When we reached the TARDIS, we had to stay and let Sam sort of… catch his breath.

The Doctor, in the meantime, lamented the new design of the TARDIS interior ("What have I done to you?") and explored every unfamiliar inch.

"Are you doing alright?" I asked Sam as he gingerly sat down.

He nodded, shook his head, then said, "I don't know," as he lowered his face into his hands.

"Listen," I said, "you stay here with the Doctor, and I'll go look for the one you've already met."

He nodded and glanced at the man in the bowtie.

"I'll be back soon."

I reached the deck seconds before the ship shuddered. I could imagine the panic in the bridge, and the coming chaos with the life boats.

I took a deep breath, preparing to call for the Doctor, when I heard a voice say, "What do you mean you lost the TARDIS?"

"Exactly that, Ace. It's just gone."

"So what you're saying is we're trapped on a sinking 'unsinkable' ship with a power-hungry god looming nearby?"

I had caught up at that point, and added, "Also there's a power-hungry, sadistic Time Lord in the bridge."

"The Master!" the Doctor said, stopping to look at me. "Wait, who are you?"

He was wearing a whole lot of question marks, and somehow they helped punctuate his question.

"You don't know me yet, and I'm fairly sure I've lost the you that I came with." I glanced around and said, "What power-hungry god?"

The girl—Ace—answered, "Well, he's not actually a god…"

I nodded. "They never really are." I paused. "Is it just the two of you?"

"Benny!" the Doctor said suddenly, looking worried. "She went to check the upper decks not too long ago."

"Alright," I replied quickly, "you two go find Benny. The other you wanted us to meet up, so find me by those stairs below decks." I pointed to the stairs closest to the TARDIS.

Everyone was starting to emerge. Children were playing with the chunks of ice that had fallen onto the decks, kicking them around like balls. Most everyone was in their pajamas, complaining about being woken up.

I couldn't see the Doctor anywhere. I walked around the ship, climbed to the upper decks, and even explored the area around the false smokestack.

"Doctor," I muttered under my breath, "if it was you that flippin' stole old-you's TARDIS, I'm going to kill you."

I went down to the stairs, but the Doctor—the one with Ace and Benny—wasn't there.

I turned a corner, heading for the TARDIS and ran into the Doctor—the one I'd left with Sam, who was right behind him.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

He pointed to his sonic screwdriver. "I'm getting a distress signal, and it seems to be coming from another me."

"Doctor," I said, "the other yous are missing, and the Titanic is going down."
