~Kenmei's POV~
We waited for her answer, I knew she was debating this while thinking about Orochimaru's deal. I'll admit, I would love to have Yuki back, I mean she was like my little sister, but Tsunade can't keep living in the past.
"Impossible, I decline," she told us.
"I remember the past, you saying the same thing 'I decline' when I asked you out," he said to her. I nudged him in the ribs and he smiled sheepishly. He didn't have to say that with me sitting right here!
"You just wanted her to come back to the village so she could check on Sasuke's, Tenshi's, and Kakashi-Sensei's health, right?! Yet…you ask her to be our Hokage?! And she declined!" Naruto yelled.
"Don't worry so much, this person right here, Tsunade…is the only person who can become the Fifth Hokage. She was the one, alongside Mei, who brought us victory in the battle. No one has been able to acquire their techniques, also Tsunade is the granddaughter of the first generation Hokage. So, she is the most appropriate person for the position. If she becomes Hokage she would have to come back to the village then she could check up on those three. This was a decision made by the top members of the Leaf, you have absolutely no say in this matter," Jiraiya told him. I glared at him.
"Way to put him down easy, Raiya," I said to him. He chuckled nervously.
"Jiraiya, this kid seems worse than your previous apprentice in terms of looks, speech, and intelligence," she told him.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" Naruto yelled.
"Tsunade!" I exclaimed. What do you expect, she talked bad about the boy I thought of as a son, and my Godson! I have every right to be defensive.
"Well…it's tough for anyone to be compared to the Fourth because he really had the talent to become top-rated ninja. He was smart, reliable and handsome like me too!" Jiraiya smiled. I rolled my eyes with a small smile.
"But even that Fourth died quickly, he gave his life for the village" she said to him. I started remembering how Minato saved the village, he sealed the Nine Tails in Naruto, but his wife, Kushina, gave her life to save Naruto. "Life is different from money, it can't be risked that easily, whoever puts it at risk too easily is a fool. My grandfather and the Second both focused too much on bringing peace to our home, more than anything else, but as a result, they just died in the middle of their dreams, like the losers," she said to us. I shook my head.
"You've changed a lot Tsunade, I don't know what you've been thinking all this time, but you've just said all that's on your mind, you practically just said your own daughter was a loser, don't you remember, she was the Mangetsukage," I said to her.
"I know what I said, but that was about the Hokage's, the Mangetsu village needed a leader and Yuki was perfect for it with her heart, you know I was proud of her. The thing is, I'm already in my fifties, age changes people, and you know that. It's the same for Sarutobi, no wonder he died, because he was too old to live his dreams," she said to both me and Jiraiya. I felt Naruto shaking with anger beside me, honestly, I was close to it and so was Jiraiya. "Being Hokage is a shit, no one but a fool would do it," she said to us. With that said, Naruto jumped on the table to punch her, but Jiraiya held him back.
"Let me go! I can't forgive anyone who says anything bad about our Hokage and the Fourth! She practically just said some bad about her own granddaughter considering Tenshi is the temporary Hokage! I don't care if she is a woman! I'm going to kick her ass!" Naruto shouted. Tsunade didn't seem fazed and neither did I, honestly, I want to hurt her just like he does. She stood up and leveled her eyes at him.
"You've got some guts to say such things to me boy, let's take this outside," she smirked. Naruto growled and we walked out. I walked up to Naruto who was now standing across from Tsunade.
"Naruto, this wouldn't be wise, she's stronger than she looks," I said to him. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
"How much stronger?" He asked.
"She can beat you with one finger," I deadpanned. It's the truth, with her monster strength like mine, she only needs one finger to knock him out.
"Doesn't matter, I'm not going to let her get away with what she said," he told me. I knew he was mostly talking about Tenshi and being Hokage. I sighed and went back to Jiraiya.
"He's gonna lose," Jiraiya stated.
"Yup," I simply answered.
"I've been one of the four Legendary Ninjas, I don't even have to be serious to fight this little ninja boy," she smirked.
"Shut up!" Naruto shouted at her. She only lifted her pointed finger.
"One finger should be enough," she said. Naruto threw Shuriken at her while holding a kunai.
"Stop fooling around!" Naruto shouted as he ran at her. She stuck a finger through the ring of the kunai to get Naruto's wrist and grabbed the kunai, she used the kunai knocking his chin which caused his headband to fall off. She then flicked his forehead making him fly back a couple feet. He stood up and looked at her.
"Hey kid, I'll ask you one thing before you pass out. Why do you get excited just hearing the word 'Hokage'?" She asked him. I smirked at this, I knew his answer from the moment I saw him.
"Unlike you, I really want to succeed the Hokage name…and I will…because it's my dream to become Hokage," he said to her with a smirk. I knew she practically saw the man she loved and her little brother just hearing that. They had the same look of determination in their eyes just as Naruto does. Tsunade looked down at the ground, Naruto noticed that she was now vulnerable and started forming the Rasengan causing Jiraiya and I to smirk. He ran at her. "Take this!" He shouted. She saw it and cracked the ground with her finger making Naruto fall between the cracks. She looked at Jiraiya.
"Jiraiya, was it you who's teaching him the Rasengan! The only people who can use the Rasengan were the Fourth and you. Teaching him something he cannot do and believe you are his master, it's better if he doesn't think that way so silly kids won't joke about foolish dreams like 'becoming Hokage'," she said to us. Naruto got angry again.
"It's not a joke you idiot! All I need is three days and I can master that technique, just you watch!" Naruto shouted at him. She smirked at him.
"Heh, some words brat, a man's word should never be taken back," she said to him. Now it was Naruto's turn to smirk.
"I won't take my words back, that is my ninja way," he said to her. She was shocked for a minute then smirked again.
"Is that so, well then, I'll give you one week, if you can master that Jutsu, I will acknowledge that you could become Hokage and I'll give you this necklace," she said showing him the necklace with a teal colored crystal.
"I don't want that ugly necklace," he said to her. I shook my head.
"Don't say that, Naruto, that is a very unique and precious ore that belonged to the first Hokage, if you sold it, you could be three mountains," Jiraiya told him. I nudged him in the side shaking my head.
"Well, alright then," Naruto said.
"But if you can't master this Jutsu in a week, you lose all your money will belong to me," she said holding his frog wallet.
"Ah! My cute froggy!" He whined. I couldn't help by giggle a bit at that. I walked up to Naruto.
"Don't worry, just train and you'll get it back," I said to him. He looked at me and nodded with determination in his eyes. I looked at Tsunade, who avoided my gaze. "You really have changed Tsunade, I think your own daughter and granddaughter would be disappointed in you. Isamu (Courageous, Brave) was the Mangetsukage before Yuki was. Minato, the boy I thought of as a son, was the Hokage, even Sarutobi-Sensei, the man I thought of as a father, was Hokage and you talked trash about them, that really hurts coming from the woman I thought of as a sister," I said to her. She looked at me with wide eyes.
"Kenmei, I'm…" I held a hand up interrupting her.
"Forget it, it's up to you to come back, I won't force you, but I will say this, stop living in the god damn past and move on, people need you and your letting them down, that means you letting Tenshi down. Tenshi is the temporary Hokage, like I told you before, she is taking on your work until we bring you there, but if you don't she'll have to bare your burden at the age of thirteen. Think wisely about my words, Tsunade, before your own words will bite you in the ass later on," I said to her. With that, I left walking to the hotel with Naruto trailing behind me. He saw that I was upset and grabbed my hand. I couldn't help but let out a small smile. This boy, he will go far, for he is so much like his father. Naruto care about everyone, that's a good trait to have when you're a Kage. I looked at Naruto. "Naruto, promise me something," I said to him.
"What is it, Auntie Kenmei?" He asked me.
"Keep your dreams alive, I know for sure that you'll become Hokage…and a great one at that," I said to him. He beamed and hugged me making me laugh and hug him back. When we got back to the hotel, I was in the bath thinking about the old days. Like Tsunade, I also lost a younger sibling.
FLASHBACK
"Big sister!" I heard someone shout. I turned around with Maru and saw a little girl with brown hair and shining blue eyes. My little sister Haruka (Spring Flower). I saw she was wearing her forehead protector around her neck and smiled. I ran up to her and picked her up spinning her causing her to laugh.
"You're a Genin! I'm so proud of you, Haru!" I said to her. I sat her down as Maru came up to her and ruffled her short brown hair.
"Great job, Haruka," he said to her. He thought of Haruka as a little sister just as she thought of him like a big brother.
"Thank you, this is amazing! I hope on of you will be my sensei!" She said to us happily. I giggled with her just as Maru chuckled. We walked to Ichiraku and had a celebratory dinner. Maru and I walked home as he carried Haruka on her back, who had fallen asleep after dinner. We walked into the house and put her to bed. I tucked her in after I took her headband off, setting it on her bed stand. Maru and I walked out of her room to the living room to sit on the couch.
"I still can't believe she's a ninja now, seems like yesterday that she was just starting at the academy," I said to him as I snuggled into his side.
"I can't believe it either, someone like Haruka should stay little," he said to me. We both laughed a little at that. I nodded.
"I wish, but it was a little harder then, I mean, our parents died leaving me alone with her. I was only her age back then. And now, seven years later, she's a Genin and I'm a Jounin, before I know it she'll be a Chuunin and then like us, a Jounin. When I didn't have missions, I would get a part time job just to keep us alive," I told him. He held me tighter in his arms.
"You've both come so far. She definitely takes after you. You're strong, wise, courageous, and beautiful, I love you and all those traits about you," he said to me giving me a kiss on my forehead. I couldn't help but blush.
"Oh please, you better than me. I remember how hard it was to talk to you without stuttering," I giggled a little bit as he chuckled. "Hey, we still have to plan the wedding," I said to him. I heard him sigh.
"We'll work on that tomorrow, you need sleep, I can tell your about to pass out on me," he said to me. I nodded, before I could stand up, Maru grabbing me lifting me up into his arms, carrying me to my room.
"You spoil me too much," I said to him. He chuckled as he laid me on the bed.
"I enjoy spoiling you, Ken. Isn't that what a husband does for his wife?" He asked me as he laid down with me. I laid my head on his chest and he wrapped his arms around me.
"We aren't husband and wife yet…but I do like that thought. Mrs. Orochimaru," I said to him. He held me tighter to him.
"I love the sound of that," he said to me. We both fell sleep after we shared a kiss. Later on, we learned neither of us were going to Haruka's sensei, she was a little upset, but she liked her team. A few months later, Maru and I were training as we waited for Haruka to return from her mission. I then saw Haruka's sensei walk over to us with a saddened expression.
"What is wrong, Kouki (Light Hope)?" I asked him. He looked at me and I saw his eyes prick with tears.
"It's Haruka, she didn't make it," he said to me. I froze, this couldn't be happening! Not my little sister! "I'm so sorry, Kenmei," he said to me. He vanished in a puff of smoke and I broke down, falling to my knees, Maru by my side. I let out an agonizing scream. Maru held me close to him until Tsunade and Jiraiya ran over to us.
"What's going on? Orochimaru, what happened?" Jiraiya asked him. Orochimaru looked down.
"Haruka…died while on her last mission, we just go the news," he choked out the words. Tsunade and Nawaki, her little brother were in tears. Nawaki was Haruka's best friend. While Tsunade and Nawaki hugged each other, trying to calm down, Jiraiya just stood there looking down with a tear running down his cheek. I was in so much pain, I felt my heart crack. I was truly alone now. I had no father, no mother, and now, no little sister, I'm completely alone.
FLASHBACK END
I opened my eyes and got out of the tub. I looked in the mirror and saw that I was crying. I just had to remember her death!
~Tenshi's POV~
It's about three weeks since Uncle Jiraiya, Auntie Kenmei, and Naruto went to look for grandmother. I keep having this bad feeling, the kind I had when it involved Orochimaru. I was sitting in the office thinking about what could have happened. I hope they are all alright. I had Akira go after them to keep an eye on them in case help was needed. So far, I guess everything is fine, but why do I get this horrible feeling? Akira appeared before me with a distressed look.
"Report," I said to her.
"Orochimaru and Kabuto have attacked your grandmother. Your aunt and uncle are fighting alongside Lady Shizune and Lord Naruto, they are in danger!" She told me. I nodded at running outside. I bit my thumb drawing blood and drew the summoning symbol.
"Summoning Jutsu: Yuzuki!" I shouted. Yuzuki appeared and I told her of the situation, I got onto her head with Tamotsu and we were off. It didn't take us long to reach them. When I saw them, I saw Orochimaru's summoned snake. Everyone was pretty beat up. Auntie Kenmei was beside Uncle Jiraiya. Grandmother was behind Naruto while he had Kabuto's hand. His clone started forming the Rasengan in the real Naruto's other hand. When the Rasengan was completed he used it on Kabuto injuring his stomach as he was thrown into a bolder. I ran up to them as Yuzuki disappeared. "I guess I wasn't needed," I said to Naruto. Naruto looked at me with a small smile, he then coughed up blood and collapsed. Turns out, Kabuto absorbed the Chakra causing it to heal him. But something went wrong and he coughed up blood himself, collapsing. "Well, there's a saying in times like this…karma's a bitch," I said to everyone. I listened in on Naruto and looked at grandmother. "The muscles of his heart are worn out, his heart beat is becoming more erratic," I told her. She nodded and started healing him after she unzipped his jacket. Kabuto started talking about how useless it would be to heal him, but she just told him to shut up. As she was healing him, his hand came up to her necklace. We looked at him.
"The bet…I won," he tiredly grinned. He started sleeping as grandmother smiled with tears in her eyes. She looked at me and I nodded, she took her necklace off placing it around his neck. Soon, grandmother jumped behind me, taking a sword to the chest from Orochimaru. I felt tears in my eyes.
"Grandmother!" I shouted. She started telling him about how she would protect us and Konoha. He then slashed her and I caught her. He went to attack us again but grandmother took another hit before I could. He asked why she was doing this. She knocked him away and stood up, her mark on her forehead had grown.
"Because now…I am the Fifth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf!" She smirked. She then did a seal release causing her injuries to heal. Kabuto, grandmother, Auntie Kenmei, Uncle Jiraiya, and I then did our summoning Jutsus. We then stood on our Summons. Kabuto and Orochimaru were on a giant anaconda snake, Manda, grandmother was on a slug, Katsuyu, Uncle Jiraiya was on his toad, Gamabunta, Auntie Kenmei was on her wolf, Masanori, and I was on my wolf, Yuzuki with Tamotsu. We all started attacking then. I looked at Orochimaru.
"You know, Orochimaru, your way out of your league. There's eight of us, against three of you, it would be wise to leave, but if you do stay…I'll take the pleasure in killing you," I growled at him. He just chuckled. I looked at Uncle Jiraiya and Gamabunta. "Hey guys, I feel like a snake roast, how about you?" I asked with a smirk. They smirked back and nodded. Sadly, that didn't work, soon there was a sword threw Manda's mouth, keeping it closed.
"Keep it shut!" Grandmother and Auntie Kenmei shouted. Orochimaru started attacking them with his long tongue, but they fought back. After a little more fighting, Kabuto and Orochimaru retreated. I looked at grandmother and we smiled. I ran over to her and we hugged.
"I've missed you, little Tenshi," she said to me.
"I missed you too, grandmother," I said back to her. We grabbed Naruto and went to the bar they were apparently at before. But, Naruto and grandmother had to fight again. Just as Naruto thought he was going to get flicked back, grandmother kissed his forehead surprising him. She then told him to become a good man. I looked at everyone. "Can we go home now?" I asked. They all laughed and nodded. We left and I could only thing of one thing; don't worry Sasuke, dad, we're coming home to help you.
