And now for the story...I really did try sorry if this disappointed you *cowers and runs away* But I hope you like it! It's short, but I really wanted to finally finally just update! Actually, I kinda really like this chappie even though it's short...but decided for yourselves! :D R&R Please!
Calypso lay on the beach, her arms underneath her head. The sky was darkening and a few stars were just beginning to shine. She sighed. She loved to stargaze, it was so calming. The stars don't change. They're always there, she thought. If only everything else in life was like that. Never changing, simple and beautiful.
She closed her eyes, letting her mind wander. She called up her best memories with Mark.
It was a beautiful night. The stars were shining, the moon was glowing, the sky was the perfect midnight blue and shadows crept around her. She was walking along the beach, lost in the scenery.
"Calypso!" Mark called out to her. He had the smile again. The smile that melted her insides because it was genuine. It was like he was shouting out, "I'm so happy to see you because I love you!".
Calypso ran to him and hugged him tightly. "Mark." she breathed. Their relationship had escalated dramatically because she had finally acknowledged that she was ready to move on from Leo. And Mark was so sweet, willing to wait, ready to make things work.
Mark tipped her head up so that he could see her eyes. "So I was thinking maybe we could have a little picnic and watch the stars or whatever."
Calypso nodded. "Sounds perfect," she whispered. So they spent the night, laughing together, and watching the heroes in the stars.
That night was romantic and peaceful. It wasn't anything exciting or dramatic, but Calypso loved it because, literally, love was in the air. The perfect moment of harmony.
Mark was a really sweet guy. And he was the perfect boyfriend. But everything had felt so right with Leo...
She was standing a safe distance away from Leo. He was working on...something...and his hands were on fire and he was sweating and yet Calypso felt drawn to him.
"Need any help?" she asked hopefully. Anything to spend more time with you, she thought.
Leo looked up surprised. "You actually want to help? It's dirty work," he warned.
Calypso smiled and tied up her hair. "I'm not a girl who's afraid to get dirty, Leo."
Leo grinned. "Let's get to it then!"
The rest of the day was a blur of fire, grease, tools and more. All-in-all it was one of the most fun days in Calypso's life. Which is saying a lot since, after all, she is immortal. That day was magical, she got to share in what Leo loved to do and she really did learn a lot, not to mention that she could do whatever she wanted without having to worry about how she looked. And the stories they shared together while they worked were thrilling and Calypso felt an inexplicable connection with him.
And that's what they did everyday. They worked together, and Calypso loved it even though she knew that everything Leo was building was to help him get home...to leave her...forever.
Except, obviously, it wasn't forever because here he was, today, on her island.
She groaned and closed her eyes. So there's the man that managed to defy the laws and come back for me on Ogygia after leaving, and then the man that chose to stay when no one else did. She knew both of them loved her. The problem was, who did she truly love? She loved Leo first...but did that really mean anything?
When you're cursed to love everyone, how do you know what true love is?
"Calypso!" a familiar voice called to her. She opened her eyes. She knew who it was and all she could think was, No, no, I'm not ready for this yet please!
A/N: What do you think? And yes this is short, but I wanted a kind of cliffy ending, and to make up for it I'll put the next one up much sooner and it will be long. I promise. Sorry for being a pathetic excuse for a writer :/So there's a poll up about who Calypso should choose. What do you think? Go vote please! 15 votes and reviews for next chapter? Which might possibly be the second last one before the epilogue. Not too sure.
