Harry Potter in an Undead World

A/N: I could not recover my chapters so I had to rewrite them. Hopefully they will be just as good as before. Sorry It has taken so long but that is life.

Chapter 4: The first weird encounter.

August 26, 2012; 3:00 p.m.

Leaving Diagon Alley.

Harry and company walked out of Gringotts and headed for the Leakey Cauldron and the exit into Muggle London. On they way they spotted Ginny with her husband Dean, coming towards them. Harry immediately started walking faster, he still did not want to be around Ginny. For someone who was married, she just couldn't get it through her head that Harry didn't like her anymore. He just didn't want to be around someone who was so manipulative, greedy and coniving that they would use a love potion to try and snag them. It made him wonder how Dean had ended up with the whore of Gryffindor. He was almost to the Cauldron when she intercepted him.

"hello Harry." she said batting her eyelashes.

"Ginny."

"Fancy meeting you here."

"well, it wasn't much of a secret, as Ron and the twins knew we were coming here today." he said rolling his eyes, thinking that she coudn't be any more obvious.

"Yes, well... Dean and I decided to see what you were up to, since we haven't seen you in ages."

"We were just leaving." Forge said.

"No time for chit chat." Gred replied.

"Have lots of thing to do today, and not much time for small talk." Neville put in.

"and..you were not invited, so Tah, Tah, for now." Luna said while grabbing Harry's arm and walking into the Cauldron.

Everyone else followed without a second glance, leaving Ginny and Dean standing in the middle of the street with gobsmacked looks on their faces. Suddenly Hermione was there looking at the couple wondering what happened.

"Hermione, what is up with Harry?" Dean asked.

"I'm not sure, but he has been acting strangely the last couple of days. bought himself a new trunk, and then took all his stuff out of Gringotts. Well, everything except money that is. He even kicked me out of his vault, when all I was doing was making sue he didn't take questionable books. Honestly!"

"Let me get this straight, you told Harry, who is an adult by the way, that he couldn't do something or have something, and he kicked you out of HIS vault." Dean said.

"Yes."

"What is it with you? How would you like it it someone told you that you couldn't read six books in one day, and would only let you have one, maybe two? I bet you would throw one of your super storm tantrums or lectures and then do it anyway, because Hermione Granger is always right." Dean accused.

"No...it is not like that. I'm only looking out for Harry." she said.

"Because Dumbledore said to, and even though the man is dead, you are still doing it. Are you going to go and run to Minerva and tattle too?"

"That is not fair!"

"Yes it is a fair assessment. get over yourself Granger. You are not the world's authority on everything Harry." He said and walked away with Ginny, who had a very contemplative look on her face.l

Little did Ginny know that what little information she did glean from the conversation would not be helping her out in the future. She would not get the chance to implement any plans to sink her claws into Harry, nor be invited into his home, she would however be trying desperately to remain alive, and unharmed in the coming weeks.

Harry and company made it out of the Leakey Cauldron and walked down he street, towards the movies. They were discussing what type of movie to watch, and everyone had a different opinion.

"I say we watch an action movie." Ron said.

"No a comedy." the twins suggested.

"A romance." piped in Luna.

"An epic adventure." Neville said.

"Why don't we just see what is playing when we get there, that way we can decide on what to watch once we see what is available." Harry said.

"Sounds good to me." they all chorused.

They made it to the movies in record time and looked up at the kiosk. There were three movies to choose from and they started to debate once again. After about five minutes they made their choice on an action adventure, "The Expendables 2", and went into watch. Little did they know that shortly, their world would be on the brink of destruction and only a few would survive the coming chaos.

Location: London Museum

Valerie was manning the reception desk when a non-descript man walked in, he was wearing a dark grey suit and had sunglasses on. He sided up to the desk and placed in left hand on the counter, tapped three times and said, "The falcon is the enemy."

"Only if you fly too high." valerie replied.

"Good, I'm glad that you are the right person. Where is the package?" he asked.

valerie pulled out eh cooler and placed it on the counter, she they pulled out a thick manilla envelope and put it on top. The agent grabbed them, and turned to leave, "Agent V, remember you have no idea how the data left, I was not here," he said.

"Of course Agent F. I know nothing."

He nodded at her and then made his way out of the building and headed for his car. He placed the cooler into the trunk, got into the car and headed to the airport. He had a private plane to catch and did not want to be late. Umbrella would not be happy if he didn't make it to the lab as quickly as possible. Bio weapons were highly unpredictable at best, and they needed all the time they could get in order to get it just right. Accidents were unacceptable, and so were delays. He only had a small window in which to get the data to Umbrella Corp., and refused to be volunteered for any experiments should he not make it on time. He had to be there by 4:00 p.m. latest or that is what would happen. He raced through the streets, nearly getting caught by some lights, and just barely made it to the airport with minutes to spare. He ran to his drop off point and all but threw the cooler and envelope at the agent waiting.

"Gold is the only worthy color." he said.

"Red is the new green." the agent replied as he caught the items.

"Thought you weren't going to make it. Would have been a shame if I had to volunteer you. You are a great transporter, one of the best. There may be more data for you to pick up here. Keep your phone on." the agent said.

"Will do. Tell Weskler I'll keep my eyes open incase something appears."

The agent nodded, and headed into the plane. In about six hours he would be in the US, and the data would be in Umbrella's hands. He didn't know that the hours of exposure in close proximity to the meteorite would create a problem for him. He just assumed that he was safe from whatever was inside. He didn't realize that some of the material was in the envelope and that he would be infected as it slowly seeped through onto his clothes. He would die a slow agonizing death, but before that he would be volunteered himself, and that he ultimately would cause the bio-weapon to be created, but not perfected. Someone else would cause the mutations, and someone else would be the cure.

Location: London Park Area

More and more people were calling for ambulances to come and pick up bums. It seemed like there was some kind of flu going around the homeless population, and nobody wanted to catch anything from some nameless, faceless bum. Some people just looked the other way when they saw a homeless person crash into a car, or throw up on the side of a building. The only time help was called for was when one of the bums actually bumped into a normal citizen, or caused damage. It is strange how people will ignore a problem until it is right in their faces, and that is what most Londoners did. They ignored the homeless, the sick and destitute until they couldn't. Several people had to return home to get cleaned up, and a couple of people went to the hospital with the bums, just to make sure they weren't going to get sick. all in all it looked like the majority of the homeless were left to their own devices, and so naturally that meant there was little they could do to help themselves. Slowly they stopped ambling into cars and people, and just found someplace to sit and wait for death. What they didn't realize themselves was that they wouldn't stay dead.

Location: Movie house

Harry and company had just exited the movies and were deciding on where to go shopping, when a strangely dressed man stumbled out of the alley. He looked sickly pale, and greasey. He had vomit down the front of his clothes, and he headed straight towards Harry's group.

"Bloody Hell!" Ron said as the bum stumbled into him.

"He's filthy." Gred said.

"Yes, let's clean him up." Forge said.

Luna cast a quick scourgify, and the bum was cleaned up. He was feaverish, and mumbling to himself, as he tried to stand. He grabbed onto Ron.

"Get off...will you."

"He is infested with creeping needlebums. He should be in the hospital." Luna said.

"Let me call the hospital," Harry said as he reached for his phone, "Hello..yes, this is an emergency. I have a homeless man here that decided to bump into us. He looks feverish, and he smells like he has been sick on himself. No he hasn't thrown up on us. No he hasn't done anything to us yet. He is just really, really sick. We are right in front of the movies by Charring Cross Road. Ok, when will they be here? Ok."

"Well...what did they say?" Neville asked.

"They will be here in about ten minutes. Seems there has been some kind of flu outbreak among the homeless, and the hospital has been picking them up all day."

"So, we have to wait here until they get here." Neville said.

"Yes."

"Be careful Ron. You don't want to get infected by the creeping needlebums. Just put him on the ground and back away from him until the ambulance gets here." Luna said.

Ron laid him down on the ground and slowly backed away from him. Suddenly they could hear the sirens, and the ambulance was making its way down the street. It pulled up in front of them, and two men jumped out the back. They quickly got the stretcher and had the homeless man in the back and then they were off.

"That was." Gred said.

"Fast." Forge said.

"Literally." they said together.

"Well, if it is an epidemic, then they would want to get them to the hospital quickly." Harry replied.

Out of nowhere Hermione appeared.

"What do you want now?" Harry asked.

"well, I wanted to apologize about my behaviour earlier, and to see if I could come shopping with you." Hermione said.

"Ok, apologize then we will see what happens."

"I'm sorry Harry, I shouldn't have just assumed that you didn't know what you were doing. I just worry about you. I know that you are an adult and more capable than the rest of us at defending yourself, but I still worry. I'm sorry. Your things are your things, and I shouldn't tell you what you can or can't keep."

"Apology accepted. Now do you want to come shopping with us?"

"Yes please, If you don't mind." she said.

"We were just trying to figure out where to go, when some homeless person bumped into Ron." Harry said.

"What happened?"

"some bum came out of the alley and was really sick. He stumbled into me and Harry called the ambulance." Ron said.

"Yeah, the hospital said there seems to be a flu going around and all the homeless are sick, so if we see any others to call them. Been going on since early today."

"Wait a minute...How did you call the hospital I don't see a phone box, and I've never seen you with a cell phone?" Hermione said.

"Just because you have never seen my phone, doesn't mean that I don't have one, nor how to use it." Harry said as he pulled his phone out of his pocket, flipped it open and started looking on the internet.

"Wow, I didn't think magic and phones worked. Everything seems to blow up if it isn't the old tech. How did you get it to work? Did you enchant it? Where did you get it? Can I get one? You have to show me..."

"Hermione...you are doing it again!" Neville shouted, and Luna looked like she was sucking on a lemon.

"Sorry.."

"I'll tell you all about it later. Now, How about the mall and then Harrods?" Harry said.

"Fine with us Harry. where ever you want to go, we will follow." The twins said, as the bowed to Harry.

"Oi...just knock it off for a bit. People at the mall won't understand you two," Harry said slapping the twins lightly on the head, "follow me guys. The mall it is."

The walked the couple of blocks to the mall and went in. Everyone besides Harry and Hermione stood there with their mouths open, staring at all the sites and sounds.

"This place is huge." Ron said.

"The must have everything. Looks like they put all the shopping districts from diagon, and Hogsmead in here." Neville said.

"This is only the beginning, wait until we actually get going in here." harry said.

"What do we do first?" Forge said.

"I say we just look around and see what catches our fancy." Gred said.

"I do believe..."

"We are in..."

"heaven." The intoned together.

"follow Harry."Luna just said in her ddreamy way.

"Ok guys, let's shop." Harry said and then they were off into the mall for mega shopping.

"Remember, we have a couple of hours of shopping to do, and then you guys will finally get to see my new house. So get what you want. It will be all sorted when we get home. Winky and Dobby will get it into place, so just call them once you have what you want."

Hermione looked skeptically at Harry, but then was distracted by the book store.

"No Hermione. You may not get books, movies, or music. I have one of every book, movie, and music disc already. You may buy anything else you want, just let me know." Harry said.

"Fine, let's see what we can find." she said.

Then the great shopping experience started.

August 26, 2012; 5:00 pm.

Location: downtown London

It had been going on all day, homeless people were sick, getting sick on everyone else, ambulances running around picking them up, more calls into the hospital then they were accustomed to, but it was all a useless battle. Not everyone was taken to the hospital, some never even made it out of the park, others ambled into London only to die alone in dark alleys. Soon everyone would be dealing with more than just sick people, they would be dealing with the undead. The ones who made it to the hospitals in time would get a short reprieve, the people who had run-ins with them would not.

Several hours later the first innocent bystander was rushed to the hospital and put into the ICU. There was now an epidemic on their hands, hopefully they could contain it to London. The CDC was called in to evaluate the patients and gather data on this new flu. They walked into the ICU with full hazmat garb and started to poke, prod and examine everyone that had come in contact with anyone who had shown symptoms of this new flu.

The homeless men that had been brought in were well on their way to mending, and were very indignant about the treatment they were now getting from the CDC. Several of them just wanted to leave, but were restrained. The whole hospital ward was under quarantine and anyone who had come into contact with them. More and more people were coming in with strange symptoms, and the hospital was running out of rooms. WHO was called in to help and they started to transfer people that did not show signs of the new flu to other places. Little did they know that it would not be contained, it had already made its way to America and was spreading, and in the process mutating.

AN: Sorry for the long wait. Next chapter we will head over to Umbrella and the experiments. Then back to Harry and his new trunk will be explained.
