Chapter 19

*April first. Time twenty past five PM*

(Ivy's POV)

"She has to be here! She just has to be!" Ivy cried as she searched for someone.

"Ivy we'll find her. We will find her!" Batman called to her in as much panic as Ivy.

"You know this guy Batman! He'll kill her and dress her up like a doll!" Ivy cried

"I know! But we'll get her back before that!" Batman reassured her

(Harley's POV)

*hours earlier; fifteen minutes past seven AM*

"Morning Miss Harley. I've drawn you a bath." Sonia bowed to her Master's future wife.

"Thanks Sonia…but could you actually run me a bath. I'm not in the mood for April Fool's day." Harley smiled but turned slightly sour.

"Oh, of course Miss Harley; I didn't mean to upset you." Sonia quickly apologised and went into the bathroom to get it started.

"No harm done." Harley smiled as she rubbed the sand from her eyes. She went downstairs to get herself some breakfast. As she entered the kitchen she rummaged around for some muesli, she needed the energy for today. "Okay…muesli should be…here." She said grabbing an opened box of muesli. "*sigh* nice try Tim, I'm not falling for this." She flipped the box upside down showing a bag containing a large unopened bag of sugar. She was accustomed to this sort of tomfoolery due to her time with The Joker.

"Morning Harley" Dick said going for a mug of coffee. "Excited for your big day?"

"Yeah…" she said dreamily with a smile "but at this point I want to survive today."

"Oh…kay…someone got on the wrong side of the bed today." Dick said pouring his hot water into his mug.

"It's not the wrong side of anything…it's April Fool's day…not my favourite holiday." Harley explained

"Ah…I forgot…look I didn't mean anything by it. It's just you've been with Bruce for so long…" Dick tried to apologise

"Come sit down, I'm not mad." Harley smiled letting Dick sit in his chair.

"Thanks Harley…hmm?" Dick wondered then he did a spit take into his mug "Hot chocolate? But I was sure…Tim…" Dick wondered then came to a realisation with a smile.

"Does he do this often?" Harley smiled

"Just once a year; he'll stop by twelve." Dick explained

"Miss Harley…your bath." Sonia entered explaining her bath had been drawn properly.

Harley turned and smiled at Sonia "Thank you Sonia. Oh, be careful where you tread; I'm guessing this place has a hundred little tricks up its sleeves today." As she left for the bathroom.

(Dick's POV)

Sonia bowed thanking her friend; she then went on to find each one and un-April Fool's it. "Okay...spoons in the knife draw and forks in the...where'd the forks go?" she pondered

Dick just looked on in a relaxed grin "Some things don't change." He took another sip from his drink and remembered as the beverage touched his lips "Hmm. I forgot: hot chocolate."

(Ivy's POV)

Ivy had been up for the last hour tending her plants in her and Bruce's gardens. She remembered the bouquet from last time and remembered the symbolism behind some of them: revenge, redemption, betrayal, sorrow and finally pain and grief. Obviously someone hated Bill long enough to research plant symbolism. "Mum...is everything okay?" Venus asked behind her rubbing sand out of her eyes.

"Yes my flower. Everything is okay...it's just that it's: April fool's day. Your Aunt Harley isn't the biggest fan." Ivy explained

"Because of Joker?" Venus asked not really knowing about the psychotic clown, except the vague tales that: Tim, Harley, Bruce, Dick, Barbara and her own mother would allow her knowing.

Ivy nodded continuing to tend to the garden "Venus why don't you get some breakfast? I'll be in shortly."

"Mum, are you okay?" Venus asked rubbing her hair. Ivy didn't turn around she just continued to spray the flowers. "You miss dad don't you?" Venus asked after a few seconds silence.

Ivy turned from that and nodded "Every day. Even when we're together...it seems he's become more and more distant. I don't know if he's really all there anymore."

Venus hugged her mother to comfort her "He promised to come back home, I've got a feeling that he'll come back."

Ivy smiled and she turned to face her daughter "how did you get so smart?" she smiled

"I've got a great mum and aunt." She smiled hugging her mother.

(Tim's POV)

Tim awoke after only a few hours of sleep, he was worn out from pulling some small pranks on the household: switching the knives, forks and spoons around, putting bags of sugar in cereal boxes, hiding pillows; all harmless stuff that can be easily undone. Groaning as he stretched he got out of bed hoping to see the fruits of his labours be revealed, he tiptoed down and heard Sonia and Dick.

"Okay...spoons in the knife draw and forks in the...where'd the forks go?" point one Tim as he gleamed

Some things never change. Hmm; I forgot: hot chocolate." He heard Dick groan in a jovial manner. Point two Tim.

Finally Tim entered and pretended, or at least he thought he did, to yawn "Morning..."

"Morning prankster." Dick said with a chocolate moustached smile

Tim gave a stifled laugh when he saw Dick's moustache. "I, I don't know what you mean."

"Come on Tim, where are the forks?" Dick didn't fool around but Tim remained silent still holding back his small laughs.

"I've got them. They were in the dish washer." Sonia spoke triumphantly

Dick looked at Tim like an older brother and shook his head while smiling "You've got to find better hiding spaces."

"Okay two things." Tim began to list off "One: I didn't move anything. And two: the jokes aren't hurting anyone."

"It's more Harley you should be more considerate for. This sort of day brings up some bad memories." Dick warned him.

"That's why I only limited it to the kitchen. Oops." Tim accidently confessed then realising it.

"Gotcha." Dick smiled

*hours passed and it was already three forty seven (3:47) or (15:47)*

(Bruce's POV)

"So with April Fool's day time limit finally over what do you want to do Harley?" Bruce asked over the phone.

"Go to sleep until the twenty third and get married to you." Harley's voice sighed with a loving tone

"That sounds really tempting." Bruce smiled and heard the door open to his secretary Debra placing a large file down on Bruce's desk, the nodded in thanks and let her leave. "How about this: we go to the zoo. Let's be honest we need some sort of escape."

"Yeah…*yawn* that sounds great…" Harley yawned as she dropped off to sleep with the phone dropping off in her hand.

"Goodnight Harley." Bruce said softly as he hung up the phone.

(Ivy's POV)

Ivy and Venus were working in the gardens again after breakfast and entered the home, something wasn't right. "Venus, try and find someone and be careful." She warned her daughter.

"Okay." Venus answered and carefully looked around.

Venus went off in one direction while Ivy went into the kitchen she saw that Alfred, Dick, Tim and Sonia were asleep. "Hey, hey wake up! What's going on?" she tried to get her enemies turned friends awake. Then she smelt something…something that had no effect on her "Sleeping gas? Why would…Harley!" she ran out to find her best friend and found that the phone was still in her hand "Harley! Harley, wake up!"

"Hmm…what is it?" Harley yawned

"The house has been filled with sleeping gas! We have to get out!" Ivy panicked

"What?" Harley rubbed the sleep from her eyes "Where's Venus?" she asked with concern

"Oh god, Venus? Venus where are you?" Ivy shouted she looked out the window and saw something that no parent should she.

(Venus's POV)

Venus looked around the different rooms trying to find her aunt, she looked upstairs then back down to the main lounge, she saw her sleeping there with the phone out of her hand; but there were two other people there; a person whom she never saw before. "Who are you? What are you doing here? What do you want?" she asked

The stranger answered "Why my dear…I'm here for you."

And with that Venus was knocked out with a blow to her head. The room was left untouched and she was carted off to she didn't know where. She was scared, scared of: what will come to pass, who these people were and terrified if she would wake up in a strange place. 'Dad, mum, anyone; save me!' she thought as she blacked out.

(Bill's POV)

The mission was far from a complete success; yes, the mission was complete, but Copperhead went and killed more than the recommended number of guards, the recommended number being zero. Bill couldn't focus during the crucial moment as his mind was on other things. "Well that could've been worse." Deadshot quipped

"Give the kid a break; it's not easy being in a team with specialised killers when he hasn't killed anyone himself." Deathstroke explained as they approached the new Head Quarters

The sound of slow clapping filled the empty room "Very good, very good." Waller's voice was the one that followed the claps "You've managed to piss off several politicians, army sergeants, killed several guards and civilians and made a fool of me…well done." She walked over to her team, Bill couldn't be bothered to pay attention but looked up anyways "So tell me: why was my team in such bad form?"

Bill knew it was because of him, he hadn't gotten around the defection of the Squad because Waller was looking over each and every one of them intently ever since Firefly. "I'm the one that screwed up the mission. It's my fault." Bill spoke up.

"Very good Hyde; now how do we rectify this?" she pondered "I know…how about you: WAKE THE HELL UP AND START ACTING LIKE A TEAM PLAYER!" Waller yelled while she swung a baseball bat into Hyde's head knocking him to the floor. "I know your helmet took most of the blow but let it be a warning to you: I'm not stupid. And I hate looking like a fool." She warned her technical human pet.

As she left Hyde got back up and hobbled back to his quarters. The others left him alone except Frost; she still had feelings for the scarred individual as she entered he had his helmet off trying to rub where Waller hit his head "Thinking about who you left behind again?" she asked

"Something like that." Bill answered slipping the helmet back on

"I could help with the pain." She meant in a less sensual and friendlier way than usual.

"I appreciate it. But I'm fine Louise." Bill answered as he logged on to his laptop and noticed that a red dot was moving exceptionally fast. "Oh my god…Venus no!" Bill gasped as his eyes widened under the helmet.

"Who's Venus? Hyde what's going on?" she questioned as Bill took his gauntlets and a handmade tracking device.

"Hey Hyde; Where's the fire?" Copperhead asked as she was brushed off as Bill forced his way past her. "The hell?"

"Hyde? What's going…?" Deathstroke asked as Bill got into a car.

"He does remember that he can't drive?" Copperhead questioned with a cynical tone but as she heard the car speed off her jaw dropped.

Inside the car that was going ninety miles per hour Hyde looked at the tracker and spoke in terror "Hold on baby girl. Hold on!"

(Killer Frost's POV)

"Well chalk that one off as Hyde going against the grain." Deadshot spoke in awe.

"What's possessed him to do that?" Copperhead wondered

Frost immediately went into Hyde's room and saw his second tracker. On it were two dots, one red and one blue. The blue one was a ways off from the red one. "I think it's something to do with this." Frost explained
