Chapter thirty one:
Mello fires at the beasts and creates a gap which he runs past them running to try to find out where Near is being held. "I will find you. Just hold on." He says words meant for Near.

Matt and Kaori are walking when they hear someone calling out making them pause only to glance to each other. They try to follow the sound but they find themselves unsure which way to go heading in the wrong direction at first but turn around to head in the right direction…
However when they think that they are getting close to the sound that sounds like someone trying to get someone to hear them that sounds muffled making it hard to truly make out with Matt believing it's Near….. The sounds suddenly stop.
Matt and Kaori stop as silence lays heavily around them.
Where was the sound coming from?

Allen and Igneous had also heard the sounds and quickly moved to follow the sounds. They find themselves just outside of a room that has the door open enough for someone to walk inside.
Allen indicates Igneous to stay back then he peers cautiously inside the room.
Darker Near is seen walking through another door that seems to go into a smaller room.
Allen's eyes narrow. "Gotcha."
Near's P.O.V.
I hear someone walk in as I was about to call out for help after glancing to the binds in hope that somehow they had loosened or something fell that I could use to get free with. I turn hopeful but my expression turns to anger as darker Near is who I see. "You." I say with anger laced within my voice.
Darker Near smirks. "Yes it's me." He says as if in an insane 'isn't that obvious?' voice. He approaches closer.
"I will take you down and end your reign of terror." I tell him as I start to shift to try to get the jewel out so I can trap him.
Darker Near shakes his head slightly as he makes some tsking noises. "Oh you are wrong there. I will take care of you then I will be free forever." He continues to approach with a growing smirk.
I try to hurry to try to get the jewel out to trap darker Near but not much luck.
Darker Near laughs at my efforts then just before he is can do anything there is a blast of fire he barely manages to dodge the fire that almost hits one of the ropes keeping me tied up in a kind of star position as if to keep me from finding a way to escape.
The ropes are tied to certain sturdy parts of the room and around my wrists as well as my ankles.
I look to where it had come from finding Allen and Igneous standing there.
Allen is holding some kind of weapon aimed right at where darker Near was.
Darker Near snarls and glares at Allen about to attack him.
Allen turns and fires again at Darker Near before he can go to attack them making darker Near have to dodge again. "Help Near." He tells Igneous.
Igneous nods and dashes to help me out of the binds holding me.
Allen keeps darker Near from reaching him or me and Igneous.
Igneous tugs on the ropes but they are tied tightly. "It's no use." He says in dismay when he can't get it loose.
Allen turns. "Stand back."
Igneous quickly moves to behind Allen.
Allen fires at one of the ropes holding my arm burning it so it snaps in two.
I begin to work on getting myself free or well trying to as Allen turns back to darker Near who almost is about to land a hit had Allen not turned to attack back at that time.
Allen fires again after darker Near has backed off then shoots at the two ropes that are tied to my ankles.
Like the first time he was careful to hit it not where it is tied to me but instead the middle area between the two points where it is tied to.
I think I can now swing myself to a piece of metal that is a part of a broken part of a part of the beams that were half decoration half building structure sturdiness though only one or two ended up broken so the room managed to stay standing.
Allen is tackled by darker Near and because of it Igneous is knocked to the ground away from the two as they fall to the ground.
Darker Near has an evil insane smirk on his face making it obvious that he will kill Allen.
The weapon is also knocked out of Allen's grip making it clatter to the floor.
I swing myself to the piece of metal I couldn't have reached till now and slice the rope making me go into the air. "No brakes. No brakes." I gasp to myself only to land on my feet thankful for the time on the streets. I move swiftly towards Allen and darker Near since the weapon is not in a place I can grab it making it be quicker to just tackle darker Near off of Allen.
Darker Near notices my movements looking up slightly turning to see me rushing towards him. His face goes to anger and he rushes off of Allen only to run off into the darkness of a dark corner of the room.
I skid to a stop managing to stop just before I end up crashing into Allen who is still laying on the ground.
Igneous sits up and Allen gets to his feet.
Before I can say anything Allen suddenly hugs me.
I blink and look to Allen as best as I can.
"Thank you." Allen says.
I smile softly knowing he is thanking me for saving him from Darker Near. I return the hug. "It's really no problem." I tell him.
After a moment we pull apart and share a smile.
Then I look serious.
"We need to find and stop darker Near. I am sure he is after one of the others." I say.
Allen also gains a serious look. He nods and rushes picking up the weapon.
I take the jewel out so it is resting on the outside of my clothes instead of being hidden inside of my clothes. I glance to Igneous as Allen quickly inspects the weapon to make sure it looks right.
Igneous is on his feet waiting for us.
I turn to Allen and he comes over.
"All good." Allen says. "Let's go."
I nod and we begin heading out with Igneous joining us.
We pick up the pace jogging down the hall once out in said halls. We need to hurry to find darker Near before he can cause any more harm.
THUD.
No one's P.O.V.
Mello jogs down the hall hoping that he will get there on time. He suddenly skids to a stop as darker Near walks out of some darkness in front of Mello. His eyes narrow in rage and he raises the weapon. "Where is Near!" He demands as he highly hopes that darker Near hasn't 'taken care of Near' by now. "What have you done with him!" He demands.
Darker Near leaps at Mello and before the other can fire a shot he finds he has to dodge but can't in time.
Mello is knocked to the ground and the weapon clatters on the ground.
Since darker Near mostly hit Mello on the one side where his main grip on the weapon was on darker Near doesn't pin Mello.
Mello tries to scramble to his feet to try to rush to the weapon.
Darker Near charges after slightly skidding on the ground since his attempt to attack was not fully successful.
The two clash and one finds himself pinned to a wall.
