart's powers.
Faster then Clark could blink Buffy, using her new found speed, ran up to Clark and forced her fangs onto his neck. However, her fangs shattered as they smashed down on his impenetrable skin.
"Ahhh!" She screamed in pain. She blurred off screaming as she went. The others worried at the power Clark had, decided to leave him be, for now, and ran off into the night. Clark looked down at Bart who was still in his arms, unconscious.
Schnee Mansion
Weiss currently walked down the hallways of her family mansion accompanied by her father.
"Weiss, darling, I've had this serum made up and I think it'll help you with your training," he explained as he handed a veil full a black liquid to his daughter. "It'll increase your strength, speed speed and senses," he continued his explanation. Weiss couldn't believe this, her dad was offering her drugs to help her become a Huntress. Sure he had done some bad things in the past but this was incredible. She was about to go berserk at her father when her phone went off. She answered it and unconsciously slipped the veil into her pocket.
"Hey Clark, what's going on?" Clark explained what happened at the party to Weiss who was both sad and angry that two other members of her team had been put into the hospital. She immediately caught the Schnee Jet to Metropolis to see her friends.
Metropolis General Hospital
An hour and a half later Blake came racing through the doors of Metropolis General Hospital. She was directed to room 611, where Ruby lay, with bandage attached around her neck. In the room next door Bart lay with bandages around his neck. Right behind her was Professor Ozpin and Ms Goodwitch who hade come with Blake to see to their students health.
"How are they?" Blake asked Clark who had been with them the entire time. Chloe, Yang and Weiss were also there watching over Ruby and Bart.
"The doctor said that they've been infected with some sought of rabies like virus. Whatever it is is attacking their red blood cells and stopping them from regenerating. There isn't anything he can do to help them at the moment." Clark explained.
"What happened?" Glynda asked as she and Ozpin didn't know what had happened. Clark decided he might as well tell them the real reason of how they got infected. Besides, they may know something that could help.
"I know how this is gonna sound but I think they were bitten by a vampire," He explained.
"A vampire?" Glynda asked sceptically.
"Clark there is no such thing as vampires," Ozpin reminded.
"I know what I saw!" Clark retorted. Before anyone could say anything else a doctor came marching into the room.
"Hello I'm doctor Ivan," he greeted the group as he took a look over Ruby's charts. "I came over because I heard about the unusual symptoms your friends had." Everyone looked at each other curiously before Clark questioned the man.
"Can you help them?"
"I'm afraid not," Doctor Ivan responded, much to the groups dismay. "However, I do know someone who can." The groups hopes instantly rose.
"Who?" They asked.
"Lex Luthor," the doctor responded much to their surprise. "Ask him about project 1138," he instructed before making his exit. Just before he left Ozpin asked,
"And just how do you know about project 1138?"
"I used to work as one of Lex's scientists," the doctor answered before leaving.
"I'll speak to Lex," Clark suggested. The others all agreed and despite Yang, Blake and Weiss wanting to come along to help find answers, Clark convinced them he would be fine and that they should stay incase Ruby or Bart's condition changed. Just as Clark was about to leave he decided to check on Bart just incase. His jaw dropped when he found Bart sitting up in bed looking around the room.
"Hey man," Bart greeted a stunned Clark, "what'd I miss?"
"How are you awake?" Clark asked after the shock wore off.
"I'm not entirely sure but I thinks it cause of my speed." Clark still confused asked Bart what he meant by that. "You see I've always been able to heal fast, wether it's a common cold or a broken bone. I think my body was just able to heal itself faster then the disease was hurting me. I read my chart is the same thing happening to Ruby?" He asked worried for his friend.
"Yeah," Clark regretfully responded. "I'm about to go see Lex Luthor, apparently he knows about the disease."
"Then I'll come with you," Bart suggested but was shot down by Clark.
"No, you stay here. Just incase there are any long lasting effects. Plus the team needs you." Clark took Bart to Ruby's room much to the delight of the others. They lied and told them they didn't know how Bart woke up. With that done Clark raced off to the Luthor mansion.
Tri Psi Sorority House
Back at the Sorority house the vampires had forced everyone out and were currently planning on a way to solve the mess they were now in. "Lana!" Buffy ordered. "You are to track down Clark and finish him off. He knows to much about us."
"Sure," Lana accepts.
"I'll take care of the boy and the those girls," she decided, in reference to Ruby, Chloe and Bart. "Plus with this new speed it'll be fun to see what kinda trouble I can get up to."
Luthor Mansion
Clark barged into Lex's study and found Lex sitting at his desk, typing on his laptop.
"Lex!" Clark yelled out. "Project 1138, what is it?!" He demanded.
"I never heard of it," is Lex's immediate response.
"Don't lie to me!" Clark snaps back. "I know it has something to do with the rabies virus. My friend Ruby is in the hospital dying from it right now." For a second Lex looked worried but continued to withhold any information he had on the subject.
"I think Lana's also been infected," Clark added hoping that would convince Lex to help. This did the trick, Lex and Lana had become close before she went off to college. Then he lost contact with her. "No more games," Clark demanded. "If you know anything about what's going on you have to tell me right now. Before it's to late."
Lex marched over to his vault and unlocked it. Inside he pulled out a silver briefcase and brought it back to his study.
"Six years ago, a girl named Buffy Sanders was trapped in a cave outside Smallville for several days," Lex explained.
"I know, Lex, I read the news paper article," Clark explained, rushing Lex for the cure.
"Well, there were certain facts that never made it into the press," Lex revealed.
"Like what?" Clark asked for clarification.
"Luthor Corp aided in her rescue," Lex explained. "After she was transported to the hospital the site was discovered to have unusual characteristics."
"Lex quite dancing around what did Luthor Corp find!" Clark demanded tired of Lex's stalling.
"Meteor Rocks!" Lex burst out. "They had soaked into the water causing infected stalactites which in turn infected the indigenous animal life, desmodontinae, vampire bats" Lex revealed.
"So we are dealing with vampires," Clark realised.
"There's nothing mystical about this Clark," Lex reminded. "It's just a very unusual disease. One of the Luthor Corp researches was accidentally bitten and quickly developed unusual strength, aversion to bright light and enlarged canine teeth."
"Fangs?" Clark asked for clarification.
"Seemed to help with the cannibalistic tendencies," Lex replied only half joking.
"What happened to him?" Clark asked worried that the mans fate was a poor one and that Lana would soon share it.
"He retired to Sausalito, after we cured him," Lex responded much to Clark's relief. "We were able to create a serum that reversed the infection," Lex explained as he opened the suitcase. However as he opened the case Clark felt the painstaking effects of Kryptonite. Inside the case there were several needles fool of a red liquid and a large chunk of Kryptonite.
"The stalactites keeps the serum active," Lex continued his explanation as he prepared one of the needles. "It needs to be injected directly into the heart, in order for it to carry through the blood stream effectively." Clark tried his best to withstand the pain of Kryptonite but he couldn't help his body from turning pale and the sweat beginning to poor down his head.
"Clark, are you alright?" Lex asked at Clarks sudden change in health. Before he could respond Lana came crashing through the sky light of the upstairs library. She dived at Lex throwing him across the room knocking him unconscious. Clark was about to attack but as a result of his weakened state was to slow and Lana shoved him to the ground. Luckily he landed near the prepared needle Lex had dropped and managed to grab it. "I'm sorry it had to be this way Clark, but we don't always get to choose who we are," Lana claimed. Lana wasn't shore what was gonna happen when she bit into Clark, she had seen what had happened to Buffy when she attempted to bite him. However Now Clark was looking extremely sick and she decide to take her chances. Besides Buffy's fangs had grown back and she was good as new, so there was really no harm in trying. Just as she was about to bite into Clark's neck he shoved the needle he was holding into her chest, all the way to her heart. He injected the antidote and watched as it took affect. Lana screamed out in pain as her body was healed from the the disease. After making sure Lex and Lana were both alright Clark grabbed the remaining antidotes and ran back to the hospital.
Metropolis General Hospital
Whilst Clark had been getting the antidote from Lex, Buffy had tracked them down the hospital. She blurred into the room appearing seemingly out of nowhere. Bart was down the hall purchasing a bag of chips from a vending machine leaving the others to watch over Ruby. This also meant that none of them recognised the blond in the devil outfit. Professor Ozpin was the fist to notice the girl. He stood up and turned to look at Buffy.
"Can I help you?" He asked. The others all turned to look at Buffy.
"Yeah, you can die!" She didn't know who they could have told about them being vampires but she decided it would be best if she killed everyone here. Moving at super speed Buffy grabbed Ozpin around the throat and before anyone could react through him out of the window. Ozpin smashed through the glass and began to plummet towards the ground. When he was only a few stories high a figure blurred into appearance and jumped up the side of the hospital. As the figure went past, he grabbed Ozpin and they soared higher and higher until the reached the roof of the building. Ozpin looked into the eyes of his saviour to see Clark holding a metal suitcase.
"What happened Professor?" Clark asked worriedly. He had just been making his way back from the Luthor Mansion when he saw Ozpin falling.
"I believe it's Buffy," Ozpin responded. "She attacked us in Ruby's room. Go Clark, save them!" Without another word Clark ran off to Ruby's room. The hospital staff had begun to move patience into the elevator in order to keep them out of harms way. Buffy had knocked out Glynda, Blake and Yang. Ruby's bed had been tipped over and she lay unconscious on the ground. Weiss was dangling from the window sill with only one hand. Bart had returned when he heard the commotion and was currently fighting Buffy at supper speed. Thanks to his training as a huntsman he was winning the fight even though Buffy had super speed like him. When Weiss thought she couldn't hold on any longer she remembered the serum her father had given her. Although she didn't want to take any drugs she had to if she wanted to survive. She quickly pulled out the veil and swallowed the black liquid. A strange feeling came over her and she fell unconscious. Clark who had just arrived in the room never stopped moving in a blur raced over to Weiss grabbed her and raced her onto the roof with Professor Ozpin, Clark never noticed Weiss taking the serum. He brought her onto the roof so that she was safe and so she wouldn't see Bart moving at Super speed if she regained consciousness. Clark sped off back to his other teammates. A moment later Weiss regained consciousness.
"What a happened?" She asked as she took in her surroundings. One minute she was hanging onto a windowsill drinking the serum her father gave her and the next she was on the roof.
"You were saved by the Blur," Ozpin responded.
Bart gave Buffy a final punch knocking her out. Clark returned and injected both Buffy and Ruby with the antidote.
Luthor Mansion
A day later all the infected girls had been healed with no recollection of their time as vampires. Ruby had made a full recovery and was good as new. Clark currently stood in. Lex's mansion thanking him for his help.
"I know we've had our differences recently Lex but I just wanted to thank you for your help," Clark expressed his gratitude towards Lex.
"No problem," Lex replied as he pored himself a drink. "There is something I'm still curious about," Lex revealed. "How did you know about Project 1138?" He asked as he turned to look Clark in the eyes.
"Does it matter?" Clark asked not wanting to reveal his source.
"It does seeing as this person has some how had access to highly classified documents belonging to Luthor Corp." Although Clark didn't want to rad Dr Ivan out he thought it'd be best to tell Lex incase Dr Ivan were to do something bad with what he found from Luthor Corp.
"His name was Dr Ivan, he used to be a scientist at Lex Corp," Clark admitted.
"Never heard of him," Lex replied immediately, not believe Clark.
"I don't know what else to say Lex. A man named Doctor Ivan told me that he was a former scientist of yours and to ask you about Project 1138."
After Clark left Lex pulled out a veil of the same liquid Weiss had taken. The one his scientists had been working on for months now. The serum was supposed to give him incredible strength and speed. He was determined to have that power and drank the serum. His body collapsed just like Weiss did when she drank her veil. When he woke up he immediately felt different. He walked over to his large glass desk and lifted it easily over his head with one hand. He smiled to himself as he began to imagine all the things he could do with this power. He wasn't paying attention and accidentally tilted the table causing champagne bottle he had ordered to come crashing down on him. However instead shattering and slicing his head open the bottles simply shattered on impact without leaving a single scratch.
Honduras, Central America
Two hours later Dr Ivan walked through the thick, lush jungle until he came upon the black ship used by Brainiac. As the doctor moved closer to the ship his body turned to silver and began to change. He became shorter and fitter than the body of Doctor Ivan. Once the transformation was complete, Dr Ivan was gone, instead stood Brainiac. Brainiac had been watching Clark for some time getting information on the young Kryptonian. Although he didn't care for human life he had told Clark about Project 1138 for his own personal reasons. He looked to his left where he found James Ferline, Luthor Corps top scientists, whose body also changed into that of Brainiacs. The two Brainiacs touched the ship and were absorbed into it. It was finally time, time for the return of Zod.
