Chapter 28- After the Problem Probe

"The M.I High project is dead." Hamish stated sternly. The four teenage spies and Frank stood there, trying to process what just happened. Dan placed his hands on the table and looked down, shaking his head; he looked like he was about to explode.

"What?! After all we've been through, your sacking us?!" He was clearly outraged, as was the rest of the team, who were nodding their heads in agreement.

"I really am sorry, but this isn't me decision." Hamish explained calmly.

"I don't believe this! We put it right in the end! We delivered the real Mandy and got rid of the android! Unbelievable!" Aneisha's temper was firing up now; being a spy had changed her world, and now she had to let it all go.

"And as I always say, it doesn't matter what happens in the end, it matters on how you deal with the situation." Frank stated, clearly as annoyed as the teens were.

"Yeah! It's not fair! We didn't know that Mandy was an android!" Tom outburst and everyone looked at him, surprised. Tom just looked down at his feet, feeling embarrassed.

"I might have a word with the PM about this." Frank strode out, followed by the four teens, who glared at Hamish as they walked into the lift. Luckily for them, Hamish didn't see this because he was too busy 'feeling sympathetic'.

"Prime Minister, sir, may we please come in?" They were at 10 Downing Street in the Prime Minister's office, wanting answers about us being fired.

"Of course, of course, come in." He gestured for us to sit down, but no one took up the PM's offer, and he had a blank face.

"What seems to be the problem?" He asked, acting quite oblivious as to what has been happening.

"What seems to be the problem?! Are you fu-" Frank put a hand on Dan's shoulder.

"Dan, calm down, I'll handle this one." Frank whispered. Dan just simply nodded and stepped back, mentally screaming at the PM.

"Sir, Hamish just told us the news and we simply don't agree to this situation. We saved the day-"

"Yes, you did, but only just. It was too close this time Frank; I won't let that happen again."

"Sir, you have my word that it won't happen again." The PM put his hand out to stop them from talking.

"Frank, I'm very sorry, but this is the only way to prevent disastrous events from happening again. Now if you could please exit my office; I've got some paperwork to do." The PM shooed them away, looking down at the papers all over his desk and not seeing everyone glare at him, including Frank. The guards escorted them out of the government building and they drove back to St Hearts in Frank's car.

No one spoke the whole way; plainly because no one knew what to say. If they started shouting, this would cause conflict, causing Frank to lose focus and possibly crash. If they started to talk about something completely off topic, someone would end up saying something like, 'Drop the act! We all know this is a load of bull****'. If they even talked at all, someone would get angry for no reason whatsoever.

As they pulled up at the school, Dan opened the car door aggressively and stormed into the building. Aneisha, Tom and Keri followed quite timidly, knowing that Dan was very close to his job. Walking towards the building, Keri gasped and turned to Frank in horror.

"Frank! What's going to happen to me? Where am I going to live? What am I going to do?" Keri started to panic but Frank placed his hands on her shoulders.

"Keri, calm down. Since you are technically under protective custody, you can live in a different safe house as to where you were living before. Maybe, just maybe, I can arrange for you to live with Libi." Frank whispered in a hushed tone as Keri squealed with delight at his statement.

"Are you serious?!" She screamed with joy and started to jump around excitedly. As it was lunch break, everyone in the corridor looked at her with confusion and tried to hold in their laughter at her dancing. Keri looked down in embarrassment as Aneisha, Tom and Keri came over to see what was going on.

"Well, look who's having the time of their life! Why are you happy about this? We just got fired!" Aneisha nudged Tom in the arm and he rubbed it from the pain.

"Yeah, thanks for reminding me." Keri walked down the corridor feeling glum while Aneisha glared at Tom.

"What?"

"Even though you're a genius, you can be really stupid sometimes Tom." Aneisha walked off to find Keri. Frank shook his head; one minute Keri's in a rage, the next she's jumping up and down in excitement and now she's upset? What is with girls these days?

"Keri! Keri! Are you out here?!" Aneisha was outside the school building in the front yard, trying to find Keri and make her feel better. Now she just had to find Keri.

"Keri, please! Tom didn't mean it!" She heard a sniff from the side of the building. Aneisha peeked around the corner to see Keri's bag leaning against the wall, but Keri wasn't there. She started to walk a little further, until she saw her, crying behind a few bushes.

"He did Neish, he really did." Keri sobbed when Aneisha put an arm around her shoulders.

"No he didn't Keri. He was just having a moment. You know like when you say something before you even think what it is." Aneisha rolled her eyes and Keri giggled; Tom really was a genius, but sometimes, he was really stupid, especially when it involved other people.

"Are you okay?" Keri sighed and replied-

"No, I'm not okay. I just got sacked from the best job in the world." Aneisha leant her head on Keri's shoulder and sniffed.

"I know, it totally sucks. I feel like- no, it doesn't matter."

"Neish, whatever you've got to say, even if it's just a gut feeling, tell me. Because normally, you're right about whatever it is."

"Well, I know it sounds crazy, but I feel like Hamish wanted to fire us. I mean, he looked sympathetic enough, but I felt like I saw something underneath him, like a smug face." Keri nodded; she understood what Aneisha was saying.

"I know what you mean, and the funny thing is I sort of felt that too. But Hamish wouldn't really do that, would he?"

"I don't know Keri, I really don't know anymore." They both sighed and stayed there for a little while, thinking about the comments they both stated beforehand.

"Aneisha! Keri! Are you guys out here?!" Both girls' heads snapped upwards hearing a faint yelling voice. It sounded like a male's deep voice, but not too deep.

"Aneisha! Keri! Please can you guys come back?!" They both looked at each and giggled; that voice definitely belonged to Tom. They helped each other up, grabbed their bags and made their way around the corner of the building to find Tom kicking every rock that got in his path. He turned around to see the two girls giggling.

"Finally! I found you guys!" His face suddenly changed from relieved to serious.

"Look, Keri, I'm really sorry about what I said. I was just confused and I wasn't thinking before I said that."

"Yeah, we kinda figured that out. But I accept your apology." Keri walked over to Tom and slapped him on the back. Tom screamed in pain and Keri jumped back towards Aneisha.

"ARGH! Why do people always slap me on the back! It's painful!" Aneisha and Keri burst out laughing at Tom's reaction. He rubbed his back; that was a really hard slap, well, for Tom anyway. That's going to leave a bruise later, he thought to himself. The two girls forgot about the theory they had about Hamish and walked inside the front building, a sore Tom trailing behind.

"Frank! I need a bandage!" The girls clutched their stomachs to resist the pain forming from their laughter. Frank raised an eyebrow and laughed when he saw Tom rubbing his back. He shook his head and headed towards the nurse's office to look for a First Aid Kit. Aneisha and Keri came up from behind Tom and slapped his back, one girl for each side.

"You know what Tom? I think that bruise isn't going to stay there long." The two girls ran down the corridor, trying to avoid the exhausted Tom running after them. He soon became tired and put his hands on his knees, gasping for his breath back.

I'm going to get them back. One day, they are going to pay.
