A/N: This is it guys! The last chapter! There will be an epilogue, but this is really the end of the story. Alright, so...this is the end. I really hope you enjoy! And please review, it is the last chapter after all, I would love any comments and concrit! (And if you like this story enough to favourite or follow, you should like it enough to review, right? )

They were here. This was it. She couldn't believe it! She leaned against the rail and closed her eyes, breathing in deeply.

"Excited?" A deep voice asked behind her. She smiled, turning around into his embrace. Warm brown eyes smiled down at her.

"Of course!" She couldn't believe that she was really here. Not in Ogygia, and shortly arriving at New York. Not long ago, she never thought she'd be free from her prison paradise. And now? Here she was, dreaming of things she previously could not even hope for.

The journey had been fairly easy-going. There were a few monster attacks, but those were taken care of without much hassle (although Calypso's arm was injured from a particularly vicious attack). Other than that though, well, two demigods and the daughter of a Titan made quite the formidable group.

Better yet, she had been able to spend time with Leo. And even with Mark. Several late night talks had cleared the air, and she knew that Mark understood, that he still cared, that he was hurt, but they were friends. And she had been pleasantly surprised at the bonding of Leo and Mark, finding herself out of the loop as the two joked around. She rolled her eyes thinking about the many food fights. (Of course, she hadn't joined the fights. And she certainly hadn't been the one that slipped on some gravy and managed to take down both boys with her, not the mention a table. It was a long story.)

Leo released her, stepping back. He kissed her on the cheek. "I'll be right back," he promised.

She nodded, and turned back to look at the world around her once more. She could see land not far off, and she grinned. Soon.

Her grin widened as she heard Leo's voice through the speakers.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We will begin descending in approximately sixty seconds. Destination: Long Island."

Calypso shook her head, laughing. He's terrible at British accents.

And that was her last thought before everything went wrong.

Even in all her dreams, she never imagined it like this. She never imagined such joy could be tempered with such pain.

"He sacrificed himself for us," he whispered hoarsely. "For you."

And then he reached out, pulling her into his arms.

It had all happened so fast. The monsters appeared out of nowhere. She could still see Leo's eyes widening and then him scrambling towards their weapons, shouting for her to get Mark. She and Mark had joined the fight, but they all knew they were badly outmatched. She could clearly remember Mark's agonized cry as he dropped to his knees, clutching at his side. And Leo, cursing as blood dripped from the scratches on his face. And the intense burst of pain as her injured arm began to throb once more.

Then, time seemed to stop as she saw a huge wing fly out...towards Leo. She didn't remember screaming, or even running. The next thing she fully remembered was feeling the air around her as she was knocked out of the ship, then plunging into the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Spluttering, gasping, she had tried to stay afloat, but her right arm was useless, staining the water pink with blood, growing heavier every time she tried to lift it.

So close...yet so far... and she began to sink. I guess freedom was never meant for me...

She opened her eyes.

"Thank the gods," Leo sighed, kissing her repeatedly. "I thought I had lost you."

She smiled weakly. "You can't get rid of me that easily," she joked, chuckling-then coughing.

She waved aside Leo's worried look. "I'm fine."

"No, you're not. But we'll get your arm looked at when we get to camp." Leo stood up and bean to walk away. "You should rest for now. I can IM someone for help."

Calypso nodded drowsily. "Sounds good," she murmured. Her eyes closed, then shot open. "Leo! Where's Mark?"

Leo turned, slowly, reluctantly.

She would never forget the look in his eyes.

Calypso knew she should be crying, but somehow the tears wouldn't come. She was too overwhelmed. Her grief was too raw.

"He...he told me to save you. Said no one would miss him anyways...and I told him he was wrong. All he said after that was, 'Look after Calypso...and tell Taya I love her.' And then he charged at the monsters, distracting them so I could get you safely to shore." A short pause. Then Leo began talking again, speaking quickly. "He loved you too, you know. He had every right to hate me, and he put that aside so we could be happy together. He was a hero. And that's not- it's not like I'm trying to comfort you by saying, 'he died, but he was a hero, so let's celebrate!' or anything. He died...but he died protecting someone he loved. And that's a death worth dying. He'll go to Elysium for it."

Calypso nodded, and Leo grew silent. They both stood up, and began walking.

Every ending is a new beginning.

A/N: Well?! Ahhh I'm so excited-I know it wasn't that long but I think quite a bit happened and I just really want to know what you guys think! I had kind of always planned for Mark to sacrifice himself honestly...what'd you think? Were you expecting it, or did it surprise you? Tell me in a review please~ And a reminder there will be an epilogue soon and possibly side/follow-up one-shots, so look out for those ;)

Thanks y'all 3

Kitty out.
