"Umm, could you go find Healer Laurence and tell him that Rose Wealsey is awake please?" Rose blushed.
"So you could hear everything whilst you were comatose" Healer Laurence asked for the 4th time.
"Yes" Rose sighed. She was happy that she was awake, considering that it had irritated her to no end that she could hear everything being said about her and her family (very bitchy junior healers she assumed) but couldn't open her eyes or move anything. "Any more questions, Healer Laurence?" she sighed in a bored tone.
"Just the one" he smiled excitedly. Honestly, he is such a child, Rose thought to herself, clutching his clipboard and gripping his pen like it's going to run away from him. "What changed to make you wake up"
"I started to feel something in my hand" she explained. "I couldn't feel anything whilst comatose, but then just before Scorpius started talking to me, I could suddenly feel like a warm weight pressing down on my hand"
"I was holding your hand" Scorpius muttered beneath his breath.
"So it wasn't the fact that Scorpius was talking to you, it was the fact that you could feel warmth?" the Healer looked confused.
"No, I think it was a bit of both. I guessed that the pressure was Scorpius, so naturally I wanted to push back to let him know I'd be ok" Rose smiled slightly.
"But you didn't push back, you waited until I had made a complete prat out of myself to scare the daylight out of me" Scorpius raised his eyebrows and Rose smirked.
"So you think it was the contact, and also the fact that it was Scorpius? Interesting." Laurence began muttering to himself after that. Rose listened intently, but only caught a few words. The healer continued to mutter to himself as he left the room.
"Bond, strange, powerful, connection, incredible" Scorpius said as the door shut.
"You were listening too?"
"Yeah. I guess we'll have to wait until we find out what he means" Scorpius sat down on a chair. Rose was sat cross-legged on her hospital bed.
"So this new hacking thing?" Rose asked, jumping down from the bed and sitting carefully on Scorpius' lap. "What have we gathered about it?"
"All I know is that you have to be awake, and I'm going to guess that it's so that you can break the mental barriers you've put up" he thought aloud, one hand winding around Rose's waist and the other fiddling with a wave of auburn hair that had worked its way out of the plait down her back.
"But that's all we've got?"
"Yup. But hopefully you'll be able to start that tomorrow, so it'll all be done soon enough"
"I wonder how long it takes. I mean, hacking normally takes up to 2 weeks, but if this is untested and I'd have to be awake, maybe it's only a day or two.."
"NO CHANCE IN HELL AM I MISSING 3 MONTHS OF SCHOOL!" Rose skrieked, at the exact time her mother also screeched "SHE'LL MISS HER EXAMS, NO WAY ON EARTH IS THAT HAPPENING".
Healer Laurence looked from one angered Weasley to the other. Seeing the enraged women, he turned to Ron and Scorpius for help. He didn't get any.
"No" Ron glared. "She has exams to do, and you haven't even tested it. She'll survive"
"We really think it's in Rose's best interests to have the treatment" Laurence started, but Rose cut him off.
"I'm not sitting in this room for another 3 months. I have missed enough school already for this bloody thing. I'm going back to school right now, and you can't stop me because I'm 17" she growled, before standing up and pulling Scorpius with her.
"Rose, please sit down. We have much to discuss" Laurence tried to no avail.
"No! No more discussions, questions or lectures on what is good for my health. I don't need this, as I have my own methods of sorting it" she scowled.
"I'll take her to my parent's" Scorpius said quietly to Hermione as he watched Rose storm out the room. "Apparate over when you've finished telling Healer Laurence that he has no chance in winning this argument" he said before leaving the room as well.
He found Rose just along the corridor, kicking the wall. "You've got enough mental damage, you don't need any damage to your feet" he chuckled. His face froze as Rose whirled around and pointed her wand in her face, a wild glint in her eyes.
"Don't you even joke about this, Malfoy" she glowered. Then she burst into tears.
"Woah! Woah! Don't cry!" he pulled her into a hug as her knees sunk beneath her.
"How do I fix this Scorp? My solution is you, and no offense, but this isn't exactly permanent at the moment is it?" she cried softly into his jumper. Scorpius debated this for a moment.
"We'll sort it out, don't worry" he consoled her. "Now, we can't apparate to Hogwarts, and you won't want to go back right this second, so how about we go to my parents?" He felt her nod against his chest, so turned on his heels and apparated them away.
"Dad? Mum?" Scorpius called as they appeared by the door.
"Scorp?" Astoria's voice could be heard from upstairs.
"Yeah, it's me. Rose is here. Can you come down?"
"Be two minutes! Go into the kitchen!"
Scorpius sat Rose down on one of the chairs around the kitchen table before beginning to search the cupboards for tea. He boiled to kettle and made 4 cups of tea. He levitated them all across to the table before sitting next to Rose and holding her hand. She had already grabbed a cup of tea and was gratefully sipping it. "It'll be alright" he said, rubbing a hand on her back. She leant into his touch.
Astoria walked in a minute later, sat opposite the couple and pulled a mug towards her. She quickly glanced around before casting a quick accio and retrieving a plate of biscuits. Draco walked in as the biscuits hovered over to the table. He grabbed one off the plate before sitting next to his wife.
"So, what're you both doing in my kitchen?" he asked.
"We left Mungo's when they told us Rose would be hospitalised for 3 months for expermineting" Scorpius explained. Draco frowned.
"What experimenting exactly?"
"New untested hacking. Hermione was against it anyway but when they told us all it's take at least 3 months, both Wealsey women started screaming then we left" Scorpius smirked. He got a slap on the chest from Rose for the comment about her and her mum.
"Ah, I see. So what now?"
"Well, we head back to school I guess" Scorpius said, sipping his tea. He wrinkled his nose before adding another sugar. "Rose doesn't want to do the experimenting when we have a solution at the moment"
"And that is?"
"Scorp" Rose said, smirking slightly. Draco grinned as he recognised the Malfoy smirk on her face. He liked this girl already, but now he was beginning to like her even more.
"Scorpius is your solution?" Astoria smiled. Scorpius groaned, he knew what was coming next. "That's so cute" his mum cooed.
"Mum, shhhh" Scorpius groaned lightly.
"So you'll be heading back to school later then?"
"Yeah, I think so. We'll have to check with Rose's mum and dad, who by the way, I've invited over" Scorpius grinned as the doorbell went. Draco glared at his son.
"You could have given me more warning that they were coming" he complained, getting up. Rose had to fight a giggle as she watched Draco cast many charms as he left to clear up any sign of untidiness in his house.
"He's a neat freak" Scorpius laughed, seeing Rose's face. "So he's more worried that he's got visitors and a messy house more than who the visitors are" he grinned.
"Draco! Lovely to see you again!" they heard Hermione's voice drift down the hall. They heard Ron's slightly stiff "Draco" and could almost hear the short head nod that followed. Moments later, the three adults walked into the kitchen. After another round of greetings from Astoria, the two newcomers sat at the table also. Astoria summoned Dipsey (Hermione stiffened slightly, but when Rose explained that the elf was treated as family, she relaxed), who made the Weasleys teas, then they all sat down and started talking.
"After you two left, Laurence started going at us" Ron explained, "saying that you'd have to come back and start treatment tomorrow. Then Mione just stood up and slapped him across the face." Draco let out a strangled cough which sounded mysteriously like a laugh. "Then she just calmly said 'You no longer have my permission to treat my daughter. If you so much as mention it again, I have connections who will tear you to pieces in court' and left."
"Thanks mum" Rose smiled. "So I can go back to school with Scorp later then?"
"Yes. I've sent a patronus to Minerva and she says that you should both floo to her office by Hogwarts dinner time"
"So if we go back a bit before that, we can clean up a bit" Rose nodded.
"Well, I'd suggest you floo back within the hour then" Hermione said. "It's just gone 3 and dinner's still 5 isn't it?"
"Yeah. Um, Scorp, can I use your loo?" Rose asked.
"Yeah, of course. I'll show you where it is, as you probably won't remember exactly where it is" he said, standing up and leading her out of the room.
As the door closed, Draco turned to Hermione and Ron. "So what did they really say about them?"
"They were amazed she woke up" Ron said. "They think that they must have one of the greatest inter-wizard bonds to ever exist, which they think is really strange for two 17 year olds, and that they must have a 'very powerful connection' I think was how he phrased it, and that together they will work wonders" he smiled.
"I'm so proud of them both" Hermione added. "Rose couldn't have done it without him, Draco."
"I know. I'm surprised they get on so well really" he said, "considering we hated each other for so long" he said rather sheepishly.
"Romeo and Juliet" Hermione laughed. The reference was lost on the three purebloods. "Muggle thing" she muttered.
