THEN WILL YOU MARRY ME?
Rose looked around for Scorpius, but couldn't find him. She jumped as she heard a throat clearing below her. Scorpius was down on one knee, holding out a small box with the most gorgeous ring inside.
"Rose Wealsey, I love you, and I think you might love me too. Marry me?" He grinned up at her. Rose sunk to the floor on her knees. "Hun, are you alright" he asked, his face contorting with concern. He sighed as Rose wrapped her arms around him and pressed her lips onto his.
"Of course I'll marry you, you idiot" she laughed, tears falling down her face as she kissed him again. The students and parents went mad. The whole of the 7th years stood up and charged the stage, picking up the two lovers and carrying them around the Quidditch pitch.
"HANG ON A MINUTE!" Ron Weasley's voice echoed around the pitch. Everyone stopped and stared at him, standing on the edge of the stands. "SHE HASNT PUT THE BLOODY THING ON YET!" He said, indicating to the ring still in Scorpius' hand. The students set the pair down, and Scorpius slipped it onto her finger.
"Let the celebrations begin!" He said, firing another spark into the sky, where the real firework display started. Not that Rose or Scorpius watched it. Rose practically dived onto Scorpius, securing his lips with her own.
"I love you" she said, looking up into his eyes. She could see the fire burning in them.
"I love you too" he said, wrapping his arm around her waist. "I do have another surprise for you though"
"What now?" She asked, amazed.
"How would you like to go to Majorca for a week this holiday, before we start back here?"
"OH MY MERLIN YES!" She cried, engulfing him in a hug again. She released him as she heard someone cough behind them. She lifted he head to see both of their parents beaming. Rose let go of Scorpius, and fell into the arms of her mum. "You're all set for life now!" She said, tears flowing down her face. "Let me see that ring" Rose held out her left hand proudly. The elegant ring was two rings of silver twisted together, a round diamond held between them. "It's beautiful" Rose said, crying with her mum. "Mum, I'm getting married"
"You have to tell Hugo and Lily"
"I can't wait. Everyone will be over the moon!"
"Scorpius, my darling, well done!" Astoria said, enveloping her son in a tight embrace.
"I know, I'm getting married" he said, still stunned. "I can't believe she actually said yes"
"Of course she was going to say yes! She loves you" Astoria smiled at Rose, who was now in a bone crushing hug with her dad.
"Well done Scorp" Draco smiled at him, pulling in for a hug.
"Thanks dad. You never give me hugs" he commented, still shocked.
"I do when you ask your dream girl to marry you and she says yes" Draco beamed. "Your speech was good too"
"That was all Leo" Scorpius laughed. He stood back from his parents and looked up at them. "Did you manage to sort the flat?"
"It's all ready for you two" Astoria beamed. "Me and your father have left it with just base coats and basic furniture, as we figured Rose would want to decorate herself."
"Thank you so much" he beamed. "Here she comes now" he smiled as Rose ran at him, her parents walking behind her.
"Hi Astoria, Draco" she beamed.
"Hi to you too, daughter in law to be" Draco grinned, pulling Rose in for a hug, which she happily returned. Both Astoria and Hermione made little happy squeaks at the term "daughter in law".
"Thank you, Scorpius" Ron said, clapping a hand on his shoulder. "You've made her very happy"
"I hope to continue doing so, sir" he smiled as Rose then hugged his mum, both of them crying.
"Ron" he said. "You're marrying my daughter, I think it's time you called me Ron"
"Thanks, Ron" Scorpius said, the name feeling funny on his tongue. Rose stood beside him and slipped her hand into his.
"I want to find Lily and Hugh, then we can go home" she beamed. "Talking of which, where is home?"
"A small flat just outside London" Scorpius said, Rose's mouth falling open. "My parents sorted it as a graduation treat. Also, as an engagement present, if you said yes" he beamed.
"I officially love your parents"
"You loved us anyway, Rose" Draco laughed from his conversation with Rose's parents.
"True" she shrugged. "So, can I find Lils and Hugh?"
"Yeah, I'll come with you" Scorpius said. "I'm sure the parents won't mind".
On their way back to the castle, they were stopped by what seemed like everyone. Parents and students alike offered their congratulations. When they found Al and his parents, they stayed and chatted for a good 5 minutes before Scorpius gently reminded Rose where she was aiming to go. They were next stopped by Leo and the Scamander twins, all offering their congratulations and hugging Rose. Scorpius hugged Leo, thanking him for all his help, then did the same with the twins. With a promise to send them postcards and presents from their holiday, they said goodbye and headed up to the castle. As they came through the entrance hall, they ran into a lot of their professors.
"Congratulations" Professor McGonagall said with a warm smile. "I hope you enjoy your holidays, no doubt they'll be filled with joy" she said.
"We're holidaying, then back for NEWTs and then hopefully a wedding within a year" Scorpius beamed.
"Within a year?" Rose raised an eyebrow.
"If I had my way, I'd marry you tomorrow, but mum said you'd hex me into pieces if I didn't let you plan your own wedding"
"Your mums a wise woman" Professor Parkinson said. "Congratulations on your engagement, and indeed your graduating" she said. "Rose, you may want to change your fiancé's hair back" she pointed at Scorpius' red hair.
"Oh yeah" Rose said, flicking her wand. "I prefer it blond anyway" she said.
"I must go find your parents" Professor Longbottom said, "but congratulations, and I'll see you both in September, if not before" he beamed, quickly hugging Rose.
"Thanks Uncle Nev" she said, hugging him back. He then shook Scorpius' hand and disappeared outside.
"I'm sorry Professors, but if you'll kindly excuse us, we have to go and find a certain brother and cousin" Scorpius said.
"They are all up in their common rooms" McGonagall said. "We figured that an early curfew was necessary to keep the fireworks to the 7th years only"
They said thank you, then ran up the stairs to the Gryffindor common room. Rose opened the door and was amazed by the number of people inside.
"CONGRATULATIONS!" was screamed at them by everyone. Rose stumbled slightly, and Scorpius caught her.
"McGonagall told them" he said, "because I certainly didn't"
"Congratulations Rosie!" Lily screamed, wrapping her cousin in a hug.
"Congrats, Scorp" Hugo said, waiting for Lily to release Rose, who was slowly suffocating. "Lils, let her breathe, or there won't be a wedding to get excited about"
"Thank you so much Scorpius" Lily beamed, letting Hugo in to hug Rose.
"It's nothing. You could have guessed I was going to ask her"
"We watched the fireworks out of the window in the dorms" Lily said, "so we knew it had to be you"
"If anyone else had asked her I would've hexed them into oblivion" Scorpius said.
"Well, we better let you and Rosie go, don't want to miss your graduation!" Lily said as Hugo gave a final hug to his sister.
"We're done here actually" Rose said. "We're hopefully going back to our flat" she beamed at Scorpius.
"He got you a flat?!" Hugo exclaimed.
"Yeah, I got us as flat" Scorpius shrugged. "Now if you'll excuse us, we have to go and get our stuff then we are going to investigate this new flat"
"Sounds like a plan" Rose grinned, taking his hand and dragging him out of the common room.
They walked hand in hand down to their shared living quarters.
"So what's this flat like?" Rose asked.
"Well, it's not too different to this space really. The bedroom's about the same size as ours, and the lounge and kitchen/diner combined are about as big as the common room" Scorpius said as they opened the door. "Then on top of that there's a bathroom, a bit smaller than this one, and a hallway between all the rooms"
"It sounds perfect"
"Well, we can sleep there tonight and decorate tomorrow" Scorpius said as they picked up their fully packed trunks from their bedroom. He offered Rose his arm, which she automatically wrapped a hand around, and they stepped into the floo together.
