A/n: Hey guys, I'm sorry it's been a while on this update. I was writing this because a friend of mine wanted me to, and said friend died in September. So now, I must finish the story for him. It's gonna be a bumpy ride for me and I won't have a schedule for updates, but just know I'm working on 'em.

"So Rae now that you had the balls to ask a girl out for an actual date, what are you gonna do?" Kai asked his little cousin as he walked into her room.

"I'm not sure cuz, I just know that she makes me want to be different. You've went to this school for a while, what do you know about her?"

"She's a sweet girl Rae."

"C'mon Kai, there has to be more than that. I already know she's sweet."

"About six months ago a tragic accident struck this town Rae. It was bad. It shut down Main Street for hours."

"Why are you telling me about something that happened that long ago when I asked you about Quinn?"

"Shut your pretty little mouth and let me finish short stack. This wreck was bad, there was nothing left of one of the cars and the other one didn't look much better. Russell went out to grab dinner for his family, taking his 2 year old granddaughter with him. They were on Main Street just a block from the place they were getting their food from when a car swerved over to the wrong side of the road hitting them dead on. The car that hit them was going pretty fast and had swerved to miss hitting me. I watched it happen and even after I called 911, all I could see was blood around my feet.

I stood there in shock. I knew the vehicle I was staring at. I've been around the Fabray's my whole life so that car was familiar. Yet, I still hoped it wasn't true. I ran to the car to see if I could help, but what I saw, Rach, it was bad. The other car wasn't any better. No one survived the crash Rach."

"Kai, I don't know what to say."

"Rach, don't walk on eggshells around her, she can't stand it, but also do not mention the accident to her, let her tell you on your own time. That little girl was the sweetest thing ever. Everyone loved her, with the exception of Finn."

"Fuck that oversized child. I can't stand him."

"No one can little cuz. Just know you and Quinn going out like this, he will start a raging war with you. He's had a boner for her for all of high school. Okay, you finish getting ready, I'ma go torment Satan."

Rachel laughed at her cousin. Some people didn't like him because he was so straight forward with whatever it was he was thinking, but Rachel and her siblings knew it ran in the family. Most people saw it as a type of hostility, but once you got to know Kai, it was just his way of being a good person.

Rachel finished putting on her clothes. She chose black jeans, black Converse, white tank top, and she topped it off with her leather jacket and aviators. "Lookin' hot Sis," Santana said to her as she walked down the stairs.

"Thanks San,"

"Yea Rach, you look good."

"Thank you little brother."

"And where are you going this evening?" Her father Leroy asked.

"She's got a date uncle Leroy and I must say the girl is a hottie."

"A date huh? And when do we get to meet her?"

"When I know for sure you guys won't scare her off."

"Star, that isn't something we'd EVER do!" Her other father, Hiram, said.

"Sure papi, whatever you say. I'm gone."

The drive to Quinn's house was the most nerve racking driving for the small brunette. She'd never been so serious with a girl as to go on a first date with her. It was usually fuck 'em and move on. There was something about this blonde that made her want to change though. She knew she was a broken soul, but she'd do whatever she could to fix her.

She got out of her car and walked up to the front door. She checked herself out in her reflection from the glass before knocking. She looked flawless, and she'd like to keep it that way. She stood there for a few seconds before the door was answered by a woman who looked so much like Quinn, it was clear it was her mother. "Kurt and Britt weren't lying, you are hot," the older woman said. "I'm Judy, Quinn's mother. Come on in she's still getting ready."

Judy moved out of the way to let Rachel inside the house. "So my children told me that your family moved here from New York. What's it like going from the big city to this little town?"

"It's an adjustment."

There was another knock on the door. "Hold on sweetie."

"Hi Ms. Fabray. Is Quinn home? I was hoping to take her out this evening."

"From what I've heard Quinn isn't with you, nor is she happy with you right now. Finn, leave."

He put his hand on the door to stop her from closing it. "I love your daughter, I will get her to forgive me."

Rachel knew there was going to be trouble.

To Satan: You and squirt better get here.

From Satan: What's up?

To Satan: Finn showed up and won't leave and I'd really hate to ruin my clothes.

From Satan: On our way.

Rachel grinned and got up from the couch. "Ms. Fabray, if I may?"

Before Judy could protest, Rachel was up in Finn's face. "Listen here you oversized baby, you said some pretty harsh things in Glee today. If it weren't for the fact that I look so damn cute right now, I'd beat your ass." Rachel grinned as she looked behind him and saw Kai's Skyline pull to the curb. "But I guess they will have to do it for me."

"What?" Was all he could say before Rachel shut the door and went back to the living room with Judy.

"What are they doing out there?"

"Teaching him not to show up where he isn't wanted I hope," a voice floated down the stairs.

Rachel looked up and was in awe. Quinn was wearing a knee length sundress that was a light purple shade, flats that matched and light makeup. Another knock on the door jostled her out of her daze. Judy opened the door and Santana, Blaine, and Kai walked in. "He shouldn't show up here anymore for a while. We're sorry we showed up like this."

"It's quite alright, he's been doing that for a week. I'm Judy. You must be Santana and Blaine. Nice to see you again Kai, when will you be coming back for dinner?"

"Anytime you want me to Judes."

"Come in kids. Quinn will you show them to your brother and sisters room please?"

"We know where they are, maybe we should let these two finally leave, because the look our sister is giving us means we are going to get yelled at when she gets home," Blaine said as we smiled towards Rachel. "Kai are you staying?"

"No I have homework to do, I'll probably be at your house when you all get back so just call me and I can come pick you up."

"Alright cuz, see ya."

Kai walked out of the door and proceeded to step over Finn and get back into his car.

"Britt, Kurt, you have guests!" Quinn yelled as she walked down the rest of the stairs. "Hello Rachel."

"Hello Quinn, you look beautiful this evening."

Quinn blushed. "Thanks."

"Well I guess we better get going." Rachel held out her arm for Quinn to grab on to.

The girls walked out to Rachel's car. Rachel let go of Quinn to open the passenger door for her to get into. "So chivalrous."

"And you enjoy every minute of it." Rachel grinned as she shut the door and hurried to the driver side.

The girls drove in a comfortable silence for a while before Rachel turned on her radio. Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls was playing. "And here I thought you only listened to Halestorm," Quinn smiled.
"Though I do really enjoy Halestorm, I have other musical interests besides just rock."
"Like what?"

"Taylor Swift, 5 Seconds of Summer, Miranda Lambert. That's just a few. What about you?"

"I'll listen to pretty much anything, it sometimes depends on my mood."
"Well if you want you can go through my iPod and find a song you like."

"This is fine."

The girls arrived to a small hill overlooking the town. "Kai told me about this spot. I'm not much for restaurants."

"It's beautiful up here Rachel."

"Well have a seat and let's get this date started." Rachel grabbed Quinn's hand and led her to a blanket. "I just have various fruits, being a vegan there's not many choices around here for me to eat."

"This is lovely."

The girls ate slowly, enjoying each other's company and having small talk. Rachel found out more about Quinn, like her favorite flowers, favorite color, what she wanted to go to college for, and she even found out that she had gotten accepted into Yale. She didn't go into too much detail about her daughter. Rachel knew now that her name was Beth and that since she died Quinn has felt like a piece of her is gone. Which to Rachel was understandable, it was her child after all.

Quinn learned that he hunch about Rachel and her siblings was right, they were players, but from what Quinn has seen from the way they act, the player part of them stayed in New York. She knew that the three of them were very close and usually when one was in trouble the other two were soon to follow.

Quinn and her siblings were close, but not as close as Rachel and her siblings. She envied them because of this. She'd realized how real of a person Rachel was. She wondered why no one in New York got to know her that well. She learned that Rachel was on her way to NYADA because she had auditioned for them over the summer. She also didn't forget to mention that Yale and NYADA weren't that far apart. If this worked out the way Quinn was feeling it was going to, she would be spending a lot of time in New York.

"It's getting late, we better get you home," Rachel said as she stood up, reaching her hand out to Quinn so she could help her up.

As they got back in to Rachel's car and started driving back to Quinn's house, Quinn reached for Rachel's hand. Rachel had held a lot of hands in her young life, but none fit as perfect in hers as Quinn's. "I think this is gonna be a fun ride with you Quinn," Rachel said.

"Yeah, I think so too."

They pulled in to Quinn's driveway. "I don't want this to end now," Rachel said as she unbuckled her seatbelt.

"Me either."

Rachel got out and went to open Quinn's door. They walked to the house hand in hand. "How about I pick you up for school tomorrow?" Rachel asked.
"What about the others?"
"Blaine and Santana can take daddy's car or ride with Kai. Brittany and Kurt can take your Bug."

"Okay, but we have to rotate who takes who to school," Quinn was beginning to like this girl more than she thought she would. Finn would pick her up for school, but his truck always smelled like a stale fart.

Rachel leaned in while Quinn was deep in thought. She pressed her lips to the blondes and it felt like she was in heaven. Their lips fit perfectly together. There was no fight for dominance, it's like they'd done this many times before. Rachel reluctantly pulled away and placed her head against Quinn's when the need for air became a problem. "Good night Quinn, I'll see you in the morning," Rachel said as she returned to her car.

Rachel went straight to her room when she got home, she jumped in the shower and put on her pajamas. When she stepped out of her en suite bathroom, she saw her sister sitting on her bed. "Well, how'd it go?"

"She's amazing San. I thought moving down here was going to be a bummer. That it'd be just like New York and we'd plow through everyone by the end of the year, but Quinn, she makes me feel different."

"Yeah but did you kiss her?"

"I wouldn't be a true Berry if I didn't."

"HEY BLAINE COME HERE!"

"What do you want San?" Blaine asked when he ran to his oldest sisters room.

"Rachie is in looooove."

Rachel threw a pillow at her sister. "You two are driving daddy's car tomorrow. Now get the fuck outta my bedroom."

She grabbed her phone. She really missed Quinn even though she just seen her.

To Quinn: Good night beautiful.

From Quinn: Goodnight Rachel.

And with those texts, Rachel drifted off into sleep.

She woke up the next morning with a smile on her face. The feelings she was feeling, a mixture of butterflies and terror, scared her. She'd never had a girl she liked like this before and THAT was the terrifying part. She quickly got dressed. She chose her usual black skinny jeans, combat boots, and tank top, but she complimented it with a light purple, plaid shirt. Seeing as it was one of Quinn's favorite colors. "Aren't you just a ray of fucking sunshine this morning," Santana said as she walked into her sisters room.

"Well dear sister, when you get the balls to ask Brittany on a date, you'll wake up feeling like this too. Are you guys okay with taking daddy's car?"

"Nah Kai is gonna pick us up. What about tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow you get the Camaro, Quinn is picking me up."

"Alright see you at school."

"See ya," Rachel replied as she grabbed her things and went to her car.

As she drove to Quinn's house, she felt herself getting more nervous. Is this what it feels like to be falling in love? Wait, falling in love? I only just met this girl and I'm falling in love? Rachel was still having her inner turmoil when she pulled into Quinn's drive way. As she walked up to the door, she once again checked herself out in her reflection in the mirror. Like the night before, she felt she looked flawless and wanted to keep it that way. She only knocked on the door once before Quinn's mother opened the door. "Oh hello Rachel."

"Hello Ms. Fabray, I'm here to pick Quinn up for school."

"She's in the kitchen finishing her breakfast. Would you like some?"

"No thank you. I'm a vegan so I don't eat the type of pancakes others do."

"Well I'm going to have to remember that for when you come to dinner this week."

"That would be delightful."

"Mom, I told you I would ask her!" Quinn yelled from the kitchen.

"Oh sorry dear. I'm just so excited that someone has finally gotten my Quinnie talking all the time again."

"MOM!"
Quinn quickly grabbed Rachel's hand and ran out her door. She didn't even give Rachel time to tell everyone goodbye or to even open her door for her. "Why are parents so embarrassing?"

"So I get you excited huh?" Rachel laughed.

All Quinn could do was blush. Rachel reached in for Quinn's hand, only to have Quinn turn and kiss her. Now it was Quinn's turn to laugh as a light blush showed on Rachel's cheeks. "Let's get to school."

Rachel put the car in drive as Quinn entangled her fingers in hers. The drive to the school was filled with the girls singing songs from Rachel's iPod. Rachel pulled in beside Kai's car. Not long after they arrived, Quinn's brother and sister pulled in beside them. "You know Rach, I told you we'd rule this school. I just didn't think it'd be during our second week," Santana said.

"I don't think we quite run it yet San. Did you try out for cheerleading yet?"

"Yeah, find out after Glee if I made it."

The group walked in to the school. Quinn quickly reached for Rachel's hand. Rachel shot her a confused look because Quinn's grip on her hand was almost painful. When she looked up, she saw an almost balding man coming towards them. "Who is that?" Rachel asked.

Before anyone could answer her, the man went straight for Kurt. "Kurt, you have to listen to me. I love you. Russell was never your father. I am your father," the man said to him. He then turned to Quinn, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to hit them that night. I was just driving home."

Rachel turned to Quinn, who had tears in her eyes. This made Rachel mad. How dare this man come and make this beautiful woman cry. She looked over to Kurt and Blaine. Blaine was standing in front of Kurt so the man couldn't get to him. Santana in front of Brittany. "Burt, you need to go home. You are obviously drunk and you need to sleep it off," Kai said as he tried to get the man to leave the school. "C'mon man I'll help you to your car."

Once the man was out of the building, Quinn's grip on Rachel's hand seemed to loosen up. The group made their way into Glee for that mornings practice. "Mr. Shue, I have something prepared if that's okay? I think we can probably use this at sectionals as well," Quinn said as she stood up.

"Alright Quinn, whenever you are ready," The teacher moved out of the way. "I'm singing this song for someone in here."

Lost and broken, hopeless and lonely

Smilin on the outside, but hurt beneath my skin

My eyes are fadin, my soul is bleedin

I try to make it seem okay, but my faith is wearin thin.

So help me heal these wounds they've been open for way to long.

Help me fill this hole, even though this is not your fault

That I'm open and I'm bleedin all over your brand new rug

And I need someone to help me sew them up.

Quinn was trying to sneak glances at Rachel. She really was falling for this bad seed that she had so much wanted to stay away from. She wondered why, she'd only known this girl for a week, and yet she felt closer to her than anyone she's ever met before.

I only wanted a magazine, I only wanted a movie screen

I only wanted the life I'd read about and dreamed

And now my mind is an open book

And now my heart is an open wound

And now my life is an open soul for all to see

But help me heal these wounds

They've been open for way to long

Help me fill this hole, even though this is not your fault

That I'm open and I'm bleedin

All over your brand new rug

And I need someone to help me

Rachel came into her life at a time that she felt lost. She had lost her daughter and father in a horrible car accident, and that had left a hole that she felt would always be there. Rachel showing up, has started to help her realize that the whole would never filled, but the pain she felt from it could be eased.

So you come along, I push you away, then kick and scream for you to stay

Cause I need someone to help me

Oh I need someone to help me

To help me heal these wounds

They've been open for way to long

Help me feel this hole, even though this is not your fault

That I'm open and I'm bleedin all over your brand new rug

And I need someone to help me sew them

I need someone to help me fill them

Oh I need someone to help me close them up

Quinn finished the song with tears in her eyes. "I knew you'd come around Quinn. Look I know I can be an ass but I'm glad you see that we are perfect for each other," Finn walked up to Quinn, putting his arm around her.

Rachel looked at the two. She knew that song was meant for her, but with Finn assuming it was for him, she felt kind of hurt. She got up and left the choir room. Determined to show that man child that Quinn belongs with her, not him, and he'd no long stand in the way.
