Brief Author's Note
Hey Guys,
this is just to let you know that the next chapter is the start of the second movie: The Mummy Returns, but first here is a short filler to describe what happened with Lillian and Rick between the first and second movies.
So here it is:
It had been a year since the Hamunaptra incident, as Lillian now called it, and she and Rick had taken to their new relationship swimmingly. Six months after the Hamunaptra incident, Rick and Lillian were married in a simply ceremony in England, with Lillian's father's family present. Jonathon gave her away. Lillian wrote Evy and gave her a detailed account of the day, and Evy replied and told her how happy she was for her, and how sad she was that she couldn't be there to be her maid of honour. Rick, being the big, strong man he was, had cried, though he would adamantly deny it. Lillian had cried, and she would admit it. They had both come a long way from the closed off people they were before they had met and gone through everything they had.
Nine months after that, the O'Connell's welcomed a new member to their family. Lillian and Rick were blessed with a healthy baby boy, Alexander O'Connell. Rick had stayed by her side during labour, but had caused Lillian to laugh, mid-contraction, at him when he complained that he was in a lot of pain because she had his hand in a vice-like grip. Jonathon had been waiting outside, wincing each time he had heard Lillian cry out in pain, quickly scribbling a letter to Evy to let her know that her nephew had been brought into the world. He knew that Lily would forget since she was now a mother.
Lillian and Rick were shocked to find that they took to parenthood rather well. At first. Things got a little more difficult as Alex grew older and began to talk and walk, but his mother soon disciplined him, even when his father seemed intent on teaching him crude ways of talking. Lillian always rolled her eyes when father and son spent any time together, because Rick would always try to teach his on all his American ways, even though they lived in England. Jonathon was living with them, having blown through the money they had received after the Hamunaptra incident.
Seven years later, Alex was eight years old and was incredibly bright and strong-willed, like his mother and aunt, and as strong and brave as his father.
Eight years after the Hamunaptra incident was when Lillian had the first dream. The dream that set in motion another potentially worldwide disaster and nearly cost Lillian and Rick their son.
