Sorry for the billionth time! Merry Christmas, happy Hanukah, happy birthday to someone, and a happy new year! I thank every single one of you for being patient with me. Here we go!

"Whaat- Where am I?"

The older woman tried to move only to remain with her arms hanging above her head and wrists tightly secured by zip ties.

"Good evening, sleepyhead. You ready for a late dinner?"

"Excu- no. Where are we?"

The overjoyed woman pulled up a wooden chair in front of her latest victim.

"Well, I'd call this place paradise. It has quite the…personal touch I'd say.."

They both looked around the confined area with paintings on every wall. All red paintings on the walls. In the corners theres clay sculptures. Of what looks like an actual person is underneath.

"Listen lady, you're not going to get away with whatever you're trying to do. My daughter is the best detective there is, and with Maura, well.. they're quite the duo."

"My dear, I've already gotten away with taking you. I don't need your sloppy daughter on my side when we're absolutely invincible. You unaware of what we're capable of."

"We're?"

"Yes. You and me."

"No, no, no. I'm not helping you. I don't care what your plan is, it's not going to work."

The younger woman chuckled.

"Hm. Well, it already has."

She reached out to grab a plate of food on the table behind her and placed it in front of the captive lady before cutting the zip tie off the chain held onto the wall.

"Sorry I can't stay and chat, I have some work to do. Eat up, my dear. You're gonna need your energy."

With slight hesitation she began to eat the food placed in front of her as she heard the locks being activated.

8 pm

"Hey, I'm going to head home. Gonna get up extra early tomorrow."

"Yeah? For what?" The curious detective asked

"I'm preparing for a 5k run thats coming soon."

"Thats great, Frost! I'll see you tomorrow. Good luck, you're gonna do great."

"Thanks, Jane. See you tomorrow." Barry left her sight and she focused back on the files, going over old cases.

She rubbed her temples.

"Ahh they're not adding up, this doesn't make any like these aren't just coincidences."

She slammed her head on her desk.

"Why can't there just be a simple case for once," she mumbled.

"Rough day, babe?"

As this area was cleared out, Maura came behind Jane and wrapped her arms around her while the brunette accepted her warm embrace.

"Excruciatingly. Did you get the autopsy reports back?"

"Yes, barium carbonate. Most commonly used in pottery."

"So… they're getting killed because of the art gone wrong?"

"Well, it would be a horrible and actually excruciating way to die. It would become soluble in acid environments, any barium ingested would produce a soluble chloride in the stomach- which would lead to severe abdominal pain, nausea, excessive bowel moment and vomiting. In this case, death as a result. This person wanted them to suffer."

"We're looking for an artist, though?"

"I can't say for sure. Anyone can get their hands on this."

"Ahh that narrows it down. I'm gonna have to look at this with fresh eyes tomorrow, I need to go home with my beautiful girlfriend."

Jane turned her chair around and grabbed her girlfriends waist to pull her down onto her lap so she was straddling her, pulling her in for a kiss.

Mid into the kiss Maura stopped her.

"Not here" she whispered into her ear, grabbing a handful of hair.

"My place or yours?"

"Mine," Maura replied.

Jane grabbed Mauras hips and picked her off of her before she lead the way home.
