Your reviews have been great, as usual!
Thank you so much for all the love :)

Once concern I've seen a lot though is the Delena smut.
I promise you, it will come, soon ;)
But this story isn't about the smut with Delena.

It's more about family, which is why the focus hasn't been on their relationship so much as what is happening in their lives, including Chris's.

Sorry if anyone was disappointed, but I promise, there will be smut, and it will be very soon.

April was having a pretty good time, all things considering.

The girls had made popcorn, and had just finished the second movie of the night's marathon.
Which is when Amber claimed that she was getting bored.

"Well, what do you want to do then?" Briana inquired.
"I don't care...just something different."

Vickie came back over from changing out the DVDs and sat down, "We could always play Truth."
"That game's so old," Madison complained.

Vickie shot her a look, "You got a better idea?"
"I'm actually okay with that," Amber offered.
"Yeah, me too," Briana agreed, looking at April, "You wanna play?"
She shrugged, "Sure."

"Awesome!" Vickie straightened, "So you all know the rules. Any question is allowed. First person to pass loses. And you have to tell the truth."

The all nodded.
This was a game they'd played since grade school.

"Okay, April, you first," Vickie addressed.
April rose a brow, "Okay..."

"How is Chris related to Damon?"

April had to fight the urge to roll her eyes.
Leave it to Vickie to turn this into some questioner to get info.

"Damon is his father," April said offhandedly.
Half the girls already knew, and it wasn't like it was some big secret.

"Are you serious?!" Madison jumped, "Is he really?"
April nodded, "Yep...so um, Briana," she moved on, "When are you going to ask Justin Henderson out?"

The girl blushed at the mention of her long time crush, "How about a quarter to never."
April smirked, "You know, you might have to take the initiative on that one."

She sighed, "Tell me about it...okay, Amber," she turned to the blond, "What's one thing that you can't live without?"
She got off easy, "Probably my cell phone."

Madison chuckled, "Who can?"
"Adults," Amber smirked, "Okay, Madison, your longest crush?"

The game continued like this, until in circled back around to Vickie, who, again, chose April.

"How far have you and Chris gone?" She asked, a smirk on her lips.
April shrugged, "Past first base, if that's what you mean."

Despite the fact that this game could be kind of fun, diving into her personal life with Chris wasn't on the top of the list of things she wanted to do with Vickie Donovan, who she didn't even really like.

"Yeah, but exactly how far?"

April just shot her a look.
Seriously, what was this girl's deal?

"Pass," she finally stated.

Vickie rose a brow, "It's a pretty simple question."
"And I said pass," April defended, "Move on."

Vickie seemed even more intrigued though, "You wouldn't pass unless it was really good, or really bad."
"Whatever," April brushed, trying to ignore her.

"So which is it?" Vickie insisted, "Has the preacher's daughter been getting dirty in the sheets?"
April glared at her then, "I said pass, Vickie. It's really none of your damn business."

"Touchy subject then," Vickie grinned.
"Come on, Vic, let it go," Briana insisted.

The girl ignored her, focusing on April, "Or is it the opposite, hmm? Are you too much of a goody good to give in? Kol was talking about what a tease you were on the way to his house."

April flinched, "I am not a tease."

"So you are fucking Chris then," Vickie shot, "Makes sense, otherwise he would have dumped you already."
"Vickie!" Amber jumped, surprised at the girl.

"What? I'm just saying," Vickie defended herself, "Guys as good looking as him, with a famous parent to boot, isn't going to stick with one girl, especially if she isn't giving it up."

April gave her a dirty look, "That just shows how well you know him."

"How well I know the guys at our school," Vickie interjected, "Including all his friends. What? You don't think Kol and Tyler are the same way, hell, even Jeremy? Because they are. And trust me, I have no doubt that Chris went bragging to them the second you gave it up to him. He probably gets double points for nailing a preacher's daughter."

April rolled her eyes, "What does this even matter to you? This is my relationship with my boyfriend, and it has nothing to do with you, so back the hell off!"

Vickie smirked, as if April was responding exactly as she wanted, "If it's just between you and Chris, then why was Kol's nose bleeding earlier? After you and him disappeared, and you came back with Chris? Don't tell me you're fucking them both."

April shook her head, "Are you really that bored with yourself?! I've never touched Kol. He was drunk off his ass and being an idiot. As for Chris, I trust him, and he trusts me, and our relationship has nothing to do with you or his friends or anybody else!"

"You really think it's so strong?" Vickie scoffed, "He's just another boy, April. Hell, I bet I could even get him to fuck me, just by offering."

April stood, her anger getting the best of her, "I don't have to listen to this."

She walked to the other side of the room, and grabbed her bag.

"Where are you going?" Briana called.
"Home," April spat, picking up her phone and putting it in her pocket, "You can call me tomorrow."

Her friend seemed like she wanted to say more, but knew better than to press the subject.
So April slid out the front door, glad that the adults in the house were already asleep.

Chris was laying on his back, tossing a baseball into the air, and catching it, before repeating the motion.

Tyler and Jeremy were playing Zombies on the Xbox, next to him, as he had politely declined.
Kol hadn't joined them, obviously, but Kyle had.

He was sitting on the floor, leaning against the couch Tyler and Jeremy occupied, watching their game with genuine interest.

They had all decided to just crash here in Tyler's game room.
It had plenty of room for floor pallets, and a mini fridge, and a microwave, not to mention a huge flat screen and surround sound.

It really wasn't a surprise though.
Tyler was a Lockwood after all, a founding family, and they were loaded.

The Salvatore's owned a mansion of equal size, but Grayson and Miranda had kept it simpler.

His mother was the same, and their house was comfortable.
He had everything he needed and more, and he knew better than to be selfish, especially with all his mother had worked so hard to give him.

Still though...he wouldn't mind having a game room of his own, not that he'd ever tell her that.

Tonight, however, he couldn't think about that.
Different thoughts were keeping his mind occupied.

Like his talk with his father.
And how they'd returned to find April and his mother embracing, both in tears.

Chris immediately knew that April had told her what happened, and he was glad that she had at least talked to someone about it.

God, he could kill Kol.

The guy was supposed to be his friend, and drunk or not, what he tried to do to April was over the line.
And he was going to answer for it.

As he stewed over different confrontation scenario's, his phone beeped.
He sat the ball down, then checked the message, and found it was from April.

All it said was S.O.S.

He excused himself, to which the other guys hardly noted, and he exited the room, coming into the massive all, and walked two doors down, past the bathroom, and entered Tyler's room, where it was quieter.

Then he called her.

Luckily she answered on the first ring.
"Hey," she stated.

"Hey, what's up?" He jumped in immediately, "Is everything okay?"
He could feel her hesitance through the phone, "Not exactly."

"What's wrong, babe?" he pressed.

She'd seemed fine when they'd said goodbye earlier, at the Fall Festival, but he had wondered if the whole Kol thing would bother her later.

"I was just hoping we could talk," she admitted.
"Yeah, of course," he nodded, "Talk to me."

She chuckled a little, "No, I mean, in person."
He frowned slightly, "Uh, yeah...but aren't you at-"

"I left," she admitted.
He straightened, "Is everything okay? Where are you?"

She sighed, "No. I got into it with Vickie...it was really stupid, but I got pissed and left. I was going to go home, but it's late, and you know my dad...and I didn't really want to go home yet anyway, so I was just hoping we could hang out...I'm actually almost to Tyler's."

"You walked all that way?" he asked.
"It was just a few miles," she defended.

"At night," he reminded her, "On dark roads, on Halloween...damn it. Okay, I'll meet you outside in a second."
He could hear the slight smile in her voice, "Thank you."

He got off the phone, shaking his head.
The things he did for that girl...

He was already in his sweat pants, and didn't feel like digging out his shirt, so he just grabbed his hoodie and slipped it over his naked torso.

His boots were still downstairs.

He was lucky, in a way, that the house was so big.
No one would hear him leave.
There was an alarm on the front door, but he knew the code, and was able to disarm it quickly, before slipping out the door.

He came out onto the giant pillared porch, and saw April coming up the drive.
He hurried out to her.

"Hey," she greeted.
He noticed right away that she'd been crying, and his arms reached for her reflexively.
She sank into his embrace.

He kissed the top of her head, before spotting the gazebo over by the pond.
"Come here," he told her, grabbing her hand and leading her over there, the moonlight brightening their path.

The sat on the wooden bench, under the flowered arc.

"What happened?" he asked, once she was settled against him.
She shook her head, "It was stupid. Just Vickie running her mouth, as usual...but I just couldn't listen to it. Not after...not after tonight."

He sighed, grabbing her hand, "What was Vickie saying?"

April stared out at the water, "Just juvenile crap. She was wanting to know if I'd fucked you, and was insisting that I was, because that's the only reason you'd stay with me. Then she accused me of cheating on you, with Kol...and also that you were just like any other guy, screwing me for bragging rights because I'm the pastor's daughter, and that she could get you to have sex with her, if she wanted to; all she had to do is offer."

Chris shook his head.
He'd never particularly liked Vickie, but he'd tolerated her, because he knew she ran with some of Tyler and Jeremy's crowd.
Still though, this was ridiculous.

"I'm sorry, baby," he pulled April close.

She'd really had a hell of a night.

"She doesn't know anything about us," he added, "And she had no right to upset you that way."

April shook her head, "I'm not upset really, just angry. I mean, it's so stupid. I don't even get why it matters!"

"It doesn't," he assured her, "It's none of her business what we do. And for the record, Tyler is the only one who knows about us, and that's because he asked. You aren't a bragging right for me, April, I promise."

She nodded, smiling at him, "I never thought I was...I was just emotional and she shook me up with all this crap, and I just needed to see you."
He tightened his arm around her, "Well, I'm right here."

She leaned her head in the crook of his neck, and he just held her, offering her comfort.

After a few minutes she pulled away, "So, I never did ask, how was the talk with your dad?"

He smiled at her, "Long. And I'll tell you about it, but it's getting cold out here...were you wanting to stay, or go home, or what? I can get Tyler to drive you somewhere if you need?"

She shook her head, "I'd rather stay with you."

He kissed her head, "Okay, let's go sneak back in the house then. I'm sure Tyler won't mind harboring you until morning."

She chuckled, "Thanks so much."
He smirked at the sarcasm, before leading her up to the porch, "Any time."

Elena laughed as Damon twirled her.
It was almost midnight, and the band was playing the last of their songs.

She and Damon had been dancing to most of them, out on the makeshift dance floor with a group of others.
However, most had cleared out by now, but she and Damon had kept on dancing.

Finally, the band called for the last song of the night, and the music slowed down.
Elena smiled as Damon smirked at her, extending his hand.

She took it, and he brought her flushed against him.

He was quite skilled at this, she had to admit, and her heartbeat sped up as his arms slid around her waist, allowing no space between them.

His eyes were piercing into hers, and she couldn't look away, as the music played in the background.

"Well you got the soul and you know how to use it
Put your hand on my hip cause you know that I'll lose it
You got my heart racing like there's nothing to it
Falling in love to the beat of the music
Oh oh, why wouldn't I wanna stay?
Oh oh, and let that plane fly away, hey hey..."

She couldn't help but feel as if everything was finally the way it was supposed to be.
Chris and Damon were on good terms, her parents had managed to say goodbye before they left, without Grayson throwing dirty looks at Damon, and now she was in the arms of the man she loved.
Yeah, this was about as good as she wanted it.

"Why are you smiling like that?" Damon teased slightly.

This of course, only made her grin wider, "Because I'm happy."
He smirked a little, "I like that smile. It looks good on you."

She leaned into his chest, swaying as he moved them, "I'm so glad you're here, Damon."
He leaned his head on top of hers, "Me too, Sweetheart, me too."

She smiled against his neck, placing a tiny kiss there, "So this is better than Hollywood?"
She could tell he was smiling, "Loads better."

She kissed him again, "Good."

Something like a growl vibrated his chest, as she attached her lips to him a third time.
"Baby, you might want to stop that," he hinted.

She pulled back enough to see his face, a brow raised, "You don't like it?"
His eyes were darkened, "I like it too much."

She blushed slightly.

It had been a while since she'd even though about turning a man on, and to be honest, knowing that her little innocent kisses had affected him this way...it was kind of empowering.

She smirked, "So I shouldn't do this?"
She kissed his neck again, a little harder this time, nipping at his skin a bit.

His arms on her tightened, "Not unless you really want me to take you here, in the middle of the square with at least sixty people watching."

She blushed again, "No, not really."
"Okay then," he stated gloatingly.

She relented a little, deciding not to torture him too much.
Besides, the fact that they were going home alone was way to clear in her mind right now.

His too apparently, because the moment the song ended, he suggested that they start wrapping the night up.
She nodded, "Okay, I just have to go find your mom, make sure there is nothing else needed."
He gave her a nod, and let go of the hand that he'd been holding, "I'll pull the car around."

It didn't take her long to find Valentina and to make sure everything was taken care of.

The elder woman had waved her off, insisting that they were all ready to go home, and that the cleaning crew would take care of everything in the morning.
Elena nodded, before saying goodnight, just as Damon pulled up.

Val waved to them both, as Elena got into the car.

"Everything okay?" Damon made sure of, as she put on her belt.
She nodded, "Yep. They have a cleaning crew coming in the morning, so my work here is done."

He smiled, then shot his mother a look in the rear view mirror, "Is she going home soon?"
"It sounded like it," Elena nodded, "And your dad was still here, so I don't think he'd let her boss everyone around for too much longer."

Damon grinned, "She gets pissed when he makes her stop. That's her favorite hobby."
Elena chuckled, "And don't we all know it. But at least it gets things done."
Damon allowed her that, as they pulled onto the road leading away from the square.

They were pulling into the drive a few minutes later.
Damon held the door open for her, as she brought in the left over deserts that Caroline had saddled her with.

She walked into the kitchen, flipping on a light, and sat the containers down on the island.
She sighed.

Damon came in then, "You good?"
She nodded, "Yeah...it's just been a long day."

"That it has," he agreed, coming up behind her.
His hands landed on her neck, and she leaned against him as he started massaging her shoulders.

"Mmh, that feels good," she admitted, "But I really need to get this food put up."
He nodded, dropping his hands, "Okay, I'm gonna go lock the front door."

She nodded, then turned to the fridge, opened the door, and moved some things around to make room for the desserts.

Once it was all neatly stacked, she ran a hand through her hair, forgetting it was twisted onto the top of her head.
She sighed, pulling out the bobby pins and letting her curls fall loose.

She liked her hair down better anyway.

After a moment of untangling herself, she could feel Damon's eyes on her.
She shot him a look, as he stood in the entrance way, "What?"

He shrugged, "Nothing...just wondering about the outfit."

Her brows pulled together with worry.
Was it too much, as she had thought? Did she look like a whore? Like she was trying too hard?

God she was going to kill Caroline for talking her into wearing it!
It was probably way to revealing.

She swallowed, "What about it?"

He smirked, taking a step closer to her, "I was trying to decide if it was just happy coincidence, or if you were purposely trying to tease me."

Her insecurities floated away, a grin taking its place.
"Maybe a little of both."

Damon's mouth twitched, as he stepped a little closer, "Didn't your parents ever teach you that teasing isn't nice?"

He was almost within touching distance now, standing at least a head taller than her.
She refused to cave so easily, though, "They may have...but you should know that I don't like doing what I'm told."

He pursed his lips, seeming pleased that she was playing along.
"Those women tend to get into a lot of trouble," he teased her, "So you might want to start."

She lifted her chin, meeting his eyes, "Make me."
And his blue eyes turned black.
